Byredo Mojave Ghost

The nectar-less ghost flower ( mohavea confertiflora ) that grows in the Mojave and Sonoran deserts has ingenious strategies for attracting pollinators: it mimics the appearance of another desert flower with lots of nectar, and the ghost flower's center markings are shaped like a female bee ( Xeralictus) —  here come the male bees to do their work!

It's a difficult assignment for a perfumer to mimic the scent of a wild, desert flower. The desert flowers I've smelled possess a "certain something" I've never encountered in perfumes; they have "clear," fresh and clean aromas, with floral and fruity aspects that are hard to describe, let alone duplicate. I imagine a successful desert flower scent would smell fantastic, but wouldn't last too long on skin. Byredo Mojave Ghost 1 attempts to mimic the scent of an exotic flower's perfume and to attract pollinators (buyers) but it's only partly successful. With Mojave Ghost, Byredo has a great name and imagery to draw upon, but has created an insipid fragrance that's more department store than niche.

Mojave Ghost opens with a rich and warm fruit accord; a combo of mamey and peach. These fruit notes are sweet, and soon more sweetness arrives with the scents of vanilla, and vanillic "chantilly" musk and amber. At times, I get hints of cedar and wood shavings (the sandalwood, perhaps), but never do magnolia or violet materialize, only a character-less, artificial "flower" note. As it dries on skin, Mojave Ghost's fruit notes become overripe, sour (the aroma is like the scent of very tangy peach yogurt); the extreme dry down smells stale. Mojave Ghost has so-so sillage and lasting power and, to my nose, is feminine, not unisex.

ghost flower

If you want to smell a real ghost flower, the blooming season is almost here; those of you in California, Nevada and western Arizona are close to the action. If you've smelled a ghost flower, please share your descriptions of its scent.

Byredo Mojave Ghost is available in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum, $145/$220 ( truly , aspirational pricing!) For buying information, see the listing for Byredo under Perfume Houses .

1. Fragrance notes of: ambrette, mamey sapote, violet, magnolia, sandalwood, chantilly musk, 'crisp' amber, cedarwood.

Too bad. The name alone had me thinking this would be a good one. Unfortunately I’ve never been to the desert in springtime but I would love to see Death Valley in bloom some day.

' src=

I’ve seen Death Valley in bloom. I don’t remember any Ghost Flowers, but it was still beautiful and a great experience. That place is so cool with or without flowers.

' src=

Jonas: I lived in L.A. for almost 15 years and never went to Death Valley either! Next time I’m in So Cal in late winter/early spring, I’m going.

' src=

Anza Borrego State Park in SoCal is amazing when the wildflowers / cacti bloom in spring!

' src=

It is! I’ve gone a couple times. This year should be good since we got a good amount of rain this winter, but don’t think I’ll be able to make it out.

' src=

I haven’t smelled this particular cactus, but the other cactus flowers I’ve smelled were indeed wonderful. I hope you do a field trip and report back, Kevin!

Noz: hope so too!

' src=

I got a sample of this as part of a free gift for the Beauty Event at Neiman Marcus. I was excited to try this since I have never experienced a Byredo fragrance. It must not have been too great, because I can’t remember what it smelled like. It definitely didn’t “wow” me.

scentfromabove: Byredo Pulp remains my favorite from the line…hope they have not fiddled with the formula since it was released. It’s been on my to-buy list for ages. HA!

' src=

Pulp is my favourite too. Got a FB for Christmas and absolutely love it.

' src=

Here in Florida we have some cacti that seem to attch themselves to Palm trunks (or light poles!) and are tall and slender with short unimpressive “stickers.” But at certain times of the year and in the dead of night they explode into blooms that are a gorgeous creamy yellow to incandescent white. They bloom only for about a week or two and they don’t really have any scent that I could discern. The apartment I lived in my youth had them frowing up all the palms on the property- just beautiful!

Too bad the perfume doesn’t measure up to the real thing.

Oh, that would be “growing” not “frowing” – Dang autocorrect!!

Deva…night-blooming cereus? Many of them are very fragrant…and gorgeous!

Holy Cow! You know your cacti young man! I just googled night blooming cereus and that’s it! Don’t remember it having and scent, though I could have completely forgotten by now. I do remember how beautiful those blooms were, and all the more so as they were so short lived.

' src=

Awww, I like this one – I find it a fun warm weather fruity-musky thing. I’m a fairly big Byredo fan, however. I wore my Palermo sample today. I also have Bal d’Afrique hand cream, and Gypsy Water body lotion and fragrance.

Springpansy, Oh, forgot about Bal d’Afrique…like that one.

' src=

You’re right Kevin, Mojave Ghost does have a great name and associated imagery. I’d love a fragrance that could conjure up the feeling of Byredo’s ad.

uday: wish comme des garcons would try its hand at a “desert flower”…could be interesting!

Even better, a desert series…

' src=

I completely missed the fact that the name was referencing a flower! I assumed it was meant to be a haunting, arid perfume; possibly with a comic dimension. In fact – the fact that its a flower is kind of disappointing – but then again, so is the perfume itself 🙂

' src=

This is incredible on my skin! When I tried it first time, I fell in love, this is my scent. I don’t care Byredo created better than this, if you can smell on me, you must say: great 🙂 Wood, woody and wood again with a dry-powderly flowers.

' src=

I really love this perfume. I even had a lady embarrass me by loudly proclaiming I smell amazing and she wanted to stand next to me all day so she could smell me. It is kind of expensive for me though.

Storied Scents: The 11 Best Byredo Perfumes

Recreating the mystique of reality.

by Emma Treagus Updated on December 6, 2023

At Luxe Digital, we independently research, review, and recommend products we love and that we think you will love, too. Learn more about how we curate the best products for you .

There’s something about particular scents that you just want to own. That you need to make yours. Because for many of us, fragrance is not just a part of our daily routine; it’s a personal signature, a form of self-expression that speaks without words.

In my personal journey with different perfumes and brands, I often like to mix it up, steering clear of the cliches that waft about every woman at the dinner party. I’ve wanted a perfume that if someone had to smell it—or something similar—out of context, they would immediately think of me. Perhaps, it’s a silly romanticized ideology, but it’s something I’ve held onto.

That being said, I’ve always been open to new brands and brands that push the boundaries in their fragrant concoctions. Over the years, Byredo has stood out as a storyteller and as a brand that I’ve developed a personal relationship with.

Founded by Ben Gorham, Byredo’s philosophy centers around translating memories and emotions into wearable art. The brand’s gender-neutral fragrances marry traditional ingredients with innovative notes, addressing individualities rather than societal expectations and conventions. Whether it’s the mystique of a nomadic lifestyle, the whimsy of old books or the warmth of African culture, Byredo has a way of capturing moments in glass bottles.

In this article, we’ll traverse through the luxury landscape of the best Byredo perfumes, exploring the nostalgia behind each scent and helping you find the fragrance that resonates with your individual story.

Pssst…if you’re also looking for a unique home fragrance, Byredo candles are some of our best scented candles , creating intimate spaces for deep relationships and reflection.

Why you can trust Luxe Digital? As luxury enthusiasts and highly discerning individuals, we’re obsessed with unearthing new brands that tell a unique story, while meeting our unwavering standards for quality and craftsmanship.

As one of our best perfume brands, Byredo is a personal favorite amongst our editors. We tried them all with a real commitment to understanding the story and nostalgia behind each scent before picking our top selection. And while we know that fragrances are subjective, we sought feedback from different individuals in order to determine which Byredo perfumes were most popular overall.

The 11 best Byredo perfumes

Bal d’afrique.

best byredo perfume bal d afrique review - Luxe Digital

Byredo’s Bal d’Afrique is a tribute to African culture, inspired by founder Ben Gorham’s own travels around the sun-drenched continent. It opens with a vibrant burst of African marigold, buchu and bergamot, dancing with a warm base of Moroccan cedarwood and vetiver.

Evoking the nostalgia of spirited celebrations, the gender-neutral fragrance is one of our best women’s perfumes and arguably the best Byredo scent. Bal d’Afrique whispers tales of distant lands and dreams, capturing the warmth, art and boundless energy of Africa.

Mojave Ghost

best byredo perfume mojave ghost review - Luxe Digital

Named after the Mojave Desert, a vast landscape in the rain shadow of the Nevada mountains and Transverse Ranges, Mojave Ghost by Byredo is both ethereal and realistic. Reminiscent of a mirage in the isolated desert, the hauntingly beautiful scent captures the essence of natural dichotomies.

Mojave Ghost Byredo perfume starts with a delicate, almost supernatural whisper of ambrette and nesberry, echoing the elusive allure of the Mojave Desert. While hints of magnolia, sandalwood and violet are a nod to the life that thrives in arid solitude.

Gypsy Water

best byredo perfume gypsy water review - Luxe Digital

Gypsy Water by Byredo is a nomadic melody, an ode to the free spirit and mystique of the Romani culture. It begins with a fresh, invigorating burst of bergamot, lemon, pepper, and juniper berries – like the first light of dawn over a hidden forest glade.

Giving way to a heart of incense and pine needles, the vibrant bouquet evokes images of ancient dances around crackling campfires under starlit skies. While comforting base notes of amber and vanilla round off the evening under warm blankets and whispered tales of far-off lands.

Rose of No Man’s Land

best byredo perfume rose of no man s land review - Luxe Digital

Byredo Rose of No Man’s Land is a poignant homage to bravery and hope. The ode opens with a tender touch of pink pepper and Turkish rose petals, akin to a gentle dawn breaking over a solemn battlefield. The delicate introduction blooms into the resilient beauty that is raspberry blossom, representing grace amidst turmoil.

Rose of No Man’s Land finds peace in a base of papyrus and amber, much like a soothing embrace in the quiet after a storm. This scent is a tribute to the nurses of war, intertwining strength and softness, reflective of roses blooming in adversity.

best byredo perfume blanche eau de parfum review - Luxe Digital

Byredo Blanche is a serene, pure expression, like a blank canvas or freshly fallen snow.

It whispers with subtle notes of white rose and pink pepper, delicate and crisp, like the first light of dawn casting a pale hue over tranquil landscapes. In quiet splendor, the scent blooms into a heart of soft blooms, such as peony and violet, before settling into a base of blonde woods and musks.

Blanche is a scent that captures the essence of simplicity and purity, a clean and unadorned ode to tranquility.

Mixed Emotions

best byredo perfume mixed emotions eau de parfum review - Luxe Digital

Aptly named, Mixed Emotions is a complex scent, mirroring the tumultuous journey of human emotions.

Embodying the contrasting facets of our feelings, it starts with an arresting clash of sweet blackcurrant and sharp maté. Hints of ceylon black tea and violet leaves mimic a reflective pause in a restless mind. While a conclusion of birch wood and papyrus is suggestive of the grounding strength and resilience discovered in moments of introspection.

Mixed Emotions is a fragrant embodiment of life’s ups and downs, a sophisticated interplay of light and shadow.

Bibliothèque

best byredo perfume bibliotheque eau de parfum review - Luxe Digital

As one of our best men’s colognes , the genderless fragrance captures the soul of a grand library. A nostalgic journey through time-worn pages and whispered tales, Bibliothèque is a tribute to the enduring romance of classical literature.

Beginning its story with cinnamon and plum, the fragrant novel is sweet and inviting, much like the allure of a well-loved book . The comforting prelude develops into a battle of leather accord and violet, before concluding with a patchouli-rich, vanilla-infused ending.

best byredo perfume la tulipe eau de parfum review - Luxe Digital

Byredo La Tulipe is a vibrant, floral tribute to the first days of spring. It begins with a crisp, refreshing opening of rhubarb, cyclamen, and freesia – like a dew-kissed garden at dawn.

Swiftly blooming into the scent of tulips, the fragrance addresses the fleeting nature of seasons, while blonde woods and vetiver ground the bouquet in an earthy embrace.

La Tulipe is a celebration of renewal and nature’s awakening, reminding us to be present and appreciate small joys in life before they pass.

best byredo perfume sundazed eau de parfum review - Luxe Digital

Byredo Sundazed is a radiant, euphoric fragrance. It’s a blissful summer day encapsulated in a glass bottle.

Reminiscent of warm rays kissing your skin, the sun dance opens with a dazzling burst of mandarin and Californian lemon. Interrupted by neroli and Arabian jasmine, the heart of the fragrance is an aromatic manifestation of a cool, gentle breeze on a hot day. While a comforting musk base is nostalgic of carefree days and childlike laughter.

best byredo perfume slow dance eau de parfum review - Luxe Digital

Sensual and tender, Byredo Slow Dance is an intimate moment shared between two in twilight’s embrace. Setting the scene of dimly lit rooms and close encounters, the sultry scent takes the floor with opening notes of opoponax.

The intoxicating introduction evolves into whispered confessions and lingering glances, as geranium, labdanum and violet make their move. And like the lasting echo of a song long ended, the fragrance finds its finale in a soothing base of vanilla and patchouli.

Vanille Antique

best byredo perfume vanille antique night veils perfume extract review - Luxe Digital

Byredo Vanille Antique is a luxurious, deep fragrance, evoking the richness of history melded with modern elegance. It seduces with a sultry allure of freesia and plum, wrapped in amber and cashmere woods.

Reminiscent of ancient treasures and uncovered secrets, the opulent fragrance lingers for hours, recounting the hush-hush glamor of Old-School Hollywood. Settling into a decadent base of Madagascar vanilla beans and cistus oil, Vanille Antique finds its rest in sweet moments and everlasting memories.

Byredo pronunciation

Byredo is pronounced as “bye-RED-oh.” The emphasis is on the second syllable, with a slightly elongated ‘e’ sound, blending a contemporary flair with its Swedish origins.

Byredo meaning

Byredo derives from “By Redolence,” suggesting the power of fragrance to evoke memories and emotions. It reflects the brand’s focus on creating scents that resonate on a deeply personal level.

8 Perfumes that Smell Similar to Mojave Ghost

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. This means that if you click on an Amazon affiliate link on my pages, I receive a commission based on that qualified purchase. It doesn't cost you any more money and it helps keep the site running.

Mojave Ghost is an extremely popular option from Byredo and one that has a rather unique aroma versus much of what is offered up today. The downside for many, is the price of the Byredo scent. For others, they want something that smells similar or at least in the same ballpark, while still being different from Ghost. On this page, I will keep updated with a list of potential alternative options to this perfume.

What Fragrances Smell Similar to Byredo Mojave Ghost?

Mojave Sand by The Dua Brand – So, Mojave Sand is Dua’s ‘inspired’ version of the Mojave Ghost formula.

Now, I can’t personally speak to whether or not that they accomplished in matching the right scent to be a great alternative to the Byredo, since I haven’t tried this one out. However, I have tried plenty of other perfumes from this brand and they usually get it pretty darn close. The reviews are also positive, in this regard.

If you want a cheaper alternative to Ghost, this is one that you should consider.

Desert Glass by Oakcha – Here’s another ‘inspired’ option that I’ve found of Ghost. Between this and the Dua perfume above, those who want a very close aroma to the Byredo, seem to have things covered.

I don’t have any experience with this brand’s fragrances, as of yet. So, I can’t vouch for their quality. But, they’ve got a ton of positive reviews, and Mojave Ghost’s scent isn’t overly difficult to get close to.

They have two sizes available, currently starting at $30 (as of writing). Not too much risk in giving Desert Glass a try.

Guess 1981 – Guess 1981 does present you with another cheaper option, but this one isn’t as on target as the Dua in terms of trying to smell like Mojave.

Though, this one has plenty of overlap. The sapodilla isn’t here in the Guess, nor is the magnolia. In 1981, you get a nice sparkling pear note to start things off and a greater use of the violet note throughout.

Less greenish floral, this one also strikes me as more powdery. Muskier than the Byredo, while still utilizing that musk mallow note found in Mojave. The wood isn’t much of a factor with Guess. It supposedly has cedar too, just not really getting much, if any.

Still, this is a really solid cheapie, giving you much of what you get with Mojave Ghost…just taken to a somewhat different end point.

what does byredo mojave ghost smell like

Eclat de Fleurs by Lanvin – This one is closer to Chanel Eau Tendre (listed below), so don’t expect a massive overlap with Ghost.

Eclat de Fleurs moves away from the muskiness and woodiness, giving you instead a more floral clean representation. Plus, you get another use of pear, as in the Guess scent listed above.

More of a light floral with elements of soapiness thanks to the jasmine and limited musk. But, the freesia note really leads the way in this Lanvin perfume. Fruity floral to start, more floral musky in the end.

I’d say that this is connected distantly to Ghost. Like on a chain between the three perfumes it would go: Ghost-Eau Tendre-Eclat.

Santal Glow by Zara – Santal Glow is now discontinued. At least for now, since I cannot find a bottle on Zara’s website anymore.

Yet, this deserves a spot on the list, as it is another one that gets very close to what we want. It’s not exact, but a strong sandalwood and heavier use of a powdery violet note. Soft, comforting, and clean.

The sapodilla isn’t there, so don’t expect the fruity touch or much of any sweetness. As the name suggests, sandalwood is a major player here. Actually, it’s more about the violet note in terms of weighting, and there isn’t any cedar.

If you can find a cheap bottle, it’s worth picking up. I wouldn’t overpay, otherwise. Just get the Dua or Mojave itself.

Nirvana French Grey – Nirvana French Grey is definitely not a 1 to 1 match with Mojave Ghost. But, there are similar elements here that make it worthwhile to check out, as sort of a ‘distant cousin’ to our target.

This has a sweetness, muskiness, and citrus elements to it that overlap with the Byredo…just in a more heavily weighted version. French Grey is a simple mix of neroli, lavender, and musk. It’s simple and stripped down.

French Grey is a different floral blend, producing a soapy and somewhat reminiscent result to the Byredo. Again, not the one that you want if you want an ‘inspired version’ of Mojave, but a very likeable perfume that should bring one plenty of joy to wear.

what does byredo mojave ghost smell like

Chance Eau Tendre – The Eau Tendre fragrances aren’t exactly like our target, but share plenty of style. The base of cedar and amber is the same, the floral composition features different notes, and the Chanel is less woody.

That being said, if you want something along the same lines arranged differently Eau Tendre can be a great option. I actually like the EDT better , as a fresher more citrus heavy composition.

Though, either the EDP or EDT is an easy to wear and versatile perfume for those who enjoy what the Byredo scent has to offer.

what does byredo mojave ghost smell like

Memoire d’une Odeur by Gucci – This is another one that I feel is pretty similar in style, but not particularly in how it smells. Both are unique and this one has a lighter feel to it.

Memoire and Mojave Ghost are both clean-ish, soapy, woody, musky, floral fragrances. They just approach things from different angles. With this Gucci fragrance, you get a greener and a slightly bitter aroma up top. Bitter almond mixed with a chamomile note, that can give Memoire a tea-like aroma.

It settles into something with more musk and jasmine. Along with, cedar and sandalwood in the base which matches up with the Byredo fragrance. Again, if you’re looking for something that’s a dead ringer for Mojave, this won’t be it. But, I do think if you enjoy one, there’s a good chance that you’ll like the other.

While perfume has a special part in every beauty enthusiast’s life, it becomes quite tricky to choose one! Fret not, as I'm here to help–

How to Select the Best Byredo Perfume?

Below are the parameters to consider:

1. Gender: Well, most of the Byredo perfumes are unisex. However, if you want to invest in a women’s or men’s perfume particularly, check the label and go for it accordingly. If you are looking for some of the best Byredo perfumes for her which are giftable and come with classy packaging, the Flowerhead EDP is what you should get.

2. Fragrance Notes: It depends on the personal preference. While there are plenty of sweet, spicy, or floral range of scents available from the brand, you have to choose yours after carefully going through the description. If you want a floral base, the Byredo Flowerhead EDP is an excellent choice. For a spicy and woody lover, the Byredo Eleventh Hour EDP Spray is the one. On the other hand, the Byredo Rose of No Man's Land EDP is the one for people who love floral and fruity notes altogether.

3. Bottle Size: The best thing I like about Byredo perfumes is that they are available in travel-friendly sizes as well for you to pick and test before you finally invest in the ‘one’. Or, you have the liberty to pick the full size!

Now that you have checked the products and the buying guide, take a look at how you can use Byredo perfume to make the most out of it.

How to Use a Byredo Perfume?

Below are the steps:

Step 1: Always start with a clean and fresh self right after a shower.

Step 2: Pat your skin dry, because perfumes work well on dry and warm skin.

Step 3: Next, you can apply an unscented body lotion to make sure that the perfume stays.

Step 4: Spray your perfumes on your pulse points, neck, inner elbows, below ears, belly buttons, and inside your knee.

Step 5: In this step, you can spray your hair brush and comb through it so that your hair also smells nice.

Step 6: Always remember to put on your jewelry after spraying perfume to keep the quality of your accessories intact.

That's it! Here, I'm wrapping up the recommendations and buying guide of the best Byredo perfumes to help you select the right one for your beauty shelf! As per my expertise, I can safely say that it is not the fragrance always, but the body temperature, odor, climate, and your unique body chemistry play a huge role in how the scent will be perceived. However, if you are wondering which one to grab, let me help you with this! If you are looking for a travel-friendly perfume, the Byredo Gypsy Water Eau de Parfum Spray is what you should grab! The Byredo Blanche Hair Perfume Spray is one cruelty-free perfume if you are a mindful beauty lover! Lastly, the Byredo 1996 Inez and Vinoodh Unisex EDP is one good perfume, if you have sensitive skin! Happy shopping!

15 Best Byredo Fragrances For Women – Top Picks Reviewed

what does byredo mojave ghost smell like

The house of Byredo is a well-known and popular niche fragrance house. They are known for their thought-provoking fragrances that are stunning and inoffensive making them a great choice for all manner of occasions. The question is, which are the best for women?

The House Of Byredo And Its Fragrances

Byredo is a Swedish fragrance house created in 2006 in Stockholm and was founded by Ben Gorham. They produce perfumes, fragrances for the home, as well as body care products; all of which are stunning. Ben Gorham is a former basketball player and has been obsessed with scents since his teenage years; he’s particularly interested in the memories and emotions associated with perfumes.

Byredo produces predominantly unisex fragrances but has launched several that are distinctly classified as male or female. Each fragrance has a story behind it, which is just one of the reasons why I love this brand! Gorham uses places he’s visited and childhood memories as well as feelings to mold and inspire his fragrances. His innovative thinking and outstanding creativity help him tell his story in a unique and beautiful way.

The compositions are simple and the fragrance notes never clash making them versatile and easy to wear. As this is a niche fragrance house, you will need to hunt around to find their products in shops; generally, they can be found in exclusive boutiques and department stores worldwide.

In this article, we’ll discuss some of the best Byredo perfumes for women, in no particular order!

1. Mojave Ghost

Byredo released this amber floral fragrance in 2014; it has strong woody nuances and uses gorgeous and fairly uncommon fragrance notes.  It’s simple, elegant, and gorgeous and is definitely a must-try for anyone looking for something special.

  • Top Notes: Sapodilla and Ambrette (Musk Mallow).
  • Middle Notes: Magnolia, Violet and Sandalwood.
  • Base Notes: Ambergris and Cedar.

What Does Byredo Mojave Ghost Smell Like?

Mojave Ghost opens with powerful florals that have green, woody, and fruity undertones. The musk is light and clean giving this a very natural feel, which only deepens as the perfume develops. An overall fresh opening that perfectly sets the tone for what’s to come.

As it progresses, more florals become noticeable, however, these add more sweetness than the opening notes. They also have powdery, green, and woody undertones; all highlighting the naturalness of this fragrance. Sandalwood is blended in with the florals working to intensify the freshness with its soft, warm, and woody scent. It also highlights the woody undertones of the florals and has gorgeous green facets that linger into the dry down.

The dry down combines intense woods with a light musk, which has intensified since the opening. The base notes provide rich undertones, however, the musk prevents them from darkening this uplifting and light fragrance. This leaves you with an overall fresh perfume that still has body to it.

Mojave Ghost is light and playful making this the perfect scent for a day in the office or a casual day out; it will give you a real lift in the spring and summer. One thing I love about this fragrance is how certain notes bring out the undertones of others so you can fully experience all the nuances and facets of each ingredient.

  • Best seasons to wear:   Spring and Summer
  • Occasions:   Casual
  • Time of day:   Daytime
  • Longevity: 5-6 Hours
  • Projection:   Moderate
  • Price Range ($-$$$):   $$$

2. Bal d’Afrique

what does byredo mojave ghost smell like

This is one of Byredo’s most interesting fragrances; its inspiration comes from 1920’s Paris and its fascination with African culture, art, and music. Made by Jerome Epinette, this perfume has a fun and out-going scent that never fails to put a smile on your face.

  • Top Notes: Amalfi Lemon, Tagetes, Blackcurrant, Bergamot and African Orange Flower.
  • Middle Notes: Violet, Cyclamen and Jasmine.
  • Base Notes: Vetiver, Amber, Musk and Virginia Cedar.

What Does Byredo Bal d’Afrique Smell Like?

The opening consists of an intoxicating blend of citrus notes combined with the tangy yet fruity blackcurrant. The tagetes (also known as Marigold) begin to reveal the African influence with this aromatic and spicy herbal note. The African orange flower is a sweet white floral; it softens the tangy sourness from the other notes and sets the stage for the progression of the fragrance.

You will be dazzled by the array of floral notes lying in the heart of the fragrance; they’re sweet and fresh and radiate elegance and femininity. The florals have powdery, rosy, and soapy nuances contributing to the freshness and supporting the African orange flower from the opening. The base notes are rich and intensely woody and earthy, providing a stunning contrast to the light florals. There are also musty and green nuances running throughout the dry down, which is warmed and sweetened by the amber. The musk is clean and fresh and keeps the perfume light, preventing the base notes from darkening the fragrance too much. Overall, this is a deliciously fresh and vibrant scent perfect for the spring and summer; due to the rich base notes, you can get away with wearing it on warmer days in fall too. The contrast between the light and dark notes is stunning and creates a fun and playful scent that almost smells like a golden sunset.

  • Best seasons to wear:   Spring and Summer and Fall
  • Longevity: 6-7 Hours

3. Rose Noir

Rose Noir is a delicate balance of light floral notes with rich, musty oakmoss creating a sensual and stunning perfume. This is a fragrance you will absolutely never forget!

  • Top Notes: Grapefruit and Freesia.
  • Middle Notes: Damask Rose.
  • Base Notes: Oakmoss, Labdanum and Musk.

What Does Byredo Rose Noir Smell Like?

The grapefruit hits you instantly as it’s aromatically citrusy and has bitter and fruity undertones. It can be overwhelming; however, paired with freesia, it’s immediately softened, ensuring this is delicate and inoffensive right from the get-go. There are fresh spices and powdery nuances also running through the opening creating a complexly beautiful aroma.

The dominating scent lies in the heart as the namesake note comes out in full force providing an intensely fresh, clean and soapy scent. Rose is romantic and feminine and has an array of nuances, including powder, woods and fruits. It works with the freesia to soften the grapefruit.

The dry down sees the introduction of darker, richer notes, including the oakmoss, which is thick, mossy, and has a bitter earthiness to it. This is combined with deep and powerful leather and amber nuances in addition to the musk. The base notes darken the fragrance making it seductive and intoxicating but don’t detract from the light femininity. Byredo perfectly blends these contrasting notes to symbolize the change in seasons.

This is a fun and playful yet sexy and evocative perfume, making it perfect for casual wear as well as dressier evening occasions. It’s best worn in the transitional seasons of spring and fall, as this scent is neither warm and dark, nor fresh. It sits right in the middle, just like these two seasons.

  • Best seasons to wear:   Spring and Fall
  • Occasions:   Casual and Formal
  • Time of day:   Daytime and Evening
  • Longevity: 7-8 Hours

This is an intensely fresh floral aldehyde fragrance for women released in 2009. It’s airy, simple and incorporates white, clean scents as Gorham was inspired by the idea of innocence. It’s a fantastic addition to any collection.

  • Top Notes: Aldehydes, Rose and Pink Pepper.
  • Middle Notes: Peony, Violet and African Orange Flower.
  • Base Notes: Musk, Woody Notes and Sandalwood.

What Does Byredo Blanche Smell Like?

Blanche opens with aldehyde notes combined with rose, which has strong soapy and clean nuances; the opening is reminiscent of fresh laundry hanging out to dry. There are woody and fruity nuances running throughout the opening, as well as the rosy fresh spice from the pink pepper.

The heart includes a bouquet of gorgeous floral notes that are freshly sweet with powdery undertones. There’s a combination of white and pink florals giving us a range of nuances that are carried throughout. The powdery notes, in combination with the aldehydes, really ensure that this fragrance lives up to its name. The base sees a collection of woody notes, including the warm and rich sandalwood, which has a delicate underlying sweetness. The woods are entangled with the powdery clean scent of musk, which is intensified throughout the dry down. Although the base notes are deep and aromatic, we don’t lose any of the lightness or femininity from the previous notes ensuring the florals remain prominent throughout the dry down. This is perfect to wear in the spring and summer during the day for more casual occasions. Being easy to wear and gentle, this is such a great addition to any perfume collection. It would even be a great signature perfume, one that you can always wear, no matter where you’re going.

5. Gypsy Water

what does byredo mojave ghost smell like

This woody aromatic fragrance was released in 2008 and was instantly loved. It combines sour citruses, woods, spices, and oriental base notes to create a unique and complexly gorgeous fragrance.

  • Top Notes: Juniper, Lemon, Bergamot and Pepper.
  • Middle Notes: Pine Needles, Incense and Orris Root.
  • Base Notes: Sandalwood, Vanilla and Amber.

What Does Byredo Gypsy Water Smell Like?

The opening consists of sour and aromatically fresh citrus notes intertwined with the fresh balsamic juniper. The juniper and warm spices help to soften the citrus and intensify the fruitiness of the notes. The opening has a rich smokiness from the spices making it intensely aromatic, which sets the stage for the rest of the perfume.

The pine tree in the heart picks up from the juniper and carries this fresh piney and spicy scent throughout the fragrance. The orris root is a gorgeous addition here as it’s an earthy floral note with powdery and woody nuances; it has a similar feel to iris. Just to add to this already aromatic aroma, we can see the introduction of the incense, which is thick and smoky, and absolutely stunning. It gives the perfume a dash of mystery and passion.

The oriental base notes are sweet and warm and have a comforting and cozy feel to them. The soft woodiness and sweetness calm the intense middle notes and warm the fragrance through. These delicate base notes ensure a sweet and calming dry down and rounds off the scent perfectly. This is an absolutely stunning perfume that has an amazing development. This is one of Byredo’s more versatile fragrances; it can be worn almost all year round; however, it does lack the richness needed for the winter months. Throughout the year, though, it’s best worn in a more casual setting.

  • Best seasons to wear:   Spring, Summer and Fall
  • Projection:   Soft

6. La Tulipe

This is a gorgeously green, floral fragrance for women launched in 2010, made by two perfumers; Ben Gorham and Jerome Epinette. This perfume was created with the tulip flower in mind; it’s the first flower to bloom in spring and Byredo captures all aspects of the tulip in this stunning scent.

  • Top Notes: Freesia, Cyclamen and Rhubarb.
  • Middle Notes: Pink Tulip.
  • Base Notes: Green Notes, Vetiver and Woody Notes.

What Does Byredo La Tulipe Smell Like?

The opening consists of a contrast between light floral notes and rhubarb. Freesia and cyclamen are sweet, feminine notes with rosy and soapy nuances whereas the rhubarb is bitter-sweet, green, and spicy. This creates a contrasting, but primarily fresh opening. In the heart lies the pink tulip, which is the namesake ingredient; it’s intensely floral with green nuances. This ties the contrasting opening notes together so we’re left with a powerful floral scent with various nuances and a complex makeup. It also has such a natural scent, it’s gorgeous!

The base is comprised of powerfully green notes mixed with the musty and earthy vetiver along with other strong woody notes. This rich base enhances the natural scent of this fragrance and provides a lovely contrast to the earlier floral notes. This scent was made for those warm spring days and is best worn during the day for casual occasions. Byredo’s mission was to re-create the scent of spring through the tulip flower and they succeeded; even the structure of the ingredients looks like a tulip. The florals are at the top, the green notes in the middle carrying down to the earthy base; this is a great example of Ben Gorham’s outstanding creativity.

  • Best seasons to wear:   Spring

7. Seven Veils

Seven Veils strays away from Byredo’s standard summer fragrances and includes unusual notes to create a rich, spicy scent better suited to colder months. Launched in 2011, Seven Veils is one of the lesser-known Byredo fragrances, but it’s definitely deserving of a spot on this list.

  • Top Notes: Carrot and Pink Pepper.
  • Middle Notes: Orchid, Wisteria and Rose.
  • Base Notes: Sandalwood and Vanilla.

What Does Byredo Seven Veils Smell Like?

This perfume opens with carrot – not a particularly common fragrance note. However, despite what you may think of the vegetable, this has such a gorgeous scent. It’s powdery and earthy with an aromatic herbal edge and subtle fruity nuances; this warm, rich note is paired with fresh spice creating a textured opening that is bursting with character.

The florals linger in the heart of the fragrance; there is a beautiful combination of soapy, fresh floral scents. The wisteria is particularly lovely as it has a hint of spice and earthiness with lilac and clove nuances. The powdery scent from the opening is also still going strong, creating an overall soft, clean, and smooth scent that feels dark, but also balanced.

The dry down includes sandalwood and vanilla, which are woody, warm, and sweet notes, giving the fragrance the warmth and richness to be suitable for colder months. The base notes have an almost oriental and amber-like feel to them, which is a lovely contrast to the rest of the perfume.

Overall, this is absolutely stunning; it’s incredibly long-lasting and this combination of uncommon notes is absolutely breathtaking. This can be worn during the day or evening, for any occasion during the cool fall and cold winter months. It’s elegant and mature yet fun and diverse; it’s truly fantastic.

  • Best seasons to wear: Winter and Fall
  • Projection:   Strong

8. Flowerhead

what does byredo mojave ghost smell like

Byredo has once again created a gorgeously simple and delightful fragrance that will stun you with its gorgeous florals, fruits, and green notes. It’s a signature spring and summer scent and works well with any perfume collection. Released in 2014, Flowerhead has always been a staple in the Byredo perfume range.

  • Top Notes: Angelica, Cranberry and Lemon.
  • Middle notes: Jasmine Sambac, Tuberose, Green Notes and Rose Petals.
  • Base Notes: Ambergris and Suede.

What Does Byredo Flowerhead Smell Like?

Flowerhead has an unusual yet intoxicating opening; the tanginess of the cranberry is combined with the sourness of the citruses to create a powerful first impression. These notes also have gorgeous fruity and fresh undertones, which are combined with the angelica; this has a woody and musty scent. This contrast between fruits, florals, and woods feels like an entire fragrance just in the opening!

As the fragrance develops, the powerful opening is soon softened by the intensely white florals, which soon become the most prominent scent. They have gorgeous green nuances as well, which are accentuated by the other green notes. Additionally, there is also a subtle hint of soapy rose petals hovering gently in the background.

There are very few base notes and they lack the richness we’re used to in Byredo’s dry downs. The suede is soft and musty with gentle woody undertones, which is combined with the signature musk making this feel like a staple Byredo fragrance. The dry down is delicate and keeps the perfume light and airy.

Overall, this is simple yet very pleasing. Although it’s light and easy to wear, it lasts much longer than you might think; it will see you through a whole day at work and you’ll still get whiffs in the evening. This is best worn in the spring and summer and for casual occasions during the day.

  • Longevity: 8-9 Hours

9. Slow Dance

Slow Dance is a creation by Jerome Epinette that was released in 2019. This perfume is aptly named and has a wonderfully warm scent that almost feels like a warm and embracing hug.

  • Top Notes: Opoponax and Cognac.
  • Middle Notes: Labdanum, Violet, and Geranium.
  • Base Notes: Vanilla, Patchouli, and Incense.

What Does Byredo Slow Dance Smell Like?

Slow Dance opens with a sweet and resinous scent of opoponax. Added to the opoponax is a touch of cognac, a warm and boozy note that adds a lot of depth to the perfume. Together, they make up for the majority of the opening, immediately setting the tone for the remainder of the fragrance; a warm and cozy one.

Not long after the opening, we can start to pick up a few floral notes. Hints of powdery violet and aromatic and spicy geranium are present, balancing out the initial sweetness without overtaking it. This makes for a rather interesting mix of warm and fresher notes, but ultimately, the warmer notes reign supreme.

As the fragrance starts to dry down, the notes of vanilla and patchouli reveal themselves. These two notes add a warm, sweet, and dark scent to the mix that gives the perfume an intimate and seductive edge. There’s also the thick and smoky note of incense, which mainly adds some depth to the perfume. An actual smoky scent isn’t really present.

With such a focus on the warmer notes, this perfume is perfect for a cold fall or winter day. As mentioned before, this perfume almost feels like a warm hug, so you can see why this one is so great for the colder months. During these months, this perfume is great for casual day or nighttime wear, but it will also do a great job when worn formally. And thanks to the romantic edge, it’s absolutely perfect for a date or night out!

  • Best seasons to wear:   Fall and Winter
  • Occasions:   Formal and Casual
  • Time of day:   Daytime and Nighttime
  • Longevity: 8+ Hours

10. Bibliotheque

Byredo’s Bibliotheque is a powdery and fruity floral perfume with beautiful undertones of leather. This is an atmospheric perfume that smells absolutely amazing. Released in 2017, Bibliotheque quickly became a talking point of the brand.

  • Top Notes: Plum and Peach.
  • Middle Notes: Violet and Peony.
  • Base Notes: Leather, Vanilla, Patchouli, and Musk.

What Does Byredo Bibliotheque Smell Like?

Bibliotheque opens with a sweet and fruity scent of peach and plum. The peach is fresh and juicy and the plum is a little darker and richer, immediately creating an atmospheric and musty scent. Quickly added to these fruity notes are the floral notes of violet and peony, two refreshing floral notes that balance out the initial richness and sweetness.

The florals, however, stay relatively subtle and never really push themselves to the forefront. They do add a powdery undertone to the mix, but the dark scent of plum, which almost appears a little boozy, and the juicy scent of peach are still at the forefront. They are supported by a rich scent of sweet and spicy patchouli, giving the perfume a much darker feel.

In the dry down, the note of leather starts to show itself, coming across as powerful, smooth, and inoffensive. The leather once again adds to the immersive feeling of this perfume, making it a little richer without making it overpowering. Overall, Bibliotheque is an amazing perfume that smells sweet and fruity but is backed by rich and warm notes.

Despite the fruity and floral influences, this is most definitely a cold-weather fragrance. It’s perfect for the winter and fall, but will also do a great job in early spring. During these seasons, this perfume is perfect for a casual day or night out, but it will also be great for the office or any other formal setting. The immersive scent feels easy-going and relaxed, but at the same time, it also feels elegant and sophisticated.

  • Best seasons to wear:   Fall, Winter, and Spring

what does byredo mojave ghost smell like

This is a very different Byredo fragrance than we have had so far; if you’re a fan of sweet, fruity fragrances then this one is, hands down, the one for you. Launched in 2008, Byredo’s Pulp has always been a talking point of the brand.

  • Top Notes: Blackcurrant, Bergamot and Cardamom.
  • Middle Notes: Fig, Red Apple and Tiare Flower.
  • Base Notes: Praline, Peach Blossom and Cedar.

What Does Byredo Pulp Smell Like?

Byredo’s Pulp has the most gorgeous fruity opening; the blackcurrant is a tangy yet fruity note with green and minty undertones. This is combined with sour citrus with a hint of fresh spice, which pairs wonderfully with the aromatic and warm spicy cardamom. The spices easily soften the tanginess of the other notes; it does, however, leave a bitter aftertaste but the middle notes take care of that!

The heart is where we begin to experience the true sweetness of this fragrance; it begins with the fig, which has a honey-like fruitiness. The fruits also have green and rosy undertones, which is contrasted against the intense white florals. The Tiare flower is fruity and slightly creamy adding to the overall sweetness of this perfume.

The praline in the base is by far the sweetest note; it’s a gourmand, vanilla-like note with nutty nuances. It intensifies the sweetness of all other ingredients and provides a sensual and delectable richness that is simply superb. Some perfumes can become too sickly-sweet, which is why Byredo included the fruity florals and cedar as it provides an intensely woody and earthy contrast.

Overall, this is another fresh and fun fragrance made for the spring and summer. It feels elegant and sophisticated and lacks the sickly sweetness that puts people off fruity perfumes. It’s stunning and is the perfect accompaniment on a day to the office or a day out in the sunshine. Do keep in mind that this perfume is on the stronger side, so when you’re in a confined place, use fewer sprays!

  • Best seasons to wear: Spring and Summer

12. Rose Of No Man’s Land

Another rose-based fragrance from the house of Byredo, Rose Of No Man’s Land takes a much fresher direction. Released in 2015, this is a wonderfully fresh and flowery perfume with a natural-smelling scent that will always have an uplifting effect.

  • Top Notes: Turkish Red Rose and Pink Pepper.
  • Middle Notes: Turkish Red Rose and Raspberry Bloom.
  • Base Notes: Papyrus and Amber.

What Does Byredo Rose Of No Man’s Land Smell Like?

Rose Of No Man’s Land opens with a natural and fresh-smelling scent of rose. There really isn’t much more to it in the opening minutes; just the most beautiful scent of freshly cut roses. After a few minutes, though, there’s a sweet addition of pink pepper, perfectly complementing the rose without overtaking it.

As the fragrance progresses, the note of rose will always stand out. This really is the main focus, and unlike most perfumes that are build up around one primary note, Rose Of No Man’s Land almost exclusively focuses on the rose. There is none of the typical sweetness or powdery scents that are so common nowadays. This is just a pure and natural rose perfume.

In the dry down, there are a few hints of warm amber and woods, but these mainly serve as a rich base for the rose to thrive on. Rose Of No Man’s Land is a stunning perfume that radiates femininity, class, and elegance. This is one of those fragrances that will always put a smile on your face, lifting you up and make you feel like your best self.

With such a focus on a flowery note such as rose, it should come as no surprise that this is a warm-weather fragrance. However, despite the natural and fresh scent, this perfume will also do a great job during the fall as well. During these months, there’s just no going wrong with this perfume. It’s luxurious, classy, and formal, yet easy-going at the same time. This could easily be a signature scent for any woman.

  • Best seasons to wear:   Spring, Summer, and Fall
  • Longevity: 6-8 Hours

13. Oud Immortel

Byredo usually makes lighter and fresher fragrances. However, with Oud Immortel, they took one of the boldest and strongest notes and gave it their Byredo twist, creating a warm and rich perfume. This fragrance was released in 2010 and is a little different from the typical Byredo creations.

  • Top Notes: Limoncello, Incense, and Cardamom.
  • Middle Notes: Oud, Patchouli, Papyrus, and Rosewood.
  • Base Notes: Oakmoss and Tobacco.

What Does Byredo Oud Immortel Smell Like?

Oud Immortel opens with a unique scent that almost smells a little citrusy. Added to the citrusy scent is a smoky undertone of incense and a fresh and spicy touch of cardamom. The opening of this perfume is both rich and warm, making for a somewhat unique opening and a scent you won’t really find anywhere else.

Shortly after the opening, the note of oud starts to show itself. The oud is rich and dark and almost immediately takes away most of the freshness. There is still that citrusy influence, but it’s very subtle now. Along with the oud are some more woody notes, as well as the sweet and spicy note of patchouli. These all add to the warm and dark feeling that the oud brought, leaving you with a strong and powerful scent.

This powerful scent continues on into the dry down, where it’s accompanied by a semi-sweet scent of tobacco. The tobacco is soft and only provides a nice undertone, but it does smell really nice. In the end, you’re left with a stunning perfume that’s both bold and powerful, but also smooth, soft, and even a little fresh.

Still, this is undoubtedly a cold-weather fragrance, perfect for the fall and winter. During these colder months, this perfume would be great for a casual day or night out, but thanks to the elegant feeling, it also works great in a formal setting. And despite being an oud-based perfume, this one really isn’t that overpowering or offensive.

  • Longevity: 8-10 Hours

14. Super Cedar

what does byredo mojave ghost smell like

Byredo’s Super Cedar is a cedarwood-based perfume that actually smells quite fresh, unlike the typical cedarwood-based perfumes. Launched in 2016, this fragrance has been a popular one from the house ever since!

  • Top Notes: Rose.
  • Middle Notes: Virginian Cedar.
  • Base Notes: Haitan Vetiver and Musk.

What Does Byredo Super Cedar Smell Like?

The opening of Super Cedar immediately introduces us to the main star of this perfume; cedarwood. But instead of a warm and rugged scent of cedarwood, we get a soft and almost damp-smelling scent. This makes for a rather interesting scent that actually smells amazing. Of course, there are still the signature warm hints of cedarwood, but everything seems a little more subdued.

From here, the fragrance progresses into something nice and fresh. The note of rose starts to appear, giving off a feminine and fresh scent, but there’s also a dry touch of vetiver present. These two notes blend in beautifully with the cedarwood, which is gradually becoming stronger and warmer.

Still, the cedarwood will always be soft and smooth and it will never be too strong or overpowering. Instead, you’re left with a stunningly fresh perfume that beautifully blends warm woody notes with fresh rose. Overall, this is a somewhat simple perfume, but simple doesn’t mean bad. Quite the contrary in this case, actually.

Despite being based on woody notes, Super Cedar is actually more of a warm-weather perfume. The lightness of the cedarwood, paired with the freshness of the rose makes for a stunning spring or summertime scent. You can wear it either casually or formally and it will be great during both the day and at night!

15. 1996 Inez & Vinoodh

1996 Inez & Vinoodh is a warm perfume based around amber and several woody notes. Released in 2013, this is one of the lesser-known Byredo fragrances, but it’s one that deserving of more attention!

  • Top Notes: Juniper Berries.
  • Middle Notes: Iris and Violet.
  • Base Notes: Amber, Patchouli, and Leather.

What Does Byredo 1996 Inez & Vinoodh Smell Like?

The opening of this fragrance is crisp and strong with the note of juniper berry at the forefront. The juniper has its distinct piney scent that appears a little woody and rather crisp. Quickly added to the juniper berries are the notes of iris and violet, two powdery floral notes. These floral notes make the perfume much smoother and balance out the juniper nicely.

From here, this rich and powdery scent is accompanied by a warm scent of amber. The amber goes great with the powdery florals and adds a nice and thick feeling to the scent. Although there are two floral notes at the forefront, this perfume is definitely on the warmer and richer side. This has everything to do with the powdery qualities of the two floral notes, but also with the early addition of amber.

In the dry down, we can start to notice a rather smooth scent. This smooth scent is coming from the note of leather and blends in wonderfully with the amber. The powdery florals are also present, and powdery notes always have a smooth edge to them, so naturally, they go together great with the leather.

What you’re left with is a rather luxurious perfume that’s perfect for the warmer months. And although luxurious, this perfume is better suited for a more casual setting. Yes, it’s elegant, but it’s done in an uncommon way that makes it a little too ‘different’. Now, this makes it all the better for a casual setting, where this perfume will easily last you all day or night long!

  • Longevity: 10+ Hours

Are Byredo Fragrances Worth It?

The house of Byredo has some gorgeous fragrances; they are mostly spring and summer scents; however, they do have a diverse range. There are some beautiful winter and fall fragrances that are worth a try but they may just be a tad harder to find. These perfumes are more than worth their price and any one of them would be an amazing addition to any collection.

Being a niche fragrance house, these perfumes do carry a higher price tag, however, their products are high-quality so they are worth spending extra money on. Byredo’s fragrances are deceivingly long-lasting; they feel similar to a mist and you expect it to dissipate rapidly but they last for hours. The length of time they last vary from perfume to perfume but you certainly won’t lose the scent quickly. A nice thing about the fragrances being similar to a light mist is they tend to be very versatile and easy to wear so you never have to worry about wearing an overpowering or offensive scent.

As they tend to be more costly, you may want to purchase a tester before committing to a full bottle. The best way to do this is to purchase a decant, which is a smaller bottle; usually 5ml to 10ml. This can be filled up with a scent of your choice giving you the ability to test it without breaking the bank. If you would like to know more about decants, you can take a look at this more in-depth article here !

All in all, Byredo is an amazing brand; it’s popular, produces high-quality products and its scents are amazing! With their diverse range, regardless of your taste, you will find one you love!

Perfume Dupes Similar To Mojave Ghost

Share now or save for later!

Do you love the uniqueness and complexity of Mojave Ghost, and are you looking for a few great dupes of this unique perfume without compromising? If so, I’ve got you covered.

Mojave Ghost has continued to be one of Byredo’s top-selling fragrances since its launch in 2014. Yet, its higher price point can make it challenging to afford a bottle of this luxury perfume.

This is the place to find great Mojave Ghost dupes and clones similar to Mojave Ghost because I’ve done some heavy research and came up with some great alternatives.

But first, let’s see what we’re looking for exactly.

What Mojave Ghost Is About

Byredo specializes in formulating unique, quirky fragrances with rare notes and formulations that capture the essence of a time or a place. Mojave Ghost is a perfect example of this concept.

Mojave Ghost by Byredo is a warm, floral fragrance first introduced in 2014. Its formulation is inspired by the beauty and mystery of the desert landscape. Featuring hints of fragrant magnolia, sandalwood, and violets, it is reminiscent of fresh floral blooms after a rare desert thunderstorm.

With an amber heart and notes of cedarwood, this perfume is romantic, mysterious, and sophisticated.

Although this fragrance is loved by many, its popularity makes it difficult to locate, making it challenging for those looking to experience Mojave Ghost.

Fortunately, many great dupes and alternative fragrances are available that encapsulate Mojave Ghost’s essence. I have listed ten great alternative perfumes you should consider if you like Mojave Ghost by Byredo.

10 Dupes of Mojave Ghost

1. daisy by marc jacobs.

Daisy by Marc Jacobs

  $72.95 at Amazon.com $112.00 at Sephora.com $128.00 at Ulta.com

If you’re looking for a similar fragrance with notes of floral-woodiness, I suggest taking a look at Daisy by Marc Jacobs . While their fragrance profiles aren’t as similar to Mojave Ghost as some of the other clones I discuss later in this review, they both embody a sophisticated yet seductive quality within them which helps set them apart from other perfumes.

Like Mojave Ghost, Daisy is not overly bold. However, it’s detectable enough to be noticeable, making it an excellent fragrance for the workweek.

What I love about Daisy is its ability to fade into the background only to reappear a few hours later revealing notes of wood and musk. This dry down is very similar to Mojave Ghost, as it lingers on subtle notes of warm amber and musk.

Overall, Daisy is my recommendation if you’re looking for a fragrance featuring similar undertones and a fragrant floral opening.

2. Santal Glow by Zara

Santal Glow by Zara

Check Latest Price

If you enjoy the violet and sandalwood notes within Mojave Ghost but are looking for something a little more light and ethereal, be sure to try out Santal Glow by Zara.

As you spray this scent, a powdery smell emerges. Notes of freesia give it an immaculate feel, like stepping out of a refreshing shower. I love the subtle hints of fresh freesia, which aren’t apparent in Mojave Ghost. Santal Glow leans more towards a floral perfume . However, the warmth of sandalwood gives it a very similar feel to Mojave Ghost.

While Zara isn’t typically known for creating long-lasting fragrances, this one exceeded my expectations, as I didn’t need to reapply it during the day.

I love the price point of Santal Glow too. I’d say give Santal Glow a try if you’re looking for a more affordable alternative to Mojave Ghost that’s a little more floral and light.

3. Cedar Violet by Aerin Lauder

Cedar Violet by Aerin Lauder

  $87.00 at Amazon.com $135.00 at Nordstrom.com $135.00 at Sephora.com

For a fragrance with a slightly more aquatic feel than Mojave Ghost, check out Cedar Violet by Aerin Lauder .

Cedar Violet encapsulates the essence of fragrant flowers and warm cedar trees. I detected hints of white florals and freshly cut greens, which give it a slightly tropical feel. Its warm amber base prevents these notes from overpowering the rest of the scent.

Cedar Violet has a very similar warmth to Mojave Ghost, but the scent is more subtle. I found myself needing to reapply a few hours after I first sprayed it for it to stay truly detectable. But this might be a good thing if bolder fragrances easily overpower your nose.

If you’re looking for a perfume similar in warmness to Mojave Ghost but with more of an aquatic feel, Cedar Violet might be for you.

4. Savane di Seta by Salvatore Ferragamo

Savane di Seta by Salvatore Ferragamo

  $59.97 at Amazon.com $124.00 at Ferragamo.com at Nordstrom.com

Do you love Mojave Ghost’s deep, sandalwood notes but are in the mood for something a little sweeter? Give Savane di Seta by Salvatore Ferragamo a try.

It is a long-lasting fragrance reminiscent of the warm desert florals of Mojave Ghost, while also adding a sweet element of citrus fruit. Wear it for a couple of hours, and you will notice a hint of carrot seed essence. The floral violet notes are present too, though in the form of sweet, woody orris roots.

Though it is labeled a unisex fragrance, Savane di Seta leans more feminine than masculine. I love the soft powdery notes that carry this fragrance throughout the day.

Overall, Savane di Seta is worth a try if you’re looking for a fragrance that’s similar in warmth to Mojave Ghost but with a lighter, fruitier base.

5. Poirier d’un Soir by Miller Harris

Poirier dun Soir by Miller Harris

  $112.73 at Amazon.com $185.00 at Millerharris.com at Fragrancenet.com

Poirier d’un Soir by Miller Harris is a bit more complex than Mojave Ghost, but it still gives off the same warm, desert vibes as Mojave Ghost.

While Mojave Ghosts focuses on light woody, floral notes that I experience as comforting, Poirier d’un Soir goes a step further in projection and complexity.

There are juicy pear and black currant hints throughout this scent, and they seem to persist much longer than some of the other perfumes do.

Poirier d’un Soir is a bit sweeter at first with elements of spun sugar and rum, but these quickly fade into the background and keep from making this fragrance overly sweet.

I love the subtle hints of fragrant rose that appear towards the middle of the dry-down. Its base is very reminiscent of Mojave Ghost, as it is woody, warm, and comforting.

Poirier d’un Soir is an excellent alternative to Mojave Ghost if you love the deep woody and musky notes but prefer a scent with more layers.

6. Desert Wildflower by Bath and Body Works

Desert Wildflower by Bath and Body Works

  at Amazon.com

Byredo’s fragrances can be pretty expensive, so if you’re looking for something much more affordable and don’t mind lighter sillage and longevity, I’d suggest looking at Desert Wildflower by Bath and Body Works .

Desert Wildflower is more of a two-dimensional scent and features fresh floral jasmineand creamy sandalwood notes. Though it isn’t nearly as strong as Mojave Ghost, it does project some warmth.

There aren’t any surprises with Desert Wildflower, just a pleasant combination of woodiness and light white florals. While I can appreciate the more robust and complex notes embodied in luxury scents, I love the uncomplicated nature of Desert Wildflower. It’s perfect to pack in your gym bag or to wear when relaxing around the house.

You should give Desert Wildflower a try if you’re looking for an understated and demure dupe of Mojave Ghost. It’s pleasantly unassuming yet definitely detectable. You may have to reapply this one throughout the day, though.

7. Deep Amber by Ramon Bejar

Deep Amber by Ramon Bejar

If you love Mojave Ghost’s warm musk and amber base and are looking for something with a more masculine feel, give Deep Amber by Ramon Bejar a try. There are hints of soft violet and a powdery dry down that keep this fragrance firmly in the unisex class.

I love the soft elegance of this perfume, as it has a very vintage feel to it that makes it fitting for date night or evening wear. Deep Amber feels sensual and mysterious, but its essence is more refined and elegant.

I highly suggest trying Deep Amber if you’re looking for a perfume you can wear to a formal event or on a night out.

8. Rosy Mousseline by Zara

Rosy Mousseline by Zara

Rosy Mousseline by Zara smells just like what I think Mojave Ghost would if it was enveloped in a fresh bouquet of roses.

While musky notes persist in Rosy Mousseline, layers of juicy pears and roses reveal themselves and linger as you wear it.

Rosy Mousseline is noticeably sweet just like Mojave Ghost but lacks the tropical feel of sapodilla fruit that Mojave Ghost incorporates in its fragrance profile.

It’s an elegant fragrance, though not overly extravagant. It settles pretty close to the skin and is an excellent subtle option for office wear as it isn’t overbearing or heavy.

I love how unapologetically feminine this fragrance is, as the actual formulation features a deep, lavender-pink hue.

Rosy Mousseline reminds me of summer romance and carefree days. It’s a youthful fragrance but is also appropriate for wearers of any age. Give Rosy Mousseline a try if you love Mojave Ghost and enjoy full-bodied roses in your perfume.

9. Chance Eau Tendre by Chanel

Chance Eau Tendre by Chanel

  $116.00 at Chanel.com $122.00 at Ulta.com $154.00 at Amazon.com

If you’re anything like me, sometimes you like to wear a fragrance that isn’t too musky or woody at all. In that matter, I recommend trying Chance Eau Tendre by Chanel as a good alternative as it lacks the warm musky and earthy tones of Mojave Ghost.

While there are light elements of white musk, they tend to settle nicely in the background while sweeter, lighter hints of grapefruit and jasmine take centerstage.

Overall, Chance feels a bit more subtle than Mojave Ghost. I like to think of Chance as Mojave Ghost’s well-behaved older sibling. It’s a bit more mature but still playful with hints of spice that develop and fade over time.

Like Mojave Ghost, this fragrance is great for warmer weather, as it doesn’t overpower your nose or feel heavy at all. Take a chance on Chance if you’re looking for something light and sweet like Mojave Ghost, but lacking the prominent notes of amber or sandalwood.

10. Ilio by Diptyque

Ilio by Diptyque

$246.09 at Amazon.com at Diptyqueparis.com

As the final fragrance on my list of alternatives to Mojave Ghost, I recommend Ilio by Diptyque.

If you’re a fan of the fragrant hints of purple flowers and fruit-bearing cactus that is so prominently displayed in Mojave Ghost, you’re going to love this perfume.

I love Ilio because it does a great job of layering these notes and allowing each a moment to shine.

When I initially spray Ilio, I’m greeted immediately with a fragrant bouquet of sensual jasmine and bright iris, giving it a similar feel to the hints of violet in Mojave Ghost.

As Ilio settles on the skin hints of prickly pear begin to develop, giving you a layer of sweetness and subtle warmth.

There is a soft, powdery dry down like in Mojave Ghost, allowing it to transition into subtle hints of freshly cut greens before slowly fading away.

The fragrance profile is quite similar to Mojave Ghost, but the way each note develops is unique.

Ilio is a great option for you if you’re looking for a dupe of Mojave Ghost with slightly more complex fragrance notes and less prominent woody notes.

Conclusion to Choosing A Fragrance Similar to Mojave Ghost

When looking for a close dupe or alternative to Mojave Ghost, you’re going to like options featuring warm base notes of cedar or sandalwood. Amber also takes center stage in the scent profile. Violet tends to be a central focal point in Mojave Ghost as well, so look for perfume with purple floral notes.

Mojave Ghost isn’t a subtle fragrance, however, it isn’t overly bold either. It settles nicely during the day, making it an excellent option for work and running errands.

In choosing a dupe, select one that behaves similarly. Look for one that settles closely on the skin, leaving behind soft powdery tones and subtle hints of musk . Stick to this advice and I’m confident you will find the perfect fragrance to fit your needs.

Chance Eau Tendre Chanel

Daisy marc jacobs, santal glow eau de toilette zara, iris porcelana ex nihilo, guess 1981 guess, elevator music byredo, what does mojave ghost smell like.

Mojave Ghost is an amber floral fragrance by Byredo. This remarkable perfume smells like a breeze of fresh flowers with a mix of woody aromas that blend perfectly in a classic and timeless bottle.

From the beginning, you get that sweet brown sugar tone from sapodilla along with Ambrette’s fruity, musky, and ambery smell.

These aromas fade away after a while, and the floral freshness of the magnolia starts to show.

Further, the other ingredients of heart note, sandalwood, and violet hit off with their woody, creamy, grounded aroma that mingles with powdery yet romantic violet.

To understand the perfume properly, here’s its note profile:

Top Note:   Sapodilla, Ambrette (Musk Mallow).

Heart Note: Magnolia, Violet, Sandalwood.

Base Note: Ambergris, Cedar.

In the dry down, ambergris gives that musky, earthy, woody smell, and it mixes with the soft cool aura of cedar that compliments each other so well.

This fantastic summer perfume stays up to 6 hours. But it has a high price tag.

What Perfumes Are Similar To Mojave Ghost?

Mojave Ghost has a soft minimalistic aura that has the power to make you enchanted. Also, its notes together create a beautiful fresh, clean perfume that’s hard to resist.

As it became hyped, several perfumes were launched from different brands that have similar notes and smells close to Mojave Ghost.

Top Note: Quince, Grapefruit.

Heart Note: Hyacinth, Jasmine.

Base Note: Musk, Amber, Iris, Virginia Cedar.

Chance Eau Tendre Chanel is by Jacques Polge. He combined different essences and created this fruity floral scent in 2010.

On the top note, you get the smell of violet leaf, strawberry, and grapefruit. So, it’s evident that the opening is fruity and green.

Then in the heart note, you get violet, jasmine, and gardenia, which altogether have a romantic, sweet, yet spicy tone.

In the dry down, musk and vanilla blend perfectly with white wood, which creates a beautiful environment. Chance Eau Tendre perfume has a longevity of 6 hours and offers moderate sillage.

daisy-marc-jacobs

Top Note: Violet Leaf, Strawberry, Blood Grapefruit.

Heart Note: Violet, Gardenia, Jasmine.

Base Note: Musk, White Woods, Vanilla.

Daisy by Marc Jacobs is a floral woody musk clone of Mojave Ghost that was launched in 2007. The nose behind this magic in a bottle is Alberto Morillas.

At the first sniff, you get the aroma of Violet Leaf along with the fruity notes of blood grapefruit and strawberry. Followed by gardenia and jasmine in the middle.

Finally, at the base note, you get white wood, musk with a punch of sweet vanilla.

This fragrance has moderate longevity, and the sillage is also minimal to medium. Plus, the price range is affordable too.

If you are attending a party or wedding in the hot summer or during springtime, Daisy Marc Jacobs, inspired by Mojave Ghost, will be your ideal partner.

  • A versatile and beautifully blended perfume.
  • Lasts longer on the skin.
  • Budget-friendly.

santal-glow-eau-de-toilette-zara

Top Note: Freesia.

Heart Note: Violet.

Base Note: Sandalwood.

Santal Glow Eau de Toilette Zara is a floral fragrance. And was launched in 2020. Not so long ago.

The opening note is freesia. It gives that radiantly sweet, airy freshness when you sniff it first. And this aura stays on for a couple of minutes.

In the base, violet comes with its romantic yet powdery touch.

Finally, the woody, spicy, creamy sandalwood works wonders in the base to make you and your loved ones feel fresh.

But, its longevity is not up to the mark. On the skin, it fades away very soon. So, this is something you need to keep in mind.

Santal Glow Eau de Toilette is a refreshing smell-alike of Mojave Ghost that you can wear during hot seasons, whether spring or summer. The adaptable aroma works fine on different occasions in fall too.

  • Refreshing aroma.
  • Budget-friendly alternative of Mojave Ghost.
  • Moderate longevity.
  • A pleasant and versatile fragrance.

iris-porcelana-ex-nihilo

Top Note: Violet Leaf.

Heart Note: Iris, Rose.

Base Note: Musk, Cedar, Sandalwood.

Iris Porcelana Ex Nihilo is a soft, delicate, fresh perfume by perfumer Dalia Izem. At the first sniff, the beautiful violet note shines through.

Then in the middle note, it has the subtle and sophisticated scent of an iris flower that smells a bit earthier and powdery, as I recently smelt it on my best friend. And it’s slightly sweet too. Though it has rose in the heart, Iris is the star of the show.

The clean feel of this perfume got me sold. In the end, it has a creamy sandalwood base along with soft musk and cedar.

After the dry down, the creaminess of musk and cedar gives that comfortable feeling that stays on for 6 hours, but the price point is a bit much.

Iris Porcelana is a versatile fragrance similar to Mojave Ghost and performs well during bright hot days. But for colder days, it’s not that suitable.

  • Addicting and refreshing unisex scent.
  • Gives a soft and delicate feeling.
  • A beautiful violet opening.
  • Versatile fragrance.

guess-1981-guess

Top Note: Violet, Ambrette (Musk Mallow).

Heart Note: Pear, Sandalwood, Jasmine.

Base Note: Musk, Cedar, Amber.

Guess 1981 is a floral woody musk perfume.

It opens with an ambery sweet ambrette and romantic violet notes. After some time, the fresh, vibrant pear, woody sandalwood, and white flowery rich aroma of jasmine hits off.

Then the aroma develops into earthy, woodsy, soft, and cooling notes of musk, cedar, and amber altogether in the dry down.

Moreover, the accords of Guess 1981 blend beautifully, but its longevity is weak, and you won’t be able to smell the sensual aroma of it on others unless your distance is very close to the wearer.

For your spring, summer, and fall day out, Guess 1981 by Guess is ideal. You will feel energetic and clean all day long.

  • Elegant and sophisticated perfume.
  • Resembling notes of Mojave Ghost.
  • Ambery romantic opening.
  • Goes well on hot summer days.

elevator-music-byredo

Elevator Music by Byredo is another perfume similar to Mojave Ghost. This floral woody musk perfume was launched in 2018, and the nose behind this aroma is Ben Gorham.

Anyway, this overpriced fragrance has a mixture of various notes, like musk, ambrette, and cedar, which gives a woody, earthy cooling vibe.

Also, there are green notes along with the soft flowery touch of jasmine, balsamic guaiac wood, and amyris.

Its aroma lasts up to 6 hours, but compared to that, the price is higher.

You can rock Elevator Music Byredo in spring. It goes well with the natural beauty of the season. Also, it’s ideal for summer.

  • Powdery, musky accords.
  • Standard longevity.
  • Gives a mood-boosting effect.
  • A similar perfume to Mojave Ghost.

Mojave Ghost made its place in the heart of subtle perfume lovers through its amazing blend of notes and the aura it creates around it.

Here I have listed the six finest fragrances that smell similar to Mojave Ghost so that you can choose the one that suits your taste and budget.

So, select your favorite clone, and let me know which perfume you chose at last.

14 Best Hair Perfumes That Smell Subtle and Luxurious at the Same Time

By Sarah Hoffmann and Michelle Rostamian

14 Best Hair Perfumes 2024 for GoodSmelling Hair According to Editors

Let's cut to the chase: are hair perfumes necessary? Absolutely not. Are they a fun, often less expensive alternative to regular perfume ? Absolutely. Give one of the best hair perfumes a go if you're on a fragrance kick and looking to expand your collection — maybe you'll ditch your standard eau de parfum for good.

Our Top Picks

  • Best Overall: Crown Affair The Signature Scent , $85
  • Best Splurge: Parfums de Marly Delina Hair Mist , $90
  • Best Multi-Use: Phlur Mango Mood Hair & Body Fragrance Mist , $35
  • Best Eye Candy: Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Hair Perfume , $70
  • Best Woodsy: Byredo Mojave Ghost Hair Perfume , $80
  • Best Lightweight: Rare Beauty Find Comfort Body & Hair Fragrance Mist , $28
  • Best Hydrating: Gisou Honey Infused Hair Perfume , $44

How does hair fragrance compare to regular perfume, you ask? While they're not a monolith, there are a couple of traits to look out for while perusing and deciphering cryptic scent descriptions. "Hair perfumes or mists usually contain hydrating properties like hyaluronic acid and other natural ingredients that cover odor, have UV ray protection, and give your hair just the right texture and shine," writes New York City- and Columbus-based hairstylist Mia Santiago . Keep an eye out for hair-loving ingredients to tackle frizz and dryness , on top of making your hair smell impeccable.

Hair perfumes are also more likely to be alcohol-free than their standard counterparts, which earns them a big A-plus from Santiago. She notes that because of the alcohol content, regular perfume "would be very drying to your hair and can cause breakage."

And just because you're adding new beauty products to your arsenal doesn't necessarily mean entering uncharted olfactory waters. Some of the top names in fragrance like Byredo , Diptyque , and Maison Francis Kurkdjian make scented hair versions of multiple of their beloved, iconic fragrances. The hair versions tend to be more subtle and fade faster than regular perfume, but they're also usually way cheaper, which feels like a fair trade.

Keep scrolling to see our picks for the best hair perfumes and we bet you'll have a new signature scent by the time you're through.

Why It's Worth It: Clean, cool, and refreshing is the perfect way to describe the Crown Affair The Signature Scent, which happens to be an Allure Best of Beauty winner . The scent is a delightful blend of citrus, bitter, and tart notes — with a slightly floral twist.

Editor Tip: This formula is so lightweight you won't even know you're wearing it — perfect for those with fine or limp hair.

Phlur Mango Mood Hair Body Fragrance Mist on white background

Best Multi-Use: Phlur Mango Mood Hair & Body Fragrance Mist

Why It's Worth It: Considering Phlur's collection of fine fragrances is already so well-loved — Missing Person is an editor fave and Solar Power won a 2023 Best of Beauty Award — the bar is set high for the brand's hair perfumes. And, we're happy to report that it doesn't disappoint. The two-in-one mist can be used on the hair and body — and you'll want to treat your nose to its fruity floral notes.

Editor Tip: If you choose to wear this on your body, apply it in your creases (like the backs of your knees and elbows) to allow the scent to sharpen with the warmth of your body.

Fragrance Notes: Mango, jasmine, brown sugar | More Scents: Vanilla Skin , Amber Haze

Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Hair Perfume pink bottle on white background

Best Eye Candy: Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Hair Perfume

As for said scent, it features notes of lemon zest and jasmine, leaving behind a trail of rich freshness that you'll feel inclined to spritz on your body too.

Editor Tip: This has double the benefits for both your hair and body since it contains biotin to strengthen the hair and niacinamide to improve the skin's moisture barrier.

Fragrance Notes: Lemon zest, jasmine, and cashmere wood

Gisou Honey Infused Hair Perfume on white background

Best Hydrating: Gisou Honey Infused Hair Perfume

Why It's Worth It: Gisou adding a honey-infused hair fragrance to its lineup is hardly surprising, but being predictable is fine when all of your products are nourishing, luxurious, and smell so. Damn. Good. Made with honey from the Mirsaleh bee garden in Holland, Gisou's Honey Infused Hair Perfume hydrates hair and tames frizz, while adding a touch of sweetness to whatever perfume you're wearing that day.

Editor Tip: Because it comes in a pocket-size, 1.7-ounce bottle, you can easily carry it in your gym bag or purse whenever you're on the go.

Fragrance Notes: Floral, sweet, citrus

Diptyque Eau Rose Hair Mist on white background

Best Floral: Diptyque Eau Rose Hair Mist

Why It's Worth It: The simplistic design on the bottle of Diptyque's Eau Rose Hair Mist is so easy on the eyes that it almost doesn't matter what it smells like, but we all know the French perfume house isn't one to slack off when it comes to scents. This floral fragrance is light and delicate, with notes of damascena and centifolia that transport you straight to the Mediterranean coast.

Editor Tip: To ensure the product absorbs readily, rinse your hair with cold water before spritzing on.

Fragrance Notes: Damascena, centifolia, camellia oil | More Scents: Do Son , Eau Capitale , Eau des Sen , Eau Rihla , Fleur de Peau

Oribe Côte D'Azur Hair Refresher on white background

Best Dry Shampoo-Perfume Duo: Oribe Côte D'Azur Hair Refresher

Why It's Worth It: Oribe's Côte D'Azur Hair Refresher is what you'd get if a hair perfume and a dry shampoo had a shiny, golden baby. This spray neutralizes odor and nixes static, so second-day hair looks (and smells) just like the first. The brand's signature jasmine, sandalwood, and bergamot fragrance is just the icing on the cake.

Editor Tip: This contains aloe leaf juice to help hydrate — perfect for weeks you've gone overboard with dryness-inducing hair tools.

Fragrance Notes: Lemon, black currant, Calabrian bergamot, Sicilian orange, tuberose, blue cyclamen, white butterfly jasmine, sandalwood, vetiver, amber

Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa Hair Body Fragrance Mist on white background

Best Sweet Scent: Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa Hair & Body Fragrance Mist

Why It's Worth It: Sol de Janeiro is best known for its Readers' Choice Award-winning Brazilian Bum Bum Cream , which smooths skin, restores elasticity, and smells like an expensive dessert. The Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Crush Cheirosa '62 Hair & Body Fragrance Mist shares the Bum Bum Cream's notes of salted caramel, pistachio, and vanilla so the sweetness is strong — but despite the gourmand of it all, the fragrance is layerable and isn't too intense.

Editor Tip: Can't get enough? Spritz away on your clothing and lingerie — the scent will linger without you having to worry about staining.

Fragrance Notes: Salted caramel, pistachio, vanilla

Maison Francis Kukdjian Paris Baccarat Rouge 540 Scented Hair Mist on white background

You'll smell notes of bergamot, white flower, and musky wood, but in a subtle form to ensure the mist moves with your hair and never comes across as too in-your-face.

Editor Tip: The cold-pressed lemon adds a crisp brightness to the scent — great for refreshing second-day hair.

Fragrance Notes: Musks, bergamot, white flowers, lemon

Being Frenshe Hair Body Linen Mist on white background

Why It's Worth It: Everything from Ashley Tisdale's brand Being Frenshe smells really, really good. The wellness-focused line features five scents with different objectives, like calming, energizing, and blissing you out. Cashmere Vanilla (pictured above) is a mature take on the classic, sweet aroma and encourages you to take a moment to find your inner peace.

Editor Tip: We love that the bottle's top mimics wood — it elevates the packaging and makes you want to display it on your nightstand (which is handy, as this can be sprayed on your linens!).

Fragrance Notes: Vanilla, toasted jasmine rice, amber, musk | More Scents: Bergamot Cedar, Citrus Amber, Lavender Cloud, Solar Fleur

History Byredo® Mojave Ghost

The history of Byredo ® Mojave Ghost is a journey that intertwines artistry, inspiration, and olfactory innovation. Created by the Swedish perfume house Byredo ® , this fragrance pays homage to the captivating 'ghost flower', an extraordinary and rare species that thrive in the Mojave Desert, one of the most inhospitable landscapes in the world.

The roots of Mojave Ghost trace back to the year 2014 when Byredo ® founder Ben Gorham embarked on a quest to capture the essence of the ghost flower's resilience and beauty. The ghost flower, scientifically known as Mohavea confertiflora, mesmerized Gorham with its ability to flourish against the odds in the arid expanse of the Mojave Desert, defying the harsh conditions of the region.

Gorham, with his unique creative vision, sought to encapsulate the spirit of this enigmatic flower in a fragrance that transcended conventional perfumery. He collaborated with expert perfumers to translate the ghost flower's story into a symphony of scents. The result was Byredo ® Mojave Ghost – an ethereal composition that juxtaposes delicate floral notes with the rugged essence of the desert.

Best Byredo Mojave Ghost Dupes - Let Chez Pierre's Bailey Be Your Next Obsession

Step into the realm of alluring scents with our sensually-priced revelation, Chez Pierre's Bailey – a fragrant masterpiece inspired by the iconic Mojave Ghost.

Written by Petar Perić

Chez Pierre

In the world of fragrances, a unique scent often has a captivating story behind its creation. Such is the case with "Mojave Ghost" by Byredo, a fragrance that emerged from the enchanting deserts of the American Southwest and quickly won over the hearts of both connoisseurs and celebrities.

The Birth of Mojave Ghost

Mojave Ghost, created by perfumer Ben Gorham for the Swedish niche fragrance house Byredo, was introduced to the olfactory world in 2014. The fragrance draws its inspiration from the Mojave Desert, a vast region known for its stark beauty and sparse yet resilient flora.

Gorham, reflecting on his journey through the desert, sought to capture the essence of this harsh yet captivating environment. The result was Mojave Ghost, a fragrance that blends the mystical notes of ambrette, magnolia, violet, and sandalwood to create a scent that evokes both the desolation and allure of the Mojave.

How Did Mojave Ghost Become Popular?

It garnered attention swiftly after its launch, establishing itself as one of the best niche fragrance houses among fragrance enthusiasts and influencers. Its unique combination of delicate florals and woody notes appealed to those seeking a scent that was both distinctive and versatile.

Social media and online communities dedicated to fragrances played a pivotal role in its rise to popularity, with enthusiasts sharing their experiences and creating a buzz around this desert-inspired gem. Word of mouth and rave reviews further fueled its allure, making it a sought-after fragrance for those in the know.

What Should I Look For In A Dupe?

When searching for a fragrance dupe, it's essential to focus on finding a scent that closely replicates the notes and character of the original perfume, ensuring it captures the essence and appeal of the higher-priced option.

Pay attention to factors such as longevity, sillage, and overall quality to ensure that the dupe delivers a satisfying experience. A dupe should also provide a cost-effective alternative to a high-end fragrance without compromising too much on scent profile or performance.

What Does Mojave Ghost Smell Like?

In a world where scent can be a personal signature, Mojave Ghost by Byredo has carved out its own niche, becoming a fragrant symbol of understated elegance. Its journey from the Mojave Desert to the global stage is a testament to the power of scent to captivate hearts and senses alike, leaving an indelible mark on the world of perfumery.
