Overmarine Mangusta Boat Models

Overmarine produces Mangusta yachts, which are separated into three lines: The Mangusta Open Maxi line, the Mangusta Oceano line and the latest edition, the Mangusta GranSport.

Maxi Open Yacht Models

It all began 30 years ago with the Mangusta Maxi Open. Currently the market leader in this segment of yachts, there are five size options available for the Maxi Open: 94 feet (28.6m), 110 feet (33.5m), 132 feet (40.2m), 165 feet (50.2m) and 215 feet (65.5m) in length.

All of the Maxi Open yachts are exceptional. Offering iconic style, excellent stability, resulting in total comfort and a quiet ride for those aboard, top performance in terms of speed and agility and well-thought-out layouts that allow guests to utilize the yacht to its fullest potential, there is a reason this line is a leader in the market. The most prominent of the Maxi Open range is the 165-foot (50.2m) Mangusta 165 E series. Welcoming 12 guests in six lavish staterooms and running with nine crewmembers, she is ideally suited for owners with a penchant for performance and style. Her interior is fully customizable to the owner’s taste.

Oceano Yacht Models

The Mangusta Oceano line is perfect for those looking to cruise beyond the bounds of the typical yachting hot spots and explore more remote destinations. Offering the same high-performance capabilities that you would come to expect from Overmarine’s yachts and utilizing the same high-tech processes, but with the addition of metal for long-range purposes, the Mangusta Oceano truly is prime for travel. Available in as at 141 feet (43m), 150 feet (46m), 180 feet (55m) or 197 feet (60m), the interior volume found aboard yachts in the Mangusta Oceano range is truly remarkable. Built to rival explorer yachts available on the market today, Mangusta’s distinguished exterior style and contemporary interiors are aligned with a nautical range of up to 5,000 miles and an impressive beach club.

Gransport Yacht Models

The latest addition to Overmarine’s repertoire is the Mangusta GranSport line. Created to be the perfect blend of the Maxi Open and Oceanco lines, the GranSport offers an exceptional range with high speeds and top performance. The first of this line was a 177-foot (54m) launched in summer 2018 and welcomed with great acclaim. You can expect to see more of the GranSport line hitting the markets soon.

Superyacht 77 – Spring 2023

It all started out in 2016: Oceano 42 marked the yard’s debut with displacing long range and Alberto Mancini’s first cooperation with the yard. Six years later the partnership is stronger than ever: an evolutionary Oceano 43 paved the way to this new 44, a huge floating villa specifically designed to sail on the seven seas, across untouched paradise, in perfect Mangusta style.

Mangusta_Oceano_44

Oceano 44 is Mangusta’s new, displacing, three-deck jewel, from the yard’s namesake high range line. She was built at Overmarine’s plants in Pisa, took to water in July 2022, and officially debuted at Monaco Yacht Show, welcomed by owners’ and professionals’ consent and enthusiasm.

Succeeding the award-winning Oceano 43, the new model introduces a new exclusive idea of life onboard, as she completely redefines the way of living at sea: a glass-dominated environment underlies constant interaction between inner and outer spaces. And the boat rightly won the “Best Interior Design Awards 2022” at the World Yachts Trophy.

Mangusta_Oceano_44

Oceano 44 is not a face lifting of the old 43: she stands out as an innovative project to exalt her predecessor’s features while making the new model unique. She was devised to offer unprecedented experience onboard, to make the most of sailing and time spent onboard. Volumes, full-height windows, and the new sliding doors system created the right continuum for the best experience onboard.

Mangusta_Oceano_44

Speaking about Oceano 42, Alberto Mancini declared: “A sharpened pencil met a blank sheet. Three decks were all I had in mind, her neat lines gradually came out, to define overall bow-to-aft proportions. Graphite shades engraved concave and convex surfaces. She simply had to be a Mangusta, she needed a strong personality to bear the name Oceano”. The same policy led to the new 44’s fully consistent lines. “Mangusta Oceano 44 is a World Yacht-says Mancini-characterized by a sleek elegant profile as well as high-profile performances.

A floating loft, to reinvigorate the philosophy of global floating architecture, and offer her guests an unprecedented experience, along with the pleasure of spending every single moment onboard in total comfort. She is a floating villa, devised to sail on the Seven Seas and discover untouched paradise, for unique cruising with no intention of losing Mangusta’s exclusive and typical style”.

A perfect example of outer spaces to enhance life onboard comes from the beach area, meant and designed as a socializing area. Opening the aft mirror and lowering side balconies create a 180-degree room flooded with natural lights both through side windows and the partially glazed upper deck.

The latter was actually introduced by Mancini on Oceano 42, to furtherly expand the perception of space onboard.

A couch, lounge chairs and a bar fully complete the equipment of the area. All relaxation areas take the idea of life onboard to its highest level: one of the yacht’s distinctive features are the two skim pools on the Main and Sun deck.

Mangusta_Oceano_44

The former, bow-oriented, is a stunning pool called “The Island”, as it exactly looks like a sunbathing island, 360-degree surrounded by water, and accessed by a teak bridge for a complete integration with the surrounding environment. The pool is partially glass-bottomed , so as to allow natural light to reach the deck below.

The airy bridge, close to this area, is truly unique: it is surrounded by full-height windows, to enjoy clear visibility in all directions. Imposing surfaces, yet undreamed of, like the 104-square metre Sun deck make Oceano 44 a real jewel, enriched by her interiors: a constant swing between cold and hot materials, lacquering and matte wood, marble and leather upholstery standing for contemporary minimalism.

Mangusta_Oceano_44

The ship’s refined layout defines a constant dialogue between inner and outer spaces, mainly due to floor-to-ceiling glass surfaces that flood the interiors with natural light. Uninterrupted connection between all spaces was actually a crucial point in the project, which was achieved through cross and side sliding doors, for a perfect continuum of materials and solutions and full enhancement of life onboard.

This is fully visible on the upper deck, unquestionably dominated by its full-height windows. The view guests can enjoy from here is absolutely unparalleled: windows are externally amplified by as many glasses laid as protections to create a one, unique room with a stunning view on the sea. Steel bulwark and handrails were actually replaced with transparent, teak flush glass panels, which do not obstruct the view from inside. Ocean0 44’s standard layout features a second living room on the upper deck, with its three sliding doors, two of which are side doors.

On this first unit though, the owner wished a second suite on this floor, to enjoy better privacy and a priceless view on the sea. The owner’s suite is accessed through an internal staircase, that connects the main deck lobby with a dressing area on the upper deck. This is basically the owner’s walk-in wardrobe, fully equipped with mirrors and shelves. It provides direct access to the suite itself, which literally merges into the surrounding environment thanks to its large windows. Warm and delicate nuances rule the roost here, adding to pink elements like the Marine leather headboard showing off a 3D, smartly sitting fish. Or the vanity colour face-powder, served by a Minotti-penned armchair.

Mangusta_Oceano_44

The same nuances are found in the bathroom, fitted with Calacatta and Thassos marble and finished with pink golden taps. The main deck is dominated by a large living room, where the same succession of warm and cold material is found: the floor alternates marble and wood, perfectly quoting the sofa’s camel coloured Frau leather at the entrance. Four more Frau leather armchairs complete the equipment.

The Minotti penned low table is also in Calacatta marble, whose veins recall the same marble on the floor. The bow dining area features a 12-guest table with onyx centerpiece, lit by a rich chandelier explicitly requested by the owner.

The falling flight of stairs leaving the lobby is flanked by a wall entirely clothed with Studioart leather, geometrically decorated. On the yard-proposed version, the main deck leads on to the owner’s suite and its special entrance dressing. The highlight here is an electrically powered folding balcony, for the owners to enjoy a sense of owning the sea around them.

mangusta overmarine yachts

The suite is connected to the upper deck by the skylights on the pool’s bottom, filtering down the shade of water and natural light. The bathroom, wrapped in calacatta marble, hosts a huge central shower as well as a bathtub. The suite, in the yard-proposed version, is equally decorated in warm delicate shades; painted motives on the ceiling vaguely recall the movements of the clouds.

The lower deck is the guests’ one, providing accommodation in four double rooms: two Vip and two twin bedded, with a third pullman berth. Mangusta Oceano 44 is a fully enjoyable worldwide yacht, scenting the ocean thanks to her remarkable performances. Powered by two 1700cv/ 1268kw at 2450 rev/min MTU 12V 2000 M86, she easily reaches 16-knot maximum speed.

A 4500-mile range is guaranteed at cruising speed of 11 knots. Zero-speed stabilizers ensure perfect comfort both at anchor and while sailing. The ship’s second unit is designed for the US, expected delivery Summer 2024. “The new Oceano 44 dramatically strengthens the yard’s presence overseas”, says Mangusta of Americas President Stefano Arlunno, in charge of the sale with HMY Ale Navarro. “Mangusta is now represented by their three product lines, with a growing number of steel yachts” For further information Mangusta

Mangusta (Overmarine) Yachts for charter

Browse our selection of some of the finest Mangusta (Overmarine) yachts for charter on the market today.

Italian shipyard Mangusta is known for building muscular, powerful yachts that combine thrilling sport performance with streamlined Italian style. Launched by the Balducci family in 1985, Mangusta is still family owned and operated today as part of the Overmarine Group , with its headquarters in Viareggio, Italy. Mangusta was named after the mongoose — fast, agile, and whip-smart. Balducci set out to do things differently at Mangusta, and the brand continues to evolve with the market. Today, Mangusta has three ranges in its fleet: Mangusta Maxi Opens (30m-50m), the Mangusta Gransport (33m-54m), and the Mangusta Oceano (39m-60m). More than 300 Mangusta yachts have been launched since the company’s inception, and they build in steel, aluminium, and composite.

The Yachts That Make Mangusta (Overmarine) Great

Mangusta shot to prominence in the 90’s with the iconic Mangusta 80. Up until that moment, ‘open yachts ’ had never combined this size, speed and level of luxury, and this bold, perfectly executed power move catapulted Mangusta to become a global yachting name. This launch would begin Mangusta’s Maxi Open era, an incredibly popular line which continues today, culminating in the Maxi Open 165. In 2016, it was time to expand into a different direction, with Mangusta launching its first tri-deck Mangusta Oceano yacht, a full-displacement superyacht with a phenomenal range of 5,000 nm and a top speed of 16 knots. More recently, a new line was launched that bridges the gap between speed and range. The powerful, aggressively styled Mangusta Gransport has transatlantic range of up to 4,200nm and an impressive top speed of 29 knots. Mangustas have a strong, distinctive character to go with their strong, distinctive looks, and include stunning Italian styling and spectacular features such as deck pools and beach clubs.

Mangusta’s shipbuilding enterprise takes place over three Tuscan shipyards, totalling 190,000sqm. The Pisa yard focuses on metal fabrication, with facilities for several motoryachts up to 70m to be built simultaneously, and the Mangusta Oceano and Mangusta Gransport lines are largely built at this location. Viareggio houses the Mangusta headquarters, Creative Department and Technical Department, and this shipyard is mainly dedicated to building Mangusta Maxi Open models. Composite yacht-building facilities are found at Mangusta’s third yard at Massa.

The Balducci family founded Mangusta in 1985, choosing a symbolic and meaningful name for the company. At the time, the leading brand for open, fast sailing vessels was Cobra by Tecnomarine. Named after the mongoose – the only animal that can tackle and defeat cobras – Mangusta clearly set out to challenge the status quo.

Giuseppe Balducci was born in Limite sull’Arno, a nautical town in Tuscany. He began his career working in a historic shipyard in Viareggio, but his entrepreneurial spirit and his talent for capturing market trends soon spurred him to look for more. Thus Elettromare, Effebi and, later, the Overmarine Group were born. The family-owned and family-managed business now includes Giuseppe’s children, Maurizio and Katia Balducci. We are a team deep rootly in our Italian heritage, always loyal to our original values, yet able to keep our gaze aimed towards the future.

OVERMARINE GROUP/MANGUSTA

Since the beginning of its journey, Mangusta revolutionized yachting with its innovations. In the 1990s, the company launched the Mangusta 80. Up until that moment, “open” yachts had never reached 80 feet in length and, most importantly, had always forced buyers to compromise between speed and space, sportiness and comfort. Mangusta changed that forever, building a large, high-performance sports yacht that was exceptionally comfortable and liveable. The Mangusta 80 was a huge success, leaving its mark in history and making the brand known all over the world. It was the beginning of Maxi Open! Over the years, models grew even bigger. Their streamlined, sporty lines make them timeless classics – true icons in their field.

Visionaries by nature, Mangusta's engineers continue to achieve new heights in yacht design and performance. In recent years, the company had developed two new lines. In 2016, we introduced the first tri-deck yacht in the Mangusta Oceano line: displacement vessels with great range that allow you to travel the world in style, to any destination and across any distance. More recently, the new Mangusta GranSport line launched, setting a new benchmark by merging top performances and transoceanic range. Mangusta’s story continues, with a fleet destined to grow.

Production facilities of Overmarine Group are located in Tuscany near Massa, Viareggio and Pisa, the company's various production sites total approximately 190,000 square metres and closely control every step entailed in building a new yacht. Unlike many Italian shipyards that outsource the production of hulls to subcontractors, Overmarine manufactures the hulls of its yachts independently, testing them in the most modern test pools in cooperation with leading experts in the field of hydrodynamics. Safe achievement of high speeds (40-50 knots) for yachts of such sizes (22-50 m) is technically a very difficult task, so Mangusta has almost no competitors in its segment. Overmarine has been developing and implementing the most advanced technologies for the design and construction of high-speed yachts for decades, and each of them (during the existence of the shipyard, more than 300 hulls have been launched) can be modified in the field of planning and design to the owner's taste.

The new design for the Mangusta Gran Sport line was developed by the designer Alberto Mancini. He was also responsible for the look of the Mangusta Oceano displacement with a length of 45-60 m with a hull of steel and superstructure of aluminum. Despite the fact that this is a fundamentally different class of yachts, not designed for speed records, in its light swift lines the heritage of Mangusta is recognized unmistakably.
