Delta Marine motor yacht Time For Us sold

The 46.1 metre Delta Marine motor yacht Time For Us, listed for sale by Burgess, has been sold with the buyer introduced by Kevin Merrigan and Kristen Klein of Northrop & Johnson.

With exterior and interior design by Jonathan Quinn Barnett , she was built in GRP by Seattle based yard Delta Marine to ABS class and delivered in 2011 with a full refit in 2016. She features a balance of elegance and strength, form and function, performance, range and comfort. The yacht has a flared hull design with a hard chine to deflect spray and a high sheer.

MCA compliant, her interior offers luxurious accommodation for ten guests in an elegant two-toned interior consisting of five cabins including a large full beam master suite on the main deck, two doubles with king sized beds, a further double with a queen sized bed and a twin, and all have full en suite bathroom facilities.

Impressive outdoor deck spaces provide a well-balanced mix of sheltered and open areas, expansive settings and secluded corners, which are suitable for relaxation, entertaining or dining as well as other social occasions. Outdoor features include a fantastic sun deck complete with several sun loungers, a day head, bar and spa pool, a large skylounge and aft decks ideal for dining al fresco.

Time For Us is wheelchair accessible, with extra wide doors, spacious walkways and a centrally located elevator providing convenient access to all four decks from the guest area to the sun deck.

Twin 2,250hp Caterpillar engines give her a cruising speed of 16 knots, a range of 3,000 nautical miles at 12 knots and she is fitted with zero speed stabilisers.

Time For Us was asking $18,500,000 and will be renamed Pisces.

The Back Cove 30' Express is one of the finest downeast style boats available in this size range. The Back Cove 30' has the traditional spoon bow, deep V-hull with prop recess and standard trim tabs for a quiet and comfortable ride. Both bow and stern thrusters make her exceptionally maneuverable.

‘Time For Us’ is a 122.05ft  /37.2m  Custom motor yacht built in 1997 by Delta Marine and last refitted in 2013. Previously named Phaedra, her luxurious interior is designed by Claudette Bonville and her exterior styling is by Delta Design Group.

Time For Us’s interior layout sleeps up to 8 guests in 4 rooms, including a master suite, 1 VIP stateroom, 1 double cabin and 1 twin cabin. She is also capable of carrying up to 5 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience. New England - TIME FOR US captain interview.

Captain Scott Ellison of the 46.1m (151ft) TIME FOR US talks to us about the yacht and what he loves about cruising her in New England

How long have you been a captain? 

I began working in yachting in 2003 and took my first captain’s job in 2013 for the same family I work for today.

What inspired you to become a captain? 

The job is incredibly multi-faceted and even more unique. What’s better than being anchored out in a quiet bay with calm water, a beautiful sunset and dolphins swimming by and you’re the only yacht around for miles to enjoy it? A captain plays a lot of roles but ultimately you are a creator of experience and I wanted the opportunity to create a space for crew and guests that was positive and rewarding for all.

Why did you choose to work on TIME FOR US?

I first started working for the TIME FOR US family as a first officer back in 2008 on their Feadship and spent a year and a half with the family. When they decided to get back into yachting in 2013 I was humbled when they contacted me to be their captain and thrilled to be working again for a great family.

What is your personal favourite feature or area of the yacht and why?

The outside deck spaces on this yacht are excellent. All of the toys are forward on the bow leaving a massive sun deck free of toys and working crew for guests to enjoy the quiet and fantastic views and the bridge deck provides great protection from the elements for outdoor dining.

How much experience do you have cruising in New England?

We have spent seven of the last eight summers cruising the greater New England area from Long Island up to Maine and the Canadian Maritimes.

What are you most looking forward to experiencing when you are there this summer?

The summer of 2020 will be unique for everyone. I really enjoy getting the boat out to quiet anchorages and finding small bays where the guests can feel alone and enjoy some peaceful solitude. This is particularly exceptional in Maine.

What is your favourite activity to create for guests on board TIME FOR US?

This is difficult to narrow down to one favorite but certainly I enjoy getting our guests to enjoy the beauty of nature. Picking a great anchorage, getting the toys out, setting up a lobster BBQ on the beach, and letting everyone be themselves. A lot of times removing the distraction of town, people and technology allows families to spend real quality time together and we’ve had families become a lot closer during the week they are on board and express their gratitude for the opportunity that being on the yacht provided for this to happen.

What is your personal favourite spot in New England and why?

I love the Penobscot Bay region of Maine for it’s quaint little towns, the hundreds of islands that can be explored, the solitude of great anchorages, and the calm and protected cruising it provides in the rare occasion of poor sea conditions. The locals are also incredibly friendly and love having us up there.

One piece of advice for what to pack for a New England charter?

While the weather is generally always pleasant and warm in July and August you will always want to pack a light sweater for the evenings as they can be cool at times, particularly if you enjoy dining outdoors, which we highly recommend. There is also a lot of opportunity for activity in New England, like bike riding or hikes so some exercise clothing is always handy.

What do you think will surprises guests the most about New England?

For those who have never explored New England by water I think they will find a nice combination of sophistication and simplicity. You can find all the great restaurants and shops that you want and not far away is beautiful nature and solitude.

What one dish typifies the New England dining experience?

Try the fantastic oysters or a New England clam bake which we all love and are quintessential New England dishes but for me it doesn't get any better than a great lobster roll! Done simply but right, a great bun and fresh lobster you just pulled out of the sea, it's a 'must-eat' for anyone visiting New England.

What advice would you give to a first-time charterer?

Get ready to have the time of your life!

What do you hope to bring to the TIME FOR US experience?

I really enjoy being involved in all aspects of the charter from start to finish and participating with all of our departments to ensure the guests are getting the experience they were anticipating. Each trip is different so learning about and adapting to each group is always a fun challenge.

Do you have any special traditions on board?

When we have families on board we like to get the kids out on the tubes and towed around the yacht while the parents shoot water balloons at them from the sun deck.

What, in your opinion, makes TIME FOR US crew so unique?

One comment we hear a lot of is that we have a fun crew that are genuinely happy and sincere in our effort to give the guests an amazing experience and this shows in our service.

One line on something that nobody knows about TIME FOR US?

Crew longevity is something we are very proud of and demonstrates not only the stability of our programme and the environment on board but also greatly improves the consistency and efficiency of our service and the experience we are able to provide to guests.

Her launch in 1994 was as M/Y Rasselas.  Feadship motor yacht TIME FOR US is a staple in the industry of charter yachts.  Mediterranean ports from St. Tropez to Naples host this 52-meter yacht.  She is a custom-build from the Netherlands.  Clearly, yacht TIME FOR US displays sophisticated exterior design and engineering.  These are benchmarks of Feadship De Voogt Naval Architects and the Koninklijke De Vries yard.

ENTERTAINMENT

The classic interior is the handiwork of John Munford.  TIME FOR US features spacious entertainment areas. They have exquisite dark wood paneling and hand-carved detailing.  The yacht has Dutch workmanship and quality.

COMMUNICATIONS

During 2007 and 2008, the yacht had a major refit.  She now features a Crestron entertainment system. It has Kaleidescape video, along with satellite TV.  Moreover, she has an impressive DVD/CD library.  Notably, the yacht has a baby grand piano for guest entertainment.

After the official launch in 1987 in Aalsmeer the boat was thereafter passed over to the yacht owner following final finishing. Her hull was constructed with steel. With a width of 8.14 metres / 26.7 ft TIME FOR US has fairly large internal space. She has a shallow draught of 2.87m (9.4ft). She had refit improvement and modification carried out by 1999.

The highly respected team at Vripack of The Netherlands and the Burger Design Team have joined forces to create a distinctive yacht of exceptional design and quality. Vripack has developed the structural and mechanical engineering along with a striking interior design and Burger is working diligently to assist, support and bring the effort to fruition. The interior renderings by Vripack were met with overwhelming approval by the owners as well as the shipyard and are being put in motion. “Our aim was to create an extraordinary explorer yacht on which guests can make the most of every minute,” Valentin Weigand of Valentin Design told Robb Report during the concept’s unveiling at the Monaco Yacht Show.

Intended for both warm and cold climates, Time not only offers underwater exploration, but also has the means to enjoy heli-skiing with an entire room dedicated to the activity, while features range from an indoor pool in the lower deck beach club to a cozy office in the owner’s suite to let owners and guests work, rest and play on their own terms.

It’s an owner’s perspective that Abeking’s sales director Till von Krause fully understands. He commutes to work at the German shipyard each morning aboard his traditional motor boat, cruising down the River Lesum before joining the larger River Weser where Abeking’s facilities are located.

“Time is a concept that allows owners to discover new worlds without forgetting old values,” von Krause says. “It’s about thinking around established solutions without fear of entering new waters.”

“Time was designed using a holistic approach, whereby the technical aspects were conceived alongside interior spaces to maximize usable volume and provide cost-efficient solutions,” Acquaviva told Robb Report . “Exploration widens the spectrum of opportunities aboard a yacht, but we set out to create a balanced compromise.”

The goal was to meld engineering elements with design features that created practical benefits for life on board. The inclusion of multiple side terraces to enlarge the yacht’s usable footprint, both in the beach club and the main salon, is one area. The certified heli-platform that transforms into an open-air entertaining space is another.

Triple-height, blacked-out windows and wraparound balconies break up the exterior flow of lines. On the inside, large glass panels create an observation lounge aft, allowing for full-height windows that frame views from all angles. An open-air cinema on the upper deck hints to family movie nights, while the crow’s nest offers the best seat on board.

The extra-wide duplex owner’s suite is a blend of soft curves and straight lines. There are two ensuites, one with a marble and wood bathtub, the other with a walk-in shower. Wool and silk carpets, tilting glass shutters and direct access to a private infinity jacuzzi bring “craftsmanship, comfort and freedom.”

“The owner’s suite is designed to bring openness and air circulation for high-quality rest,” says Weigand. The yacht also has two VIPs and four doubles, sleeping 12 guests in total.

With Time, the focus is on creating a floating refuge that gives owners the freedom to enjoy time on a seaworthy yacht.

“It was important for us to not only consider design, but to also add value, because a yacht is something to enjoy your family and friends, a place to forget about your worries and be free,” says Weigand. “That is always our intention.”

Given that Mark Zuckerberg enjoys a respectable 16th place on a list of the world’s richest people, he probably figured it was time for him to acquire one of the ultimate status symbols for the mega-wealthy — a super yacht.

A new report from The Sun said that Zuckerberg is now the proud owner of a $300 million vessel that he has christened “Launchpad.” The 387-foot-long vessel, which comes with a helipad and a $30 million companion boat, was seen docked this week at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with its unique chrome finish reflecting in the sun.

This purchase shows, among other things, that the Facebook and Meta founder and CEO has branched out from buying islands and building an underground complex to help him survive the apocalypse. Perhaps, he wants to cruise the Mediterranean this summer and be among the moguls who can play host to Leonardo DiCaprio.

The yacht definitely grants him admission to the watery playgrounds of such multibillionaires as Jeff Bezos, Larry Ellison, Bill Gates and any of the Russian oligarchs who haven’t been the target of sanctions imposed by the United States or its allies over Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine.

In fact, Zuckerberg reportedly came by Launchpad due to the misfortunes of one of those oligarchs. The yacht originally was commissioned to be built by Vladimir Potanin, one of Russia’s richest men who is on multiple sanctions list, according to a report by Autoevolution.com , a transportation industry site. The yacht was known as Project 1010, and the shipbuilder in the Netherlands was legally barred from delivering it to Potanin when it was completed in 2022, though Autoevolution also said that Potanin was not the yacht’s actual owner.

The Sun reported that the yacht recently received “special permission” to be imported. It has since arrived in the United States, a couple months ahead of Zuckerberg’s 40th birthday on May 14 — which raises the question of whether he meant Launchpad as a birthday gift to himself.

Ah, luxury yachts —constantly vying for attention like competitive siblings at a family reunion. Enter Lexus with their latest creation: the LY 680 yacht. It’s like the LY 650’s cooler, more sophisticated sibling who just got back from a gap year in the Mediterranean and now boasts an expanded flybridge and swimming platform.

The design of the LY 680 closely mirrors that of the LY 650, which is far from a drawback considering the latter’s reputation as one of the most aesthetically pleasing products in the Lexus lineup . The flybridge has been extended by a substantial 1,400 mm (55 inches), providing ample space for relaxation and activities, including a spacious lounge sofa and a barbecue grill.

Additionally, the swimming platform at the rear has been elongated by 700 mm (27.6 inches), allowing for easier watercraft parking and more room for ocean plunges.

After the redesign, the yacht’s length now stretches to 20.66 m (67 ft 9.4 inches), compared to its predecessor’s 19.94 m (65 ft 5 inches) footprint. The LY 680 is powered by twin Volvo Penta IPS engines, available in a choice of two outputs: 1,050 hp or 1,350 hp for each unit, or up to 2,700 hp combined. Lexus boasts that the LY 680 delivers ‘stable maneuverability, excellent ride comfort, and quietness,’ all par for the course for vessels of this size.

The spacious and luxurious interior remains unchanged, featuring a kitchen and comfortable seating area on the main level. We can also see the master bedroom and another living room underneath. In total, there are three rooms and up to six beds available. According to Lexus, the luxury yacht should feel like a “hideout in the middle of the sea, providing a space where discerning customers can feel free and at ease”.

The Lexus LY680 is exclusively available for order in Japan through the Toyota Marine sales offices and select dealers. Production will be handled by superyacht manufacturer Horizon Group in Asia, with the first deliveries anticipated in the spring of 2026. While Lexus has not disclosed pricing details, it’s anticipated to be in line with the previous model, which was listed at around $3.5 million before taxes and options

Interested parties can explore a 1/20 scale model of the LY 680 at the Japan International Boat Show in Yokohama. Depending on customer demand, Lexus may contemplate broadening the yacht’s availability to international markets.

M ar. 21—Given that Mark Zuckerberg enjoys a respectable 16th place on a list of the world's richest people, he probably figured it was time for him to acquire one of the ultimate status symbols for the mega-wealthy — a super yacht.

A new report from The Sun said that Zuckerberg is now the proud owner of a $300 million vessel that he has christened "Launchpad." The 387-foot-long vessel, which comes with a helipad and a $30 million companion boat, was seen docked this week at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with its unique chrome finish reflecting in the sun.

This purchase shows, among other things, that the Facebook and Meta founder and CEO has branched out from buying islands and building an underground complex to help him survive the apocalypse. Perhaps, he wants to cruise the Mediterranean this summer and be among the moguls who can play host to Leonardo DiCaprio.

The yacht definitely grants him admission to the watery playgrounds of such multibillionaires as Jeff Bezos, Larry Ellison, Bill Gates and any of the Russian oligarchs who haven't been the target of sanctions imposed by the United States or its allies over Russia's 2022 invasion of Ukraine.

In fact, Zuckerberg reportedly came by Launchpad due to the misfortunes of one of those oligarchs. The yacht originally was commissioned to be built by Vladimir Potanin, one of Russia's richest men who is on multiple sanctions list, according to a report by Autoevolution.com , a transportation industry site. The yacht was known as Project 1010, and the shipbuilder in the Netherlands was legally barred from delivering it to Potanin when it was completed in 2022, though Autoevolution also said that Potanin was not the yacht's actual owner.

It's not known when or how Zuckerberg acquired the yacht. Autoevolution reported that he had been seen at the Feadship shipyard in the Netherlands in December, showing "a clear interest in Project 1010."

The Sun reported that the yacht recently received "special permission" to be imported. It has since arrived in the United States, a couple months ahead of Zuckerberg's 40th birthday on May 14 — which raises the question of whether he meant Launchpad as a birthday gift to himself.
