„ Small floating orbs of light, only visible through a camera. ”
Ghost Orbs are a type of evidence used to help determine the type of ghost haunting the location.

Mechanics [ ]
When a map is loaded in, Ghost Orbs will spawn in the favourite room and float within the room. They look like very small orbs that glide across the screen, generally one at a time. They can be seen through the screen on a Video Camera with night vision, or through any available video feed with night vision.
Depending on the map and the location of the favourite room, Ghost Orbs can sometimes be seen via the map's CCTVs if the CCTV happens to be facing into the favourite room, though this is usually rare. Ghost Orbs will periodically shift position within the favourite room, forcing players to be more proactive in locating them.
When the ghost room changes on difficulties where 'Changing favourite room' is not set to 'None' (such as on Professional and Nightmare), the Ghost Orbs will also move to the new favourite room.
Possible ghosts [ ]
The Mimic induces Ghost Orbs as a "false flag" evidence. Since its main pieces of evidences are Spirit Box , Ultraviolet , and Freezing Temperatures , Ghost Orbs will be unaffected by the number of evidences set (such as on Custom difficulties or Nightmare difficulty), even when it is set to 0.
Strategies [ ]
- Because of the periodical moving of Ghost Orbs, searching for them with a hand-held Video Camera is often better than relying on stationary cameras. In addition, this eliminates back-and-forth trips to the truck, especially on larger maps where sanity preservation is more important.
- A player in the truck can view their teammates' Tier I head gear during the initial search for the ghost room to search for Ghost Orbs.
- If viewing the camera feed from the truck, camera placement is key to detecting Ghost Orbs. A good strategy for detecting them is placing two video cameras in the corners of the room facing each other to maximize coverage.
- Using video cameras to peer through exit doors, garage doors or windows may allow the player to find Ghost Orbs even before entering the investigation area.
- Ghost Orbs tend to show up in regular intervals. If none are seen for a long time, try moving the video camera or switch to another one.
- In outdoor areas such as on Maple Lodge Campsite , Ghost Orbs can be hard to see in bad weather conditions (primarily rain, snow, and fog). A hint to distinguishing them from snowflakes is that Ghost Orbs tend to float more horizontally and, sometimes, even upwards (compared to snowflakes always falling down). Additionally, snowflakes are generally dark, while orbs will be bright.
- It is best to check for Ghost Orbs when the room's lights are off. When on, the brightness may hide the Orbs from sight.

'Ghosts' have been appearing in photographs almost since George Eastman introduced celluloid film for portable cameras during the 1880s. However, orbs were first noticed at about the time that the pocket camera with built-in flash hit the market 5 .
Orbs usually appear in digital still photography when a flash is used—they are rare in daylight and with film photography. Occasionally they have been observed moving in video footage. While most orbs appear spherical, other shapes have been reported such as diamonds, rectangles and smears.
When digital cameras became popular in the early '90s, ghost hunters and other paranormal investigators were able to quickly take dozens of pictures in a single location. The orb became popular as more than an anomalous spot.
Ghost hunters, eager to prove their locations were haunted, zealously brought photographic orbs to public attention, claiming that orbs or "ectos" were spirits made visible in their photos. In fact, orb photographs became so prolific that at least one paranormal association, the Toronto Ghosts and Hauntings Research Society (GHRS), stopped accepting them as proof of paranormal activity 2 .
Although it is comforting to believe that the spirits of our dearly departed live on in these small balls of light, both skeptics 3, 5 and many ghost hunters 1, 2, 4, 6, 8 agree that photographic orbs are most often, if not always, caused by natural elements such as dust, pollen, or water vapor. In fact, almost every source researched for this article that claims belief in the paranormal authenticity of photographic orbs had a money-making agenda such as selling a book, a subscription, a conference enrollment, or promoting a TV program.
Moreover, in a reply to an inquiry from customer Helena Cowell7, Fuji Films wrote:
"Floating dust particles may cause white spots appearing at different positions on pictures taken by a digital camera using the flash. Dust in front of a subject reflects the flash light and the image of the dust is captured out of focus. Dust, snow, rain, pollen, condensation, or any small airborne particles may cause the same problem. The particle will appear light and big because it is out of focus; it may assume a shape similar to the aperture of the camera, usually round."
Scott Denning of the Southwest Ghost Hunters Association ponders, "Where is the control for orb photos?" as he remarks of those who claim to see orbs only in the pictures they take of 'haunted' locations. He asks how many pictures they take in "areas that aren't reputed to be haunted? 8 "
Do orbs show up in your ghost hunting photographs? If they do, maybe Fuji Films has the real answer. When an 'orb' shows up in your photo"Take another picture."
The photographs below are typical orb photos, except that they include more orbs than most and they were taken in a controlled way to simulate the orb effect. The first photo was taken in light rain:
The next photograph was taken after kicking dust into the air. The resulting circular objects are indistinguishable from other examples of orbs that are claimed to be supernatural:
While many people believe that orbs are paranormal entities such as ghosts or even aliens, skeptics maintain that these apparitions are completely explainable by photographic science. Even paranormal enthusiasts tend to be somewhat skeptical of the orbs phenomena.

Ghost Orbs: Haunted Photography
A cornerstone of paranormal investigation and paranormal photography, ghost orbs are a popular topic in the ghost hunting community. What makes these mysterious little balls of light so interesting?
Ghost orbs are physical manifestations of spiritual energy in the form of an orb. These orbs show up on film most often, but can also be seen with the naked eye. While there are many different explanations for ghost orbs, none truly explain the existence of these ghostly balls of light.
Orbs are the most common type of ghost for civilians to find, but since they’re often innocuous they can show up more than we sometimes realize.
What Is a Ghost Orb?
The most simple explanation of ghost orbs is that they are ghosts in the form of orbs of light. This is an overarching explanation, and won’t always be true in every case of orbs.
While it is certainly true that a ghost can manifest itself as a ghost orb, a ghost orb can also come about from a general overabundance of spiritual energy. Graveyards especially are orb hotspots, and photos taken in graveyards can show dozens of orbs.
Unlike other paranormal entities, ghost orbs love to make themselves seen on camera. It’s rare to see a ghost orb with the naked eye, but it does happen occasionally. If you want to have the best chance at seeing a ghost orb, bring a camera along.
Like we described earlier, graveyards are great places to see a potential ghost orb, but a battlefield at night or an infamous haunted house can also be ghost orb havens.
The elusive energy balls have also been known to attach themselves to an individual, appearing in that individual’s photographs no matter where the location. What a strange compliment to be a ghost’s favorite person!
Ghost orbs can’t physically interact with the living world. They are limited to visual contact and have been seen on pictures taken from phones, expensive professional cameras, security camera footage, and night vision cameras. They don’t discriminate between camera types!
Orbs are also a favorite of ghost hunters since they are easy to photograph and don’t have obvious ill intent like a poltergeist or another type of ghostly apparition.
What Do Ghost Orbs Look Like?
Ghost orbs can look mildly different from picture to picture, but they all have a basic form and appearance. Paranormal phenomena like spirit orbs are highly sought after by ghost researchers, and when it comes to photographs, a large, bright spirit orb might be the best evidence of ghosts that a ghost hunter will ever see.
Ranging in size from an unobtrusive pinprick all the way to bigger than a person’s head, ghost orbs don’t follow any hard rules when it comes to size.
As you would expect from the name, ghost orbs are circular orbs that float in the air, usually lit from within. They are a form of energy that a spirit or other paranormal entity can use to manifest itself. While orbs don’t invoke the same feelings of fear as other types of ghosts, they still shouldn’t be ignored.
Depending on their energy level, ghost orbs can appear as dim energy spheres all the way up to blazing orbs of light. It really all depends on the amount of spiritual energy the ghost orb has, and how brightly it wants to manifest.
It can be hard to catch a ghost on film unless this ghost is a spirit orb. Ghost orbs can even catch the focus of the camera lens, making for a blurrier picture.
Ghost Orbs vs Dust
It can be hard to differentiate between a ghost orb and an errant flash of light on film. Many people who experience the ghost orb phenomenon may try their best to find a logical explanation for orbs in photos, but while some orb-like objects may have logical explanations, there are some tell-tale ways to determine whether you’re dealing with a ghost orb or dust particles.
Particles of dust and raindrops are the two most common scapegoats when it comes to spirit orbs. When a picture is taken with a flash, this flash can illuminate and reflect off of specks of dust and water droplets, making them appear orb-like. Any other light source can cause these light reflections as well.
Lens flare is also to blame for false ghost orb pictures.
The best way to differentiate between some dust and a ghost orb is to take video evidence along with your still frames. Dust and water will move, unsurprisingly, like dust and water. Floating aimlessly or falling straight to the ground.
Spirit orbs on the other hand will move with intention, or if they are fixated on a certain person or object, remain stubbornly in place. Their movements are intelligent and intentional. A real ghost orb would never want itself to be mistaken for dust pollen.
Ghost Orbs With Faces
Regular ghost orbs aren’t all that scary to look at, but what about when a ghost orb appears with a face? This can be frightening to observe, but these orbs are probably just stopping by to wish you well.
Ghost orbs with faces can be loved ones that have died coming to visit, or spirits struggling to manifest a truly human form.
Ghost orbs that have faces are often seen in photographs taken at large, important events like weddings, birthdays, or maybe the birth of a longed-for grandchild. If you look closely at your ghostly visitor in your pictures, it isn’t odd at all to recognize the face staring back.
A visitation from a ghost, even one of a beloved person, can be unsettling. These moments should instead be greeted with joy. This spirit spent a lot of energy manifesting for you and should be welcomed with open arms.
Ghost orbs are a haunting paranormal phenomenon that is being seen more and more often as our world becomes reliant on cameras. Ghost orbs usually appear on film, especially in areas of high spiritual energies.
Ghost orbs aren’t malevolent and should be appreciated as the stunning shows or spiritual energy that they are!

What is a Ghost Orb?
A ghost orb , most commonly, is defined as a globe of light or light ball that can be seen in videos, pictures, or even with the naked eye.
These orbs often float in mid-air and can move quickly.
They are thought to be manifestations of energy, which is why they’re sometimes referred to as ghost or spirit orbs.
However, not all orbs seen in pictures are considered “ghostly.”
Some are mere refractions of light on the lens of a camera, or the result of a camera flash picking up dust, metal, or tiny insects in the air.
A “true” orb is generally considered relatively solid from the center, often emitting its own light, albeit a very small amount.
The nature of ghost orbs has been a subject of controversy.
While some believe them to be spirits or a form of energy we don’t yet understand, skeptics argue that they are simply natural phenomena or photographic errors.
The Colors of Ghost Orbs and Their Meanings
Intriguingly, these paranormal orbs can appear in various colors, each believed to convey a unique message or signify a particular type of energy.
Let’s delve deeper into the world of ghost orbs and explore the meanings behind their diverse color palette.
Transparent or White Orbs
Transparent or white orbs are often considered to be the most common type of ghost orb.
These orbs are typically associated with positive energy.
Some paranormal researchers believe these orbs represent spirits or energies stuck or trapped on a plane they don’t belong to. They could be lost souls seeking help or attempting to convey a message.
Red or Orange Orbs
Red or orange orbs are generally perceived as warm and protective spirits.
They could represent the energy of a protector or caretaker, someone who was a guardian in their earthly life and continues to play that role in the afterlife.

These orbs might also signify a spirit that is full of passion, energy, or anger.
Black orbs carry a more ominous interpretation. They are often associated with spirits carrying negative or heavy emotions.
While they are not necessarily evil, their presence might indicate a place with unfriendly energy or an upset or confused spirit. Encountering a black orb should be a signal to approach with caution and respect.
Green orbs are often associated with nature and oneness with the Earth.
They might represent spirits that have never lived on Earth, such as deceased infants, or spirits that were deeply connected to nature during their earthly life.

Some believe that green orbs could also signify healing or fertility.
Blue orbs are believed to indicate the presence of a calming or healing energy or spirit.
They may also represent truth, especially if you’re seeking answers or trying to contact a specific spirit from the afterlife. A blue orb could be a sign of a spirit bringing peace and tranquility, or offering guidance.
Ghost Orbs in History and Mythology
Ghost orbs, or orb ghosts , have been a subject of fascination and speculation throughout history and across cultures.
These mysterious entities, often appearing as floating globes of light, have been documented in folklore, religious texts, and personal accounts, often associated with spiritual or paranormal phenomena.
In ancient cultures, orbs were seen as spiritual entities or divine messengers. For instance, in Celtic mythology , orbs were considered fairies or elemental spirits.
These orbs, often seen in the woods or near bodies of water, were believed to be the manifestation of these elemental beings. They were seen as protectors of the natural world, and their appearance was often considered a sign of good fortune.
In Christian tradition, art depicts orbs as halos or divine light surrounding saints and angels.
Interesting read : Ed and Lorraine Warren: The Fascinating Story of the World’s Most Renowned Paranormal Investigators
This is particularly evident in Byzantine and Renaissance art , where saints are often depicted with a golden orb or halo around their heads, symbolizing their holiness and divine favor.
Some theologians have interpreted these artistic depictions as early representations of ghost orbs.
Historically, notable figures have reported encounters with orb-like phenomena.
One such figure is Queen Elizabeth I of England. It is said that shortly before her death in 1603, she witnessed an orb of light.
This orb, which she interpreted as a harbinger of her impending demise, was described as a “radiant sphere, glowing with a light more brilliant than the sun.”
This event has been documented in several historical accounts, adding to ghost orbs’ intrigue and mystery.
Historically, orb sightings have been reported in places associated with paranormal activity.
The Gettysburg battlefield, a site of immense death and suffering during the American Civil War, is one such location. Numerous orb sightings have been documented here, often captured in photographs or videos taken by visitors.
Some believe these orbs are the spirits of fallen soldiers, still haunting the battlefield over a century after the devastating conflict.
In 2001, a group of paranormal investigators, the Ghost Research Society , reported capturing multiple orbs in a photograph taken at the battlefield.
The orbs were of various sizes and colors, and their appearance sparked a renewed interest in the phenomenon of ghost orbs.
When and Where to Encounter Ghost Orbs?
To understand ghost orbs fully, we must consider the circumstances and locations where they are most commonly observed.
Typically, orbs manifest during nighttime in areas that have witnessed paranormal phenomena or other atypical occurrences.
Ghost orbs and spirit orbs have been reported in settings such as graveyards, churches , and during activities like seances or clairvoyance work.
Additionally, areas with a history of significant deaths, such as the Gettysburg battlefield, have also been associated with orb sightings during nighttime.
Interestingly, orbs can also be observed around individuals. In these cases, orbs are often perceived as symbolic representations of halos, angels, or deceased loved ones.
These captivating manifestations of protective energy can be seen by the naked eye or captured on film.
On the same topic: The Brown Lady of Raynham Hall: The True Story Behind the Famous Ghost on the Staircase Photograph
Those who consistently attract orbs are often believed to possess heightened spirituality and may encounter other paranormal phenomena, although this is not always true.
Furthermore, orbs can manifest within an individual’s aura, particularly if they possess psychic or spiritual abilities. This phenomenon may indicate a person’s capacity to communicate with spirits or energies or act as a sign that spirits or energies are attempting to establish contact.
Certain events and rituals can increase the likelihood of orbs appearing in photographs.
Spiritual practices such as prayer, healing sessions, or worship can create an environment conducive to capturing orbs visually. Moreover, orbs are more commonly seen when rituals intersect the boundary between life and death, such as during funerals or moments of passing.
However, it is worth noting that orbs and the spirits or entities they embody may reveal themselves during any significant life event, such as births or weddings.
Therefore, even the most ordinary photographs or videos can unexpectedly feature the presence of orbs.
The Scientific Perspective on Ghost Orbs
From a scientific standpoint, the existence of ghost orbs is often attributed to more mundane explanations.
One of the most common theories is that orbs are dust particles, insects, or moisture droplets reflecting light and appearing as glowing spheres in photographs or videos.
This phenomenon, known as a “backscatter,” occurs when the flash of a camera reflects off these small particles and creates an orb-like image.
Lens flares, another common photographic anomaly, can also produce orb-like images.
These occur when light is scattered or flared in a lens system, often producing a characteristic polygonal shape. However, when out of focus, these flares can appear as circular orbs of light.
In recent years, some researchers have conducted experiments to understand the orb phenomenon better.
You may also like : What Is a Psychic? A Comprehensive Guide to Extrasensory Perception
These studies often involve controlled environments where dust, moisture, and other potential orb-producing factors are manipulated.
While these experiments have replicated orb-like images, they have not definitively disproved the possibility of genuine ghost orbs.
Skepticism and Criticism
Despite the numerous personal accounts and paranormal investigations , skepticism towards ghost orbs remains widespread.
Critics argue that the evidence supporting the existence of ghost orbs is largely anecdotal and lacks scientific rigor.
Skeptics point out that orb sightings significantly increased with the advent of digital photography, suggesting a technological rather than supernatural explanation.
They also note that orbs are rarely seen with the naked eye, further casting doubt on their paranormal nature.
Critics also question the interpretations assigned to different orb colors. They argue that these interpretations are often subjective and can be influenced by cultural beliefs and personal biases.

Bright white, bright yellow, solid black, bright orange, bright green, bright blue, hot pink or fuchsia, deep purple, light pink, violet purple, black with a light outline, violet purple with a white outline, murky or dark orange, grayish or murky white, dark or murky red, dark or murky pink, dark mustard or murky yellow, dark or murky green.
This is very different from gray energy. This orb has a white and shiny outline. This symbolizes congratulations, courage and strength. You may see this orb as congratulations for an important accomplishment.
This orb is a suggestion divine energy is following you or on your side. This is believed to be energy sent from the heavens when you are sad, grieving, worried or scared. Numerous experts believe this light is sent by God when it is needed the most.
Shiny white surrounding gold energy means something wonderful is headed in your direction or you are receiving a reward. This may signify stability and prosperity.
This orb contains a lot of energy. This type of ghost orb is sent to energize your aura or provide you mind and body with strength. If the orb is almost neon and very bright it means you require replenishment.
If the orb is solid black but lacking any glow, this is the manifestation of a negative entity. If this orb is being given off by a person, they are either having negative thoughts or plan to take action regarding something negative.
This is an indication that a protective and good spirit is close. The spirit may be there to provide protection or because they have befriended your spirit and wish to visit. A bright orange ghost orb is never a reason for concern since these are the good spirits.
There are two different meanings for a burgundy orb. Either greed is close or prosperity is coming. This type of orb is often given by a materialistic individual or spirit. If not, the orb will probably pop.
Gray orbs are residual energy from nearly anything. This includes trails left behind by an entity, animals and people. This is nothing more than dead energy with absolutely no purpose.
When you see an indigo orb, you are being protected by numerous warrior guardians. This is different than a guardian angel. These angels are not human and only come when their protection is required. They can stop the occurrence of a negative event.
You will most likely see this orb when your energy requires cleansing or when you are low on energy. If you need protection, this ghost orb will pop. Bright red orbs are referred to as the light of the warrior because they will guard you when you are weak or scared.
If you need healing, this orb will pop. Green is the color of medicinal orbs. You may see one of these orbs if you are mentally or physically unwell.

This orb means guidance will be provided from an authority figure close to your location. This may be a spirit guide or an angel.
Cupids leave behind this color of energy. They are aware when you need self-assurance or love. When you are considering a new love interest, they will tell you when it is okay. They may also be there to let you know there will be an improvement in your love life.
You will usually see this orb due to the residual energy of children or when a child is present. Your excitement over a new baby or pregnancy may cause this ghost orb to appear.
This orb is telling you a human-angel is close. This may be a loved one coming for a visit.
This orb is similar in appearance to a lunar eclipse. The center is black with a white outline around the edges. This means you require psychological strength and protection.
This ghost orb means your guardian angels are close. These non-human angels will appear when you need them the most.
This is a warning orb made of pure energy. This is not typical energy, a spirit or a ghost. This manifestation is a warning about specific places you must not enter or certain events. If this is a person’s aura, your are being told whether to associate with this individual or not. This aura can also be carried by a spirit experiencing a negative turn or difficult times.
If the ghost orb is grayish-white or white with a murky under-tone, there are most likely ghosts or lost souls nearby. These ghosts are trying to find their way back home and believe you may be able to provide the help they require. If the orb triggers a feeling of malaise, it is because the ghost is experiencing negativity.
This generally indicates a bad spirit is close by or a spirit has become weak, depressed or angry. These spirits do not feel well, have bad intentions and are interested in either bringing down or terrorizing the manifestations and people around you. This includes you.
These orbs will appear when you have allowed your insecurities to take over or are feeling hopeless or disconsolate regarding love.
Pay attention to this ghost orb because they appear to provide cautionary warnings. If you see this orb in a room, they are telling you not to go inside. If you see this color on a person’s aura, you need to stay clear of them.
This ghost orb is not always bad. This orb appears when negative energy is released by an animal or a person or when they are healing from a difficult time, an injury or an illness.
Please note that this article is for entertainment purposes only. Obs are more likely to be seen due to the camera’s flash being reflected from unfocused motes of dust, water droplets, or other particles in the air or water. In photography, this is called backscatter.
What does an orb outlined in black, but the center is white and gold, almost like stars sparkling mean?
As an orb, I suppose by reading their definitions it means that though the area will give a negative impact, you will be given experience and a positive impact as well. Like a non-zero-sum situation? I have no experience in this scenario but that’s my opinion.
How do you tell the difference between gold and yellow?
Gold is darker then yellow hope that helps 🙂
What if I see violet and a light blue outline?
This is so retarded. The orbs are caused by light reflections off of dust particles in the air. The camera picks them up due to the exposure time. There’s nothing paranormal about it, it’s just a quirk of modern cameras.
Ty for the help this website is so cool
I have a bright turquoise outline in bright white ring all inside a sphere!? Can u help me with this color!? Also I have a odd shape in my fourth picture same color. What does it mean to have a different shape!? Thank you

I would like some reasonable explanations if someone could help I would very much appreciate it, thanks.
Just seen a murky grayish whit kind of big in the sky fallen to the ground and not seen anymore what is it

Last Updated on March 15, 2020 by Sloane Marie
Every ghost orb carries with it a specific meaning. While some critics say that these orbs are just a piece of dust or a fleck on the camera lens, spiritualists believe that they are a sign of spirits in the area. The gold orbs meaning shows what the spirits are trying to tell you. If you listen to what the spirits say, you can learn more about the higher plane of existence.
When you see a gold ghost orb, it almost always carries a positive meaning with it. This is the color of the angels, so it is unsurprising that it is the color chosen by beneficial spirits. While there are sometimes other meanings associated with the golden orb, there are two main interpretations that this color tends to carry with it.
1. Unconditional Love
Unconditional love is a truly rare thing to find in this life. Even the people who love you most can be pushed away by what you say or the mistakes that you make. When you see the gold ghost orb, it is a sign that you are loved. The spirit wants you to know that it is always there for you. It may be your guardian angel, a loved one who has passed on or merely a kind spirit. It may have noticed the struggles that you have gone through, and it wants you to know that you are not alone. Even when you feel like you are undeserving of love, the spirits and angels are there to love and support you unconditionally.
Another common interpretation of the gold orbs meaning is the angels. Gold is known as an angelic color, so it is often the color used by angelic spirits. Your guardian angel may be trying to let you know that they are there. You are never alone, and your guardian angel is watching over you.
If you are interested in learning more about the meaning of the ghosts orbs of each color , then be certain to take this time to gain a better understanding them.

All paranormal enthusiasts are familiar with the concept of ghost orbs: little balls of light that mysteriously appear in photos and video footage. These orbs can also be caused by natural means so how do we tell the difference?
How dust orbs appear in photographs. Do ghost orbs work in a similar manner? Photo: Sony.
Most orbs that appear in photos and videos are probably just dust particles that have been made visible by a certain type of lighting. Low light conditions where a flash is used are more likely to show up dust orbs.
In photography the phenomenon of dust orbs appearing in photos is known as backscatter.
Backscatter: dust orbs illuminated by a camera's flash. Could these sometimes be ghost orbs? Photo: Wikipedia.
So how do we know when an orb is likely to be a ghost?
An orb in a photograph is more likely to have a ghostly origin if the photo was taken in natural lighting. Orbs that show up in a camera’s flash are much more likely to be dust particles.
Ghost orbs in videos move in ways that seem unnatural. Dust particles will slowly float around all in the same direction. If one orb seems to move differently from others that appear it may be a ghost orb. Be aware that sometimes bugs appear as orbs in photos and videos.
Orbs that are clearly in the scene and not close to the camera lens are more likely to be ghost orbs.
If other paranormal activity is occurring at the same time it might be more likely that you are capturing a ghost orb.
Perhaps spirits are able to move dust particles in unnatural ways so when we capture an orb behaving strangely it may be dust being manipulated by a spirit or other paranormal entity.

Tips for eliminating natural orbs when ghost hunting
Use the live photo function on your phone camera. This way you can see a few seconds of movement on either side of the photo which help you to identify bugs vs ghost orbs.
Take video as well as photos. Things can appear strangely in a photo that can be seen to be normal in a video, when you have more context.

Phasmophobia: How To Spot Ghost Orbs On The Screen
October 15, 2020 by Ordinary Gaming
Ghost orbs is one of the evidences you should check out for in Phasmophobia in determining the type of ghost.
As the main aim of the game is to find out which ghost it is, checking for ghost orbs is a must, unless you already have three other evidences.
Here’s how you can spot ghost orbs in Phasmophobia.
Determine which room the ghost is in
The first thing you should do is determine where the ghost likely is.
The best way to do so is by using either the thermometer and EMF reader. If you’re playing in a team, then each member can carry a different device for checking.
Once you’ve determined the room where the ghost probably is ( by way of low temperature or EMF reading ), get your video cameras from the van.
Set up the camera
If you’ve bought a tripod, even better.
Place the video camera on the tripod and bring the whole thing to the room / area where the ghost is.
Try to get a bigger angle of the room / area when placing the camera. Typically, you should place the camera at corners or ends of the room, facing the potential ghost’s location.
Remember to switch on the camera ( green light ).
How to look for ghost orbs
Now, head back to the van and look at the monitor.
Look at the feed from the camera you placed in the room. Just stare at the screen until you see the ghost orb popping out. It may take over 10 seconds.
Ghost orb looks like a speck of dust . It’s quite tiny and you can easily miss it.
If after a long time nothing shows up, there may be no ghost orbs. However, it can sometimes be bugged.
Try placing more than one camera in the area to be sure. Sometimes the orbs appear slightly further from where the ghost is.

Orbs Paranormal Ghosts Or Dust
When is a orb paranormal.
Orbs Dust Or Proof Of Ghosts
Every now and then I get asked to look at orb artifacts to determine if they are paranormal, a ghost, or just dust. Im usually dragged into defending my position that orb artifacts are not proof of the paranormal or ghosts. The paranormal community is very divided on the subject of orbs. Specifically if some orb artifacts found in digital media are the result of ghosts. I have listened to both sides for and against, to the point of exhaustion.
What Is An Orb Artifact
In the paranormal realm orbs are generally defined as a semi-luminescent spherical shaped object. They may be seen with the naked eye but generally are discovered later on media, such as photographs. Some orbs upon further visual inspection are believed to have faces and other recognizable forms within the orb. Some members of the paranormal community deeply believe some orbs are the physical manifestation of a departed spirit or soul.

Governing Laws For Orbs
Some paranormalist’s have gone further and created rules to govern paranormal orbs. First, Orbs must appear to emit their own light source. Secondly, orbs must appear to have self governed propulsion. Lastly, orbs must appear to move in an intelligent flight path. Proponents of orb rules, will ignore any orbs that fail to meet those requirements. Evidence based paranormal groups are more reluctant to conclude orbs as a source of spirits or ghosts.
Natural Phenomena Or Ghosts
Orb artifacts are very close in nature to an actual light phenomenon known as ball lightning. Ball lightening is a documented real natural phenomena. Countless people throughout history have experienced ball lightening. Ball lightning is defined as a atmospheric, point charge, electrical phenomenon . The term ball lightening refers to an illuminous, spherical electric object. The ball can vary from pea-sized to several meters in diameter. This phenomena is usually associated with severe thunderstorms. Ball lightening may last for long periods of time, and move in unexpected ways, such as hovering or following a trajectory. Ball lightning might explain some instances for orbs. yet fails to explain, those observed only on captured media.
Dust To Dust
A majority of all orb artifacts are the result of, dust (particulate matter), bugs, or condensed water (mist or droplets). Dust is omnipresent, and almost impossible to rule out as an explanation. Scoffing at every orb photo and summarily dismissing them based on dust, doesn’t give credit to the complexity of science. There are many natural forces at work such as gravity, particulate mass, electrical charges, heat transfer, air currents, and so forth. Little specks of in-significant dust particles and how they travel through space is much more complex than one may realize.
Orb Zone Theory OZT
Orb artifacts may appear spherical but when the physical matter is viewed under a microscope they are not. So why does non circular matter produce spheres on media? The best answer is a theory known as Orb Zone Theory (OZT), “Orbs are essentially an, extension of the ‘circle of confusion’ explanation given by camera manufacturers and serious photographers.” In explanation, an orb is a circle of confusion (complexity), which appears as an out of focus highlight.
Orbs The Final Act
The orb debate is likely to continue as long as the paranormal is being investigated. The bottom line is orbs can be produced by natural means and are not proof of a spiritual manifestation. The safe conclusion is that the presence of Orbs should be scrutinized heavily.

History [ ]
In 1997, the Metropolitan Museum of Art acquired the Orb. When it arrived at the John F. Kennedy International Airport , a customs officer in Hangar Five looked at it and fell victim to Tenebraug. The Orb was still shipped on time to Curator William , who then looked at it and lost his eyes. A cleaning lady also fell victim to Tenebraug. On the night of a gala unveiling, the Metropolitan Museum Administrator and Eduardo Rivera also looked at the Orb. Kylie Griffin used it against Tenebraug. After all stolen eyes were returned to their rightful owners, Eduardo destroyed the Orb.
