What Is Phantasm? [ ]

Phantasm is an American horror film series that consists of five films, novels, comic books, and merchandise. It's about the Tall Man (Angus Scrimm), a supernatural and malevolent undertaker who turns the dead into dwarf zombies to do his bidding and take over the world. He is opposed by a young boy, Mike (A. Michael Baldwin), who tries to convince his older brother Jody (Bill Thornbury) and family friend Reggie (Reggie Bannister) of the threat. The first film was released in 1979 and received generally positive reviews and has garnered a cult following.

Skill functions and interactions

Linking Summon Phantasm Support to an Active skill allows you to support that Active skill with any support gem that is compatible with Summon Phantasm. This does not modify the behavior of the Active skill, meaning incompatible support gems will do nothing for the Active skill and only benefit Summon Phantasm Support .

Several different skills can be supported by Summon Phantasm Support , and therefore creates separate stacks of Phantasms. However, the global total Phantasm count is still limited by the highest level support gem.

phantasm wikipedia

Summoned phantasms have a base cast rate of 0.85.

Summoned phantasms have 40% Elemental Resistances and 20% Chaos Resistance .

Active skill gem

Summon Phantasm Support gains any damage and defense supports that would apply to active skill gems linked to it. This might include some modifiers from the active skill gem, but that could be just a glitch in PoB. [2] Some examples are listed below:

Active Skill Gem Level

Does not affect Phantasms. The level of Summon Phantasm Support will always determine the level of the Phantasms. [3]

Modifiers on Supported Gems

Skills that summon Phantasms while supported by Summon Phantasm grant the following effects to that skill's aforementioned stack of Phantasms:

Desktop version

  • Internal Item ID : 3540 (Desktop, Console and Mobile versions)
  • Internal Projectile ID : 630, 631

The Phantasm is a Hardmode , post- Lunatic Cultist craftable bow that auto-fires four arrows at once, while only consuming a single arrow from the player's inventory. Arrows are loosely grouped and can fire with varied velocities and ranges (similar to the Chlorophyte Shotbow ). The bow has a 2/3 (66.67%) chance of not consuming ammunition .

Constantly shooting with the Phantasm will gradually increase its fire rate from once per 24 ticks [1] up to once per 18 ticks, regardless of use time, meaning that the Phantasm does not benefit from speed modifiers. Stopping the attack or switching to another item will reset this effect immediately, making switching weapons inefficient.

In addition, each successful hit on an enemy causes 3 magical arrow projectiles to fire and home in on the target that was hit initially, each one dealing 30% of the original projectile's damage [2] , without any additional ammo or mana cost. The rate of fire of these projectiles depends on the current rate of fire of the Phantasm.

Its best modifier is Unreal . Since it does not benefit from speed modifiers, Godly and Demonic provide the same DPS bonus as Unreal.

  • If used against the Celestial Pillars during the Lunar Events , the bow can destroy a single pillar within a few seconds due to its extremely high damage output. Combined with its high velocity, a pillar can easily be shot and destroyed from a distance.
  • The weapon is most effective against single targets, as the extra arrows do not have any piercing ability.
  • Try not to use piercing arrows, as enemies will have a brief period of invulnerability and many arrows will pass through without causing damage.
  • Ichor Arrows reduce the defense of enemies , which greatly increases damage output since the Phantasm deals many hits per second.
  • Holy Arrows summon falling stars when they hit solid ground that are capable of dealing high amounts of damage.
  • Luminite Arrows will summon even more arrows if fired repeatedly, fending off enemies with little to no knockback.
  • Venom Arrows will deal high DPS due to their high base damage.
  • It should be taken into consideration that even though the Phantasm has a high chance not to consume ammo, it may still use up many arrows. An Endless Quiver might be more preferable.
  • The Phantasm is the only arrow-consuming weapon in the game that has an inherent chance of ammo conservation.
  • The Phantasm is the only Lunar Fragments -made weapon that does not have a special tooltip.

Disambig icon.png

A phantasm is an illusion created by the mesmer . It is also the skill type of those mesmer skills used to summon phantasms.

Phantasms are temporary, translucent purple illusions in the caster's image, carrying weapons based on the skill that created them. While the attacks of phantasms cause more damage and are more durable than clones , they are not near identical duplicates of the mesmer and hold little value as distractions. When a phantasm is summoned, it will attempt to perform a special attack. When the attack is finished or interrupted, it will be destroyed and then replaced by a clone . This clone will be holding the same weapon as the mesmer at that moment and appears at the spot in which the phantasm disappeared. Phantasms cannot be shattered and do not count toward the limit of 3 active clones.

Mechanics [ edit ]

  • Phantasms are unaffected by their own Might , as they inherit the main stats of the Mesmer itself.
  • Phantasm damage is unaffected by upgrades and traits with % damage or accuracy effects such as Sigil of Force and Accuracy , Rune of the Scholar , and Fragility . [ verification requested ]
  • Created by any skill with a type of phantasm .
  • Affected by boons , area effects , and conditions .
  • Phantasms do not dissipate should the corresponding weapon be unequipped.
  • Phantasms do not inherit Fury from the Mesmer.

  • All of the phantasm weapons have the misty, purple look of the phantasms themselves and can be acquired by players. While not a full weapon set, other weapons that look very similarly but are not wielded by phantasms are Spirit Links , Illusion and Mirage .
