For “Pinpointed route to Ngumba Industrial Zone, West Guard post from an intel file” you just need to go to the guard post before you enter the misty valley and the intel is sitting on a desk inside one of the green tents.

Guard point 20 to be exact.

does anybody know how to hit this kiddo already?

Yup, drop water tank on Man on Fire, when kiddo will appear shot him 30 times (he will be like “teleport-avoiding” but keep shooting at him) in a row and he will die plus you can fulton Man on Fire after that. 😀

You can also drop an ammo crate near where he’s standing once you blow the water tower. He should position himself under it and get hit

Agreed with Dastro, all I did was to aim at the kiddo once he appeared and spam bullets at once, he immediately disappear and Man on Fire was available to be fulton.

strange, on my first run I had no difficulties in hitting the kid with a supply drop, now on my 2nd run and after the update/patch my supply drop is too slow, and it doesn’t matter if I hit the kid with 100 bullets he won’t die/dissappear!!! wtf is going on

nevermind, I still did it with the supply drop, just had to use some very accurate timing

Any advice how to trigger conversation with “Listened to the conversation about the bodies at Munoko ya Nioka Station”, any specific time or something like that? I only see 1 guard there all the time.

I can’t get it to trigger either man

For “Listened to the conversation about the “bodies at Munoko ya Nioka Station” you need to reach the other side of Munoko ya Nioka station and a guard will come running down the hill towards the truck. He will drive the truck to the security checkpoint and continue on foot past the mist and will stop at the guard station before the tunnel and talks about the bodies.

Ty man! I wanted try to fallow that truck driver today, but you saved my time anyway! 😀

I did this and it did not work; is there a second conversation after the one at Guard Post 20?

You have to follow the truck driver all the way to the tunnel at the end. At least I did. Just hop in the back of his truck and listen to all his conversations, then when he gets out and starts walking follow on foot till he gets up the the misty camp before boss fight area.

Yes, you need to keep fallow him down to the river and then way up near the tunnel.

I think that if the enemy is in “alert’ the conversation doesn’t trigger. Because i followed the driver to the first stop and he didn’t chat with a soldier about the route. He will say that he needs to go on foot, after that he gets on the truck and drives to the river with the mist. Before that he stops on a guard post: a tent, two soldiers and the fence to the river. He will chat with a guard and is told to go the the outpost near the woods and be careful with ” them”. After that he goes on foot to the river. Follow him, avoid the rest of the soldiers and you will eventually end on the tent before the tunnel, on the woods, where the conversation triggers about what happened to the last driver. I don’t know if the alert dissables it, but i did this way and triggered it. Hope that it helped.

You can use your watergun to stun the man on fire

Kaz / Ocelot will call you and say something along the lines of it not being enough. Yeah, in my desperation to try and survive, I called a supply drop for that thing and found it to be utterly useless.

You just spam shooting him in the head with it, and he’ll grunt and get stunlocked – even when you have to reload, it stuns him long enough that he’ll just sit there with his arm out readying an attack. After a few reloads of spamming, he’ll drop for a bit. Hell, you can finish him off doing that – I accidentally finished the fight without getting a hit on floating boy the first time around.

You can equip the NVG to spot the floating boy.

After you stun the MoF, huck a pile of grenades at his downed form. The kid can’t teleport out of all the explosions, and you’ll get a hit on him, plus the extract.

For finish the boss u can extract him when he’s stun ! And u have the optional objectif Sry for my english !

If you have the weather modification fire support, you can just call in the rain immediately after exiting the building. That’s what I did when I was on this mission.

After reading these comments, I was kinda sceptical about whether you could actually extract the man on fire since the floating boy wouldn’t leave me alone. But it does work, you just have to be persistent. Also, (and I felt kinda stupid after this) you have to call in the chopper yourself. Ocelot said he was gonna bring the chopper in closer, so I assumed the chopper would come in automatically without me having to do it. So, for anyone else having that problem, you have to call it in yourself! And to extract the man on fire, I shot at a blue water cooler thing inside a building to stun the MoF, then threw all my grenades (6) at the floating boy. Then I went to the water tower just outside and, since the red barrels had disappeared for some reason, lured the MoF close enough so that when he fired at me, I was behind the water tower, so he destroyed it himself. When he was stunned, I pumped the floating boy full of lead. Using same tactics, I made MoF destroy the second water tower and shot at the floating boy again. After a while, the floating boy disappeared and the MoF was free to extract.

Another way to finish the Man on Fire: There’s a square water reservoir (just a slightly lowered square area with some brown water in it) on the side of the area with the open cliff. If you move into the water and get the MoF’s attention, he’ll stand at the edge of the water and shoot fireballs at you. If you position him in front of the big metal tank, you can shoot it to blow him into the reservoir, which causes him to be finished off permanently instead of just stunned.

The floating boy will NOT die!!!! Urrrrrrgh!!!!!!!!

Okay wait! You can extract dude on fire? I did try to extract him after hitting the boy with a fucking rpg, but it just said extraction failed and kaz said its a good news! You mean you can extract him and and you can be lucky?

Extract him, that completes one of the mission tasks. It is suppose to happen that “Ocelot: damnit he broke the cords!” – “Kaz: I’d call that, good news.”

Aside from the water towers, there are also two small blue water barrels inside the building that have the same effect on the Man on Fire and don’t require C4 to destroy (you can just shoot them). You can hit the floating boy with an attack if you down the Man on Fire and keep trying to shoot at him when he appears, but you’ll have to down the Man on Fire twice . The floating boy teleports slightly every time he gets hit, but he does take a tiny bit of damage that eventually adds up, it seems.

You can achive Foght the on Fire playing in this way: after you drop a water tower on th fire man, drop a supply over the floating kid. When the fire man is stunned, extract him.

i find a beter way to make the boy stay longer as you like around man on fire and also extinguish his fire as long as you want you can extinguish his fire with water pistol rapidly then his fire will extinguish and the boy will apear around him then you can call for supply and you continue firing until supply drop hit the boy and waaaalaaaa way too easy it was

to beat him, i sent him into the small pool of water in the base, it eliminates him, he evaporates or something, and then you can leave. the pool is in between both water towers and you need to use grenades and other explosives to knock him in as he will not walk in himself.

There is a gas tank next to the pool, if you shoot that when hes infront of it he will be knocked in as well.

If the man on fire gets up before the supply drop gets to hit the floating boy, try shooting with a machine gun/ bombard with a rocket launcher the man on fire. It will incapacitate him for a bit. Just keep doing it until the supply drops. Then proceed to fulton him (extraction WILL fail, but will still complete the task), and after that just call in the chopper (don’t go to the one waiting after the tunnel) and leave the area.

This is the strat for an S rank. You can even skip the supply drop part; run to the tunnel, then get back near a reservoir, call the chopper near your location and wait for him till he gets close and blow it up. He’ll stay stunned for a bit. At this point the chopper would already be touching down, get in and try to hit him with a rocket launcher so he doesn’t throw fireballs at you (you can die even inside of the chopper). “Mission complete –and how.”

Fight off the Man on Fire

  • Pinpoint route to Ngumba Industrial Zone, West Guard Post from an intel file

Extract an African wild dog near Ngumba Industrial Zone, West Guard Post

Listen to the conversation about the "bodies at Munoko ya Nioka Station"

You'll find Shabani at the Ngumba Industrial Zone. Follow the road past Munoko ya Nioka Station. To the east of outpost 17 you'll spot a tunnel that will take you to the Industrial Zone.

After the cutscene in the Industrial Zone, your fiery friend will pay you a visit. You can run away if you prefer, but stay and face him to complete this objective.

You'll have noticed the water towers dotted around the area by now. You need to lure him to the base of a tower and either use your missile launcher to destroy the tower or shoot the red barrels beneath them to douse him with water.

Literally rinse and repeat until the weather kicks in to help you out.

Timing is key with this one. Call in a supply drop or a request for a vehicle just before you shoot up a water tower.

Quickly destroy it and the boy will zip in to hover around his soggy friend. With a little bit of luck, he should get hit with a crate or a truck.

You can find the wild dog near the river by outpost 17.

Make your way through Munoko ya Nioka Station and you'll see an enemy soldier hop into a truck. Follow him to the cave entrance and eavesdrop on his conversation to tick this task off.

S-RANK WALKTHROUGH

phantom pain voices

For the S-Rank, you'll need to be speedy and quiet. Do the following:

  • Gallop/drive thru the valley between guard post #16 and guard post #20 (rather than sneaking thru Munoko ya Nioka)
  • Get to the destroyed bridge and climb up the waterfall to reach the upper area without having to sneak past guard post #17
  • Approach Ngumba Industrial Zone and trigger the Man On Fire battle
  • Defeat the Man on Fire quickly (preferably using a level 3 Stun Arm blast or the water tower method)
  • Do NOT trigger the sealing of the cave exit otherwise you'll only get an A-Rank or lower
  • Exfiltrate via the cave after the Man On Fire disappears

When the mission begins, Snake will be deployed outside of Munoko Ya Nioka. While Ocelot says that going through there is the "only way" to the mission objective, there is actually an alternate route!

Unless you feel the need to grab any items or neutralize soldiers for Mother Base, avoid sneaking thru Munoko Ya Nioka. Instead, take the valley in between guard post #16 and guard post #20. This shortcut will be very useful in getting to Ngumba Industrial Zone quicker.

phantom pain voices

When reaching guard post #20, stay prone and crawl past the guard post (or move to the side while riding on D-Horse). Continue up towards Ngumba to encounter a lone CFA tent with two guards and a locked fence.

Either neutralize the guards and open the locked fence or quietly take the hill on the right side to move past the locked gate from above. From here, Snake can either move towards the mist-filled area of guard post #17 or use the shortcut next to the bridge.

Since guard post #17 has too many enemies to deal with, take the shortcut at the destroyed bridge. On the other side of the destroyed bridge are ledges that Snake can climb up higher. Use those ledges to reach the top and then use the hill on the right to get closer to Ngumba Industrial Zone tunnel.

metal-gear-solid-5-the-phantom-pain-pt-radio-easter-egg

Once you are close to the Ngumba Industrial Zone tunnel, you should be able to see a CFA tent with two guards. Inside the CFA tent is an Easter egg that has the radio broadcast of a murder news story from P.T. (the Silent Hills demo Playable Teaser made by Kojima).

phantom pain voices

Sneak past the CFA tent by crawling under the tree root and then make your way into the tunnel towards Ngumba to the Devil's House. The area outside The Devil's House is eerily quiet and enemy-free, so make your way into the building at the other end.

Once you enter the lab, proceed until you reach a curtain you can pull aside. Open the curtain and move on through to the next room to trigger a boss battle!

metal-gear-solid-5-s-rank-walkthrough-boss-fight-the-man-on-fire-01

As soon as the Man on Fire appears, run outside the building to safety. AVOID going to the tunnel to escape because the Fire Man will destroy ans seal off the area (and it will greatly affect your mission ranking, as well).

phantom pain voices

The Man on Fire is immune to conventional firearms and explosive weapons. He is also immune to melee and will kill you instantly if he grabs you. If he gets close, dive away. Watch out if he winds up...a fireball will follow.

Try not to waste ammo on him and focus on incapacitating him. Be aware that summoning the chopper without disabling the Fire Man usually results in him shooting it out of the sky.

phantom pain voices

You can stun the Man on Fire with water from the water towers and the Water Tanks in the warehouse. Detonating C4 at the base of a water tower will bring it down, flooding the base area around the tower with water.

Alternately, stand near the the base of the water tower and let him shoot a fireball at the base. This will destroy the tower and the water will end up dousing him and incapacitating him temporarily.

phantom pain voices

Incapacitate the Fire Man with the water tower and then quickly call in the chopper and exfiltrate the Hot Zone before he can recover. You can also set a charge indoors near a tank, call the chopper, lure him, run, blow the trap, and escape.

ALTERNATE WATER POOL STRATEGY : One of the fastest ways to kill Man on Fire is to extinguish him using the small pool in the middle of the area. Lure him over to the water's edge, and then fire a shotgun/grenade launcher at him a few times until he falls into the water.

EASY VICTORY - STUN ARM BLAST

phantom pain voices

To defeat the Fire Man with just one simple attack, use a level 3 Stun Arm blast. With it, the attack will instantly stun the Fire Man and he'll disappear.

That being said, charging up the Stun Arm for the blast attack is going to be difficult since it takes 30 SECONDS to fully charge up. The best time to charge the arm is soon after Snake escapes the building. Move away from the collpsing beams and start charging up the Stun Arm just outside of the building and wait for the Fire Man to show up ( see screencap above ).

Stay mobile while charging so that the Fire Man's fireballs don't hit you. Unleash the attack as soon as the arm is charged for the easy win (don't wait for him to get too close).

Alternate Victory #1 - Fulton the Man on Fire

metal-gear-solid-5-how-to-extract-the-man-on-fire

The Man on Fire can also be defeated using a Fulton device. This trick is easiest to accomplish using the Wormhole upgrade to the Fulton system, but works with the Fulton Cargo +2 upgrade as well.

phantom pain voices

Douse the Man on Fire with tanks and/or the water towers. Then quickly close in and attach your Fulton system. If you're using the Wormhole, he'll simply disappear. Extraction will fail but he'll be removed from the mission. If you grabbed him before triggering the tunnel collapse, you'll be free to exit through the tunnel and extract.

If using the standard Fulton, you'll have to use gunfire to drive away the Man on Fire's teleporting ally or use the Fulton Supply Drop trick. Otherwise, the floating boy will keep cutting the cord.

Alternate Victory #2 - Water Gun + Cliff + Vehicle

It is possible to lure the Man On Fire to the cliff and stun him with the water gun long enough to get in the vehicle and run him off the cliff which ends the battle immediately. Just make sure to jump out of the vehicle before you do so. Just keep in mind that it takes about 60 shots to stun him with the water gun.

It is also possible to send him off the cliff with a few well placed shotgun blast from up close. Simply lure him near the cliff and run around him so his back is to the cliff and shoot him enough times to send him flying backward; this will end the battle straight away.

Optional Objectives

Objective: successfully hit the floating boy with an attack.

phantom pain voices

To make the floating boy appear, incapacitate the Fire Man by dousing him under one of the towers. For those brief few seconds, the floating boy will appear above him.

If you try to shoot the floating boy, he will dodge your shots. Instead, immediately get near the incapacitated Fire Man and quickly call in a Fulton Supply drop above him. If done correctly, the supply box will hit the floating boy on the head which ends the battle automatically.

OBJECTIVE: Fight off the Man on Fire

phantom pain voices

Read the walkthrough above for all the different ways to defeat the Fire Man.

OBJECTIVE: Pinpoint the route to Ngumba Industrial Zone from an intel file

phantom pain voices

The Intel file can be found inside a CFA tent at guard post #20 on the map (just north of Munoko Ya Nioka).

OBJECTIVE: Extract an African wild dog near the N.I.Z. West Guard Post

phantom pain voices

There are actually TWO sets of African wild dogs located near the Ngumba Industrial Zone. The first duo can be found near the river close to guard post #17. The second duo are up on the hill just before reaching the tunnel to Ngumba Zone.

Be quick to Tranq and extract the dogs, otherwise the guardpost soldiers will shoot and kill them!

OBJECTIVE: Listen to the conversation about the bodies at Munoko ya Nioka Station

phantom pain voices

This objective will require patience because you'll need to follow the transport truck driver as he slowly makes his way to Ngumba Zone and listen to his three conversations. The truck driver is located outside of Munoka Ya Nioka at the southern gate ( see screencap above ), so jump in the back of his truck and ride along to his destinations.

phantom pain voices

CONVO #1: The first conversation takes place at guard post #20 (where you find the Intel file). Listen in on the convo and then jump back into the truck.

phantom pain voices

CONVO #2: The second conversation takes place at guard post just before the destroyed bridge. After the convo, the truck driver will move on foot to the third location up towards Ngumba Zone.

phantom pain voices

CONVO #3: The third convo will be at the CFA tent at the top of the hill leading towards the Ngumba Zone tunnel (this is where you also find the P.T. Easter egg ). Once the convo ends, feel free to extract the truck driver since he has some pretty high stats.

Ishmael is a new character in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain . He initially reveals himself several weeks after Big Boss awakens in the Cypriot hospital when the mysterious group infiltrates the hospital in order to kill Big Boss. Ishmael introduces himself and, when asked who he is, responds "You're talking to yourself. Been watching over you for 9 years." His true identity remains unknown until the game's end.

Ishmael's name comes from the main character from the classic novel Moby Dick . He refers to Big Boss as Ahab, a reference to Captain Ahab in the same novel.

Ishmael was a large part of the initial marketing campaign for The Phantom Pain. When the game was first revealed at the 2012 Spike Video Game Awards simply as its subtitle, without the key title of Metal Gear Solid V , Ishmael was a key character in the reveal trailer. During an interview with the supposed director at the appropriately named Moby Dick Studios, the man wore bandages on his face to look exactly like Ishmael. Later, at GDC 2013, Hideo Kojima removed an Ishmael mask to reveal the game officially as Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

phantom pain voices

On March 11, 1984, Ishmael saved Venom Snake from being assassinated by Quiet , and managed to fight her off by throwing bottles of various medical substance at her, which eventually engulfed her in flames and caused her to jump out of the window to escape. He then assisted Snake out of the hospital and to safety.

Ishmael claimed that he was a former acquaintance of Venom Snake and had been watching over him for the last 9 years while he was in a coma following XOF's attack on Mother Base. After giving Snake a shot of digoxin that helped him to move somewhat and escorted Snake to the stairs before deciding to take the elevator after realizing he wasn't recovered enough to actually walk. They eventually arrive at the elevators, but encounter a child wearing a gas mask standing in their path, who levitated through the ceiling.

Directly after this, the elevator doors explode, setting Ishmael on fire as an demonic apparition, later known as the Man on Fire , appears before disappearing due to the activation of the emergency sprinklers. Ishmael then led Venom Snake back the way they had come, in the flame-covered room, towards the emergency stairs. He proceeded to hijack an ambulance and drove Venom Snake to safety, although he disappeared in the car crash after Ocelot had arrived to rescue Venom.

In the secret ending, it is revealed that Ishmael is the first to awake from the car crash, being pulled from the vehicle by Ocelot himself. Ishmael, who is now known to be the real Big Boss, removes his bandages and is given clothing, an eyepatch and a bike so he can leave the scene. Ocelot tells Big Boss that the "double" (Venom Snake) will be fine with the title and already believes himself to be Big Boss. For all intents and purposes, Venom Snake is the "Big Boss" now.

Later, Ishmael/Big Boss sends a tape to Venom Snake telling Venom that he (Ishmael) is the actual Big Boss, but tells Venom that he is also Big Boss as he has carved out his own future. He says the two have created "legends" and the Venom Snake is considered a "friend" as he now holds he title in Diamond Dogs.

The opposite side of the tape reads "Operation Intrude N313" and Venom Snake puts it into an MSX bitcorder, implying that Big Boss is warning Venom of Solid Snake's arrival at Outer Heaven.

Select 23-The White Mamba from your mission list, then choose the lone Landing Zone to the north-east of Bwala ya Masa. Once you're on the Sortie Prep screen, set D-Dog as your buddy and the Drop Time to 0600. With preparations complete, commence the mission!

Note that you'll need to use non-lethal force to complete your task so ensure you've packed plenty of suitable equipment. In particular, you should bring your standard WU S.PISTOL and the tranquilliser-based RENOV-ICKX TP sniper rifle. Furthermore, if you decide to bring Quiet along for the ride, it's vital that you research and equip the non-lethal Guilty Butterfly first.

The White Mamba: Approach Bwala ya Masa, then infiltrate the village

Your next task is to stop the militant forces ransacking Masa Village. To do this, you'll need to extract their commander - known as the White Mamba - out of their area. There is, however, one small catch: the militants are all children, and you'll automatically fail the mission if one is killed.

Once you've touched down in the mission zone, open your iDroid and locate your destination. As you'll see, it lies to the south-west, not too far from your starting position. There's also a main road running south-west toward it, but this is heavily occupied by hostiles.

As such, you'll need to stay well away from the road as you make your approach. The safest way to do this is to run directly south until your path is blocked by high rocks. Follow the rocks south-west and, eventually, you'll reach a small hill ahead. Work your way up the hill and locate the small outcrop to your right, overlooking the village. Activate your binoculars and search for hostiles.

When you're ready to continue, drop down off the outcrop and begin moving south-west. Pass between the watchtower and squat grey building ahead and deal with any soldiers that you encounter along the way. Remember, however: killing the child soldiers will result in mission failure, so you'll need to knock them unconscious with tranquilliser shots.

Once passed the building, you'll find yourself on a rocky ledge overlooking the central part of the village. Look south-west and, just over the rooftops, you'll see a grimy white boat, docked at the edge of the river. Intel suggests that the White Mamba is located here, so you'll need to wind your way through the buildings, heading toward the riverbank, until you reach the vessel.

Reach the boat and locate the White Mamba

From your lookout, head left and start travelling south-west. Cross the dirt track, slip between the concrete barriers and approach the high rock wall ahead. Next, hug the wall to your left and begin following it as it winds to the south, moving alongside the village. Stay low and use the tall grass as cover against prying enemy eyes.

As the rock wall bends to the south-west, follow it around and work your way down the steep incline. With the wall still to your left, locate the tiny hut near the stream on your right. Pause alongside the hut, open your iDroid and drop a waypoint marker on the White Mamba's vessel - which should be ever so slightly to the north-west of your current position.

Next, start moving toward the marker. Pass the small corrugated hut on your right, then slip between the two orange buildings ahead. Once you reach the dirt road, check that the cost is clear then quickly cross over to the other side. You'll spot a tall wooden windmill directly ahead - stay low and approach it cautiously, keeping watch for hostiles. Luckily, D-Dog's enemy-sniffing skills should prevent you from bumping into patrols unexpectedly.

Board the boat and confront the White Mamba

Once you reach the windmill, lie prone and crawl north-east toward the red shipping container lying next the boat. Move clockwise around the container and start journeying north-west again, keeping the ship on your right. Shortly, you'll see a large hole in the ship's hull and a ladder just beyond it. Use the ladder to reach the main deck, then climb the steps located slightly to the left ahead.

At the top of the steps, you'll come face-to-face with the infamous White Mamba. Once the cut-scene is over, you'll need to focus your efforts on bringing him down.

Fight and defeat the White Mamba

As your target is a child, you're once again limited to using non-lethal force. However, you're now authorised to use CQC. As soon as the action resumes, run over to your target (he'll likely still be standing by his chair) and punch him a few times in the face. He'll fall to the ground, then pick himself up and immediately run away.

From this point on, White Mamba will continue to move around the top three decks of the boat, picking up various objects to use as weapons. He'll then attempt to run in close and attack, most often from behind. As such, you'll need to roam the ship and hunt him down as he thunders about. An equally effective, but slightly less interesting tactic is to stay in the starting room and wait for your target to return - which he frequently will.

Whenever White Mamba moves in close and strikes, wait until the last possible moment then quickly counter the attack - if you're successful, you'll slam your target to the ground.

All in all, this is a relatively easy battle - although you should note that the White Mamba's attacks can do considerable damage you're caught unprepared. Additionally, you'll need to wary of the children lining the riverbank to the north-east and south-east.

Once the battle begins, they'll open fire whenever they see you out on deck - meaning that it's safest to stay on the south-west side of the boat. If their gunfire is causing you problems, you might want to thin their ranks using your non-lethal RENOV-ICKX TP sniper rifle that you packed earlier.

Extract the White Mamba

When you've successfully managed to slam White Mamba to the ground a number of times, he'll (reluctantly) concede defeat. After the cutscene is over, you'll need to get him back to Mother Base. Luckily, the child soldiers outside have dispersed - so all that's left to do is carry your target over to the Landing Zone and leave the area.

Before you do, however, there's one last optional task - which is considerably easier now that the village is clear of hostiles. First, open your iDroid and identify the helicopter's rendezvous point.

Next, locate the building directly to the north of the landing zone. Count one building up from here (again to the north), then one to the east. You'll find a kidnapped Elite Soldier (who's well worth rescuing) at this last location.

Make your way over then drop White Mamba to the ground. Nip inside the building, grab the prisoner then carry her out into the open. Next, Fulton the prisoner to safety, hoist your target onto your shoulders and return to the chopper. Once White Mamba is onboard, the mission is complete. As a reward, you'll earn the White Mamba [2] cassette tape and the Mamba emblem part.

After the debrief is over, you'll automatically return to Mother Base. Sit back and enjoy the cutscene then summon a chopper and leave the area.

Metal Gear Solid V: TPP Guide – How to Beat the Man on Fire in Mission 20

phantom pain voices

Not counting Quiet, the Man on Fire is the first boss you’ll encounter in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain . He appears at the end of Mission 20: Voices, and you’ll have to defeat him before you can leave the hot zone by chopper. For this fight, I recommend bringing a grenade launcher if you have one. If not, a simple lethal pistol will do as well, but the grenade launcher makes things a little easier.

At the end of Mission 20, Skull Face will spot you in the hospital and call upon the Psycho Kid and the Man on Fire to attack you. You can’t fight him in the hospital, so just run out into the open space. Kaz will inform you that he can’t bring the chopper in until the Man on Fire is down, as he’ll just blow it up. As soon as the fight starts, look out for the two giant water tanks in the area. Your goal here is to lure the Man on Fire to where the water tank is, and then blow it up and douse him in water.

If you have a grenade launcher, all you have to do is shoot the water tank itself when the Man on Fire is in the area, and the water will fall on him. If not, use a pistol to shoot the red barrel at the base of the water tank, and that will do the trick as well. The hard part of this fight is getting onto the chopper before the Man on Fire gets back up. I suggest calling in the chopper right before luring him to the water tank, as this will give you a bit of time to get in and start firing with the gattling gun.

Alternatively, you can also place a C4 explosive near the tank at the shallow pool. Once the Man on Fire wanders in between the tank and pool, blowing the tank up will cause an explosion that forces him into the pool, leaving him incapacitated for a short while.

Don’t bother shooting the Man on Fire with the grenade launcher, as he’ll just absorb the explosion. Also, if you have the water pistol, don’t bother using it against him either. It’ll take about 50 shots with the water pistol to take him down and frankly, it’ll take too much time and will just make it harder for you to survive the fight.

Once the chopper comes in and the Man on Fire is down, quickly hop into the chopper and start shooting at him with the gattling gun. If, for some reason, you are unable to get on the chopper even after using both water tanks, all you have to do is survive until it starts raining, and the boss fight will automatically end. The Man on Fire and the Psycho Kid will disappear, leaving you free to call in your chopper. However, do note that this method will probably rob you of that much coveted S Rank.
