Super Mario World/Donut Plains/Donut Ghost House
The Donut Ghost House is the first ghost house in Super Mario World , excluding secret levels. To complete the House you have to go all the way to your right and take the door. Once on the other side, keep heading left and take the next door. Hit the yellow block and a P-Switch will pop out. Press it, but don't take the silver door that will appear. Wait there until the Switch times out and then take the door again. Hit the yellow block and this time a vine will pop out. Take it and you'll find the exit.
There is a secret exit at the beginning of the level that you must fly up to at the far left top that will take you to the alternate exit. This alternate exit will open the path to the Top Secret Area .

The Donut Ghost House is the first Ghost House on your travels through Dinosaur Land. You must quickly learn one thing: the obvious path will only lead to traps. You must outsmart the Ghost House and see through its tricks if you want to complete the level. Yoshi can't enter the Ghost Houses, so you'll be on your own.
Walkthrough [ edit ]

- In this room, ghosts will swoop down from the ceiling to hit you. They're invulnerable so you can't do anything but evade them. Other than that, the room is relatively unspectacular.
- Run to the end and enter the door you see to get to the next area.

- Your target is the door up at the top. Unfortunately, the first time you are here, you won't be able to reach this door in any way. Instead, enter the other door in this room to get to the third area.
- When you return here from the third area, you will be on the bottom ledge. Hit the turn block to reveal a vine. This vine allows you to climb up to the door at the top, which leads to the goal tape.

- You start on the bottom ledge. The turn block contains a P-Switch, and you can jump through the stairs to get up. It might seem obvious to step on the P-Switch and enter the hidden door the coin arrow points to, but this is just a trap and won't get you anywhere. Instead, enter the door on the right to return to the second area.
Secret Exit [ edit ]
To find the secret exit, you will need to be Cape Mario. At the very beginning, get some running speed and fly through the ghost ceiling to the top to discover a hidden corridor. The entry point is directly above the start position.
Follow it all the way to the end and drop down to come across four turn blocks, each holding a 1-up mushroom. Enter the door at the end to get to the goal tape, which unlocks the secret exit rather than the normal one.

Overview [ edit ]
Donut Secret House is one of two Ghost Houses in Donut Plains . This level consists of two main rooms, a boss room, and a hallway used to reset the second room. There is a 400 second Time Limit to clear the level. It contains no Dragon Coins in the original SNES version.
In the first room, the player will have to navigate their way past Circling Boo Buddies . After the Boo Buddies, the player will encounter a single Eerie and a Big Boo . If the player activates the Switch Block , the Empty Block will turn into a coin , and the Jumping Board that was on top of it will fall down, allowing the player to jump over the Big Boo easily. There is then a short series of staircases, under which is a platform that is inaccessible from this room. There is a single ? Block above the inaccessible platform containing a 1-Up Mushroom . The door at the top of the stairs leads the player to the second room.
Exits [ edit ]
After traversing the first room and entering the second room, the direction of travel is switched and there is another group of Boo Buddies. Just past that point is a small platform with five coins on it. In order to access the standard exit, these coins must first be collected, and then the Switch Block on the leftmost end of the room should be activated, revealing a Blue Door on said platform. If the coins are not collected, the player will not be able to access the Blue Door as it will be surrounded by empty blocks during the duration of the Switch Block activation.

In order to get to the secret exit, the player must still activate the Switch Block, revealing three ? Blocks in the floating arrangement of Rotating Blocks to the left of the Blue Door, making it possible to stand on what was previously empty space. The player needs to stand on the middle ? Block and hit the Rotating Block directly above. A Beanstalk will then appear, which must quickly be climbed to access a long platform, at the end of which is a another Blue Door. (The Switch Block must not have timed out in order for the door to still be there.) The door leads to the boss room with one Big Boo and two small Boos. The Big Boo must be defeated by throwing Grab Blocks at him. The boss is harmless to the player but the regular Boos are not. The player must be careful not to create a hole in the floor and fall through it. After the Big Boo is hit three times, he will be defeated, leading to Star World 1 . This is the only level with a secret exit that is not accessed by either a keyhole or a Giant Gate .

- In the SNES Japanese version, the walls at the end of the two main rooms in the level are not extended to fill the whole screen.

Beating the Doughnut Ghost House the secret way?

- Enter the Ghost House with a Cape. Immediately upon starting the level, run right, then back left, and fly up to the left corner of the screen, above the mass of Boos. You'll see a lot of wooden blocks making up a floor; run right along it. Eventually you'll drop down to a floor which has four blocks, each containing a 1-Up Mushroom. Collect these(while being careful not to get smothered to death by the many Boos here), then go through the door on the right. You'll see a Goal Post; that's the secret exit. Now enjoy your newly uncovered Top Secret Area. Distant_Rainbow ( Expert ) - 12 years ago - report 3 0
- Start with a cape. Run to the right until the end of the first platform. Then run back and at the point where you started you jump in the air. With the cape you can jump higher, so you will be able to jump on the high platform that you first couldn't see. Run to the right until you reach the end and jump down. Now you see 4 blocks. Go through the door and jump through the goal! GeorgeFrommel - 12 years ago - report 0 0

Normal Exit
Cape categories, no cape categories & small only.
On the second room spin jump once at the bottom of the stairs to make the Boo go to the left and a second time near the top to get p speed back faster, spin jump in front of the Boo with p speed and bounce on it to lure it to the left. Jumping in front of the Boo can be tight, going behind it and spin jumping on it is a slower but easier option.
Secret Exit
This exit can only be obtained with a cape
Getting a 281 with this method is very precise, 280 is far more common

Donut Ghost House

Donut Ghost House is the first, and most simple of the Ghost Houses . You can get there by getting the normal exit on Donut Plains 2 or Donut Secret 1 . The only thing that makes this level recognizable is the fact that the secret exit leads to the Top Secret Area .
On closer inspection in Lunar Magic, it's actually the NORMAL exit that goes to the Top Secret Area, while the secret exit goes to Donut Plains 3. Super Mario Advance 2 corrected this.

Overview [ ]
The level starts in a long room with a Ghost Ceiling . Simply run straight ahead, but be careful not to stay in one place too long. The longer you stay in a spot, the more Boos that will float towards you. At the end of the room is a door. Enter it, and in the next room simply enter the door to the right. You will end up "below" the door. Hit the Turn Block to the left to find a P-Switch . Hit the P-Switch to reveal a door on a platform to the left. Entering the door will take you to a block with Directional Coins inside, but leaving the room will simply take you back to the room with the Turn Block. So what do you do? You enter the door to the right, but instead of getting the P-Switch in the Turn Block, enter the door again. This time, hit the Turn Block to create a vine upwards. Climb this to find a door to the Giant Gate .
To find the secret exit, enter the level with a cape. Build speed by running back and forth along the ground, then fly into the upper left corner of the room. You'll find a hole. Fly up through this, the run right. Eventually you'll reach a hole. Fall down in this to find four Turn Blocks, three containing 1-Up Mushrooms and one containing a vine back, and a door that leads to a Giant Gate that unlocks the path to the Top Secret Area.
