I guess if you're coming here, it's either because you're a member and know what to expect, or it's for an event and you're there for reasons other than reviewing the entire experience. Overall, in the big picture of what this place is, I'd give it 4 starts, but based off of my singular dining experience I'm sticking with a 3 until my next visit. In summary, I had higher expectations based on the reputation and menu prices. I've been here a few times and sat at the bar. The staff is small so it's nice to see familiar faces. Food is always good but I most recently went for a Christmas dinner. We had a party of 7 which is a fairly large table. The service was not impressive and resulted in the majority of my 'Meh' opinion. When it comes to the food, really everything that we had was good, but everything we ordered was not had. Now, this is in the middle of a lake and they don't always know how busy they will be, therefore, they stock the kitchen off of that. Understandable, I remember waitressing busy nights when we had to practically 86 everything but free bread and butter. (86 is the kitchen term when they're out of something). Well they 86'd about half of our order. The thing here that gets me, is that we were the only table ordering dinner and we had a reservation, so they knew we were coming. If they were out of staples such as mashed potatoes, all potatoes, and most of the veggie sides, I think the server should know the list of unavailable options when she takes our order. Instead, we had that experience where she took our order, came back to inform us they were out, took our replacement order, and then came back again to tell us those items were out as well (This happened for 4 of our 7 meals). We also had a few ordering issues, meals came different than what we ordered, and one meal even came out after we had all been served and eaten. Like really delayed meal. It happens, but she didn't particularly do anything or seem to mind that the person paying for dinner, also a member there, had no food while everyone else had cleared their plates. It's an "it is what it is" kind of place. At least the food we had was tasty!
Great staff!!! Amazing girls working and Chris at the bar is the absolute best!!! Highly recommend the Nut Crust Salad. Staff cares for the members like their own family. All covid-19 safety precautions are in place. And a dirty plate is never on your table for more than 2 minutes once you're done eating! Truly amazing service.
