Ghost Adventures opens new season with a two-hour special in October

Discovery Channel is gearing up for the Halloween season, announcing an all-new season of Ghost Adventures , coming up in October.

Join paranormal investigators Zak Bagans, Jay Wasley, Billy Tolley and Aaron Goodwin for their in-depth, often challenging explorations of haunted places. The spine-chilling fun starts with a two-hour special called Ghost Adventures: Devil Island , as the crew checks out Angel Island across the San Francisco Bay. Watch as they encounter an angry entity at the location of a former immigration station.

Later in the season, the Ghost Adventures team checks out an old mining tunnel located in Sutro Ghost Town in Nevada. Is something in the tunnel leading to the ominous aura surrounding the entire Sutro Ghost Town?

The town was founded by a German immigrant, who had dreams of discovering gold in the area. It was his idea to build the huge tunnel, but a fire suffocated and killed 45 men in the tunnel in April of 1869. That’s just the kind of thing to stir up supernatural activity, and many paranormal investigations have been performed at the site in the years since.

The team’s adventures continue as they fight a severe winter blizzard to confront another evil presence at a former ranch in Utah before moving on to California. There, they investigate a family haunting in Northridge the haunted Orcutt Ranch in Los Angeles and a 90-year old mansion located in the middle of the desert, Scotty’s Castle in Death Valley,

The Ghost Adventures crew is on the banks of Utah's Great Salt Lake to investigate The Great Saltair, a century-old music venue that is host to terrifying hauntings, and plagued by misfortune, disaster and even death. Many believe the property is haunted by Saltair Sally, a woman whose body was found on the property in 2000, and evidence suggests the surrounding land is cursed, amplifying the hostile paranormal energy. During their investigation, the team is plagued by intense physical afflictions, disembodied voices, unexplained figures and an array of frightening anomalies.

Episode 2 – “Terror at the Toy Shop” – Begins Streaming Thursday, July 29

Zak Bagans and the crew encounter some of the most incredible poltergeist activity ever at Hollywood Toys and Costumes, a haunted costume shop in Hollywood, California. Riddled with darkness and tragedy, the supernaturally charged building takes the guys on a ride they will never forget during an incredibly dynamic investigation.

Episode 3 – “Haunting in the Hills” – Begins Streaming Thursday, August 5

The Ghost Adventures crew investigate the Hollywood Hills home of model and television personality Holly Madison. She is experiencing disturbing paranormal activity, including demonic growls, and suspects that whatever haunts the property is preying on her fear.

Episode 4 – “Territorial Enterprise” – Begins Streaming Thursday, August 12

Zak Bagans and the team open a terrifying new chapter in Virginia City, Nevada, a haunted town that’s kept the crew coming back again and again. This time, they are focusing on two places in town, the Territory Enterprise Building and the Knights of Pythias building. Locals suspect the town's connection to a secret society may have opened a portal to the netherworld.

Episode 5 – “Emergency in Elk Grove” – Begins Streaming Thursday, August 19

The crew is called to Elk Grove, California, to help a grieving woman who believes she is being terrorized by a demon and fears for her safety. The case takes an even more twisted turn when she reveals that the dark presence haunting her may be responsible for her father's death.

Episode 6 – “Carbon County Chaos” – Begins Streaming Thursday, August 26

When the small town of Helper, Utah, is under siege by dark forces, the mayor calls on the Ghost Adventures crew for help. She suspects that recent renovations to two historic buildings may be behind the surge in paranormal activity.

Season 26 of “Ghost Adventures” is airing new episodes on Discovery and Max, the new iteration of HBO and Discovery+. And “Ghost Adventures: Lake of Death” is currently streaming on Max .

If you’re a fan of this paranormal reality TV series, and its other spin-off shows that chronicle Zak and the crew, you’re in the right place.

The series “Ghost Adventures” began in 2008 on Travel Channel. The reality TV series moved to Discovery+ streaming service in 2021. 

The series chronicles the investigations of ghost hunters and paranormal investigators Zak Bagans, Nick Groff, Aaron Goodwin, Billy Tolley, and Jay Wasley. Before becoming a TV series, “Ghost Adventures” was a documentary-style independent film in 2006.

Each episode explores a new location around the U.S. that has a record of paranormal activity.

The team of co-investigators will lock itself away for a night in haunted locations with video and surveillance equipment to record its findings. The first episode of Season 1 starts at “Bobby Mackey’s Music World,” a Wilder, Kentucky honky-tonk known for unexplained ghostly encounters. 

The success of “Ghost Hunters” has led to similar ghost-hunting shows, including a series of Ghost Adventure spin-offs. The series has also involved celebrity guests on some episodes.

Guests have included Vince Neil in “The Riviera Hotel” (Season 7, Episode 7) and Post Malone “The Slaughter House” (Season 17, Episode 17).

Is Ghost Adventures canceled?

No. In fact, new episodes of Season 26 began streaming on May 31, 2023. The latest episodes are on Discovery Channel and Max.

Season 26 of “Ghost Adventures” is currently airing new episodes.   Every episode of “Ghost Adventures” is available to stream on Max.

The 26 seasons does not count any of the spin-off shows or special episodes such as “Ghost Adventures: Quarantine” or “Ghost Adventures: Screaming Room”.

Discovery+ Unveils Its Creepy Paranormal Programming for 2022-2023 Season

October and the official start of spooky season may be several months, but that isn't stopping discovery+ and Travel Channel from stocking their libraries with paranormal content. The streaming service on Wednesday scared up plenty of screams when it unveiled its full slate of new series, specials, and seasons for the 2022-2023 season , the lineup again proving that the streaming service and network are "the definitive homes for paranormal and horror content."

Set to debut throughout 2022 and into 2023, the lineup includes a mix of both new and returning series. Paranormal investigators Zak Bagans, Aaron Goodwin, Billy Tolley, and Jay Wasley will return for more terrifying lockdowns when Ghost Adventures returns. Grammy-nominated global pop superstar Kesha will also take her turn in the world of all things paranormal with the debut of her new discovery+ series Conjuring Kesha . Viewers can also expect to see new seasons of The Dead Files , Eli Roth: A Ghost Ruined My Life , and Expedition Bigfoot , among others. Of course, any lineup wouldn't be complete without Ghostober. The annual fare returns for the fifth time, bringing spooky, scary programs throughout October, including the Ghost Adventures Halloween special, editions of discovery's Shock Docs franchise, and Ghost Hunters .

Ghost Adventures  lead investigator Zak Bagans went to social media to share a huge announcement for fans. There are two parts to his announcement that most will be excited to hear. What is Zak sharing about the future of the Ghost Adventures  series? Keep reading to find out more.

Zak Bagans makes HUGE announcement about the future of  Ghost Adventures

Ghost Adventures  is heading back to the spotlight. After premiering and airing for several years on the Travel Channel, then Discovery+, the hit paranormal series is finding a new home on the Discovery Channel. Lead investigators Zak Bagans shared the news on social media that fans can see a brand new season premiering at the end of May.

The news was shared on Facebook in which Zak himself made the announcement. He said his news would help brighten everyone’s days as he went on to share the exciting announcement. Zak noted it’s one of his favorite channels and that the evidence they found during their investigations for the upcoming season is some of the most astounding yet.

The show has had incredible success. The team featuring Zak Bagans, Aaron Goodwin, Jay Wasley and Billy Tolley continues to search for evidence of the afterlife.

Variety  shared what Zak had to say. He said, “Fans can expect insane investigations and mountains of paranormal evidence this season. I can’t wait to share our findings with longtime fans and capture the attention of new viewers. I’m grateful to be able to expand the reach of what Ghost Adventures has always set out to do – build a better understanding of the afterlife.”

Fans are in for a treat as this premiere episode will be a two-hour-long special.

Why the move to the Discovery Channel? The network is hoping to stretch its outreach and gain viewers who have never watched the series before.

The premiere episode

Ghost Adventures  premiere episode on the Discovery Channel is titled “Lake of Death” and is about secrets along Hoover Dam’s Lake Mead. This investigation will bring Zak to his knees when an anxiety-inducing spirit affects him.

The team will work to uncover some of the deadly secrets that lie within Lake Mead.

No doubt as always Zak and the  Ghost Adventures  crew will have fans on the edge of their seats as they attempt to gather strong evidence that life after death exists.

Love the show from day one. but I do use discovery much. kind iof sad it’s only on there..now.not a fan of that soci al media.

That is sad to hear. I was a regular Couch Potato on Ghost Adventure days. My husband thought I was nuts. Too many streaming channels. I will really miss them, but I work for a living.

ZAK BAGANS and Team Return with ‘Ghost Adventures: Devil Island Special’ This October

The team behind “ Ghost Adventures ” have a paranormal surprise for viewers of Discovery Channel .

The series, which has been screened on Warner Bros. Discovery’s Travel Channel and then Discovery+,, will get a showcase on Discovery on Wednesday, May 31. at 10 p.m., when the network airs a two-hour special episode that kicks off its 24th cycle. The special stars paranormal investigators Zak Bagans, Aaron Goodwin, Jay Wasley and Billy Tolley investigating secrets along the Hoover Dam’s Lake Mead.

The scheduling maneuver is the latest from Warner Bros. Discovery as it seeks to push audiences of its various networks to shows they may not have seen. This year’s “Puppy Bowl,” an Animal Planet staple for years. was simulcast across that network as well as Discovery Channel, TBS, HBO Max and Discovery+ in a bid to get the property in front of viewers who may not have sampled it in the past. The company simulcast its long-running “Impractical Jokers” series , normally seen on TruTV, on that network and TBS as well.

Each episode of “Ghost Adventures” features the investigative team traveling to haunted locations in search of evidence of the afterlife. Their probes tap the latest scientific gadgets and technology to capture physical evidence of the paranormal and gain a better understanding of each supernatural mystery.

“Fans can expect insane investigations and mountains of paranormal evidence this season. I can’t wait to share our findings with longtime fans and capture the attention of new viewers. I’m grateful to be able to expand the reach of what ‘Ghost Adventures’ has always set out to do – build a better understanding of the afterlife,” said Bagans, in a statement.

Ghost Adventures: New Season Kicks Off with Devil Island Special on Discovery Channel (Watch)

A new season of Ghost Adventures is coming to Discovery Channel in October, and it will kick off with a Devil Island special. The two hours will take Zak Bagans, Aaron Goodwin, Jay Wasley, and Billy Tolley off the coast of San Francisco to investigate Angel Island, a notorious site with a history of torture and despair.

Ghost Adventures has been renewed by the cable channel through 2025 as part of a multi-year deal that was announced in April 2022.

Discovery Channel revealed the following about the return of Ghost Adventures :

‘Ghost Adventures’ March and April 2022 Episodes: Details and Air Dates

The Ghost Adventures team returns with new episodes on Thursday, March 10, 2022 on discovery+. Zak Bagans , Aaron Goodwin, Billy Tolley, and Jay Wasley will be investigating paranormal activity at new locations including John Steinbeck’s childhood home, the LA Police Museum, and a doll shop. (FYI: You couldn’t pay me to watch an episode about creepy dolls.)

“I can’t wait for everyone to see these investigations,” stated Zak Bagans. “What we experienced and were able to capture is simply insane. I’m talking about highly intelligent spirits, prolific poltergeist activity and incredibly powerful energy that severely affected all of us, physically and emotionally. The evidence is mind-blowing.”

discovery+ released the following descriptions of the eight new episodes set to air in March and April 2022:

“Montecito Mansion of Mystery” – Begins Streaming Thursday, March 10 Zak Bagans senses a historic mansion with a tragic and mysterious past in Montecito, California, has called to him. When the crew attempts to re-create a séance in the home’s majestic main hall, they capture some of their most compelling evidence to date.

“Mountain Oaks Mayhem” – Begins Streaming Thursday, March 17 Zak Bagans and the Ghost Adventures team gather in La Crescenta, California, to investigate an abandoned home that has been infected with evil. The dark forces that dwell there tore a family apart, and anyone who dares step inside the house is left fearing for their life.

“Pacific Grove Nightmare” – Begins Streaming Thursday, March 24 The Ghost Adventures team arrive in Pacific Grove, California, to investigate a doll shop overwhelmed by dark energy. Shelves of dolls and puppets appear to offer up disturbing clues as the search for evidence leaves the team drained and disoriented.

“Whitmore Mansion” – Begins Streaming Thursday, March 31 Zak Bagans and the crew investigate a Utah mansion soaked in tragedy and bloodshed. Unexplained paranormal activity has the new owner desperate for answers, and the team is concerned that a portal to hell has unleashed a negative entity into the home.

“Panic on Pine Street” – Begins Streaming Thursday, April 7 The team investigates poltergeist activity at a historic saloon in Paso Robles, California. The activity is so relentless that staff and guests don’t feel safe on the premises. Zak Bagans suspects it may be the sole work of an entity called “The Old Hag.”

“LA Police Station Invasion” – Begins Streaming Thursday, April 14 The crew is called to the Los Angeles Police Museum to confront a dark presence that has invaded the once-thriving precinct. Zak Bagans believes the disturbing activity is linked to the macabre artifacts from some of LA’s most notorious crimes.

“Petrified in Pahrump” – Begins Streaming Thursday, April 21 The Ghost Adventures crew are called to a desolate Nevada town to investigate a winery allegedly built atop sacred burial grounds. Fatal accidents plague the property, and the terrified staff is stalked by an evil presence. Can Zak Bagans get to the bottom of the deadly curse?

“Steinbeck House Haunting” – Begins Streaming Thursday, April 28 Zak Bagans, Aaron Goodwin, Billy Tolley and Jay Wasley travel to Salinas, California, to investigate the birthplace of iconic author John Steinbeck. For decades, witnesses, including Steinbeck himself, have felt a dark presence in the home. Could a portal be drawing spirits to the property?

The Haunt Ghost Tours Are Horror-Filled Historical Adventures

‘Tis the season for haunted houses, pumpkin patches and ghost stories around the campfire. A fan of the paranormal and spirits unseen, I wanted to find a Halloween seasonal experience that was interactive and unique.

The Haunt Ghost Tours are incredible city walks filled with horrifying history lessons and even ghost hunting devices.

Located in Los Angeles, Solvang, Temecula and San Francisco, the tour guides are comprised of passionate paranormal investigators and storytellers, committed to sharing the thrilling, magical and eerie stories of those who have passed.

The tours were founded by Wes Leslie (also a musician ) and Jordon Jo (also a  musician ) who met at SF State in 2008, bonding over their interest in music and the unexplained.

I opted for the San Francisco tour, led by Rose . A wealth of knowledge, Rose comes from a lineage of ghost hunters.

At 8PM on a Saturday night, a solid crowd of curious tourists gathered at the base of the Transamerica Pyramid where Rose passed out EMF devices. After a rules and safety introduction (“Look both ways when you cross the street – No New Ghosts!”), we began our walk through the city.

We held out our EMF meters, which detect electromagnetic fields and… street voltage (watch out for those, they’re not ghosts).

From Powell Street, we gathered in the alleyway to learn all about San Francisco’s horrific past; from earthquakes to bull stampedes, dynamite explosions and the origin of “shanghaiing.”

I was fascinated, not only by the fact that Rose could walk and talk the entire time, but also everything I was learning about the city’s history.

As we passed the haunted Hippodrome, we turned into Chinatown (ask Rose for restaurant recommendations). The city was alive… and so is its ghost community.

Did we come in contact with the paranormal? Yes, I believe that we did.

Where and when? You’ll have to visit San Francisco and take the tour for yourself. I recommend it and plan to try all of the cities.

How long is the tour? Assuming no spirits or poltergeists interfere, the tour will last 1.5 to 1.75 hours.

How long do you walk for? 3.5 blocks away from where you begin (7 Waverly Place).

This New Sherlock Holmes TV Story Is More Exciting Than Sherlock Season 5 With Benedict Cumberbatch

• Sherlock Season 5 may not be necessary, but movies or TV specials can provide fresh narratives and diverse interpretations of Holmes.

A new Sherlock Holmes TV adaptation seems a lot more exciting than watching Benedict Cumberbatch's return in Sherlock season 5. After Sherlock Holmes first appeared in print in 1887, he was portrayed for the first time in an audio-visual medium in an 1899 play. This was followed by the character's first screen appearance in a 1900 Mutoscope film, Sherlock Holmes Baffled . Since then, Sherlock Homes has been portrayed by over 75 actors , holding a world record of being the most portrayed human character in television and film.

Even though so many Sherlock Holmes adaptations exist in film and television, it is hard not to associate the character with a few actors like Jeremy Brett, Robert Downey Jr., Peter Cushing, and Benedict Cumberbatch. Since Benedict Cumberbatch's portrayal of the character in BBC's Sherlock became one of the most mainstream depictions of the iconic detective, the actor sustains the benchmark against which other iterations and adaptations are measured. Despite this, a new upcoming Sherlock Holmes TV story seems far more interesting than Benedict Cumbebatch's season 5 return in BBC's Sherlock .

A Sherlock Holmes Ghost Story With Kit Harington Is A Great Way To Bring The Character Back

Benedict Cumberbatch's Sherlock series was great while it lasted. However, now that the likelihood of its return is incredibly low, a Sherlock ghost story with Kit Harrington as its lead seems to be an incredible way to bring the character back to the small screen. The original Sherlock series already walked audiences through the titular character's adventures of solving mysteries and crimes in modern-day London. By adapting Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's short story Lot No. 249 in a new ghost story Christmas special, Mark Gatiss will now bring a supernatural twist to Sherlock's adventures and combine the essential crime drama ingredients of the show's narrative with some chills and thrills.

Introducing elements of the supernatural to Sherlock 's core detective stories would not only present an exciting departure from the character's traditional crime-solving but would also potentially make room for exploring a more personal and vulnerable side of the character. Since Kit Harrington has previously shown immense range with his acting abilities in Game of Thrones and Gunpowder , he seems to be the perfect casting choice for injecting new life into the character's small-screen portrayal. The Lot No. 249 adaptation will still have to depict Sherlock Holmes' unparalleled deductive reasoning, but a supernatural reinvention of his crime-solving endeavors will help keep things more refreshing and less trite.

Sherlock Season 5 Shouldn't Happen - But Movies Or TV Specials Could Be Better

BBC's Sherlock 's first two seasons cemented their place among the best adaptations of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's works by creating an immersive experience for viewers with their unique portrayal of the titular character's chain of thought and deductive skills. Both seasons encouraged viewers to become armchair detectives themesleves as they followed Sherlock Holmes and John H. Watson's adventures. Unfortunately, in an attempt to outperform the first two seasons, seasons 2 and 4 stretched the suspension of disbelief a little too far, proving that the show had outstayed its welcome.

Considering season 3 and 4's dip in quality, Sherlock seems to be better off without another season. Movies and TV specials like Lot No. 249 would still do justice to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's stories because they would be able to present some never-seen-before Sherlock Holmes narratives without being held back by the potential plot holes and subpar character beats set by Sherlock 's third and fourth seasons. Not to mention, new Sherlock movies and TV specials would also feature new actors taking on the titular detective role, offering viewers diverse interpretations of Doyle's works.
