Hunt Prey [one-action] The duskwalker designates as its prey a single creature that it can see and hear or that it is Tracking. It gains a +2 circumstance bonus to Perception checks when it Seeks its prey and a +2 circumstance bonus to Survival checks when it Tracks its prey. It also ignores the penalty for making ranged attacks within its second range increment against its prey. Lastly, it gains a +2 circumstance bonus to Deception checks, Intimidation checks, and Stealth checks against its prey and to any check to Recall Knowledge about its prey, as well as a +1 circumstance bonus to AC against its prey’s attacks. The duskwalker can have only one prey designated at a time.

Hunted Shot [one-action] Frequency Once per round; Effect The duskwalker makes two longbow Strikes against its hunted prey. If both Strikes hit, combine their damage for the purpose of resistances and weaknesses.

Duskwalkers are infused with the same energies as psychopomps. These ashen scions are reborn on the Material Plane to serve as guardians of the cycle of life and death.

Book indicates Wrin can teach Ghost Hunter archetype. It does not mention cost. It also does not mention how long it would take. Archives do not indicate this fact either. Well, at least that I can fine.

James Jacobs

The adventure assumes that the PCs and Wrin have a good relationship, and that she'll teach them the ghost hunter archetype for free—their friendship and association with Wrin is all that is needed for it to unlock and grant access. The amount of time it takes to do so is the same as any leveling up process—once the PCs are 2nd level, it shouldn't take them any more time to take the ghost hunter archetype than, say, any other 2nd level choice.

STEP 2: Setup Time

This setup time is the base number of days it takes to create the item. If you decide to take the slow and methodical approach ( Core Rulebook 244 ), you spend that number of days of Regular Setup in Table 1, and then attempt the Crafting check to determine your success. You can instead rush the process ( Treasure Vault 158 ), taking days off the time needed to setup the item while introducing a greater risk of failure.

Below, you may change your Crafting Proficiency Rank and your Crafter Level .

STEP 3: Crafting Skill Check

Take the DC from Table 1. When you take Rush Crafting , you have to decide on your approach to the job, from Trained to Legendary, which is limited by your proficiency. That choice sets the Setup Time and the Crafting DC.

Critical Success Your attempt is successful. Each additional day spent Crafting reduces the materials needed to complete the item by an amount based on your level + 1 and your proficiency rank in Crafting.

Failure You fail to complete the item. You can salvage the raw materials you supplied for their full value. If you want to try again, you must start over.

STEP 4: Finishing the Project

If your Crafting check is a success, you expend the raw materials and can complete the item immediately by paying the remaining portion of the item’s Price in materials. Alternatively, you can spend additional downtime days working on the item. Above, you may change your Proficiency Rank and your Crafter Level . Below you can choose your Crafting Check Result from Step 3 and you may select the Additional Days of Work . This webtool calculates the Remaining Balance .

If you are at least an Expert in Crafting, you can rush the finishing process (toggle the Rush the Finish ), reducing the value of the materials you must expend to complete the item. Doing so comes at a risk; at the end of the creation process, once the item is finished, you must attempt a DC flat check.

Success the item is complete and works perfectly.

Failure the item is still completed, but it gains a quirk .

Critical Failure the item is ruined or might become a cursed item attached to you.

Change Ancestry NPC

To use one of the NPCs in this section to represent an NPC of a different ancestry, apply the adjustments below for the desired ancestry. These provide the basic features from that ancestry, like darkvision, altered Speed, and unique abilities like a halfling’s keen eyes. For other ancestries, you can create similar templates following the same format. In addition to these base changes, you can add the effects of a specific heritage: you might apply the snow goblin heritage if your NPC is a Frostfur goblin and you want them to have cold resistance. You can also give them an ancestry feat, or even adjust their ability scores and skills to reflect the new ancestry’s strengths and weaknesses. For a half-elf, half-orc, or any other heritage essential to the character, you should always apply the heritage effect.

GHOST HUNTER DEDICATION

Ghost hunter feat 2 ×, uncommon trait ' data-html='true' data-content=' something of uncommon rarity requires special training or comes from a particular culture or part of the world. some character choices give access to uncommon options, and the gm can choose to allow access for anyone. certain uncommon abilities, feats, and other options have an access entry. characters who meet the criteria in the entry gain access to that option. '>uncommon, archetype trait ' data-html='true' data-content=' this feat belongs to an archetype. '>archetype, dedication trait ' data-html='true' data-content=' you must select a feat with this trait to apply an archetype to your character. '>dedication.

Prerequisites Trained in Occultism or Religion

A training weapon is designed to be used when training an animal to participate in combat by identifying the target for the animal to attack. Striking a creature with a training weapon gives your animal companion or your bonded animal a +1 circumstance bonus to its next attack roll against that target.

The practitioners of occult traditions seek to understand the unexplainable, categorize the bizarre, and otherwise access the ephemeral in a systematic way. Bards are the most iconic occult spellcasters, collecting strange esoterica and using their performances to influence the mind or elevate the soul, and occult sorcerers strive to understand the mysterious power in their blood.

A material component is a bit of physical matter consumed in the casting of the spell. The spell gains the manipulate trait and requires you to have a free hand to retrieve and manipulate a material component. That component is expended in the casting (even if the spell is disrupted).

Except in extreme circumstances, you can assume all common components are included in a material component pouch (page 290).

A somatic component is a specific hand movement or gesture that generates a magical nexus. The spell gains the manipulate trait and requires you to make gestures. You can use this component while holding something in your hand, but not if you are restrained or otherwise unable to gesture freely.

Spells that require you to touch the target require a somatic component. You can do so while holding something as long as part of your hand is able to touch the target (even if it’s through a glove or gauntlet).

Special You can’t select another dedication feat until you have gained two other feats from the ghost hunter archetype.

Prerequisite to: Grave’s Voice (4) , Investigate Haunting (4) , Spirit Spells (4) , Ghost Strike (6) , Peer Beyond (8) .

Ghost Abilities A ghost gains the incorporeal, spirit, and undead traits. Many become evil. If the base creature has any abilities or traits that come from it being a living, corporeal creature, it loses them.
