The Cruising Yacht Club of WA exceed our expectations for the wedding reception. I was a bit nervous about the food as I heard mixed reviews, but the food was outstanding. We had a buffet. All our guest at our wedding raved about how good the food was & some of our friends are chefs. I can’t wait to have many more events here. With all the fairy lights the place really does come alive. The thing I didn’t like is we had to pay a fee to set up the day before in the space. Which I personally think it was a bit harsh to make someone pay that fee to set up the day before if the room is empty/ not being used. The staff who worked at our wedding reception where so friendly & lovely. We wanted to be friends with them all. Thanks for making our day so special. - Hayley McDonald

The Cruising Yacht Club of WA Inc. is a private club for the use and enjoyment by its members and guests. Situated south of Perth on the shore of Cockburn Sound, the club enjoys a mild climate and protected waters ideal for the enjoyment of the sea. The Club offers excellent restaurant and function facilities, along with fully licenced bar at the clubhouse, situated on the waterfront strip of Rockingham, moorings, and a hardstand area available at Point Peron.

About this venue

California Yacht Club was started in 1922 in Los Angeles harbor by a group of dedicated yachtsman - most from Los Angeles Athletic Club and the rest active in other early yacht clubs of the day. They built a magnificent clubhouse with an anchorage of several hundred sail and power boats. Offshore speedboat contests and long distance cruising were active pursuits as well as sailing ' round the buoys. CYC's trophy case was filled to bursting early on and the Club contributed many of the leaders of Southern California's early yachting organizations. The Clubhouse was the scene of many Los Angeles area social activities and drew visitors from around the world.

E mily and Angel held their intimate destination wedding ceremony at the Cruising Yacht Club of South Australia, surrounded by multimillion-dollar yachts.

“Emily and Angel chose to be prepared in the same location, together at a property not far from the Cruising Yacht Club. The atmosphere was reasonably laid back with family and friends also on-site fussing about, preparing lunch or getting ready while watching a Chinese action movie on the TV in the background. I was treated to some scrumptious homemade food while there, and it was very much appreciated!

The Cruising Yacht club of SA is a well-kept secret of Adelaide wedding venues, nestled along the shores of the northwestern Adelaide beaches, the marina and club rooms are hard to spot unless you are looking out for the venue as you drive past. The main draw of the venue for weddings would be the views of the marina and exclusivity of the space provided—including gated car parking and a hidden wedding ceremony spot.

The wedding ceremony location set up at the Cruising Yacht Club of SA is a small, dedicated area set off to the side of the marina, shaded by cloth sails and headlined by an impressive concrete circular station where the bridal couple stands during the ceremony. Emily and Angel’s wedding ceremony was held bilingually in both English and Chinese for the benefit of all those in attendance and made everyone smile with its innate sweetness and beauty.

The Cruising Yacht club of SA has a number of different function rooms to choose from when holding a wedding ceremony. As Emily and Angel’s wedding party wasn’t on the large side, they opted to make use of the smaller of the available areas for their wedding reception. It was a nice space that boasted sweeping views of the marina and all the boats. Cruising Yacht Club of SA Wedding

Emily and Angel held their lovely intimate wedding ceremony at the the Cruising Yacht Club of SA. The prestige of this venue is apparent as soon as you arrive as you’re surrounded by multi million dollar yachts in a stunning location! I was asked to be their wedding photographer for a few hours, seeing me with them for their preparation, through to the first parts of their early reception dinner.

Preparation

Emily and Angel chose to be prepared on the same location, together at a property not far from the Cruising Yacht Club. The atmosphere was reasonably laid back with family and freinds also on site fussing about, preparing lunch, or getting ready while watching a Chinese action movie on the TV in the background. I was treated to some scrumptous home made food while there, and it was very much appreciated!

As Emily and Angel were being prepared at the same lcoation they could share makeup artists and hairdressers, without having them travel to multiple locations in the morning – this made everything run much smoother than what I have experienced in the past, and everyone was ready to leave, and head to the ceremony quite early.

Glamour Photos

After the ceremony and family photos which we held just behind where the wedding ceremony took place, we first used the Cruising Yacht Club of SA’s lovely marina lined with huge yachts to take some glamour photos. Emily and Angel had even arranged to use the bow of one of the yachts to have photos done, which was wonderfully unique. We then went on a short drive to Grange beach where we used the lovely sand dunes and jetty for more shots, while also making use of the large kites that were being flown that day as a backdrop.

The Cruising Yacht club of SA has a number of different function rooms to choose from when holding a wedding ceremony. WHile I wasn’t there for their entire reception, the atmosphere was friendly, laid back and felt very family friendly, with evertyone enjoying themselves and listening to speeches.

Comfort and Safety Tips

• Dress in layers as it tends to be cooler on the water.
• Wear comfortable, non-marking soled shoes.
• Bring a camera, sunscreen, sunglasses, and hat if you desire.
• Motion sickness medication should be taken according to the manufacturer’s directions.
• Prices are subject to taxes and fees. We accept major credit cards only. We do not accept cash.
• Please arrive 20-30 minutes early to check in for your cruise.

Where can I park for the public cruise? You may park in the Santa Barbara Harbor. The cost is $3 per hour with a $18 maximum charge per 24 hour period. You need to keep your parking ticket and pay upon exiting. The lot is a Santa Barbara City Lot.

Which boat is right for my group?

For groups of up to 6, we offer Catalina yachts ranging in size from 27’-50’.  For groups of up to 49, we offer The Double Dolphin, a 50’ Sailing Catamaran.  If your group exceeds 49, we recommend Channel Cat, which can  accommodate groups of up to 149.

Can I bring outside food or alcohol? If you are on Double Dolphin, you may bring outside catering for a $150 catering fee. Alternatively, you may order catering through us. No outside alcohol is allowed with the exception of wine, which is subject to a $25 corkage fee per 750ml bottle. On our Catalina yachts (groups up to 6), you may bring outside food and beverages free of charge.

Can I bring decorations? Please contact us. We do our best to accommodate decorations. To protect our ocean, we do not allow balloons on the water.

Do you have any beverage packages? We do not offer packages, but on Double Dolphin, we do offer a bar onboard stocked with wine, beer, soda and water. You may purchase beverages ahead of time at our office for charters on our Catalina yachts.

Payment and Reservation Policy 100% non-refundable payment is due at the time of booking. We accept all major debit/credit cards. We do not accept cash.

Cancellation and House Credit Policies To receive house credit, advance notice must be given  by 4pm the day prior  to your booking for the following:

• Private Double Dolphin Cruises
• Private Skippered Charters
• Non-ASA Certification Lessons and Guided SUP/Kayak Tours.

To receive house credit, a 7-day advance  notice is required for the following:

• Corporate Regattas
• Dining at Sea Private Charters
• Multi-Day Skippered Charters

Membership Cancellation Policy All memberships auto-bill on the first of each month. If you would like to cancel your membership at any point, you must submit written notice before the first of the month. We cannot offer any refunds or credits for dues already charged.

Liability Waiver Forms Before participating in water activities, all participants must sign a release of liability form.

Inclement Weather Policy Full refunds  are available when the captain and/or manager make the call for cancellation  one hour prior to your departure . Inclement weather is defined as “sea and wind conditions that are deemed potentially unsafe.” Trips operating under unfavorable conditions that do not pose any risk to boat safety (rain, fog, temperature, etc.) will still operate as scheduled. Cancellations made due to “unfavorable conditions” by 4pm the day prior to departure will result in a house credit with no expiration date.

Cannabis Policy Although California state law currently allows prescription and recreational cannabis to be legal, it is  not  legal while boating since the ocean is considered  Federal Water . All illegal drugs, as well as all forms of cannabis, are  not permitted on any boat for any reason in any amount . The Charterer/Renter will be held liable for the  full value  of the vessel should anything happen to the boat, as well as  loss of income .

Alcohol Policy Hard alcohol is  not  permitted aboard the Double Dolphin under any circumstances. No outside alcohol may be brought on the Double Dolphin for public cruises.. Wine can be brought aboard the Double Dolphin for  private charters only . Each bottle is subject to a $25 corkage fee and no bottle over 750 ml will be permitted. No other outside alcohol is allowed. Hard alcohol, wine, and beer are all permitted aboard Private Skippered Charters free of charge.

Capacity Policy Private charters aboard our Catalinas may have a maximum of 6 guests (not including captain) on board at all times. The Double Dolphin may have a maximum of 49 passengers (not including captain and crew) on board at all times. Infants count as a full passenger according to the U.S. Coast Guard.

Kayak/SUP Policy Everyone participating in kayak or paddle activities must be a strong swimmer. Please see our website for equipment weight capacity. It is the renter’s responsibility to make sure the equipment is not overloaded. All minors 18 years or younger must be accompanied by an adult at all times while paddling or kayaking.

Catering Order Policy All catering orders are 100% non-refundable and must be placed at least 96 hours prior to your scheduled departure date. If your charter is canceled for any reason, your catering order will be made available for pick up at our office.

It is the renter’s responsibility to make sure the equipment is not overloaded. All minors 18 years or younger must be accompanied by an adult at all times while paddling or kayaking.

Catering Order Policy:

All catering orders are 100% non-refundable and must be placed at least 96 hours prior to your scheduled departure date. If your charter is canceled for any reason, your catering order will be made available for pick up at our office.

A Small Venue For Every Occasion

The Capricornia Cruising Yacht Club is a venue to suit all needs from a special birthday, engagement party or wedding in a very relaxed atmosphere

The club house is located on the Rosslyn Bay harbor and has the best sunsets in Yeppoon.

To keep your costs down you can cater for yourself using our kitchen and BBQ’s or you can hire someone to cater for you.

Our club house can seat up to 80 people and for a cocktail style 100.

There is table linen in black or white with crockery and cutlery for your use as well.

Marin Yacht Club is the best kept marina on the Bay. They have a live in Harbormaster to maintain the docks and provide extra security. In addition to the Marina there is a pool, 3 tennis courts also lined to pickle ball and a world class chef providing excellent dinners on the weekends. And added amenity is the super friendly members. The restaurant/clubhouse has been redecorated and is a wonderful place for parties. Plus it's just a great place to hang out. The bar has a epic view of the Bay and canal. The bartender Laurel is a real mixologist. It has become our home away from home. We are so glad we joined. Love it here!

Novato High School, Classes of 1961 and 1962 held their 60th reunion Saturday afternoon at the Marin Yacht Club in San Rafael. This location was absolutely perfect! The location, surroundings and ambiance was constantly praised by the attendees. The Club staff (special praise to Laurel and Tracey), and Aletia, the GM, went above and beyond to make it perfect for us. The banquet, provided by Elena with Porchetta Toscana Catering, was delicious and served in a timely and efficient manner. The Club offers this business as their separate caterers, but you are welcome to provide your own (I don't recommend this as Elena has provided this service to the club for some time; knows the set up and kitchen, etc.) Everyone was wonderful to work with. A huge plus was the ability for us to provide Zoom to those across the globe who were unable to attend (for example, from Milan, Italy). Throughout the two hour Zoom segment after our meal, shrieks could be heard as one by one, folks discovered who those "old" folks were! The set up was very easy to get around to join in all the individual conversations being heard throughout the venue. An outside, cozy patio provided fresh air and a yacht setting behind them for additional private conversations. This club also provides various outdoor games: Pickle Ball, Tennis, Bocce Ball, and even a pool. I might add that I was a professional corporate event planner for over 20 years and this event, the location, the staff, all rated "exceeds expected" considering my past experience. I'm recommending we hold our next reunion there again...and 5 years, not 10!

Beautiful grounds, fab food, well maintained docks - what's not to like? We used to rent a boat slip at Loch Lomond, but hubby figured out it was much more cost effective to purchase a leasehold interest in a slip at MYC, even with the membership initiation and monthly dues. So when we upgraded to a bigger boat, it was relatively easy to sell our old slip and move to a larger one. An even better bonus was finding out that this marina is better protected from the wind. We love going to our boat now and just hanging out at the dock for lovely sunsets and cocktails! They also have a pool and 3 tennis courts.

Beautiful grounds and great docks! Chef Scott Dammann used to own Eastside West restaurant in SF; he's great. He catered the wedding reception we held for our son & daughter-in-law last fall and it was delish! If you can fit in the upstairs area, the views are to die for! We decided to join several years ago - best decision ever. We had kept our boat at Loch Lomond Harbor, but it's less windy here, and cheaper in the long run cuz you own leasehold interest in your dock. It really paid off when we upgraded to a larger boat: simply sold the old slip and purchased a larger one.

Our networking group meets here every Thursday for Breakfast from 7am to 8:30am, Cheryl is the best, she listens to folks, has all kinds of drinks, teas, fresh juice, even Soy Milk. Over the Years we have tried many other locations, no place else in Marin "by the bay" has 100+ free parking spaces! We recently asked for hot oatmeal, and mixed greens for the veggie eaters and she served both right up. If you are looking for a space for your weekly group function, this is the place!

A good venue for group meetings and events. Very competitive rates and good catering. You should definitely check this place out.
