Starting from the VI generation, the types of ghosts are also immune to the movements and abilities that prevent escape from flight, such as blocking signs and ghost signs. Pokémon of this type are generally related to fear, darkness and life after death. They usually live in abandoned houses, cemeteries, funerals and dark and uninhabited places, such as caves. Also, phantom-type Pokémon tend to be extremely bad and make jokes about humans just to see their faces and their reactions. Interestingly, the more a human being is afraid, the more Pokémon Pokémon will have the power to tease. In the worst case scenario, some phantom-type Pokémon can behave relatively deadly, such as attaching Jellicent to ships and their crews or the evolving family of Litwick, draining the vital energy of lost people.
Some of Ghost's famous Pokémon coaches include Agatha, third member of Kanto Elite Four; Morty, the fourth animator of Johto; Phoebe, second member of the Hoenn Elite Four; Fantina, fifth gym manager in the Sinnoh region; Shauntal, a member of Unova Elite Four; and Acerola, a test captain from Ulaula Island, Alola, as well as her third Elite Four member.

Just like other Pokémon games, Pokémon Go features many different types of Pokémon, all with their own strengths and weaknesses. In this Pokémon Go guide, we’ll explain how Pokémon types work, what type strengths and weaknesses are, and provides a table to help you learn what is strong against what.
Pokémon Go types, strengths, and weakness
Pokémon also has its own set of weaknesses and strengths . For example, bug-type Pokémon are weak against fire-, flying-, and rock-type moves. Bug-type moves are strong against dark-, grass-, and psychic-type moves. Fire-, flying-, and rock-type moves will do double damage against a bug-type, like Caterpie.
Some Pokémon have two types, which means they can have a doubled weakness or have their strength and weaknesses cancel out to just take normal damage. Rayquaza, a dragon- and flying-type, takes four times the damage from ice-type moves. On the flip side, Shuckle, a rock- and bug-type, takes normal damage from fire-type moves, since rock-type is strong against fire-type.
Strengths and weaknesses also aren’t necessarily just opposites of each other. Though fire-type move deal less damage to water-type Pokémon and water-type moves do doubled damage against fire-type Pokémon, this isn’t the case with every type. For example, fighting-type moves are strong against normal-types, but normal-types just do regular damage against fighting-types, rather than do reduced damage.
Knowing what Pokémon’s strengths and weaknesses are is an important aspect of raiding and battling. To do the most damage you can, you should make sure that your Pokémon’s moves are strong against what it’s battling.
Memorizing all of that can get confusing, so here’s a chart to help you out.

Note: Type effectiveness multipliers may vary in other games outside the core series .
Generation I
Generations ii to v, generation vi onwards, additional effects.
If the user has the Ability Scrappy or Mind's Eye , or the target is under the effect of the moves Foresight or Odor Sleuth , Normal - and Fighting-type moves will deal ×1 damage to Ghost-type Pokémon .
In Generation I only, Ghost-type Pokémon cannot be paralyzed by Lick , and are affected by Bide , Counter , Seismic Toss , SonicBoom , and Super Fang , despite these moves being Normal-type, which the Ghost type is normally immune to.
The move Curse , introduced in Generation II , functions differently when used by a Ghost-type Pokémon.
In Generations II and III only, Ghost-type Pokémon are immune to Glare .
From Generation VI onwards, Ghost-type Pokémon are immune to effects that prevent recall or escape (such as Mean Look and Shadow Tag ), and they are also guaranteed to flee from any wild battle regardless of Speed .
The move Trick-or-Treat , introduced in Generation VI, adds the Ghost type to the target's types .
As of Generation IX , 72 Pokémon or 7.05% of all Pokémon are Ghost-type (counting those that are Ghost-type in at least one of their forms , including regional forms ), making it the third rarest type among Pokémon after Fairy and before Dragon and Electric .
The Pokémon below are listed by their current types. Some Pokémon have had their types changed.
Pure Ghost-type Pokémon
Half ghost-type pokémon, primary ghost-type pokémon, secondary ghost-type pokémon, changed types.
These Ghost-type Pokémon have had their types changed.
Pokéstar Studios opponents
As of Generation IX , 34 moves or 3.72% of all moves are Ghost-type (excluding those that are Ghost-type only under certain circumstances), causing it to tie with Bug as the 5th rarest type among moves after Ice and Fairy and before Poison . Prior to changes in Generation IV , all damaging Ghost-type moves were physical , but they may now also be special depending on the attack.
Some moves have had their types changed.
The following Ghost-type moves have had their types changed.
Interacting with the Ghost type
A Pokémon with Protean or Libero will become a Ghost-type Pokémon if it uses a Ghost-type move. A Pokémon with Color Change , Imposter , RKS System , or Multitype will become a Ghost-type Pokémon if (respectively) it is hit with a Ghost-type move, is sent out against a Ghost-type opponent, is holding a Ghost Memory , or is holding a Spooky Plate or Ghostium Z .
Since Generation VI, Ghost-type Pokémon are also immune to Magnet Pull , Arena Trap , and Shadow Tag .
Exclusive Abilities
Only Ghost-type Pokémon have these Abilities. This does not include signature Abilities .
Cram-o-matic
Notable ghost-type trainers, core series, side series, spin-off games.
Due to the decreased amount of types in the TCG compared to the game series, Ghost-type Pokémon fall under the Psychic-type .
Psychic-type Pokémon in the TCG are generally weak to Darkness and other Psychic Pokémon, with resistances to Colorless and Fighting . Psychic-type Pokémon are strong against Grass (until Diamond & Pearl ), Fighting and Psychic Pokémon, whilst Colorless , Darkness , and Metal Pokémon can resist this type.

- Despite being introduced in Generation I , there were no pure Ghost-type Pokémon until Generation II introduced Misdreavus.
- Generation VII introduced the most Ghost-type moves of any generation, with eight. Generation V introduced the fewest Ghost-type moves, with only one, Hex .
- In Generation I , Ghost-type moves have no effect on Psychic-type Pokémon, though an abundance of evidence suggests that this may have been an error. Multiple sources mention that Ghost-type moves are super-effective on Psychic-type Pokémon: official strategy guides published by Nintendo , two episodes of the anime ( The Tower of Terror and Haunter versus Kadabra ), and even the games themselves, where a Pokémon Trainer in the Saffron Gym mentions that Psychic-type Pokémon "only fear Bugs and Ghosts" (though the reference to Ghost-type Pokémon was removed in Pokémon Yellow ). This was corrected in Generation II to make Ghost-type moves actually be super effective against Psychic-type Pokémon.
- It is also the only type to have ever been ineffective against two types: Normal and Psychic in Generation I.
- Ghost and Normal are the only two types to be ineffective against each other.
- As of Generation VI , Ghost is tied with Dragon for being the least resisted type.
- While the Ghost-type has an immunity to Normal-type moves, several damaging moves that display as Normal-type can affect them, including Hidden Power (whose actual type varies) and Struggle (which inflicts typeless damage from Generation II onward).
- Despite not being Ghost-type, Darkrai is also able to walk through walls.
- The only Pokémon to have ever possessed a double resistance to the Ghost-type naturally were Pawniard and Bisharp , both of which are dual-type Dark / Steel .
- Kalos is the only region without a notable Ghost-type specialist .
- In Pokémon Conquest , Ghost-type Pokémon which are not part- Flying-type or have Levitate are shown with an animation of physically passing through enemies, referencing the common belief that real-life ghosts can pass through solid objects. They cannot, however, pass through any other obstacle on the field in-game.
- Ghost- and Dark-type moves are super effective against the same types. As of Generation VI, the only difference between them is that Dark-type moves are not very effective on Fighting - or Fairy-type Pokémon while Ghost-type moves do not affect Normal-type Pokémon.
- As shown in Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon , some Ghost-type Pokémon, despite their name, can still die . This was first mentioned in Why Not Give Me a Z-Ring Sometime? , where Acerola revealed that her Shiny Mimikyu , Mimikins, is in fact the ghost of a deceased Mimikyu. Later, in A Timeless Encounter! , it is revealed that Professor Kukui had once befriended a Totem Trevenant that he nicknamed Elder. It is later revealed that Elder has since died, its body now a regular tree, though the circumstances of its death weren't revealed. Giratina is another Ghost-type whose life has been in danger, in Giratina and the Sky Warrior . However, despite this, it still appears that many Ghost-type Pokémon, particularly ones who are more similar to traditional ghosts, are indeed immune to the ravages of time and can live on indefinitely; for instance, a Yamask shown in A Night in the Nacrene City Museum! was told to be millennia old.
- All Ghost-type moves are eligible to be used in Sky Battles .
- The Ghost type was the last type to have at least one Pokémon officially owned by Ash in the anime, following his capture of a Gengar in A Chilling Curse! .
- Rock is the only type that has yet to be paired with Ghost.
- originally had three Pokémon in Generation I, then gained only one more in Generation II.
- are the only types that are weak to themselves.
- have one type immune to them and one type resistant to them.
- Until The Isle of Armor and the introduction of Poltergeist , every Ghost-type move had 100% accuracy or could not miss.
- In Japanese, the Ghost type shares its name with Haunter , whose Japanese name is ゴースト Ghost .

Pokémon Go Type chart, Type effectiveness and weakness explained
Calculate the damage for any matchup with our Pokémon Weakness Chart.
Type Chart methods of representing Type effectiveness have been popular since long before Pokémon Go , with all of the core Pokémon games revolving around them.
In brief, Pokémon types dictate whether one Pokémon is either strong or weak - super effective or not very effective - against another, dealing additional or reduced damage as a result - and receiving additional or reduced damage - as a result.
The standard Type chart that has evolved through the different generations will be like a second language to long-term Pokémon fans, but to newcomers it can appear too daunting to even know where to begin, so with that in mind we've put together a type chart of our own, as well as an explanation of how Type effectiveness works and how to plan around it, just below.
On this page:
Type chart, effectiveness and weakness explained in Pokémon Go
Pokémon go type effectiveness changes compared to other pokémon games.
Pokémon Go's Types are exactly the same as those in the main Pokémon games, but the effect of those type matchups is slightly different: in brief, things like effective or resisted attacks have slightly different multipliers to the main Pokémon games - although a December 2018 update brought them slightly closer in line.
Here's a Pokémon Go type chart to get you started on what's effective against what.
The Season of Adventures Abound is here! The Harvest Festival has brought Smoliv and it's evolutions to Pokémon Go! You can also work on the Timed Investigation: Master Ball quest and compete in the Go Battle League . Be sure to compete in Shadow Raids , complete Routes , use Daily Adventure Incense for the chance of encountering Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos and Galarian Moltres . This incense may also give you encounters with other rare Pokémon in Pokémon Go.
As you may have noticed, there are also no Type immunities in Pokémon Go, unlike in the main series. But that's not the end of it. The immunities removed are:
- Ground immune to Electric
- Flying immune to Ground
- Ghost immune to Normal and Fighting
- Normal and Fighting immune to Ghost
- Steel immune to Poison
- Dark immune to Psychic
- Fairy immune to Dragon
Instead of a total immunity to damage, these initially worked the same as simple resistances. Now, however, they've been tweaked to form another tier of resistance, with the defending Pokémon that would normally be immune taking just 0.39 times the amount of damage it normally would - in other words, type immunity roughly cuts the amount of damage received to about a third.
Here's a full rundown of the multipliers that apply to standard, super effective, not very effective, immune, and doubly effective attacks.
- Not very effective - 0.625x damage, instead of the 0.5x damage done in the main series.
- Super effective - 1.6x damage, instead of 2x damage done in the main series.
- Immunity - 0.39x damage, instead of 0 damage done in the main series.
- Doubly effective - 2.56x damage, instead of 4x damage done in the main series.
In other words, the latest tweaks to Type effectiveness brings them noticeably closer to the multipliers in the mainline games - but still not in line with them entirely. It does make Type effectiveness all the more important though, so it's well worth getting to grips with those matchups if you can!
Ultimately, it's your mastery of three elements that will give you the greatest shot in PvP and the Gym and Raiding scene: Type effectiveness, understanding Pokémon Go's moves , and having a good idea of the best Pokémon in Pokémon Go .

Ghost-type Pokémon may not always be among the strongest, but when they come into games, they tend to be tricky to defeat. A core typing for one of the Elite Four in many games, it’s the Ghost-type’s strengths against many popular move types that makes these Pokémon quite formidable.
On this page, you’ll discover the Ghost-type weaknesses, the weaknesses of dual-type Ghost Pokémon, and the move types that aren’t as effective or simply don’t work against Ghost.
What are the Pokémon ghost weaknesses?
Ghost-type Pokémon are weak to:
Both Ghost and Dark-type attacks are super effective against Ghost-type Pokémon, dealing double (x2) the move’s standard amount of damage.
That’s for pure Ghost-type Pokémon weaknesses. You can also find dual-type Ghost Pokémon, which tend to have more weaknesses while being stronger against far more attack types.
For example, a pure Ghost Pokémon like Mismagius is weak to Ghost and Dark-type attacks, strong against Poison and Bug, and immune to Normal and Fighting-type moves. A Ghost-Flying Pokémon like Drifblim, however, is weak against Electric, Ice, Rock, Ghost, and Dark, immune to Normal, Fighting, and Ground, and strong against Grass, Poison, and especially Bug.
What are dual-type Ghost Pokémon weak against?
Here are all of the Pokémon ghost weaknesses.
For the most part, Ghost and Dark-type attacks are super effective, so they are often good choices for exploiting Ghost weaknesses. They’re even doubly super effective (x4) against Ghost-Psychic Pokémon.
How many weaknesses does Ghost types have?
A pure Ghost Pokémon has only two weaknesses: Ghost and Dark. If a Ghost or Dark-type attack hits a Ghost-type Pokémon, it will play to its weaknesses, be super effective, and be twice a powerful as usual.
If you’re up against a dual-type Ghost Pokémon, the second typing can make them stronger against these usual Ghost weaknesses but also open up more super effective threats.
For example, Normal-Ghost Pokémon like Hisuian Zoroark are immune to Ghost-type moves and are strong against Bug and Poison, with only Dark as their weakness.
What moves don’t work against Ghost type Pokémon?
Normal and Fighting-type attacks don’t work against any Ghost Pokémon, regardless of if they’re a pure Ghost or dual-type Ghost. Others like Ghost-Normal, Ghost-Ground, Ghost-Flying, Ghost-Dark, Ghost-Steel, and Ghost-Fairy Pokémon are immune to even more move types.
What Pokémon are strong against Ghost types?
Dark Pokémon are always strong against Ghost in Pokémon. So, pure Dark Pokémon like Umbreon, Darkrai, and Zoroark are all good picks to combat tricky Ghost Pokémon. The only weaker pick among the Dark Pokémon is Spiritomb due to its Ghost-Dark typing.
As they’re strong against and Ghost and Dark attacks and immune to Psychic moves – which can be common among Ghost Pokémon – Dark Pokémon are good picks. With dual-type Dark Pokémon, you can find even more success due to them being strong against more types. These Pokémon are good against Ghost:
- Umbreon (Dark)
- Honchkrow (Dark-Flying)
- Weavile (Dark-Ice)
- Darkrai (Dark)
- Zoroark (Dark)
What types are Ghost Pokémon strong against?
Ghost-type Pokémon are strong against Poison and Bug-type attacks while being completely immune to Normal and Fighting-type moves.
Due to the mixed typing, some dual-type Ghost Pokémon will take a regular amount of damage when hit with attacks of some of these types. For example, Ghost-Water Pokémon are also strong against Fire, Grass, Ice, Steel, and Fairy moves.
Here are the attack types that each form of dual-type Ghost Pokémon is strong (½ damage) against:
Now, thanks to our Pokémon ghost weakness guide, when you’re faced with one of these tricky Ghost types, you’ll know the moves that play to Ghost weaknesses, how to best dual-type Ghost Pokémon, and the moves that don’t do much damage if you want to catch the Pokémon.

All Ghost-type Pokemon weaknesses, explained
We've got everything you need to know about Ghost-type Pokémon and their weaknesses.

Scattered throughout the lands of Pokémon are hundreds of ‘mon with different abilities, attributes, and properties that determine how they interact with their world. Many of these properties and attributes boil down to a Pokémon’s type.
Pokémon can have one or two types that determine everything about them, from the moves they can use to the Pokémon they’re strong and weak against. Trainers who want to thrive in the competitive world of Pokémon need to understand how these types influence every battle they participate in.
There are 18 unique types, each with various strengths and weaknesses.
One of the most exciting types in the game is Ghost, which has a complex web of advantages and disadvantages. Whether you’re looking to protect your Ghost-types or decimate someone else’s, we’ve outlined everything you need to know about Ghost-type weaknesses.
Here are all of the Ghost-type weaknesses.
All Ghost Type Pokémon weaknesses
All ghost type pokémon resistances, best counters for ghost type pokémon.

- Dark; dark type moves deal double damage against ghost-type Pokémon.
- Ghost; ghost type moves deal double damage against ghost-type Pokémon.
The Psychic-Dark-Ghost triangle of strengths and weaknesses has always been tricky to keep straight. Ghost-types have a standard disadvantage against Dark-types : Ghost-type moves only do half damage to Dark-types, and Dark-type moves are super effective on Ghost-types.
In addition to actual Dark-type Pokémon, plenty of non-Dark-types can learn common Dark-type moves like Bite, Crunch, and Knock Off. This is an excellent way for Normal-type and Fighting-type Pokémon to gain an edge over pesky Ghost-types.
Believe it or not, Ghost is weak to itself . This is different from most other same-type matchups: most types have a resistance to themselves, with the notable exception of Dragon-types. This means that Ghost-types will crumble when faced by other Ghost-types that know moves like Shadow Ball.
Just be careful when fielding a Ghost-type against another Ghost-type: they’re both weak to each other, which could end poorly if your enemy lands a lucky critical hit or high-powered Ghost move. If you’re looking to counter a Ghost-type with Ghost-type moves, it’s best to teach those moves to a non-Ghost-type Pokémon that isn’t weak to Ghost.
- Poison; poison-type moves are only half as effective when used against ghost-type Pokémon
- Bug; bug-type moves are only half as effective when used against ghost-type Pokémon
- Fighting; fighting-type moves will have no effect on ghost-type Pokémon
- Normal; normal-type moves will have no effect on ghost-type Pokémon
Ghost-type Pokémon are resistant to two types: Bug and Poison. Many Ghost-types are also part Poison, as with the Gastly line, giving them quadruple resistance to Poison-type moves. Avoid using Bug-type or Poison-type moves against any Ghost-types you encounter.
Related: Pokémon type chart: Strengths, weaknesses, and resistances
To make up for its relatively short list of strengths and weaknesse s, Ghost-types have total immunity to two types: Normal and Fighting. Normal-type and Fighting-type moves will have no effect when used against Ghost-type Pokémon. Ghost-type moves do not affect Normal-type Pokémon, either, so keep that in mind.
There is one way to ensure that Normal-type and Fighting-type moves can hit a Ghost-type. Using the move Odor Sleuth, which many early-game Normal-type Pokémon know, will allow a Ghost-type to be hit by Normal-type and Fighting-type moves. The move Foresight will also do the same thing, which can help players who don’t have Ghost-type or Dark-type moves to take even the best Ghost-type Pokémon.

- Zoroark
The best Pokémon to bet on when attempting to counter Ghost-type Pokémon are pure dark types that can also learn Ghost-type moves.

All Ghost-Type Pokemon Weaknesses and Counters in Pokemon Go
How to hit hard against those pesky ghosties!
Ghost-type Pokemon are unique in the game because they are the only type with two immunities: Normal and Fighting. Aside from these types, you can also use Ghost to counter Psychic Pokemon. They are also good against Bug and Poison Types. Despite their many strengths, there’s always a way to counter Ghost-types. This article will teach you how to counter Ghost-type Pokemon in Pokemon GO.
How to Counter Ghost-type Pokemon in Pokemon GO
There are two types of Pokemon you can use when facing a Ghost-type Pokemon: you can either use another Ghost-type or a Dark-type. Let’s talk about the best ones you can add to your team.

Dark-type Pokemon are the best for dealing with Ghost-types. In Pokemon GO, we highly recommend Darkrai with a Snarl-Shadow Ball combo. If you don’t have Darkrai, the next best choice is Houndoom with a Snarl-Foul Play move set. But if you don’t have the mega evolution (yet), even the regular Houndoom is just fine.
Though it won’t hit as hard, Umbreon is also a viable choice if you don’t have Houndoom. You can add Umbreon to your roster with just 25 Eevee candy , an Eevee, and a little walking in the night. Its best move set against Ghost is Snarl and Dark Pulse.

Ghost-type Pokemon is strong against other Ghost types, but since going into mirror matches are a bit risky, you need to make sure that your Pokemon is more powerful, or will at least hit first. After all, Ghost-types have pretty low HP!
To this end, Mega Gengar — the strongest-hitting Ghost Pokemon in the game — will do well in most matchups. You can also opt for Giratina (if you have it). Whether you use Mega Gengar or Giratina, you should use Shadow Claw and Shadow Ball for your move set.

What’s good Against Ghost type Pokemon?
Introduction.
The ghost type is another one of the eighteen types of Pokemon in the vast universe.
Previously, all the damage inflicted by a ghost type pokemon was physical, but recently special attacks have also been added to their arsenal.
They are represented by the colour purple and are symbolized by an eye. These Pokemon are very effective against the psychic type and other ghost type pokemon.
Weaknesses Of Ghost Type Pokemon
Ghost pokemon aren’t very effective against other types of Pokemon. Therefore, they can’t be your best choice against many different pokemon types.
One thing they’re good at is being good against themselves. But other than that, if they aren’t paired up smartly, they aren’t very effective against different types.
One powerful thing about them is that physical attacks don’t work against any ghost type pokemon. Their ultimate weakness is themselves.
Ghost type pokemon are immune to attacks from fighting type pokemon. They are only resisted by dark type pokemon and themselves.
But the main weakness of ghost type pokemon is that their moves are minor than powerful. Except for a few Pokemon, all other ghost type pokemon inflict lesser damage, and their attacks aren’t as powerful against other Pokemon.
Also, dark type pokemon is the wrong type to be weak against because of their abundance. However, since ghost type pokemon are powerless against these types, it is a significant weakness.
What Pokemon Have a Good Defense Against Attacks From Ghost Pokemon?
When it comes to physical attacks, most Pokemon have a higher physical stat than ghost type pokemon, so their attacks aren’t very effective against most other types because their defence stat is high generally.
Generally, these Pokemon have a good defence against attacks from ghost type pokemon.
Normal Type Pokemon
The normal type is one type that is resistant to ghost pokemon. This is because they mainly inflict their damage physically and are also generally immune to physical attacks.
Ghost type pokemon are good when it comes to defence because they can trap most of their opponents, but when it comes to attacking, a ghost type probably won’t be your best option to go with.
Since ghost type attacks aren’t too effective against the normal type, this is one of the best types of Pokemon to use against a ghost type.
Ghost Type Pokemon
Ghost type pokemon are weak against themselves. Their biggest weakness is their own type.
Since their attacks aren’t excellent to use against other Pokemon, they don’t affect other ghost type pokemon.
And most importantly, all ghost type moves are defensive, so they have a strong defence against their own attacks.
Also, almost every ghost type can learn Will’ o Wisp . This move cripples physical users, and it does damage over time as well.
Since the Ghost type is hard to kill physically, it is a good bet to use against themselves.
Dark Type Pokemon
Dark-type Pokemon is another type that is amazing to use against ghost type pokemon.
Dark-type Pokemon can inflict a lot of damage because of their special attacks, which are great to use against the ghost type due to their poor defensive stats.
The dark type has several moves which are super effective against the ghost type.
So although they make a fantastic pair, the Dark type is more likely to win when it comes to being up against each other.
What Type of Pokemon Is Good Against Ghost Pokemon And Why?
Some pokemon are weak to ghost type pokemon. The ghost type is immune to the fighting type as well and is effective against the psychic type.
But when it comes to weaknesses, the following Pokemon have the edge over this type and can be used in a battle against them.

Ground Type Pokemon
The ground type is a pokemon with a high physical stat. Due to this, it can inflict a good amount of physical damage against the ghost type pokemon.
But as I said earlier, physical attacks aren’t very effective against the ghost type, so why is the ground type in this list?
It’s because of their resistance to attacks from the ghost type and the fact that the ground type is suitable against a pokemon that inflicts physical damage.
Ghost type pokemon are also their own weakness. Some ghost type pokemon counter others completely.
The type doesn’t have any special moves on par with other types, but they still do the job against themselves.
Some ghost pokemon like Lunala and Alolan Marowak is terrific to use against other ghosts and should be your go-to Pokemon when you’re up against another ghost.
As I mentioned before, the dark type is an ample counter to the ghost type.
Therefore, a ghost type cannot stand against the dark type, and because of their abundance, it is a significant big weakness.
What Pokemon Is Good Against Ghost Pokemon?
Greninja is a dual Water/Dark type pokemon which is very good against the ghost type.
Greninja can also transform into a unique form known as Ash-Greninja which is super effective against a Ghost type pokemon.
Yveltal is a mixture of Dark and the Flying type and is a formidable foe for the Ghost type.
Weaville is another Dark/Ice pokemon which is amazing to use against the ghost type.
What Attacks To Use Against Ghost Type Pokemon
Fiery wrath.
You can use Fiery Wrath against ghost pokemon. It is super effective.
Sucker Punch
Sucker punch is another super effective move against the ghost type.
Throat Chop
Another good move to use against them is the Throat chop . It is also super practical.
The ghost type has a low physical attack stat, and all its moves are a little weak. But when it comes to defence, the ghost type can perform well.
But whatever the case, it can’t deny that if they’re alone, the ghost type isn’t that effective against any other pokemon.
If you’re ever up against a ghost type, whip out a dark type pokemon without hesitation, and you are sure to win.
I hope this article increased your knowledge of the pokemon universe, and I hope it helps you win battles against your opponent.

There are multiple Ghost-type Pokémon through the Paldea region, and you can expect to battle against a lot of them in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Ghost-types can be challenging to battle against because they only have a handful of weaknesses, but knowing what those are can prepare you to achieve victory against them. Here’s what you need to know about Ghost-type weaknesses in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
All Ghost-type weaknesses in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
A standard Ghost-type is only weak against two types of Pokémon moves: other Ghost-types, and Dark-types. These are the best options against a Ghost-type in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. A Pokémon does not need to be a Ghost or a Dark-type to use them. You should be able to see what type of attacks your Pokémon has when you click the summary and look through their moves.
Related : How to change a Pokémon’s Tera type in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

When battling against Ghost-types, it’s important to note that they are immune to Normal and Fighting-type attacks and can resist Poison and Bug-type moves. You want to avoid using any Normal or Fighting-type attack against them as it doesn’t harm them at all, and they take half damage from any Poison or Bug-type moves.
Ghost-type Pokémon frequently appear in the Paldea region, so having a team that can counter them will be a good choice. If you’re feeling risky, another Ghost-type Pokémon are perfect to take them down, but they also have the same strengths and weaknesses, so a Dark-type might be better suited for you. Pokémon that are resistant to Ghost-type attacks are only going to be Dark-type Pokémon, so these will remain to be your best option when attempting to battle any Ghost-type Pokémon or a Pokémon that frequently uses Ghost-type moves in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

The best type to use to take on Ghost-types are Dark-type Pokemon. Dark-type moves hit Ghost-types for super effective damage, while Ghost-type moves hit Dark-type Pokemon for half the normal damage, as Ghost moves are resisted by Dark types. Strong Dark-type Pokemon you can use again Ghost-types are Mega Houndoom, Mega Gyarados, Tyranitar, Darkrai, Weavile, and so on.
The runner-ups for the best type to use to fight against Ghost-type Pokemon are Normal-types and Ghost-types themselves. Normal-type Pokemon are immune to all Ghost moves, and can hit Ghost-types with the large coverage that Normal-types generally have. Some great Normal-types you can use are Mega Lopunny, Regigigas, Porygon Z, Meloetta (both forms), and so on.
Ghost-type moves are super effective against their own type—Ghost, which is why Ghost-types are a counter to themselves. Ghost type moves are also not very effective against dark and especially normal type Pokémon.
The best ghost type Pokémon: Giratina
Giratina is a powerful Pokémonin Pokémon Go and you can often find people using it in PvP battles.
It comes in two forms. Its Origin form has more defence, while its Altered form has more attack, so you can choose which is more important to you. Both can be found in five-star raid battles, although the pool of Pokémonthat can appear in these battles is constantly changing, so you may need to check whether it is available at the time you’re reading this.
Giratina is a ghost and dragon type legendary Pokémon. It will take less damage from bug, electric, fighting, fire, grass, normal, poison, and water type attacks.
However, bear in mind that it is vulnerable to dark, dragon, fairy, ghost, and ice type attacks.
The best ghost type Pokémon: Gengar
Gengar is one of the most powerful ghost type pokémon in Pokémon Go. It also has a Mega Evolution, which can be used for even greater power in battle.
Gengar can be evolved from Gastly (via Haunter) with candy. However, if you trade a Haunter with a friend you can also get it without needing to save up all those candies. Or, if you get really lucky, you can sometimes just catch Gengar in the wild.
Gengar is a ghost and poison type, so it is resistant to grass and fairy, and especially normal, poison, bug, and fighting damage. However, it is vulnerable to ground, ghost, psychic, and dark type attacks.
The best ghost type Pokémon: Chandelure
Chandelure is a powerful Pokémonfor taking into battle in Pokémon Go. It also has a Shadow form which amps up its attack power.
Chandelure can be evolved from Litwick, which can rarely be found in the wild or can be hatched from 10km eggs.
As a ghost and fire type, Chandelure has a lot of resistances. It will take reduced damage from poison, steel, fire, grass, ice, and fairy attacks, and even more reduced damage from normal, fighting and bug-type attacks.
However it is vulnerable to ground, rock, ghost, water, and dark type attacks.
The best ghost type Pokémon: Trevenant
Trevenant is an interesting Pokémon that has a well-rounded set of stats. With its variety of strengths, it can be a good pokémon to have on hand if you’re not sure what to expect from your opponent.
It can be evolved from Phantump for 200 candy, so catch as many as you can, walk with it as your buddy, and feed it berries when it’s in gyms to gather those up.
Trevenant is a ghost and grass type, making it resistant to ground, water, grass, electric, normal, and fighting type moves.
However, it is weak to flying, ghost, fire, ice, and dark type moves.

Pokemon Go Type Chart
What are Pokemon Go Types? Every single Pokemon in Pokemon Go has an elemental type. Types are categories a Pokemon is placed in these can determine a lot about a Pokemon. Pokemon Go Types can determine where you will find certain Pokemon living and the type of moves they can learn. The most important thing Pokemon Types can determine is a Pokemon Weakness this is further explained below with our Pokemon Go Type Chart also known as a Pokemon Go Weakness Chart, for short PoGo Type Chart.
There is 18 different types in this PoGo Type Chart, and each type is either strong, weak or neutral to other types .

What Pokemon Type Do You Think I Am? NORMAL FIRE WATER . Ghost and dark type moves are effective against ghost types. And there is actually some degree of logic behind that. Ghosts can fight ghosts, ghosts live in ghost and dark are the only attack types that are super effective against ghost type pokemon. I think very literally about type matchups.
What Is Weak To What
If youre here, you probably dont know the type weaknesses and resistances. Also, maybe you dont know that when a pokmon uses an attack of its type, like if an elecrtic pokmon uses an electric attack, the damage is multiplied by 1.5. Well, here are the types:
Normal is a plain type. Some people say its useless, but others say its great. Id say Normal type pokmon are good, many of them have good status and they have only one weakness, Fighting, and are competely immune to Ghost, although they resist no other type. Normal type attacks, however, are not as good. No type is weak to them, but Ghost is immune to Normal and Rock and Steel resist it. But Normal attacks can be the solution to your problems anyway, as most pokmon can learn Normal attacks and many of them are strong. The Normal type is a physical type, so all Normal attacks are counted as physical attacks.
Fire is a hot type. Fire is a powerful type that should be on every team. Scizor and Forretress, both very common in teams, are only weak to Fire. Fire is super effective on Bug, Steel, Grass and Ice and is not very effective on Fire, Water, Rock and Dragon. No type is immune to Fire. Water, Rock and Ground are super effective on Fire pokmon and Fire, Grass, Bug, Ice and Steel are not very effective on them. The Fire type is a special type, so all Fire attacks are counted as special attacks.

Ghost Type Pokemon
It is known that the Phantom type has small Pokémon, many of which have low HP and move. In battles, the Phantom type is useful because it is the only type that has two immunities: Normal and Combat, which are common types of movement.
Some of Ghost’s famous Pokémon coaches include Agatha, third member of Kanto Elite Four Morty, the fourth animator of Johto Phoebe, second member of the Hoenn Elite Four Fantina, fifth gym manager in the Sinnoh region Shauntal, a member of Unova Elite Four and Acerola, a test captain from Ulaula Island, Alola, as well as her third Elite Four member.
Which Types Of Pokemon Attacks Are Effective Against Which Types Of Pokemon

From an attacking perspective, Grass- type attacks are strong against Water-, Rock-, and Ground- type Pokémon and weak against Bug-, Fire-, Flying-, Grass-, Poison-, Dragon-, and Steel- type Pokémon . In a Battle, you can tell if an attack is strong or weak by the prompts that appear on screen.
What type is immune to fighting?
It is the only type that deals super effective damage against Normal. Ghosts immunity to Fighting can be nullified by Foresight or Odor Sleuth. Most Fighting type Pokémon can learn Rock- type moves to check Bug- types and Flying types .

How This Affects Pokmon With Multiple Types
As I mentioned before, some Pokémon will have multiples types, and this table gets even more tricky to understand once you start looking at how interactions like that work. The good news is theres a pretty simple way to break it down.
All modifiers for damage by a particular attack are calculated together when it comes to dealing with Pokémon that have multiple types.
For example, if you use a Flying attack against a Pokémon with both Bug and Grass types, it would do four times as much damage, since Flying attacks usually do double damage to each type.
Following in the pattern, if you were to use a Ground attack against a Pokémon with both Bug and Grass types, it would do 1/4 of the damage, since ground attack normally would do 1/2 damage to each type.

Tips On How To Remember Pokmon Types
For anyone who has invested years of play into this series, the type system becomes second nature. While in time your memory too will retain most of, if not the full set of relationships it is worth learning the logical relationships that do exist.
The classic example taught at the beginning of every Pokémon game is that fire is super effective against grass, which is in turn super effective against water, which is in turn super effective against fire. This is easy enough to follow fire burns grass, grass thrives with water, water puts out fire but finding similar relationships in the other 18 types is will help you remember the system.
Here are some other ideas to get you started:
- Rocks effectiveness against flying is reminiscent of the phrase kill two birds with one stone
- Similarly, psychic is effective against fighting because brains are better than brawn but psychic is vulnerable to dark and ghost because the mind cannot cope with the unknown and supernatural
- Ground types are immune to electric attacks because being grounded is an important principle in electric circuits but ground can be swept away be water, cracked by ice and exploited by grass.
With the addition of new types over the years, the Pokémon type system has got a little more complicated than Rock-Paper-Scissors, but once you’ve committed the above to memory , you’ll have no problem finding the right Pokémon for the right job.

Tips When Using Ghost
- Dual-type Ghosts can be good to a certain degree. When a pure Ghost-type only has Ghost moves, then they cant deal with Normal-types efficiently. Having a secondary type with another set of moves can be useful because Dual-type Ghosts maintain their immunity to Normal and Fighting and they can deal damage to Normal-types as well.
- Another beautiful thing about Ghost-types is that they can learn a wide range of TMs . They can learn TMs that arent necessarily just Ghost-types. They can learn other type moves like Fire, Water, Electric, and more. This can be a good idea to mix and match your Ghost-type so that it can be effective in battle.
- Ghost-types are generally available in the middle part of any of the main Pokemon games. By that time, they can be suitable in terms of the strength and power that they have to offer.
- A lot of Ghost-type moves do damage over time. Think of it as something like Poison, but it can be removed. In fact, Curse is a reliable move for some players because it can be effective against strong Pokemon at the cost of your Ghost-types life.
In closing, Ghost-type Pokemon can be something gimmicky and probably not something that you would consider using. The good thing is that there arent a lot of Ghost-types in most games so you at least just collect them.

Pokemon Go Type Chart: Strengths Effectiveness Weaknesses And Resistances Explained
In Pokemon Go, Every type of Pokemon has four different relationships with other types any trainer should be aware of. That is:
- Strong Against : represented on our type chart as Strong Vs, attacks from the listed type against the type listed here will deal additional damage to your opponent. This is ‘Super Effective’.
- Weak Against : represented here as Weak Vs, attacks from the listed type against these types will do less damage to the enemy. This is ‘Not very effective…’
- Resistance : listed as resist, taking attacks from this type will do much less damage to you.
- Vulnerable : your type’s weaknesses. Attacks of these types will deal more damage – watch out!
So, for instance, Offensively a Ground-type Pokemon/move is Strong against Poison, Rock, Steel, Fire and Electric types, dealing double damage to them. It only does 50% damage against Flying, Bug and Grass Pokemon. Defensively, that same Ground-type Pokemon will take reduced damage from Poison, Rock and Electric Pokemon but also take double damage from Water, Grass and Ice – which is vulnerable to.

Snorlax is a Normal type, so its only weakness is Fighting-type moves . It has a high max CP of 3,690 at level 51 and a great defense, which makes it a good option for defending gyms. Any Pokémon with Fighting-type attacks will have an advantage over Snorlax.

How the Hamas attack on Israel unfolded
JERUSALEM, Oct 7 (Reuters) - A surprise attack by Hamas on Israel, which combined gunmen breaching security barriers with a barrage of rockets fired from Gaza, was launched at dawn on Saturday during the Jewish high holiday of Simchat Torah.
The attack came 50 years and a day after Egyptian and Syrian forces launched an assault during the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur in an effort to retrieve territory Israel had taken during a brief conflict in 1967.
This is how it took place:
COVERING ROCKET BARRAGE
At about 6.30 a.m. (0430 GMT) Palestinian Islamist group Hamas fired a huge barrage of rockets across southern Israel, with sirens heard as far away as Tel Aviv and Beersheba.
Hamas said it had fired 5,000 rockets in a first barrage. Israel's military said 2,500 rockets were fired.
Smoke billowed over residential Israeli areas and people sheltered behind buildings as sirens sounded overhead. At least one woman was reported killed by the rockets.
DAWN INFILTRATION
The barrage served as cover for an unprecedented multi-pronged infiltration of fighters, with the Israeli military saying at 7.40 a.m. (0540 GMT) that Palestinian gunmen had crossed into Israel.
Most fighters crossed through breaches in land security barriers separating Gaza and Israel. But at least one was filmed crossing on a powered parachute while a motorboat was filmed heading to Zikim, an Israeli coastal town and military base.
Videos issued by Hamas showed fighters breaching the security fences, with the dim light and low sun suggesting it was at around the time of the rocket barrage.
One video showed at least six motorbikes with fighters crossing through a hole in a metal security barrier.
A photograph released by Hamas showed a bulldozer tearing down a section of security fence.
FIGHTING AT ISRAELI MILITARY BASES
Israel's military said at 10 a.m. that Palestinian fighters had penetrated at least three military installations around the frontier - the Erez border crossing, the Zikim base and the Gaza division headquarters at Reim. It said fighting at Erez and Zikim continued.
Hamas videos showed fighters running towards a burning building near a high concrete wall with a watchtower and fighters apparently overrunning part of an Israeli military facility and shooting from behind a wall.

Several captured Israeli military vehicles were later pictured being driven into Gaza and paraded there.
BORDER TOWN RAIDS
Fighters raided the Israeli border town of Sderot and were reported to be in another border community, Be'eri, and the town of Ofakim 30km (20 miles) east of Gaza, according to Israeli media citing phone calls from residents.
A video verified by Reuters showed several gunmen riding the back of a white pickup truck moving through Sderot.
Many residents of southern Israeli towns have fortified areas in their homes that function as bomb shelters and on Saturday they were using them as panic rooms.
Israel's military ordered residents to shelter inside, saying on the radio "we will reach you".
By mid morning Israel's police chief Yaacov Shabtai said forces were engaging gunmen in 21 locations and at 1.30 p.m. the military said troops were still working to clear communities that had been overrun by gunmen.
A Reuters photographer saw bodies on the streets of Sderot. Israeli news media have reported at least 100 Israelis killed and 800 wounded.
Hamas videos and unverified images circulating on social media showed dead civilians, Israeli soldiers and Palestinian fighters.
Israel's Foreign Ministry said Hamas gunmen had gone house-to-house killing civilians.
TAKING CAPTIVES
Israeli media has reported that gunmen have seized hostages in Ofakim. Islamic Jihad said it was holding several Israeli soldiers captive and Hamas social media accounts showed footage of appearing to show captives being taken alive into Gaza.
One video showed three young men in vests, shorts and slippers being marched through a security installation with Hebrew writing on the wall. Other videos showed female captives.
Another showed fighters dragging at least two Israeli soldiers from a military vehicle.
ISRAELI STRIKES
At 9.45 a.m. blasts were heard in central Gaza and Gaza city and at 10.00 a.m. Israel's military spokesperson said the airforce was carrying out strikes in Gaza. Medics in Gaza said dozens of people were killed in the strikes.

Ghost Pokémon. It's a bit of a catch-22 when it comes to ghost Pokémon as they're super effective against their own type, but that also makes them incredibly weak to it. Normal type attacks, however, are not as good. No type is weak to them, but Ghost is immune to Normal and Rock and Steel resist it.
