The 37 Grand delivers a twin en-suite cabin layout cleverly designed into its 37 foot length, providing your guests with the same level of accommodation in the aft guest cabin as can be enjoyed in the master forward cabin. The two generous-sized toilet compartments both with separate showers offer the creature comforts of home for those longer stays onboard.

The portside saloon galley offers excellent natural light and features a large 130-litre fridge with a freezer compartment, the option of gas or electric hob, oven, and grill, stainless steel square sink with mixer tap. U-shaped settee to starboard, converting to double with storage under, and a large rectangular table. An optional starboard side internal helm position is available with a clever convertible double forward/dinette helm seat. Stainless steel and timber stairs connect the saloon to the aft upper deck steering position with seating provided for more than six.

The helm position is located to starboard dash full engine instruments, chart table, and space for optional electronic navigation instrumentation. The aft deck canopy is easily lowered and provides shelter for the large u-shaped cockpit seating, the teak table is height adjustable and lowers to vert the seating area to a large sunpad. One step leads to the wide side decks with a foredeck seating area which can also be used with a table or converted to a second sunpad. The full-width aft bathing platform offers easy low-level access.

The target for our Baltic 37 design was to produce a high performance, comfortable, easily handled yacht capable of offshore racing as well as offshore cruising at a size which could be best described as a “small one-tonner”.

Characteristics were very much in line with the successful Baltic 39, while embodying changes aimed towards improved upwind and downwind performance especially in medium to light wind conditions.

The deck design offered a handsome low profile and companionway entrance with easy access from the cockpit. The interior layout was quite unique for a boat of this size with an aft cabin as well as a full stand-up head. The production of the Baltic 37 spanned the years 1978 to 1983.

1978 Baltic 37 Here, in Stamford CT, is a well maintained, well updated 1978 Baltic 39 with a 2003 Volvo MD11C diesel and Sail Drive, in the water and for sale. Baltic Yachts built 51 Baltic 37’s between 1978 and 1983 in Finland. C&C designed the lightweight fully cored Baltic 37 as an IOR one tonner, a racing complement to the Swan Yacht’s line up. The Baltic 37’s were competitive boats then and are surprising competitive boat today. Despite the IOR concessions, this Baltic 37 is a comfortable family cruiser with berths for eight, a good functioning galley, a reasonably sized head, and a great sailing cockpit. Many of us raised on Long Island Sound understand the advantages of a cruising boat that has the ability to move along when the winds are light. This boat will thrill the cruising sailor with pedigree performance and provide comfortable accommodations for the whole family. Large and comfortable enough to cruise the coast from Cape May to Maine, she is also equipped to make an impulse trip to Halifax or Bermuda. All options are open. While the current owner enjoys IOR racing and has set up the boat accordingly, the new owner may well be a family cruiser with…maybe a little ambition to show up boys at the local club races. This Baltic 37 is in good condition and in the water, ready to go at a moment’s notice. She is nicely maintained and fully found.

Accommodations

Up to eight berths in two cabins plus the saloon. V berth forward, two settee and two pilot berths in the saloon and a double berth in the aft cabin. High quality teak joinery throughout including teak and holly soles.

Forward cabin has V berth, shelving and two large lockers. Sail stowage below berths.

The saloon has a double folding leaf table and plenty of stowage below and behind the settee berths plus pilot berths.

The forward facing chart table is to port in the saloon and has a generous table plus navigation kit and electrical panels to hand. Wet locker aft of navigators seat.

The heads compartment is aft of the chart table and has a Jabsco marine toilet, shower and basin. Hot and cold pressurised fresh water system heated via the engine and foot pump for fresh water

The galley is opposite and to starboard with a three burner gas range with oven and grill, fridge, and stainless steel sink. Plenty of drawer and locker spaces.

The aft cabin is accessed from the galley and has a good size double berth, hanging locker, shelving, port light and mirror.

Diesel heating system.

Masthead bermudan sloop rig, keel stepped. Black anodised aluminium mast and boom, stainless steel standing rod rigging, competition running rigging, Reckmann adjustable hydraulic backstay, adjuster and Roller furler plus Antal mainsheet system - All new in 2018.

Spinnaker pole, Jockey pole. Lewmar Ocean series 44 & 48 primary and secondary winches installed 2013 + new Antal Halyard winch in 2018.
