Great to have something that goes over everything if a quick solution is required had ordered one on amazon before, received the wrong size received the correct size now :) A simple moulded part of good quality, supplied quickly and well packed. Turned out that I had ordered the wrong make, my camcleats being Allen not Harken, however by drilling the two fixings holes out by 1mm and filing two small notches they fitted perfectly. Super helpful company. Attentive, and quick to deliver. Second time I have use for this purpose. Really easy to attach to alloy mast and so easy and positive to operate. We have put the boat on this trolley but not yet used it for launch and recovery. First impressions are very good, It fits together well and is super easy to assemble - it's made to put together and take apart fast if you want to put it in a vehicle etc. It is very lightweight which should be a boon launching and recovering the boat - at the same time it looks strong and well made. Being aluminium we won't have a rust problem either. I was impressed how it fits perfectly wherever it supports the boat. So assuming it performs well in use we are pleased we got this. Very helpful guy on the phone and it came quickly so all good, thanks, Good service, and fast delivery. Very happy with my large amount of assorted short lengths of rope of many different thicknesses for practising my knots. Good quality rope that can be spliced. Excellent sail, ideal for training and comes with a sailbag, Our only drawback was the long delivery time (2-3 weeks) and having to pay €90 in customs charges all due to Brexit! My Topper sails infinitely better with this new sail, , much faster, came with strap and eye at head, had to unpick and remove the strap to work with my halyard loop. I took advantage of the offcut sale to try out some of the more expensive ropes for my limited needs. I have not seen this kind of offer before, and I was able to find some lengths and qualities I would not normally worry about. Great service and sensible prices. Customer focused offers. I also plan to use some of the offcuts to improve my whipping and splicing. Does my son know he is being towed down the Thames with a rope that would be on the more expensive yachts with a breaking strength well over what we need, no. Halyard lines for a rudder capri 16.5
OldskoolguyPutting the rudder down all the way is a two hand operation. I to push the rudder down and 1 to tighten the wing nut. Has anyone done a mod to install a couple of line to lift and deploy this rudder on a Catalina 16.5. The hand drawing I got off the site and picture of the rudder attached. Thanks. I have a '72 Catalina 22 that has a kick-up rudder and no matter how tight I got the hold-down, it still wanted to rise a little. Catalina Direct sells a nylon pin / bolt that goes through the rudder and the casing. It's supposed to keep it locked down unless you hit something, then the pin is supposed to break. I didn't have the corresponding holes in my rudder, so I just drilled it. Added some epoxy to the hole, let it cure and then re-drilled to make sure I wasn't going to be letting water get in. It's been that way for 3 or 4 seasons now and we haven't missed the kick-up feature. When we launch, the stern is usually deep enough that the rudder's not going to hit anything. Same when we put it back on the trailer.  Leeward RailYou may not need 2 lines. The rudder blade will likely want to pop up on its own, even when stationary, if the blade is buoyant. Easy enough to do the same as the drawing. Clam cleat, small block and rope. I had a 16ft dinghy that had that setup from factory, ages ago. Worked well enough. As @ShawnL mentions...just make sure you seal any added holes in the rudder blade so it doesn't rot internally. (Assuming it has a wood core) Search for "potting holes in fiberglass" for an explanation on how to do that. The delays have meant some passengers have spent months living on the docked cruise ship — with no sail date in sight.  Dr. David Austin, who sold his house in Georgia to set sail, said he had long “stopped counting down” the days until the ship is finally ready. “The payoff of seeing the world in this fashion is too great to feel too disappointed with each delay announcement,” he said. “I was committed, having sold my house right before my arrival, and I’ve stayed committed to this adventure with every delay.” It wasn’t immediately clear how many passengers were currently stuck living on the docked ship. After first encountering the technical issues, the cruise liner sent the majority of passengers off on other cruises, or flew them home to wait for a new departure date. Holly Hennessey, a Florida native, said she is among those who have unexpectedly “hunkered down” on board because she is traveling with her cat and is unable to come and go from Belfast while she waits for the ship to be ready. “We can spend all day aboard the ship and they provide shuttle buses to get on and off,” Hennessey said. “We can have all of our meals and they even have movies and trivia entertainment, almost like cruising except we’re at the dock.”  Angela and Stephen Theriac, of Nicaragua, said they’ve already settled in with the locals due to the delays. “We keep teasing we will apply for residency here in Belfast,” Angela said. “We have eaten in every restaurant and had a Guinness in every pub,” her husband added. The voyage, billed as the first round-the-world residential cruise, allows passengers to buy a cabin outright or pay as you go for the various legs of the three-year cruise.  The cost of a cabin ranges from $99,999 to $899,000, according to the cruise’s website. if the rudder just fell off the pindles you could fix it by a split pin ,ring ect through 1 of the pindles if the pindles fell off the boat well thats uncommon sillicone & screws will fix all. The pintles on the rudder slipped out of the gudgeons on the stern. The rudder lift stop on the stern didn't do its job.

The radial, with it's smaller mast and sail area, is better suited for smaller sailor, beginners, or sailing in windy venues.
