The hayride has been revamped to accommodate those ages 4 and up. There will be fun scary scenes and no jumping on the wagon. This is a perfect first scare for families just beginning to introduce Halloween festivities.

Haunted Hayride at Sparrow Pond

Tractor drawn Haunted Hayride through the deep dark woods of Sparrow Pond where riders will be taken to over 15 different spooky scenes.  But watch out...some of the ghosts may try to hitch a ride or try to take out the wagon itself! Rides last approximately 20 minutes.  

This fun fall Halloween event takes place every Friday & Saturday through October 29th with a special Sunday ride on October 9 from 7:30-9 p.m.   

Please note: Hayride not recommended for Children Under 4.  Tickets are $12.95/person.  Last tickets are sold at 10 p.m.  

There will be light refreshments available for purchase.

Very fun hayride!

My friend and I took the haunted hayride for Halloween. We had so much fun and the scare factor was just right. All the actors did a fine job especially the kids. The walk of darkness was not available due to the covid situation but it was still worth it. Hope to be back again!

I generally avoid campground that have seasonal rentals as they can be quite cliquey, but Sparrow Pond did not have that feel at all. The facilities were clean and well tended. The staff was friendly. The pool was beautiful and enjoyed by many. We took the hayride, which the children enjoyed. We were a group of three sites plus one cabin user. The cabins user enjoyed their stay as well. Presque Isle is less than 30 minutes away. We enjoyed exploring the State Park.

• Sleep Quality

Stayed here for an overnight while traveling. Lots of seasonal campers, we were in a loop that looked like mostly shorter term campers. Cabins available too. Everything was clean, well stocked store, friendly and helpful staff. The pool looked great and lots of chairs around for sitting. It must have been pirate weekend, as they had pirate hay rides. People really seemed to be enjoying themselves. Lots of families and pretty full, but decent spacing between sites allowed for privacy and quiet. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights and used this as our base to explore Erie region and wine trail. Lots of families with kids. I almost felt like I should have borrowed some to fit in. But even though the campground was basically full and lots of kids it was quite once 9 pm came around. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars- no internet and the camp store closed at 5 pm most nights. The sites are not fancy but are level and gravel with nice grass.

We usually stay at Erie KOA for Edinboro soccer. We wanted to try something new. This campground is okay. The rustic cabins are so dark inside. They are very dreary. If you stay, bring an extra light. The KOA rustic cabins do not have refrigerators, but the ones at Sparrow Pond are only 2’ x 2’, so a cooler holds more. Most of the rustic cabins at Sparrow Pond are up a small hill. Very inconvenient. It is a gated campground. The upper bunks have no head room at all. Unfortunately, we already booked next weekend for the next Edinboro soccer weekend. We left early this weekend and did not stay the second night. I would not recommend. Not bad, but not that good. Remember the extra light.

We stayed here for four days over the Labor Day weekend. This staff is amazingly organized. Easy check-in. All sites were taken, and the park is huge. Very quiet at night. Nice long, level sites. Ten minutes to Erie.
