About Ghost Town (Specials song) : The Specials spent three weeks at number one and 10 weeks in total in the top 40 . The song is remembered for being a hit at the same time as riots were occurring in British cities . The group's More Specials album was a fraught experience . Several of the gigs descended into audience violence . Several band members at odds with keyboardist and band leader Jerry Dammers over his decision to incorporate "muzak" keyboard sounds . In an interview in 2011, Dammers explained how witnessing this event inspired his composition: It was released in 1981. The genre is reggae , two-tone. The track was release in 1981. The track has an affiliation to the band(s) - the Specials.
About The Specials : The Special AKA formed in 1977 in Coventry, England . Their music combines a "danceable ska and rocksteady beat with punk's energy and attitude" The Special AKA Live! EP hit No. 1 in the UK Singles Chart in 1980 . The band wore mod-style "1960s period rude boy outfits" Main lead vocalists Hall and Staple, along with guitarist Golding, left to form Fun Boy Three . After seven consecutive UK Top 10 singles between 1979 and 1981, the band dissolved the band . After this, founder and songwriter Jerry Dammers dissolved the group and pursued political activism . The Specials The group has many notable artists like Terry Hall,Neville Staple,Roddy Radiation,Horace Panter,Jerry Dammers,John Bradbury,Dick Cuthell,Rico Rodriguez. Their music is influenced by genres - 2 tone ska reggae punk rock.
