REVIEW: Blue Bayou Fantasmic! Dining Package is a fun splurge for a great meal and prime viewing
Posted by Joey Inigo | Jul 31, 2022 | - Featured Articles , Disneyland Resort | 0

Fantasmic! is an unmistakable hallmark of the Disneyland experience and if you want plan to see the show, it’s important to know that all the prime spots require a pay-for-play voucher to get into reserved viewing areas for the Fantasmic! Dining Package. Although there are FOUR different ways to score a great spot to see the show, the most premium is going to be the $89 per person ($35 per child) Blue Bayou Fantasmic! Dining Package.
See below for our thoughts on the food, the views, and the process.
EDITOR’S NOTE: This posting was updated 01/16/23 to remove outtdated details on reservations.
There’s a fixed price for lunch or dinner and the menu is the same for either reservation period. Tax and gratuity are not included. Vouchers are only available for the first show of the evening.
- $89 per adult
- $35 per child (ages 3 to 9)
It’s the best possible view for the show right in the center section with the ability to go right up to the water’s edge. Although the show is great from just about any vantage point, there’s a special magic of seeing all the projections, lighting, and choreography from where it was stage to be viewed: right in the middle! Check out our video below from opening night when the show returned earlier this year.
The food at Blue Bayou does not disappoint but really the ambiance of the experience is why this popular spot commands top dollar. The menu items are essentially the same as the regular menu but there’s also a fantastic (and huge) Sorcerer Mickey themed dessert that is as delicious as it is pretty!
Here’s a complete look at Blue Bayou Fantasmic! Dining Package menu for adults and children.

Disneyland’s Blue Bayou Fantasmic! Dining Package Review

Join us for dinner as we take you through what an experience of the Blue Bayou Fantasmic! dining package looks like. This dining package comes with a high price tag so check out our review to see if it's worth the price for your family or group.
If you haven't heard of the Blue Bayou restaurant, you should know about it before considering this package. The Blue Bayou was once (and still is high on the list) the fanciest restaurant in Disneyland. When it first opened in 1967, it was common to see patrons dressed in their finest before dining in this establishment.
No need to worry about a dress code today- it is common for people to come wearing their regular ‘park clothes' and feel right at home. I always, personally, think it's more fun to dress up a bit more for this experience but it's not required at all. Come with us as we walk you through what our experience of this dining package was like!
Blue Bayou Now Serves Alcohol!
Blue Bayou now serves alcoholic beverages! Up until this point guests could only purchase alcohol from Oga's Cantina in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge or the exclusive private Club 33 .
The new drink additions include beverages such as wine, beer and a specialty Hurricane Cocktail. The alcohol is limited to the restaurant and guests are limited in their consumption the same way they are at Oga's Cantina.

In this planning guide:
One of the things that makes the Blue Bayou restaurant so spectacular is the atmosphere. This restaurant is located inside the popular Pirates of the Caribbean ride so while you dine you can watch the boats float by. Enjoy the sounds of crickets and frogs, the glow of the fireflies, and the peaceful night-time setting of a Louisiana bayou. The atmosphere truly transports you to another place.
The Blue Bayou Fantasmic! dining package works like many of the other dining packages at Disneyland. You will enjoy a three course meal and afterwards you will be given ticket vouchers to the Fantasmic! reserved seating for that same evening.
The Blue Bayou Fantasmic! dining packages offers the best seating for the Fantasmic! show which seats guests front and center of the show. This package also includes a Fantasmic! themed cushion (as seen below) to sit on during the show which you can keep as a souvenir.

The cushions
The pricing for this package for lunch and dinner is $89 per adult and $35 per child . Disney considers child pricing to include kids aged 3-9. If you have a child younger than three, they are allowed to eat off your plate. You may want to include their count in your dining reservation though so they give you enough chairs. Pricing does not include tax or gratuity.
I highly recommend making this reservation in advance due to its popularity and likely chance it will sell out. However, it doesn't hurt to ask at check-in if they've had cancellations either. You can make a dining reservation up to 60 days in advance.
Tables for this dining package are available starting at 11:30 AM for lunch and 4:00 PM for dinner—space is limited. Same-day reservations based on availability. Book online or call (714) 781-DINE or (714) 781-3463 between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM Pacific Time daily.
Fantasmic! Blue Bayou Dining Review
When you arrive for your dining experience, I recommend getting there 20 minutes early and asking for a water side table. Sitting next to the water will you give you a view like the one above and it's well worth the wait.
We arrived 10 minutes early but I knew since we were in a large group of six the chances of getting a waterside table were slim and since we were all hungry I didn't request one for this visit. We do this experience each year and I also wanted to come back to see if anything has changed from our experience last August (which you can read below) and was happy to find that everything is still as fantastic as usual.
Here is the pre-fix menu from our visit:

NOTE: The pre-fix menu changes often, be sure to check Disneyland's website prior to your visit for the most current options.
The menu is pretty much the same from last year with a few small differences like the change in desserts and appetizers.
We all decided to get a Mint Julep as our drink which is included if you so desire! If you've never had one before, I highly recommend it. It's a Disneyland staple and it's a nice perk to be able to get it as your drink here.

Your table will also get unlimited bread and butter to start with and to keep enjoying throughout your meal. My son always jokes that the bread is his favorite part! Bread service at Blue Bayou is currently suspended for all dining options, we really hope it returns SOON!

The best bread in the bayou!
Next we ordered our appetizers and as always, they did not disappoint.

Fried Calamari

Seafood Hush Puppies

French Onion Soup

The child's meal starter is a vegetable crudité with ranch dressing.
Everyone enjoyed their appetizers but the group favorite (even among one of the kids in our group!) was the Fried Calamari. The kids, however, were not overly thrilled by their vegetable crudite and it was left pretty untouched by both the kids in our group.
The service was great, they were extremely attentive to filling up all our Mint Juleps quickly. Since I'm a vegetarian and I don't like mushrooms, they were able to put together a simple pasta with cheese for me that I enjoyed on our last visit. It's never an issue to request something off the pre-fix menu for allergies or other dining restrictions, just make sure to note it on your reservation.
Next it was time for the main course!

Roasted Chicken Maison

Herb-crusted Rack of Lamb

Surf and Turf

My plain marina, noodles, and cheese dish.
Everyone enjoyed their food, the carnivores in our group were happy with all of their choices and said it was one of the best meals of our stay. But hands down, the atmosphere is what really makes this a great experience.
The dessert menu was changed a bit from our last visit which was exciting!

Vanilla Crème Brûlée

Kids meal option- Fondant Chocolate Cake
The kids in our group were not overly thrilled with the Fondant Chocolate Cake. Both of them said it was too sweet. I typically end up swapping desserts with my son since he's not a big chocolate fan. I always enjoy the Fondant Chocolate Cake but it is quite sweet. Be prepared for your kids to be eyeing up your cool dessert especially if you pick the Maleficent option. It's surrounded by cotton candy so I easily handed off that to my son and we split it. The Maleficent decoration on top is made of white chocolate. It was delicious!
To be honest, my favorite part of eating here for this dining package is the dessert. Make sure to save room!
We timed our dinner reservation so when we'd be done it'd be time to head over to the reserved viewing area. Same as on our last visit we were given the Blue Bayou cushions for the show and the ticket to the reserved viewing area.

I recommend lining up at 8PM. People will already be lining up by this point!
We were able to get front row spots in front of the rail just like we did last year! The front row view of Fantasmic! is the best way to watch it, in my opinion. As always, I recommend this experience and we had an excellent time!
Dining Review- August 2018
When you arrive for your dining experience, I recommend getting there 15 minutes early and asking for a water side table. Sitting next to the water will you give you a view like the one above and it's well worth the wait.
Take a look at our most recent dining experience at the Blue Bayou on August 10th, 2018.

The menu for the Fantasmic! dining package.

Each table is lit with a small lantern.

You can chose to order a Mint Julep as your drink, if you like.

Every table gets (unlimited) bread and butter.

I chose salad for my starter with the house dressing. It was very good!

My son chose Mickey's Cheesy Macaroni for his entrée. It came with grapes and broccoli- he loved it.
Since I am a vegetarian, I chose an alternative option (Disney is great at doing substitutions for allergies or other dietary needs like vegans/vegetarians, etc.) to the menu which was simply noodles with marinara sauce and cheese. It was delicious! They gave me a gigantic portion.

The Sorcerer Mickey dessert was to die for.
The child's option for dessert, the Fondant Chocolate Cake, was also heavenly.
Overall, I felt we received great food in large portions for the price we paid which helped justify the cost in my mind. My only regret is not saving more room for dessert! Make sure to save room at the end- the dessert is so good. The bread they served at the table was warm and delicious- they kept it coming too! The service was excellent, as it usually is at most table service restaurants in Disneyland.
When you make your dining reservation, the website or app will tell you which Fantasmic! show you will get reserved seating for. Make sure you pay attention to this so you get the seating for the show you want!
I always recommend the earliest showing so you can stay put in your reserved viewing location to watch the fireworks after Fantasmic!
We ate dinner at 5:45 and we took our time so it was around 7PM when we finished. That left us an hour to ride a few close by attractions before heading to our reserved seating area.
Fantasmic! Viewing Location

Our view from the Blue Blue Fantasmic! reserved viewing location.
After dinner you will be given your Fantasmic! themed cushions and your Fantasmic! reserved viewing tickets. DO NOT lose these tickets- this is how you will be admitted to your viewing location. They look like this:

Don't lose this!
Notice how the pass says to come back between 8-9PM. I recommend getting to your reserved viewing location right at 8PM or even ten minutes earlier. People will be lining up right at 8PM or sooner. Your ticket guarantees you a spot in this section but if you're like me and want front row viewing- show up early. Buy some snacks to enjoy while you wait to keep you busy. Enjoy the time to rest your legs a bit.
You can find the reserved viewing entrance near the Haunted Mansion- ask a cast member if you're unsure where to go and make sure you get in the correct line for the Blue Bayou Fantasmic! reserved viewing.
We arrived at 7:50PM and there was already about 15 people ahead of us in line. The cast members let us in the reserved area right at 8PM and we sat in the second row of people. Last year we sat in the first row and the railing obstructed our view a bit, the second row helps alleviate that problem.
Here's our view of the stage area from our Blue Bayou Fantasmic! reserved viewing:

Our view from the reserved viewing location.
The show will start promptly at 9PM for the first showing. Be courteous of those behind you and remain seated. No flash photography either!
Here's a few images from the show taken from our spot in the Blue Bayou Fantasmic! reserved viewing area.

Beginning of the show- notice the rail in the bottom of the photo I mentioned before.

Look at how close we are to the boats!

My favorite.

Almost close enough to touch. So cool.

The pirate scene is really neat this close up. You can really see the action.

My son's favorite part.

My favorite part!
Here you can watch two smaller clips from our Blue Bayou Fantasmic! viewing location:
As you can see, we had a great spot.
Overall, I highly recommend this experience if Fantasmic! is at the top of your list for your visit. The food and atmosphere at the Blue Bayou is well worth the high price tag. The reserved viewing location is great, even if you're not in the first or second row, you're going to have awesome views. I believe it was worth every penny. I always factor this dining experience into our trip planning costs now because I always enjoy it so much.
Bonus for First Fantasmic! Shows: Fireworks
I highly recommend you watch the first Fantasmic! performance at 9PM so you can watch the fireworks afterwards. When Fantasmic! ends, you will be instructed to stand for the fireworks before they start. You will then be able to watch the projections on a water screen directly in front of you while the fireworks go off to your right. This is absolutely one of my favorite places to watch the fireworks. Enjoy!
If there are high winds (which happens often) and the fireworks are cancelled they will still show projections on the water screen in front of you. It's always worth watching so stay tuned for that.
Enjoy our video above of the finale for the Pixar Fest “Together Forever” fireworks and book your dining package for your next trip! I hope you enjoy it as much as we always do.

Is the menu the same for the lunch version of the package?
They are very similar, you could call Disney Dining directly (714) 781-DINE) to find out the exact differences. From what I know they’re not too different.
IS THE SEATING TIERED, OR IS IT A FLAT AREA?
The seating is a flat area but you’ll have a good view regardless of where you’re seated in the viewing area. If you want to get first choice of your seat- line up 30 minutes early.
This was so helpful. We are going in July and taking my niece for the first time. We are definitely getting this reservation.
Have a good time! This is definitely my favorite way to watch Fantasmic!
Your site has great info! I’m an AP holder in Nor-Cal and drive up every couple months. There’s so many new things to experience all the time, we love it! Question, Do they always give out the seat cushions for the Fantasmic shows? I don’t see anything anywhere about them on Disneyland’s website. I know your visit was in 2018, but have you been there since and know if they still given these out? I’m going tomorrow (Jun 8 2019) for a week, and already have reservations at Blue Bayou. But I’m gonna look into the Fantasmic package since reading this!
Thanks! Jessica
Thank you for reading! Yes, I believe they are still given out. Every time we’ve done this dining package (usually once a year) we always receive cushions. You could always call Disney and ask just to confirm.
What time did you make your Blue Bayou dinner reservation for?
We made it for 6PM which gave us enough time to eat slowly and have plenty of time to go get our spots.
You always get the cushion. We have seen it so many times that we give our cushions and tickets away- we just really LOVE the special meal……. sometimes we go to show but it is really hard on our backs to sit there….. so even if we happen to watch show we still pay it forward with our cushions……. but usually it’s both.
That’s awesome, Robin! We have quite a large collection of cushions at this point so next show we see we’ll be giving them to someone who wants them when we’re done. 🙂
Do you still get the reserved seats for Fantasmic if you do the lunch package? Thank you.
Yes you do, if it’s the dining package!
According to the Disneyland website all Fantasmic dining packages reserved areas are standing room only. It also states if the show is cancelled, there are no refunds! We were so looking forward to booking the package at Blue Bayou. Your experience sounded wonderful. Do you think this is a new policy for 2020?
The disclaimer there is likely just for extraordinary circumstances when the parks might get so crowded that cast members will ask those in the dining package areas to stand. However, this is extremely rare and having done this dining package many times I’ve never been asked to stand. In fact I can’t even think of a recent instance where this happened so I’d feel confident that you shouldn’t be asked to stand during the show.
Just called Disneyland Guest Services and they said there are no seats for the Blue Bayou Fantasmic Dining Package. They give you the cushions so you can sit on the ground! I thought sitting meant on a chair, bench, etc. With older people in our party this will not work. I’m disappointed.
This is correct, it’s only ever been sitting space only- on the ground. The only provided seating with table/chairs is for the Upgraded option for the River Belle Terrace.
This may be repetitive, but is there a drink included with the dining package or its it extra? Also are the desserts from the lunch and dinner menu interchangeable (i.e. the vanilla creme brulee instead of the gingerbread on the lunch menu)?
Yes, a drink is included- you can even get a mint julep! As far as I know, you can’t swap out desserts for ones that aren’t present on the menu for when you dine but it can’t hurt to ask.
Can’t seem to get Dining Packages other than Hungry Bear for Fantasmic!
Dining becomes available 60 days prior to your park date and post to the Disneyland website by 6AM PT. To have the best chance of securing the dining packages, you will need to be ready to book your day the day dining opens up. If you’re past that date, your best bet is to just keep checking daily! Hungry Bear is a good option with a great viewing area, if you decide to go that route!
Purchased the Fantasmic package from the Blue Bayou and the cushion is not included in the package.
We hope they bring it back one day… along with the bread!
If there are NO cushions, do you have to stand or sit on the ground?
Does the Lunch package give you the best chance of getting the Fantastic ticket for the evening?
Does the Lunch package give you the best chance of getting the Fantastic ticket for the evening? Is a fantistic ticket guaranteed if you get the Lunch Package?
Yes, you will need to sit on the ground throughout the duration of the show. Either the lunch or dinner package will offer the Fantasmic! dining package at Bue Bayou.

Disneyland Fantasmic! Guide 2023: Show Times, Dining Packages, Seating Tips
Disneyland Fantasmic! is the best nighttime show at the Disneyland Resort currently running. Fantasmic! takes place in Frontierland and can be viewed via reserved seating from a dining package or general standby viewing.
In 2023, Fantasmic! turned 30 years old. This incredible nighttime spectacular has been updated and reshaped throughout the years, but the general premise of good vs evil battling it out to the same catchy Fantasmic! tune in Disneyland has remained.
In this guide to Disneyland Fantasmic!, we'll share info on reserved seating and dining packages, the typical nightly schedule and showtimes, tips for getting good seats for the show if you choose not to buy a dining package, and a short history of Fantasmic! at Disneyland.
In this article:
Fantasmic! at Disneyland 2023 Show Times
Currently the Disneyland entertainment schedule indicates that Fantasmic! will perform twice nightly at 9 pm and 10:30 pm.
During off seasons, Fantasmic! show times vary so check the Disney app for the most up-to-date schedule.
Disneyland Fantasmic! Viewing Options
The Fantasmic! show takes place along the Rivers of America in Frontierland and New Orleans Square. The walkways along the river area are roped off leading up to the show to create the Fantasmic! viewing area. The viewing area is really just slightly sloped concrete and brick area so you won't have a proper seat for the show. Part of the magic of this show is that during the day you would never know that as dusk settles the entire area is turned into a high tech performance theater – light towers emerge from the concrete and Tom Sawyer's Island is prepped to become the home of massive set pieces and props.
Prior to each show, two viewing sections are roped off: dining packages viewing and standby viewing. The dining packages have the best viewing placed right in front of the stage along the Rivers of America. Dining package viewers and the closest guests siting in standby will sit for the show. Guests in standby sections further back will remain standing.
Of course this may change depending on crowds so plan accordingly. Ask a Cast Members what is asked of you when you check in!
The standby viewing is first come first serve. Some guests will begin to line up up to 2 hrs before the show in hopes to securing a premium spot. There are designated standby viewing spaces throughout the area including directly in front of Pirates of the Caribbean (the most prime standby general viewing), on the bridge in front of Pirates of the Caribbean, on the upper tiers in front of New Orleans Square, and off center closer to the water. There are three mist screens that play the same video for the show facing center and left and right.
Even for the dining packages, you'll want to arrive earlier than the stated time on the paper reserved seating card so that you can secure a prime spot.
Although you do not need a dining package voucher to view Fantasmic!, standby areas fill up fast and do not guarantee you a place to view. For this reason, we recommend you consider watching the second showing of Fantamsic! of the night as that show has less time for guests to line up and stake out a spot.
You'll want to be in the area for the Disneyland fireworks and then move to secure a spot right as guests from the first show are exiting the viewing areas. The area is hectic and difficult to understand. You will receive conflicting information from Cast Members. During a recent trip we were able to hop into what seemed like a reserved seating area at the last minute because a Cast Member waved us in as we were walking just a short time before the show began. All that said, there isn't much method to the madness beyond our key tips of aiming for the second show or securing a dining package.
When waiting for the second showing of Fantastic! you should watch the Disneyland Forever fireworks from the area between Frontierland and New Orleans Square directly in front of the River Belle Terrace. This is closest to that prime standby viewing that I mentioned above. When the fireworks end, move forward into the seating area. Be sure to check with the crowd control Cast Members to avoid standing in an area that will be cleared for reserved dining package seating.
The better and more directly you can see Tom Sawyer's Island the better your experience watching the show will be. Here's the view from the most prime seat in the house within the dining package area for illustration. You'll locate this view within the reserved seating area by finding a manhole cover directly in front of the director's soundboard.
Is there a Disneyland Fantasmic! Virtual Queue for reserved seating?
Unlike the World of Color which offers guests the ability to secure reserved seating through a virtual queue at the middle of the day via the Disneyland app, Fantasmic! will not be offering a virtual queue for guests. For the World of Color show, the virtual queue fills the first show of the evening and then fills the second show of the evening.
Guests have the option of either purchasing a dining package for reserved seating or lining up to secure general guest viewing.
Disney has not ruled out completely that virtual queues will be used in the future. A Disneyland rep simply shared that there will be no Disneyland virtual queue for Fantasmic! at this time.
Disneyland Fantasmic! Dining Packages – Times, Restaurants, Info
Fantasmic! dining packages provide a pre-fix meal and reserved seating for Fantasmic! along the Rivers of America. Currently the restaurants offering these reserved seating packages are the River Belle Terrace and Hungry Bear Restaurant.
There is typically also a Blue Bayou Fantasmic! dining package, but that restaurant is still in the process of reopening and the Fantasmic! dining package has not yet returned. We expect that it will return sometime this summer.
Let's dive into the bellow dining packages for info how you can secure reserved seating for the shows. Keep in mind that typically you are more paying for the seat than for the food. The food quality ranges by restaurant.
The Blue Bayou
The Blue Bayou Disneyland Fantasmic! dining package offers guests a 3-course meal (starter, entrée, and dessert), an 18 x 18 foam cushion to sit on, and a voucher for a designated viewing of Fantasmic! Each guest in your party must purchase a dining package to receive a voucher. Having purchased this package in the past, I must say that it offers the best viewing of Fantastic! and is well worth the money spent!
Reserved seating at Blue Bayou Restaurant begins daily at 11:30am for lunch and 4:00pm for dinner. Lunch is $59 per adult; $29 per child (ages 3 to 9) – tax and gratuity not included. Dinner is $69 per adult and $29 per child (ages 3 to 9) – tax and gratuity not included. The higher price you pay with this package gets you the best viewing, right in front of the stage.
River Belle Terrace Disneyland Fantasmic! Dining Package
The River Belle Terrace Fantasmic! package includes a 3-course dinner (starter, entrée, and dessert) and reserved seating begins daily at 4:00pm. Dinner is $50 per adult and $30 per child (ages 3 to 9) – tax and gratuity not included.
Another great option with the River Belle Terrace option is the opportunity to upgrade to premium 8:00pm seating for an additional $25 per adult and $15 per child (ages 3 to 9). Guests can enjoy their meal as well as the first performance of Fantasmic! from their seat on the outdoor patio! We don't like this option as much as your view will be partially obstructed and would recommend watching from the closer water viewing area.
Fantasmic! On The Go Package at Hungry Bear Restaurant
If you are short on time, but would still like to take advantage of a Fantasmic! dining package, then simply reserve a dining package from the Hungry Bear Restaurant. Order online or by phone prior to your Disneyland Park visit.
You have the choice between 4 entrees from a menu created especially for this event – cedar salt-roasted sustainable salmon, barbecue chicken, blackberry barbecue pork riblets, or mushroom and leek frittata. All dishes are served with wild rice and cranberry-apricot grains as well as kale and garbanzo bean salad. The cost is $30 per adult and $25 per child.
Fantasmic! Dining Package Details
As with all Fantasmic! dining packages, all guests in each party must purchase a meal in order to receive a voucher. Viewing, with the exception of the River Belle Terrace upgrade, are located outside the restaurants.
The prime viewing areas for Fantasmic! are reserved for these dining packages. Once you are in the viewing areas you'll want to either be up against the railing in the first row or a couple of rows back. We personally choose to sit back a couple of rows to be able to see the entire show more clearly rather than having our faces pressed up against the metal grate. You won't want to sit between the front row and back row as then you'll end up with the top of railing blocking your view.
Some restaurants may allow some minor food substitutions at an additional cost, however, there is no guarantee this may be allowed.
Reservations are highly recommended due to the popularity of the packages. For dinner reservations, book early in the evening (about 2 to 2 1/2 hours before show time) to allow plenty of time to eat your meal. Factor in extra time for any delays. Reserve online up to 60 days before your Disney vacation from the Disneyland app.
Tips for Experiencing Fantasmic!
- Each Fantasmic! show comes with its own unique advantages. The first viewing is always the most crowded; however, this is the show time that you are guaranteed to be seated in your own dining package reserved seating area. During the second show time, sometimes the crowds lighten up, which is great since it is not so crowded, however, sometimes dining package seatings for this show time are combined.
- If you are at the first show time of Fantasmic! and fireworks are scheduled that night, then stay where you are to watch the Rivers of America put on a magical show with projections that play against the screens of water in sync with the fireworks show. Your view of the fireworks may be obscured, however, this is still a great place to be since chances are you may not make it over to the front of the castle to view the fireworks show.
- Be aware that Fantasmic! may be scary for little ones. The show can get bright, loud, and a bit scary at times.
- Blue Bayou is currently the only dining package that offers guests a complimentary seat cushion. No worries! Many gift shops around the Park have them to purchase!
- Since the show takes place on water, guests in front may get wet.
- Keep your Fantasmic! Fastpass in a safe place where you will not lose it because they are not replaceable!
- We prefer to view the show from a couple rows back in the first section instead of right up against the bars. Some call this Fantasmic! jail as it looks like you're looking out of a jail cell while viewing the show so directly up front.

Guests with disabilities should not rely solely on the viewing area Disney designates for guests with disabilities. This area, near the Haunted Mansion, does not provide the best view of Fantasmic! Instead, guests with disabilities should obtain a dining package voucher and arrive at least an hour before the show starts. Cast Members will assist guests with disabilities and their family on where to go in their designated area.
There is no specific DAS pass offering for Fantasmic! beyond the Cast Members who will be able to assist you with seating.
Brief History of Fantasmic! at Disneyland
In 1992, Disneyland's entertainment department was given the challenge to come up with a new nighttime spectacular, utilizing the Rivers of America. The result was Fantasmic!.
The show includes: fireworks, live performers, water effects, pyrotechnics, music, a few watercrafts, decorated rafts and projections onto extensive mist screens emphasizing reworked Disney animation. It was one of the first of its kind to incorporate all the elements into one amazing performance.
A significant part of the area around the Rivers of America was required to be revamped, including terracing the walkways to accommodate viewing and changing the front section of Tom Sawyer Island with the goal that it could act as a stage for most of the show's live action.
The show was originally set to run for 5 years. Due to the popularity with the resort’s guests, the show has been revamped many times over the years and had the latest technology added in. Five years ago the show went through a large redesign that led to the inclusion of newer characters including Rapunzel and Flynn Rider from Tangled and Captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean.
Versions of the show have also been performed at Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World and Tokyo DisneySea at the Tokyo Disney Resort. Fantasmic! at Tokyo DisneySea has been retired and will be replaced with a new nighttime spectacular. During a recent press day at the resort we met a creative headed to Tokyo to continue work on the new show. How exciting!
Below is a little more on the details of Fantasmic! at the Disneyland Resort in California.
Fantasmic! Show Overview, Scary For Kids?
Along the shores of Tom Sawyers Island, within the waters of the Rivers of America, Mickey Mouse creates a spectacular show using his brilliant imagination. Welcome to, Fantasmic! – Mickey transforms into Sorcerer Mickey where he conjures up clips from some favorite Disney movies – Fantasia , Aladdin , The Lion King , Tangled , and Pirates of the Caribbean – all on streaming screens of water.
Live action scenes come alive with such characters as Aladdin and Jasmine emerging from the fog to delight guests with their musical carpet ride; the Sailing Ship Columbia sails by with a ghost crew of pirates right out of the movie Pirates of the Caribbean ; and rafts adorned with colorful lights float down the river carrying such princesses as Beauty dancing with Beast, Rapunzel with her prince, Flynn Rider, and Ariel with her love, Eric.
Where there is good, there is always a whole lot of bad. That is true at Disneyland in Fantastic! as well. When Mickey is pulled through the magic mirror, things turn dark. Enter a fantastic show featuring some of Disney’s most infamous villains. Mickey is forced to fight an angry 45-foot dragon, which is the highlight of this amazing show. Of course, with all things Disney, the good prevails. In an epic finale, the Mark Twain Riverboat paddles its way along the river dotted with every Disney character imaginable.
Words alone cannot materialize the images all the fascinating water effects, lasers, pyrotechnics, fireworks, and live action scenes Fantasmic! brings to life.
For a literal play-by-play of the show itself (Note: SPOILERS!), check out this Wikipedia article.

Advice for Non-Fantasmic! Viewers – RIDE ON!
If you are not planning on viewing Fantasmic! or have already seen this magical one-of-a-kind show, the best advice I have is to take advantage of this time to experience attractions with a lower wait time throughout Disneyland Park.
Currently there are three nighttime spectaculars playing in Disneyland Park on its own (not even including World of Color in Disney California Adventure). Once the first showing of the Main Street Electrical Parade begins at 8:45 pm, there is an entire block of time occupying a large amount of guests in the parks which will lead to lower wait times. This is a perfect argument for having a three day or longer ticket to the parks. This way you can watch the Disneyland shows one night, World of Color the next, and finally end with low wait times during the shows.
During the Fantasmic! showings during our most recent trip we saw Star Tours with a 10 minute wait, Space Mountain at 45 mins, Rise of the Resistance with a 40 minute wait (!), and Big Thunder Mountain at a 25 min wait during these shows. A great time to ride!
If you decide to experiences attractions in the Frontierland area, be aware of the large crowds around Fantasmic! and that there will be intense guest control efforts to keep you moving through the area. We typically try to avoid the area unless we are walking directly to an attraction like the Haunted Mansion or Pirates of the Caribbean.

Chairs? What means this chairs? When we did a Blue Bayou dinner for Fantasmic they sat us on the ground in front of the river. I would have sat there! Dad needed one! 77 yr old man & expected him to sit on hard cement for two hours!
Where can we call for reservation? I can’t see it on the disney website, only the dining options appear.

Disneyland’s Blue Bayou – Walk-Up Dining Review

On Sunday, June 5, I had the opportunity to return to the Blue Bayou in Disneyland’s New Orleans Square by using the walk-up list. As reported by DAPS MAGIC, Friday, June 3 was the first day the restaurant reopened to guests after being closed during a majority of the current Pirates of the Caribbean refurbishment. Because Pirates is still wrapping up its finishing touches through the end of the month (it is scheduled to reopen on July 1, 2022), the only way to experience the Blue Bayou at this time is by joining the walk-up list. Guests may do this by using the Disneyland app or by speaking with a Cast Member in person at the restaurant.
Because of its enigmatic setting within the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, as well as its popularity as a venue to mark special occasions, the Blue Bayou is generally one of the hardest dining reservations to secure across the Disneyland Resort. The chance to eat at this hallmark locale with only limited preparation is a rare one, but it does come with a key trade-off during this mid-refurbishment period. The signature view of the Bayou with its boats serenely gliding by has been replaced with a construction wall (granted, as lovely a wall as such a thing can be). While your mileage may vary on whether this is a deal-breaker for you and your party, I can say that the experience still felt special to me, and is worth your consideration.

Since its opening in 1967, the Blue Bayou has been known for its quintessentially New Orleans fare with an elevated twist. This is still true today, although guests will notice a slightly updated and simplified menu (see the full menu here ). For at least the time being, both lunch and dinner offer the same meal options for starters, entrees, and desserts, as opposed to the standard separate lunch and dinner menus. Some notable items held over from the past are the Chicken Gumbo and Blue Bayou Salad starters, the signature Monte Cristo sandwich paired with a seasonal salad, and the delectable Vanilla-Bourbon Crème Brûlée dessert. New items include the Heirloom Tomato & Watermelon Salad and the Hearts of Palm Escabèche starters, as well as the plant-based Fava Bean & Pistachio Pesto Pasta. Chicken Jambalaya, Sustainable Market Fish and Filet Mignon round out the entrée options. Prices for starters range from $7-$14, from $28-$52 for entrées, and from $9-$10 for desserts. New as of 2021, the Blue Bayou is one of the few locations in Disneyland Park to offer adult beverages. A selection of wines, beers, and a Hurricane cocktail join the traditional non-alcoholic Mint Julep, specialty lemonades, and sodas as fitting pairings for the cuisine. Magic Key discounts do apply to food and non-alcoholic beverages. A secondary version of the same menu is also available as a prix fixe dining package for those who wish to view Fantasmic! from a prime reserved location later the same evening. For the flat rate of $89 for adults, diners may select a starter, an entrée and a package-specific dessert. The kids’ version of the dining package is $35 and includes a create-your-own meal featuring a starter, an entrée, two sides, a dessert, and either a small milk or bottled water. Guests choosing the dining package should ask their server before ordering, as the amount of show tickets available each day is limited. Diners may select either the first or second showing of Fantasmic! , contingent on availability.

My Experience
The Blue Bayou is one of my favorite dining experiences at the Disneyland Resort, although my visits there tend to be more as a special treat than a routine. I was excited to try out the walk-up system to see how challenging it would be to get a table at short notice. My test began around 4pm, just in time for the restaurant to switch over to dinner, but still early enough to miss the rush. I opened the Disneyland app as soon as I entered the park and navigated straight to the Blue Bayou restaurant page. From there, I selected the ‘Join Walk-Up List’ option. Thankfully, space was available, and the wait was estimated at just 15 minutes. This proved to be better than predicted, however, because I received the return text message even before I made it to New Orleans Square from Main Street, U.S.A.

When I arrived, there were few guests in the waiting room. I was seated promptly at what would have been a waterside table had that been a thing right now. My immediate impression was that while the construction wall did make the space feel somewhat claustrophobic at first, that sensation soon faded. Even being seated directly next to it did not dampen my experience. Instead, I found my attention being drawn to the elements of the space I often overlook when focusing on the Bayou—the details of the stately mansion setting with its wisteria-lined walls and the romantic glow of lanterns overhead. Even the music and sound effects helped to enrich the environment. On a previous visit, the DAPS MAGIC team was disappointed to hear generic jazz music that didn’t fit the theme. This time, I was pleased to notice the strains of authentic New Orleans jazz and gospel, which when combined with the low croak of bullfrogs and the hum of crickets made me nostalgic for my time in the Big Easy.

Having been away from the Blue Bayou for almost a year, I felt compelled to order the classic Monte Cristo sandwich ($29). I paired it with a Hurricane cocktail ($16) for a little extra zip. My drink came to the table quickly, and was a welcome, cooling, delightful refreshment on a warm day. The authentic passion fruit, orange, and rum flavors were all present and balanced. The sweetness of the drink made it one that could be dangerous if sipped too quickly, though. My sandwich arrived without delay as well, and it lived up to the legendary reputation the Disneyland Monte Cristo carries. This version came in three generous sections, piled high with turkey, ham, and swiss cheese and dusted lightly with powdered sugar. The fried coating was decadently crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Two dipping sauces enhanced the sandwich’s sweet/savory combination—strawberry preserves and a custard-like vanilla anglaise. My preference was to add both the strawberry and vanilla together to bring out the smoky flavor of the meat. Balancing out the meal was a modest field green salad topped with a flavorful herbed vinaigrette and halved strawberries. I appreciated the contrast of the light salad with the rather heavy, decadent sandwich. I prefer this combination to the Monte Cristo served with pommes frites that are available at neighboring Café Orleans. Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend trying out the Blue Bayou during this transition time. I believe that the current trade-off of easier access for a modified ambiance is a fair one. The only thing I left regretting is that I couldn’t ride Pirates of the Caribbean after my meal, something that has become a post-Blue Bayou tradition. Only the calming whisper of the boats going by, the lapping of the water, and the faint glow of fireflies could have made my experience better, and at least in my mind, that’s saying a lot. This is our 6th trip to Disneyland with our 4 kids (now 17, 15, 13, 10) and eating at the Blue Bayou has always been on my bucket list and this trip is the trip!! Anyone do one of their dining packages lately? How was it? My kids are not picky eaters, but anyone know where I can find the menu for the lunch and dinner packages to see which they would prefer. Thanks in advance, from a very cold Canadian. (-39 without a wind chill today!)

Disneyland App is the best! Lunch and dinner are the same. It’s our favorite place! We always schedule an early dinner (4ish). We love getting a waterfront table and the wait for those at 4pm is minimal. If you haven’t done Fantasmic before, then the package is worth it IMO.

My kids are 9, 13, and 15. Simple eaters. And they all LOVE Blue Bayou for Fantasmic dinner. It pains my heart when they leave some food on their plates but at that point what’s it matter anymore. The seating for Fantasmic can’t be beat. It’s one of our favorite experiences to indulge in.

Other than the difference between the monte Cristo and the surf and turf, what is the difference between the F! Lunch vs dinner options? Are portion sizes different, for example?

So, probably a dumb question, but just confirming (since an image search for the lunch menu in the last year or so doesn't turn anything up) - the Monte Cristo is definitely on the lunch menu for the Fantasmic package, right?

All About the Blue Bayou & Fantastmic! Dining Package
April 5, 2021 October 25, 2019 | Angela Coate

The Blue Bayou restaurant is known for being one of Disneyland’s most popular and captivating dining experiences. Add my personal favorite show to the mix and it’s a match made in heaven.
If you’re looking to maximize your time and experience at the “happiest place on earth” this is the perfect opportunity to combine two of my highly recommended activities.
My family and I have indulged in this package on several occasions.
Each time, we are completely immersed in the magic and captivated by the mouthwatering food, iconic New Orleans views, pirates, and of course, Mickey Mouse as he battles epic villains and encounters sweet princesses amid his nightmare Fantasmic!
For $75 per adult and $35 per child (not including tax & gratuity), this package offers a scrumptious 3-course dinner, followed by reserved viewing smack dab, front and center of the Fantastmic! stage.
It’s important to note, the reserved viewing for this show will have you be seated on the ground. No chairs or benches are offered and standing is prohibited. Wheelchair users will be able to remain in their chair.
Join me as I share my latest experience, meal options (including allergy friendly items), wheelchair accessibility, and details on where you’ll be able to view the show.
Planning Your Blue Bayou Dining Experience
The Blue Bayou is one of the most sought out restaurants in all of Disneyland. I highly recommended that you book your reservation in advance.
Reservations can be booked online through the Disneyland website (or by calling Disney Dining at ( 714) 781-3463 ) and may be reserved up to 60 days in advance . The same applies even if you are just booking the dinner without the show.
Of course, you must have a valid park ticket to enter the restaurant.
If there is more than one Fantasmic! performance (there are usually two) scheduled on the day of your visit, be sure to pay attention to which show time corresponds with your dining reservation.
My family and I prefer the first show because once the show ends, it’s the perfect spot to watch the nightly fireworks. Plus, the first show is a good option if you don’t want to stay out too late.
During the reservation process, you will find an option to add special requests if you require any. Here you will have the opportunity to mention any food allergies and/or if you need wheelchair access.
Some restaurants are tight and dark inside which can make navigating through the table and chairs difficult, so it is helpful to check the option for wheelchair access if you need it.

First, you’ll have the opportunity to specify any food(s) that you or someone in your party may be allergic to. This request will allow you to receive a special allergy friendly menu once you get to the restaurant.
You are also able to talk directly to the chef if you need. Just let the cast member know when you are seated.

Next, you’ll have the option to request wheelchair accessibility if you need it.
I always request it for this restaurant in particular because it’s challenging to see in the darkened atmosphere and maneuvering through the crowd of tables/chairs can be tricky.
Requesting wheelchair accessibility will not hinder you from having a waterfront table viewing the ride.

On the day of your reservation, I recommend arriving to the restaurant at least 10-15 minutes early to check-in.
If you would like to be seated along the water, this is the time to request it. This request cannot be guaranteed, but sometimes you may get lucky!
Check-in is located outside the restaurant to the right of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride exit.
If you are in a wheelchair, you and your party will be taken through the exit of the ride to enter the restaurant. (The main entrance has stairs.) A cast member will help you navigate your way to your table.
Dining Inside the Blue Bayou
The Blue Bayou will begin serving alcohol upon reopening April 30, 2021.

Once you’re seated, you’ll receive a menu (and a special “allergy friendly” menu if you requested one). The menu should be equipped with a light inside to make reading it a bit easier.
Sometimes, the light doesn’t work or may not be bright enough. In this case, I recommend using the flashlight on your smartphone .
The Blue Bayou & Fantastmic dining package is priced at $75 per adult or $35 per child , not including tax and gratuity.
Dinner includes a delicious 3-course meal that I can only describe as a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I almost guarantee your mouth will be watering for more!
Keep reading to check out the delectable appetizers, entrées, and desserts my family and I enjoyed.
See the button below for full menu options. (Menu options may change slightly during some seasons.)
One of my absolute favorite things about the Blue Bayou is the atmosphere. From the moment you enter room, you are transported to a New Orleans setting with the added twist of literally being inside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.
If you are fortunate enough to get a seat near the water, you’ll even be able to watch as the boats go by!

Food, Food, & More Food
Before your appetizer arrives, you’ll be given a bowl of dinner bread with the most delicious herbed butter.
As you may have noticed, I neglected to get a photo of the bread. Let that be a testament to how delicious it is!
My family and I dove into that bread so fast, it never had a chance! We found it to be super light and airy, with a hint of seasoning that left us craving more. But we didn’t want to fill up on too much bread before our meal.
For my appetizer, I ordered the New Orleans Gumbo with white rice on top. It had a robust, tangy flavor that left a bit of a kick on my tastebuds from the spices. The white rice complemented the soup well as I thought it tamed some of the spiciness.

For my entrée, I ordered the Roasted Chicken Maison. It came with the most heavenly tasting mashed potatoes and seasoned vegetables that was placed ever so intricately on the plate.
The sauce you see drizzled on the plate is called Vermouth Jus. It’s made from a dry white wine that serves as one of the best tasting marinades I’ve ever had.
This chicken dinner is my favorite in all of Disneyland. The meat is so tender and moist it practically melts in your mouth.
The mashed potatoes are lusciously creamy and bursting with flavors from the Vermouth Jus marinade. And the seasoned veggies (carrots and green beans) are cooked to perfection. Even if you aren’t a chicken lover, this plate just might impress you.

My father ordered the butter brushed Bone-In Rib Eye with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. He absolutely loved it and savored every moment.
The meat was prepared exactly to his specifications and the serving size was generous (which makes every man a happy camper!). The mashed potatoes were extra creamy and the seasonal vegetables included crisp, long-stemmed broccolini.

My mother ordered the Fresh Catch of the Day. On this particular day, it happened to be her favorite, Wild Salmon.
In addition, her meal included mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables surrounded in a special Chef’s Seasonal Sauce. As you can tell from the picture, the fish is a very generous size. There is also a light glaze on the fish that has adds a bit of sweetness to your palette. Another highly recommended meal!

Oh sweet dessert. One of the perks of this dining package is the included dessert. My family and I ordered both options, the Vanilla Bean Crème Brûlée and the 8-Layer Chocolate Hazelnut Cake. All I can say is YUM!
The Vanilla Bean Crème Brûlée melts in your mouth like cotton candy. It is drizzled with a hint of powdered sugar and includes fresh raspberries and a Madeleine cookie. Your tastebuds with scream in delight.
The 8-Layer Chocolate Hazelnut Cake is a dream come true for any chocolate lover out there. It is incredibly rich and downright soothing to the soul. I think I moaned in pleasure with every bite. Definitely recommend this if you crave a slice of pure chocolate heaven.

After your meal, each person in your party will receive reserved viewing tickets for the Fantastmic show and a souvenir.
The current souvenir is a an adorable purple, portable pad for you to use when watching the Fantastmic! show. Read on to find out why you’ll come to appreciate this little souvenir.

Reserved Viewing for the Fantastmic! Show
Your reserved viewing ticket will give you a designated time to check-in for the show. Usually it’s 30 minutes prior to the show starting.
Entrance to the viewing area begins over near the churro cart in front of the Haunted Mansion. Look for the sign that says reserved viewing. A cast member will take your ticket and direct you down the appropriate path.
In case you weren’t aware, reserved viewing for Fantastmic! requires everyone (except people in a wheelchair) to sit on the ground and stay seated during the entire show.
So, remember that funny little souvenir you received from the Blue Bayou? It will come in handy for those who will be sitting on the ground.
Don’t let this distract you, though. You will have a spectacular view of the show – front and center!

If you use a wheelchair like I do, you and your party will still be placed in the front row. You will be directed to park directly behind those who are seated on the ground. There will be a small walkway behind you, followed by a wall.
The people behind you will be elevated (up a few stairs) so they will be able to see over you without a problem.
It is possible that you may get wet or misted during parts of the show, depending on the weather or if there is a breeze.
If you’re concerned about getting wet, you can buy a poncho ahead of time at most stores in the park. Or if you want to save some money, I recommend purchasing one on Amazon .
During the show, if you need to leave for any reason, there are cast members nearby to lead you out. You can usually spot them holding a flashlight and keeping the walkways clear of traffic.

In case you couldn’t tell, the Blue Bayou and Fantastmic dining package is pure magic in every way imaginable. My family and I have enjoyed this package for several years, and it never disappoints.
We usually book it on the last day of our trip and call it our “grand finale”. It’s the perfect way to end your vacation or day with a bang, literally!

Blue Bayou Fantasmic! Review
- Disneyland for Grown Ups
- Find info by topic

Updated June 13, 2022
With a Fantasmic! dining package, you will pay for your meal and with it, you’ll receive a “FASTPASS” that saves you a spot in a great location to watch Fantasmic! later that evening.
I dined at 8:30pm, so I was slated for the 10:30pm Fantasmic! If I had hustled through dinner, I could have walked out to see the Fireworks at 9:30pm. But, I wanted to take my time.
Take a look at all of your options for Fantasmic! within this post .
Let’s take a look at all the details.
***Tax and gratuity are not included.
Adults (age 10 and over) – $72 for dinner; $62 for lunch
Kids (age 3-9) – $29 for lunch or dinner
Infants (up to age 2) – FREE (children age 2 and under do not have to pay for the meal and do not have to have a FASTPASS to enter the viewing area; a meal will not be provided to your child; he or she can eat off your plate)
Dining times for Blue Bayou start each day at 4:00pm. When you book – online or on the phone directly with Disney – you will learn which show your dining time is assigned to. The FASTPASS that you receive that allows you into your viewing location will state this show time, too. You may not attend a show other than the one your FASTPASS assigns you to.
Dining packages are always popular at Disneyland and with the return of Fantasmic!, these are in high demand. Do not hesitate to book your package now. If you change your mind on using it, cancel within 24 hours of your dining time so that your credit card on file is not charged the $10 per person cancellation penalty. These packages do not require pre-payment. All you have to do now is make the reservation. The app does not allow you to make these reservations. You must use the Disneyland site or call Disney directly at (714) 781-DINE (3463) between 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM daily (Pacific Time) to book.
Annual Pass discounts apply to all dining packages, but the discount won’t apply to the upgraded portion of your bill. For example, if you booked the Upgraded Blue Bayou package, you will receive your discount on the $65 per person portion, but not the $25 upgrade per person.
Dining packages can be booked 60 days out from the day you plan to dine at Disneyland.
Book this package online here .
Here are the menus (adult and child) for Blue Bayou. These options are different from the regular menus offered.
With a regular Blue Bayou reservation, you can order as you wish from the normal menu. Dining Packages include prix fix menus.
Blue Bayou opened in 1967 and has always been old school fabulous. Decades ago, guests were rarely seen in anything other than suits and dresses at this location. It was and is THE premiere dining at Disneyland.
The restaurant is housed inside the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction and you will see the boats float by as you dine. If you’re interested in a water-side table (there are only about 15 tables located right next to the water), go by the reservation podium located at the front of the restaurant about 30 minutes prior to your reservation time and ask if you could please sit water-side. Your wait may be a little longer than expected, but many guests think this is an essential part of dining at Blue Bayou.
Here is the dining room:

And, a peek at one of the boats floating by:

Where the Viewing Location is and When to Arrive
After paying your bill, you’ll receive a “FASTPASS” that looks like this:

You’re directed to arrive near the Haunted Mansion, but the entrance is actually closer to Harbour Galley.
I didn’t see a clear sign that read “Blue Bayou”, but here is where I went in:

This the best viewing spot for Fantasmic! You will sit on the ground with a dead center view of Tom Sawyer Island, where the show is based. You will have an iron railing in front of you, but it won’t affect your view or experience.

Visit my review on River Belle Terrace for photos from essentially the same spot since these two sections are right next to each other. (I couldn’t take photos during the show I saw from the Blue Bayou section because I was videoing. I’m assuming there’s some techy voodoo I could do to take some still shots from my video, but that won’t be happening anytime soon. I can barely work my VCR.)

Depending on when you dine, you will have a Return Ticket or “FASTPASS” for one of two shows – typically scheduled for 9:00pm or 10:30pm.
If you are seeing the 9:00pm show , arrive by 8:00pm to claim your spot. A few minutes after the show ends, Fireworks will begin (if they’re scheduled and weather doesn’t deter them). Stay right where you are for Fireworks. Don’t try to make it over to the castle. It’s too hectic and you won’t make it in time. Stand up after Fantasmic! ends (you’ll be directed to on the loud speaker) and watch Fireworks from where you watched Fantasmic! (More details below.)
If you are seeing the 10:30pm show , watch Fireworks (if they’re scheduled and weather doesn’t deter them) from wherever you wish and then head over to the viewing section as soon as they end. The later show sometimes allows all three dining package option guests to sit in the same section, which is the center. So, you will want to grab a spot as soon as Fireworks end. Every night is different. There’s no guarantee that all three dining package option guests will sit together. If enough packages were sold, then the sections will remain separate. Otherwise, they combine them to allow guests with FASTPASSES to fill in more space. You can watch them from the viewing area that you will sit in to watch Fantasmic! It’s open to everyone. Then, when the ropes go up to start reserving space for the dining packages, you can be right there ready to claim your spot.
Everything moves quickly here. 9:00pm Fantasmic!, 9:30pm Fireworks, 10:30pm Fantasmic! Cast members are great at keeping people moving. Know ahead of time where to go and you’ll have great views for all shows.
If fireworks are scheduled for the evening you watch Fantasmic! (with or without a dining package), and you’re slated for the first Fantasmic!, stay right where you are for the show.
Click on this link to see if fireworks are scheduled for your visit.
You’ll be advised to stand (by the magical voice on the Disneyland loud speaker), but it’s a great place to watch fireworks, as you can see them shooting off in all the locations. Projections that accompany the show are visible on a water screen (like World of Color), in front of Tom Sawyer Island.
So, as you can see from this photo, fireworks are going off to the right and then the projections are in front of you. These are the same projections you will find on the castle and the it’s a small world facade.
(Fireworks are not part of the dining package and are never guaranteed.)

- My meal was excellent, as was the service and ambiance. Blue Bayou rarely disappoints. It’s an expensive ticket, but I have yet to have a bad experience at this restaurant. It seems like a well oiled machine – perhaps because it’s been serving guests for many decades.
- Don’t shy away from Blue Bayou if you have young children. Families dine here all the time. There is no dress code. Everyone arrives in park clothes. While this is a “fancy” restaurant, it’s available to everyone and I encourage you to experience it at least once in your Disneyland visits.
- Disneyland is super accommodating with food allergies. If you have specific needs, share those when you book online in the section provided. If you call in to book, let the cast member helping you know your needs. Then, when you check in at your dining time, reiterate those details again.
- If you are concerned about your kids being loud or disruptive, River Belle Terrace or Hungry Bear On the Go might be better options for you. River Belle has dining space outside and Hungry Bear has outside seating with the option to take your food and go.
- The earlier Fantasmic! Blue Bayou section is easier to find a spot in compared to what I experienced with River Belle Terrace. However, I would still arrive an hour prior to showtime just to be safe. This is a pricey event. Make sure you get a good view.
- Only Blue Bayou and River Belle Terrace dining package sections should be allowed to sit on the ground during the show. The other sections require guests to stand, which fits more people into the space.
- Within each dining package section, guests in wheelchairs or ECVs are stationed near the back of the section so that they’re not blocking other guests’ views since they’ll be sitting on the ground. Feel free to enjoy any of the dining packages and know you can sit with everyone in your party within in the dining package sections noted on the map above.
- I have sat front row, right by the iron railing for this show several times and never had an issue with getting wet. However, several readers have told me that they got SOAKED. If the wind is blowing in the direction of the crowd, be prepared to get a little or a lot wet. Set up in the middle of the section if this is a concern.
- You can find my review on River Belle Terrace’s Fantasmic! package at this link . It’s less expensive, more casual, but doesn’t include a parade cushion.
- You can find my review on Hungry Bear On-The-Go at this link . It’s the least expensive option and has food you can grab and take with you if you wish.
