Each member of our team has some experience with sailing regattas. Paying tribute to this experience and given the high expectations of high comfort on board for this list, we gave the 5th place to the Dufour 61 monohull sailing yacht in our list.

No one argues that it is difficult to provide comfort comparable to the capabilities of catamarans or trimarans on a monohull yacht. But, in our opinion, Dufour Yachts did what it could to achieve maximum possible comfort for the crew and passengers on their new racing cruiser.

Luxury that strives for simplicity - that’s what Dufour 61 is about. First off, you get a luxurious transom with a platform and a capacious locker where a dinghy fits perfectly, and look at this ladder with wide steps! And we haven't even climbed into the cockpit yet. Remember - we are talking about a single-hull sailboat with a hull length of just over 18 m.

Two control stations with helms with dashboards behind them, on which, in addition to the usual displays, the screens of 12-inch Raymarine chartplotters are placed. Such a double post and folding wings that transform into seats are already becoming an integral part of Dufour's DNA, just like the awning over the entire cockpit protecting from rain or sun. Although, this is still an optional feature.

There is enough space in the cockpit to move freely and relax or dine at a fold-out table or at a second table located along the transom, using the facilities of a small deck galley. You can put mattresses with backs on the seat. Pay attention to how conveniently the winches are located. There is a hydraulic backstay tensioner next to the helm.

Another control post is located in the cabin. Sitting at the skipper's table, you can work and at the same time watch the sails through these ceiling (deck?) portholes. The saloon is furnished with comfortable upholstered furniture and an incredible table that, with the help of a person, can perform miracles of transformation. From a coffee table, it can turn into an extra bed or grow into a large dining table.

More than 10 people can easily fit around the table in the saloon, and although the yacht is designed for a maximum of 9 beds, according to the layouts, don’t forget about the possibility of extra beds in the cabin.

The official cabin options offer options for:

• 3 cabins with three bathrooms for 8 people;
• 4 cabins with 4 bathrooms for 9 people with longitudinal galley;
• 4 cabins with 4 bathrooms for 9 people with a U-shaped galley.

In all variations, the master cabin of Dufour 61 remains unchanged, with comfort approaching the luxury inherent in cabins on catamarans.

The rest of the cabins are more modest, depending on the purpose, the same island double beds as in the master cabin can be installed there, or two separate berths can be equipped.

The forepeak accommodates a crew cabin with berths, a separate shower, washbasin and toilet.

The rig area is 170 m² (mainsail – 104 m², genoa – 66 m²) and engine power is 180 hp – these are the proofs that the developers from Felci Yacht Design did not sacrifice the seaworthiness of a sailing racer when creating comfortable living conditions on board the Dufour 61.

Neel 65 Trimaran

We could not fail to mention almost the only trimaran that meets the requirements of the list. Sailing trimaran Neel 65 from Neel Trimarans takes the 5th place. The shipyard presented its take on a cruising yacht in "Sport-Chic" mode. Why, in this case, the flagship of the line and the only trimaran in the ranking took second place... from the end? The general opinion of the team was: a lot of chic, but not enough sport.

Sure, the choice of sailing equipment is impressive: a mainsail of 374 m², furling genoa of 305 m², self-locking twisting staysail - 130 m², and gennaker of 525 m². How else can you budge a hulk whose displacement at half load is 22.5 tons?

The original solution of combining the saloon and cockpit deserves attention. For this huge space, the developers have come up with a new term - cockloon.

The descent into the technical compartment in the central float is carried out directly from the saloon, pardon, directly from that part of the cockloon that can be considered saloon. You enter huge engine room with Volvo engines Penta 40 hp. There is also a boiler, watermaker , generator, air conditioner, 600-liter tanks for water and fuel, as well as shelves for various equipment, spare parts, tools and materials. Judging by the volume of tanks and the presence of a watermaker, the autonomy of the trimaran is excellent. The same section is also used as a bicycle garage.

A galley with an almost circular layout is also located in the saloon. There is enough space for 2-3 people, especially since the work surfaces are divided into zones - with a hob, a sink, zone for cutting food, zone for serving it. The galley is fully equipped with all the necessary equipment, including a dishwasher, refrigerators and freezers, which again brings us back to the well-solved problem of the autonomy of the vessel.

Neel 65 is designed for a maximum of a master cabin placed on the upper deck, and 4 cabins in floats for 8 berths.

The master cabin with a large island bed is equipped with plenty of storage space. Natural light enters through a large porthole. The cabin has a full bathroom with all amenities.

The aft and bow cabins are also quite roomy and filled with natural light through the side and ceiling windows. The latter are also used for natural ventilation.

By the way, all the cabins, even the bow cabins, are of surprisingly decent height, when compared with the bow cabins of catamarans, and even more so of monohulls. The bow cabins have a round opening porthole, a lavatory with guest access and a large closet.

The forepeak can also accommodate crew if all cabins are occupied by passengers.

On the stairs from the cabins leading to the skipper's station, there is a panel of electrical equipment and electronics. The post is equipped with communication facilities, a table for working with maps, a chartplotter , etc. A magnificent view opens through the panoramic glazing of the entire cockloon.

The bow is equipped with nets. It seemed to us that it was not safe enough for people to stay here, or was not originally intended for this.

We found another weak point of this trimaran, which is often observed in some models of catamarans. If you are less than two meters tall, you will not see the left float from the helm station. But if you lean low enough, then you will have an overview of it.

In other respects, the electronics of the control post are thought out to the smallest detail. Behind the helm there is a panel with navigational instruments, and nearby, at arm's length – winches and throttle. Standing at its helm, you can feel like a space pilot, because it is able to provide a cruising speed of up to 20 knots. Nevertheless, Neel 65 feels more like a luxury yacht than a sporty vessel - you feel like nothing can go wrong with your voyage, so it’s not exactly an option for thrill-seekers.

Fountain Pajot Samana 59

This is one of Fountaine Pajot’s flagship models - the heir of the Ipanema 58 and the natural development of the brand’s lineup., which includes models such as Alegria 67 , Astrea 42 , Elba 45 , Saona 47, Isla 40 .

It is not surprising, that the Samana 59 cruising sailing catamaran, with a width of 9.5 m, is similar in silhouette to the Alegria 67. Both yachts were designed by the same team of naval architects Berret-Racoupeau Yacht Design.

They succeeded in their task of providing the same comfort on a 59-foot yacht as on her predecessor worth more than two million, but not at the expense of seaworthiness.

TopRik experts believe that Berret-Racoupeau Yacht Design has coped with the task so well that it deserves to be right in the middle of our list.

First, when you look at the wide ladder steps and a powerful platform with a hydraulic drive, capable of holding a weight of almost half a ton, you begin to doubt that this 18-meter boat can show cruising properties. But familiarity with its sailing rig and engines removes this prejudice.

This boat with the vibes of a superyacht is equipped by default with two engines with a capacity of 110 hp, optionally - 150 hp. The sail area, which includes the mainsail and genoa, is 117 + 87 m². Fuel tanks of 1200 liters make it possible to navigate autonomously over long distances.

You can tailor this cat to suit your needs using the Samana 59's versatility and its many areas for relaxing, sunbathing, swimming and eating:

• 4 cabin layout options;
• flybridge with an area of 30 m²;
• cockpit area of 27.5 m²;
• foredeck with an area of 10 m²;
• dining areas in the cockpit, saloon and flybridge;
• relaxation areas, solariums on the flybridge, foredeck, saloon and cockpit;
• modular deck chairs and trampolines, deck chairs and mattresses in the cockpit and on the bow deck;
• fully equipped galley in 2 versions in the saloon or in the float, galley and refrigeration equipment on the flybridge and plancha in the cockpit;
• 2 options for the bar area.

The yacht provides plenty of storage space for a motorized inflatable dinghy , folding bikes, diving and spearfishing equipment, clothes, books and other things that you may need on board for a long cruise. It also increases the comfort of sailing, as you can take everything that you are used to using on land, except for a car and your own office. Well, actually... The owner's cabin has enough space, a desk and the necessary connection to organize a makeshift office. But we hope that you will use your master cabin for relaxation - it has all it takes for that.

In different configuration options, the developers have provided for the possibility of placing from 4 to 6 cabins:

• Lounge Maestro (galley downstairs): owner's cabin with bathroom (photo above), 2 double cabins with bathrooms each, bunk bed cabin with bathroom (children love this option).
• Maestro (galley above): 1 owner's cabin with bathroom, 4 double cabins with bathrooms each.
• 5 cabin charter version (downstairs galley): 4 double cabins and 6 bathrooms, bunk bed cabin and bathroom.
• 6 cabin charter version (galley above): 6 double cabins with ensuite bathrooms each.

The engine room is a fairly roomy compartment, where you can go down through the hatch in the cockpit, with good access to the Volvo Penta engines.

A spiral ladder leads to the flybridge, where the helm station is located. It looks quite organic in this huge space filled with sun loungers, sofas, sun loungers and a small galley.

Particularly impressive is the 22-inch marine display on the control console, which is located just behind the helm. Here you can take full control of: the anchor winch with windlass, thruster, throttles, radio station and electric winches on both sides of the helm. Everything is so conveniently located that an experienced skipper can handle the Samana 59 alone.

Another working area is located in the cabin - this is the navigator's table, where the readings of the operation of all equipment are displayed, as well as the chartplotter screen.

Well, by handing over the reins to the autopilot or assistant, the skipper can always relax in a good company and in a good place, for example, on the foredeck.

Lagoon Sixty 7 (Lagoon 67)

Let's not hide the fact that the team has some Lagoon boats fans, including both sailing and motorized options. Thanks to their “lobbying”, the motor catamaran Lagoon Sixty 7, or Lagoon 67 came to the second place in the list at high cruising speed.

As you can see, the continuity in this model is preserved by the efforts of the same team of VPLP naval architects and interior designers from Nauta Design. The task they had was not an easy one: to retain the comfort of Lagoon Seventy 8. Keep in mind, the difference in the length of the yachts is close to 5 meters.

And yet the developers have managed to strike the perfect balance between luxury and performance, packing it all into a 20 m boat that provides almost the same comfort as on the Seventy 8.

As a result of their creative and engineering thought, you can become the owner of a 5-star hotel suite of three levels, with the following elements of luxury and comfort:

• the ability to choose interior decoration - natural walnut, mahogany or white oak veneer;
• high-quality textiles made from natural materials for upholstery, curtains, bedspreads, bedding and tableware, etc.;
• comfortable spacious cabins (16 m² master cabin) with private bathrooms, the configuration of which is determined by the buyer;
• a full galley of 12 m² in the saloon, fully equipped with everything you need, as well as additional mini galleys in the cockpit and on the flybridge;
• king island beds size, chic sofas, deck chairs on all decks;
• standard and optional complete set of equipment to ensure a comfortable life in long autonomous navigation.

From the cockpit you can go to a private beach spot, which is provided by a platform with wide steps of the transom. Here you can also attach a boat, jet ski, surfboards or kites.

A very wide sliding door connects the cockpit with the saloon, and the resulting huge space allows you to move freely throughout the resulting lounge area.

In the cabin, the space is divided into recreation areas and workers. The first group includes sofas around a coffee table and the second group of sofas around a full dining table.

The working area includes a navigational control post with a table, a chartplotter and other equipment and communication devices.

The saloon has circular glazing, so there is sufficient natural light and a 360-degree panoramic view.

Using the configuration options for cabins, the future owner can create the configuration of his Lagoon Sixty 7 himself – it is available with 3, 4, 5 and 6 cabins. In the left float there is a full-fledged galley with all the necessary equipment. For the 6-cabin option, the 12 m² galley will be moved to the saloon.

A luxurious master cabin is an owner's privilege. Here, in addition to the king island bed size there is a large set of furniture - cabinets, shelves, a sofa, a work table and a dressing table. It is so large that it does not even fit completely in one panoramic photo.

The owner also has a large bathroom with all the elements for hygiene and care.

Guest cabins are also quite comfortable, spacious and equipped with storage space. Each guest cabin has its own bathroom with all the necessary amenities for taking water treatments, as well as a separate toilet.

Lagoon Sixty 7 continues the shipyard's trend of offering superyacht standards to an even wider range of yachtsmen.

Fountain Pajot Power 67

Motorized version of the Fountaine Pajot’s sailing catamaran Alegria 67 is the leader in the ranking of the most comfortable yachts up to 3 million euro.

Hey, what’s this?! Is that a Jacuzzi over there on the foredeck? Well, yes. Yet having it on Fountaine Pajot’s Power 67 is not required - it is an optional option. After you have breathed a sigh of relief (it’s additional 3 tons of water off your shoulders!) we will continue to talk about this incredible motor catamaran with a length of almost 20 m, a width of almost 10 m and a displacement of 31 tons.

For many, this is a dream come true for maximum comfort on a cruise trip without a dress code and other conventions of a superyacht, but with its feel: spacious rooms and recreation areas with a luxurious interior and ease of operation, which can always (well, almost) be delegated to an autopilot or crew.

Another addition to the mix is the maximum safety for passengers and crew, which is typical for most catamarans that are not intended for racing. Please note that there are no nets in the bow, like on a sailing catamaran. For them, the absence of a hard overlap serves to ensure that the boat does not bounce with the wave. This is not necessary on a powerboat, since the weight is redistributed differently, in particular due to the lack of a mast with sails and due to large fuel reserves. It is clear that the floats provide high stability of the cat due to the thoughtful distribution of the entire mass of equipment, furniture and equipment that they carry.

The Power 67 is ideal for both personal and commercial use. Whether you want to get lost in the ocean for half a year in the most comfortable conditions, or regularly provide your family or friends with an amazing sea trip in luxurious conditions, this is your model.

If you are a business owner, this yacht can accommodate up to 16 passengers and provide them with maximum comfort and a superyacht feel throughout a long autonomous voyage.

There are 2 fillers on each side, with standard tanks allowing for 4 kiloliters of fuel (same as the sailing version), and another 2000 liters are added on top, which ensures a decent autonomy of the cat.

And if outside the vessel is completely identical to Alegria 67, then the underwater part of the transom, invisible to us, has been upgraded for the sake of speed, specifically for the motor version of the yacht.

The very roomy engine compartment accommodates two 480 hp Volvo Penta engines. When fully loaded (excluding jacuzzi!) with these engines, the cat can reach a maximum speed of 18 knots, and cruising speed will be 10-12 knots. A planing boat at this speed will bounce on the wave, scour and dive with its bow. But the catamaran will move like it’s on rails.

In the same compartment there are filters, two washing machines, as well as a batch switch with a voltage output of 220 and 12 V.

There are two synchronized diesel generators, the second one is connected only when necessary, which saves electricity consumption.

In the photo above, you could see a great bathing area that the platform and wide lower steps of the ladder provide. If these steps are used as a beach, the platform can carry a 4.5 m motor dinghy, a jet ski or kites - the platform can withstand a weight of 450 kg. The height of the platform can be adjusted too.

But let's finally go up to the cockpit.

Plenty of comfortable seating and loungers with lockers underneath, a fold out table and a galley with plancha or grill, sink and fridge.

On the transom there is a wonderful device from Volvo - a joystick that helps with mooring by interacting with the thruster, propellers and feathers of the rudders. The same joystick is also on the flybridge, at the steering station. Considering the dimensions of the cat, this mooring system is very useful, especially for those who prefer to be alone in the ocean.

On both sides of the cockpit, doors rising up lead to the cabins - the guest cabin and the owner's cabin. The master cabin is comparable to a hotel room and has all the amenities, including a private bathroom.

The aft and bow guest cabins also have large beds, storage space, portholes for natural light and private bathrooms.

If the cat is purchased for charter flights, the crew can be accommodated in the forepeak - there is enough space for a bed and a bathroom.

The Samana 67 catamaran can accommodate 14 people in 7 cabins, and all cabins will be provided with a full bathroom with some differences in volumes.

As you can see, manipulations with the partitions allow you to choose the option of completing the cabins in strict accordance with the wishes of the buyer.

It remains to climb the flybridge, but on the way there we will look into the saloon. This huge space is divided into three zones: recreation, dining and work.

Unusual freedom of movement and spaciousness even for cat, the feeling of which is enhanced by wide sliding doors to the cockpit. The window above one of the galley tables is also sliding, through which you can serve food and drinks from the galley to the cockpit.

A large and comfortable control station of Power 67 includes a chart table with a panel displaying the screen of the chartplotter and other tools.

The second helm station is located on the flybridge - we get there by climbing a comfortable staircase from the cockpit, which it can be clearly seen in the first photo above behind the door. Like the saloon, the flybridge has a clear division into zones.

The seating area has sofas and loungers, a convertible table, a small galley and a refrigerator, which allows you to organize an outdoor dining experience.

The control post is moved forward on the starboard side. Behind the navigator's seat, designed for two people, there is a lounger from where you can observe the controls.

The helm is similar to the steering wheel of a car. Immediately behind it is a panel with multifunctional marine displays and other instruments. To the right of the navigator there is a joystick - a double of the one in the cockpit, to facilitate mooring.

That was the summary of all the features of this luxurious and comfortable cottage on the water for a family cruise or a trip with close friends. Even though it’s full of amenities, it is also extremely efficient in terms of fuel consumption, and also does not require a large crew, which makes it profitable for those who organize charters.

The hull is made of fibreglass. Generally, a hull made of fibreglass requires only a minimum of maintenance during the sailing season.

The boat is equipped with 1341.0 liter fresh water capacity.

The boat is typically equipped with dual inboard MAN D2848 LE406 diesel engines at 1300.0 hp (968 kW).

The fuel tank has a capacity of 4545.0 liters (1200 US gallons, 999 imperial gallons).

Sailing characteristics

The largest yachts attending the Monaco Yacht Show 2024

The highlight of the superyacht calendar, every year the Monaco Yacht Show attracts the latest and greatest builds from around the world. Over 20 entries in the 50-metre-plus range have already been confirmed, with the show set to return to Port Hercule from 25 to 28 September.

BOAT takes a closer look at the biggest yachts both in the port and at anchor, beginning with a behemoth from German shipyard Lürssen ...

Length : 122m Builder : Lürssen

This year's headliner is also one of the industry's latest deliveries. Kismet was handed over to her owner Shahid Khan in May 2024, who previously owned the 95.2-metre Lürssen yacht Whisper (formerly Kismet ). His new yacht reunites him with Reymond Langton Design for the interior, but the exteriors on the new build have been helmed by Nuvolari Lenard . She's now one of the world's most expensive yachts for charter , asking a staggering €3,000,000 per week with Cecil Wright & Partners . And no wonder, with a helipad, beauty salon, indoor and outdoor cinema, dance floor and gym at guests' fingertips.

Length : 90.1m Builder : Oceanco

Luiz de Basto first dreamt up Dar ' s sinuous, shark-inspired design eight years before her delivery, while seated in his Miami office overlooking Biscayne Bay. Dar features around 390 square metres of glass in her superstructure alone, not counting the doors and hull windows. Once inside, the result is said to be like floating in mid air. Standout features include an owner's deck – complete with private saloon and Jacuzzi – as well as a wellness area, with Hammam, sauna and massage room. She won Motor Yacht of the Year at the 2019 World Superyacht Awards and was recently selected to be BOAT International 's charter yacht of the week . The superyacht is making her return to the Monaco Yacht Show after first appearing in Port Hercule shortly after delivery. 

Dar is asking €208,000,000 with Large Yacht Corp .

Length : 78.4m Builder : Abeking & Rasmussen

Chandeliers, Macassar ebony furniture and custom floral panels: Amaryllis is a five-deck superyacht best known for her dazzling display of Reymond Langton -designed Art Deco decor. She can sleep twelve guests across six cabins, including an owner's cabin with a clawfoot bed, lime marble en suite and 180-degree ocean views. Standout features include a piano lounge and a cinema suite, while her beach club boasts a dedicated spa with a sauna, steam room, plunge pool and massage room. Amaryllis last underwent a major refit in 2019 and will be looking fresh on the docks during the 2024 Monaco Yacht Show. 

Amaryllis is asking €89,000,000 with Moravia Yachting .

Length : 77.8m    Builder: Amels

Tasked with a brief to "defy convention and find ways to connect with the ocean", naval architect Espen Øino and interior designer François Zuretti came together to create Energy . The design duo first worked together on Blohm & Voss ' 74.5-metre Eco , now Zeus , with Martin Francis in the 1980s. The superyacht has an impressive volume of 2,885GT which houses accommodation for 14 guests, an upper deck aft pool, a spacious gym, a large beach club with spa and a glass elevator, to name a few. She has only been used privately since new and was recently selected as BOAT International 's brokerage boat of the month .

Energy is POA with Burgess .

Length : 73.3m    Builder : SilverYachts

Dragonfly was hailed as the fastest, most fuel-efficient long-range cruiser when she was delivered in 2009, with a transatlantic range of 22 knots. Her streamlined exterior and elongated bow sprung from the boards of Espen Øino , while her rich, ambient interiors are by Danielo Silvestrin . Dragonfly 's outdoor cinema, large sunpad that can convert into a dance floor and swim platform – dubbed the "ultimate toy launchpad" by the broker – are the major crowd pleasers. She was also commended for her contribution to the disaster relief effort in Vanuatu after Hurricane Pam devastated the island in 2015.

Dragonfly is asking €27,000,000 with Y.CO .

Planet Nine

Length : 73.2m Builder: Admiral - The Italian Sea Group

Admiral's Planet Nine boasts an ice-classed steel hull, a range of 6,000 nautical miles and a bold, militaristic exterior by British designer Tim Heywood . Her interiors were custom built by German luxury outfitter Fitz and feature accommodation for up to 16, including an owner's suite with balconies and a VIP cabin with a private outdoor space on the bridge deck. Exterior and interior relaxation options are also plentiful, including a large beach club designed for use in both warm and cool climates and a sundeck spa pool. Planet Nine recently underwent a comprehensive refit and is best known to the public for her starring role in Christopher Nolan's time-bending thriller Tenet . She will be the largest explorer yacht attending the Monaco Yacht Show.

Planet Nine is asking €79,500,000 with Fraser .

Length : 62m Builder : Viareggio Superyachts (VSY)

Another Espen Øino design, Sealion accommodates 12 guests across six cabins, including an owner's suite with a raised layout for panoramic views and"spa-like features", including a Jacuzzi tub. Meanwhile, a cinema room in the skylounge and her two-level sundeck – complete with a bar, Jacuzzi, sunpads and mist options – are ready to entertain guests. The superyacht's previous name, Candyscape II,  alludes to her eclectic interiors courtesy of Candy & Candy studio . Highlights include a spectacular Schimmel glass grand piano in the main saloon and an ornate glass lift that links the lower deck to the bridge deck. She was recently selected as BOAT International 's charter yacht of the week .

Sealion is POA with Denison Yachting .

Length : 61.5m Builder : Sanlorenzo

Making an appearance at the Monaco Yacht Show 2024, Lemon Tree was delivered in 2021 as the first Sanlorenzo 62Steel. What sets this superyacht apart is her owner's cabin, fitted with a private deck and pool and an adjoining sky lounge, which can be converted into a family cinema. Another highlight of this yacht is the large Hammam and beach club, which has openings on three sides and a glass ceiling that filters natural light through the pool. Accommodation is for a party of 14 guests in seven cabins – one of which can be turned into a massage room.

Lemon Tree is asking €59,500,000 with Y.CO .

Length : 60m Builder : Amels

Entourage won big this year, cinching a BOAT International Design & Innovation Award and a Neptune at the World Superyacht Awards . While the first hull in the series, Come Together , features distinctive geometric windows, the design team customised this second Amels 60 with long strips of glazing that allow additional light into the interior. Another noteworthy design choice is the extended bridge deck and sundeck which, first requested by the owner, has now been implemented in all subsequent builds. It was this "fantastic evolution" that swayed the judges, though they were also impressed by Entourage 's clever use of space, including her optimised storage.

Entourage is available to charter with Moran Yacht & Ship from €435,000 per week.

Length : 60m Builder : Lürssen

Another World Superyacht Awards winner, Caipirinha picked up the coveted Motor Yacht of the Year Award in 2010. She was designed by Espen Øino and Mark Berryman and has a "versatile" layout, according to the broker – including a formal saloon that can be converted to a cinema via a hidden screen and projector. Other highlights include a formal dining room for 14 guests and a sundeck arranged with a Jacuzzi, a gym, an onyx-topped bar and a casual lounge area. This is not her first yacht show appearance, but her German pedigree and impressive design credentials will make her worth a visit in Monte Carlo during the boat show. 

Caipirinha is asking $59,990,000 with Burgess . 

Pink Shadow

Length : 58m Builder : Damen Yachting

Delivered last summer, Pink Shadow is an eye-catching new entry in the SUV (Sports Utility Vessel) sector and the first unit in the Dutch shipyard's 58M Xplorer series. The superyacht is widely known for her richly coloured, eclectic Design Unlimited interiors, inspired by the Amazonian adventure-drama Fitzcarraldo . Highlights include a crocodile-teeth table, neon wall hangings and "The Habana Room", an upper deck cigar lounge made complete with a bespoke humidor. However, it was her fun, multi-functional exterior that won her a BOAT International Design & Innovation Award earlier this year. 

Diamond Binta

Length : 58m Builder : Tankoa Yachts

This full-custom superyacht was launched in late June, making her one of the newest entries on this list of yachts at the Monaco Yacht Show 2024. Diamond Binta was designed by long-time collaborator Francesco Paszkowski Design for a repeat Tankoa client, who previously owned the 50-metre Binta D'Or (now Sp1 ). Leisure highlights include a forward helideck, a large beach club with a spa and a sundeck set up with a gym and pool. A glass-encased corridor stretches from the beach club to the cabins directly through the engine room, offering a glimpse at the inner workings of the superyacht.

From About You Decor … Our design is a symbol of dawn and a distant endless horizon. Ahead is a long, happy life without any borders. An international couple, Pavel and Cherry, met in London and have been walking together for many years.

From the Bride, Cherry… My husband and I we decided to have our summer wedding in Moscow because the city is where his roots are. As we knew we were going to have the other wedding ceremony in China, we wanted our Moscow one to be very personal and intimate. We’ve known each other since we were fourteen, together with many of our friends whom we’ve also known for a decade.

I didn’t want to walk down the aisle twice so the plausibility of my request quickly came into discussion. The open pontoon stage was constructed in order to facilitate the bridal entrance on water, although there were concerns about safety as the last thing we wanted was probably a drowned bride before she could get on stage, picture that! I have to say on that day it wasn’t easy to get on the pontoon stage from the boat, in my long gown and high heels. Luckily my bridesmaids still noticed even though they stood the furthest from me on the stage, and helped me out without prior rehearsal. My girls could just tell whenever I needed a hand or maybe they were just so used to my clumsiness. Who knows 😂

We all love our photographer Julia! She’s so talented and her style is so unique. Our beloved host Alex is exceptional who made everyone laugh and cry. It was truly a blessing to have so many kind and beautiful souls on our big day. Thank you all!

From Sonya Khegay … It was the last day of April and still very cold in the morning. The weather forecast wasn’t pleasing and no one expected that the sun would come out, but miracles happen and light rain gave way to the warm rays.

I love how all the details went together, you could feel the harmony in everything throughout the entire wedding day from the morning until the fireworks.

A gentle look of the bride, elegant but so airy and unique decor, the fresh and light atmosphere of early spring and, of course, true happiness in the eyes. My heart becomes so warm from these memories, it is always a pleasure to see the birth of a new family of two loving hearts.

You really can’t go wrong with simple: a beautiful Bride , perfectly pretty petals , loved ones all around. But add in an amazing firework show  to cap off the night and simple just became downright extraordinary. Captured by Lena Elisseva , with assistance by  Katya Butenko , this rustic Russian celebration is simply fantastic. From Lena Eliseeva Photo …  This cozy and warm summer wedding of gorgeous Natalia and Anton was in the middle of June. The young couple decided to organize their wedding themselves, and the day was very personal and touching. I am absolutely in love with rustic outdoor weddings, and this one is my favourite because of the free and easy atmosphere.

All the decor excluding the bride’s bouquet was made by a team of ten friends of the bride and groom. And it was charming – a light and beautiful arch, eco-style polygraphy and succulents, candy-bar with caramel apples and berries – sweet joys of summer.

At the end of ceremony the guests tossed up white handkerchiefs embroidered by Natalia’s own hands.

From Lena Kozhina … When we met with the couple for the first time, we immediately paid attention to Dima’s behavior towards Julia. There was a feeling of tenderness and awe, and we immediately wanted to recreate this atmosphere of love, care and warmth on their Big Day.

Later, when we had chosen a green meadow and an uncovered pavilion overlooking a lake as the project site, it only highlighted a light summer mood with colorful florals and a great number of natural woods. The name of the site is Fox Lodge and peach-orange color, as one of the Bride’s favorites, set the tone for the whole design – from the invitations, in which we used images of fox cubs to elements of serving guest tables and other decorative elements with the corresponding bright accents.

The Unique Burial of a Child of Early Scythian Time at the Cemetery of Saryg-Bulun (Tuva)

In 1988, the Tuvan Archaeological Expedition (led by M. E. Kilunovskaya and V. A. Semenov) discovered a unique burial of the early Iron Age at Saryg-Bulun in Central Tuva. There are two burial mounds of the Aldy-Bel culture dated by 7th century BC. Within the barrows, which adjoined one another, forming a figure-of-eight, there were discovered 7 burials, from which a representative collection of artifacts was recovered. Burial 5 was the most unique, it was found in a coffin made of a larch trunk, with a tightly closed lid. Due to the preservative properties of larch and lack of air access, the coffin contained a well-preserved mummy of a child with an accompanying set of grave goods. The interred individual retained the skin on his face and had a leather headdress painted with red pigment and a coat, sewn from jerboa fur. The coat was belted with a leather belt with bronze ornaments and buckles. Besides that, a leather quiver with arrows with the shafts decorated with painted ornaments, fully preserved battle pick and a bow were buried in the coffin. Unexpectedly, the full-genomic analysis, showed that the individual was female. This fact opens a new aspect in the study of the social history of the Scythian society and perhaps brings us back to the myth of the Amazons, discussed by Herodotus. Of course, this discovery is unique in its preservation for the Scythian culture of Tuva and requires careful study and conservation.

I'm an American who's lived in Paris for almost three years. After all this time, I still had one thing on my bucket list: Tour the city by boat.

I took advantage of a good summer weather day and went on an hourlong tour with Vedettes de Paris that cost 20 euros, or about $22.

Over 15 million tourists are  set to flood the city this month for the Summer Olympics, and I'm not that interested in fighting through crowds on the streets. Luckily, the boat tour sails by several of Paris' most famous landmarks, so I thought it would be a good way to get my fix from a more comfortable distance.

Here's what it was like.

I made sure I had plenty of time to get to the boat.

I chose to sail on a 6:30 p.m. boat tour and booked my ticket the day before to save some time at the docks.

The tour company recommended arriving 20 minutes early — they start letting people on the boats about 15 minutes before. Because of the construction happening around the Paris Olympics , I gave myself plenty of time to get there.

Being early also allowed me to get a seat on the top deck, where I could enjoy the best view.

We left on time, and a few people missed the boat because they had arrived just a few seconds before departure.

I learned a lot in just one hour.

I've hesitated to go on the boat tour in the past because things like this tend to be very touristy. But I was surprised by how many iconic French monuments I saw and learned about in one hour.

Our path started at the Eiffel Tower and went past Notre Dame before turning around after the Arab World Institute. A live guide spoke about nearly all the monuments we passed in English and French — the company's app also provided translations in other languages.

I wasn't expecting to learn much since I've lived in Paris for a few years, but I actually really enjoyed the guide. The tour was very basic but a good starting point for learning more about a city with so much history.

Although some were slightly obscured, I spotted many of the city's major monuments.

The boat tour started with a history of the Eiffel Tower before passing by the Grand Palais and the Petit Palais. We also passed by the National Assembly, the Louvre Museum , and the French Academy.

Because of the preparations for the Olympics, some areas were slightly obscured by scaffolding. I was barely able to see the obelisk at Place de la Concorde as it was hidden behind stands.

I was also only able to quickly glance at other monuments like the Tour Saint-Jacques before they disappeared behind buildings.

My favorite part was seeing Notre Dame appear after going under a bridge.

Notre Dame is one of my favorite monuments, and seeing it appear as the boat came out from under a bridge was incredible. The cathedral is set to reopen in December after a damaging fire in 2019, and they've made a lot of progress on the restorations.

As we continued down the river, many people were having picnics and dancing by the Seine — a popular summertime activity in Paris . Our guide also pointed out the nearby La Tour d'Argent, a famous restaurant with a rooftop terrace.

I think I figured out how to make the tour even better next time.

Paris is one of the most beautiful cities in the world , and seeing it by boat felt very special. The boat was a bit crowded, and there were a lot of families and tourists, but that didn't interfere with my experience at all.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the tour. One thing I'd do differently next time is to go around sunset. If you time it right, you'll return as the Eiffel Tower starts sparkling, which happens on the hour after sunset every evening.

Whether you're on a budget or just looking for a good value, the boat tour is worth it. I definitely plan to take any visiting friends and family in the future.

Winger Lamine Yamal made history by becoming the youngest player ever to appear at a EURO against Croatia as Spain made light work of a tough group that also included holders Italy.

Teen sprinter sues Gatorade over doping ban that cost him an Olympic spot

Issam Asinga, a teenager who once beat Noah Lyles in a race, was elated when Gatorade honored him. Now he says the company is responsible for his banishment.

The fastest high school sprinter in history is suing Gatorade, claiming the company gave him a fraudulently certified product that contained a banned substance and led to his four-year banishment from track and field, costing him a chance to compete in the Paris Olympics .

Issam Asinga, the Surinamese teenager who set the under-20 world record in the 100 meters, said that when Gatorade honored him as its high school track and field athlete of the year in July 2023, it provided a gift basket that included Gatorade Recovery Gummies. In a lawsuit filed Wednesday, the 19-year-old Asinga claims those gummies are the reason he later tested positive for the banned substance GW1516, which led to a four-year ban this May and stripped him of his record. The suit further claims the company took measures to protect its reputation, damaging Asinga’s in the process.

Asinga filed suit in the Southern District of New York against Gatorade and Pepsi Co., its parent company. He is seeking, according to the lawsuit, to “recoup the millions of dollars he has lost in economic opportunities, as well as compensation for the devastating emotional harm he has suffered.”

In an emailed statement, a Gatorade spokesperson said: “The product in question is completely safe and the claims made are false. … Gatorade products are FDA compliant and safe for athlete consumption, which was validated by the findings of the Athletics Integrity Unit investigation.”

Were he eligible, Asinga could have competed for Suriname at the Paris Olympics, earning potentially millions on a sponsorship deal. Instead, he is banned from the Games and lost his endorsement opportunity. The suspension also will prohibit him from training with or competing his college teammates at Texas A&M, and despite support from his coaches, Asinga believes he could lose his scholarship.

“You’re either guilty or you’re not,” Asinga said in a Zoom interview alongside his lawyers. “I know I’m not, so I’ve got to chase my dream. I’ve got two Olympian parents; I was born to run. Am I going to destroy my dream because of something I didn’t do, or am I going to keep fighting until the end?”

‘I was honored when they told me to get tested’

Asinga grew up in Atlanta, went to a St. Louis boarding school, lived a couple of years in his mother’s native Zambia, went to high school in Florida and currently attends Texas A&M. He is the son of track and field Olympians: His mother, Ngozi, competed for Zambia, and his father, Tommy, once served as the flag bearer for Suriname.

By the summer of 2023, Asinga had become one of the world’s most promising track athletes. That April, he stunned the track world by beating world champion Noah Lyles in a 100-meter race in Florida with a wind-aided time of 9.83 seconds.

Asinga chose to compete under the flag of Suriname. In a Zoom interview Wednesday, as he described the effect of his son’s suspension on his home country, Tommy began to cry.

“I felt like I had more of an opportunity to make a difference running for Suriname,” Issam Asinga said. “In Suriname, the one thing that’s holding them back is the facilities. They don’t have someone who can make that difference. I can use whatever I do in my track career to help better this country.”

Gatorade named him its 2023 Florida boys’ track and field player of the year and invited him to a July 11 ceremony in Los Angeles. One month before the ceremony, according to the lawsuit, Asinga took a drug test that came back clean.

“I was honored when they told me to get tested,” Asinga said. “I was like, ‘Okay, bet!’ That’s how I know I’m going somewhere.”

At a gathering the day before the awards ceremony, Gatorade gave Asinga and other athletes a gift bag that included cherry-flavored Gatorade Recovery Gummies. The container was stamped as “NSF Certified for Sport.” NSF is an independent public health organization.

According to the lawsuit, Asinga’s mother texted Issam’s coach, Gerald Phiri, a photo of the ingredient label and asked, “Is this ok to eat[?]”

When Ngozi showed him a picture of the Gatorade logo, Phiri wrote back: “Oh yea these are both fine. Gatorade doesn’t make products that are against sporting rules.”

For the next two weeks, according to the lawsuit, Asinga took two gummies after his workouts. The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU), the drug-testing arm of World Athletics, tested him again July 18.

Asinga stopped taking the gummies “on or around” July 25, according to the lawsuit. On July 28, Asinga ran the 100 meters in 9.89 seconds at a meet in São Paulo, Brazil. This time, the wind was legal: He had broken the under-20 world record. The AIU tested him again on that day, and that July 28 test would come back clean.

On Aug. 9, 2023, the AIU informed Asinga he had failed the July 18 drug test. Picograms of GW1516 had been detected in his urine. When Asinga received the call, he said, he dropped to his knees in shock.

“It was devastating,” Asinga said. “It was the worst day of my life.”

Known as cardarine, GW1516 was originally developed as a potential treatment for obesity and alters how the body metabolizes fat, according the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency. It is illegal for use in food or medication. The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency notes in its handbook, “athletes should be aware, however, that dietary supplements may be contaminated with this compound.”

Asinga and his lawyer, Paul Greene, who specializes in defending athletes accused of performance-enhancing drug use, compiled a list of foods and supplements he had consumed that could be tested for GW1516. They included the Gatorade gummies.

“We kind of laughed it off,” Asinga said. “It was the last thing I would have thought this source would have been in. This brand is something I’ve looked up to my whole life. Gatorade is a part of sports.”

Asinga sent the gummies to the same lab, according to the lawsuit. On Oct. 26, 2023, according to the lawsuit, the lab notified the AIU that “preliminary findings” concluded the Gatorade gummies had been contaminated with GW1516.

When a company produces a dietary supplement that requires certification, it makes them in numbered lots so each lot can be tracked in case of contamination. By federal regulation, it must keep samples of each lot.

By AIU protocol, Asinga needed to obtain and submit a sealed bottle of the gummies from the same lot as his: No. 22092117150234. He contacted Gatorade to try to obtain a bottle of gummies from the appropriate lot. In late November 2023, according to the lawsuit, a Gatorade representative texted Asinga, “Okay so bad news, turns out we discontinued the gummies so we don’t have any more! … They may come back but sound[s] like we’ve had manufacturing issues!”

According to the lawsuit, further testing at the Utah lab confirmed not only the GW1516 contamination in the gummies Asinga had supplied; it also showed the same baseline concentration of GW1516 that had been detected in Asinga’s drug test. The chemical codes matched. The lab provided those analytical results to the AIU.

According to the AIU decision, the lab noted “two unusual aspects.” There was a “large discrepancy in the findings between the two containers of the Gatorade Recovery Gummies” and the contamination was present on the surface of the gummy rather than uniformly distributed.

The lab concluded “it was not possible to rule out deliberate adulteration of the product after it was opened,” the decision read.

Asinga’s lawyers said it defies belief that Asinga could have adulterated the gummies.

“All of them would have had to have been dipped individually in a formula that would have been watered to a trillionth of a gram,” Greene said. “An 18-year-old kid living in a dorm would have had to have done that. It’s almost laughable that that’s what he was accused of doing.”

According to the lawsuit, Asinga again contacted Gatorade and requested a sealed bottle from the 22092117150234 lot.

According to the lawsuit, Gatorade instead sent a bottle of recovery gummies to the AIU from a different lot. That lot had been tested by NSF and was accurately labeled as such, according to the lawsuit. The NSF, in a a public notice issued in early June, said the container in Asinga’s case came from an allotment it had not tested.

“They did a bait-and-switch,” said Alexis Chardon, the lawyer representing Asinga in court. “They said, ‘We don’t have a sealed supplement of the one we gave Issam. But we have this other one. Why don’t you take this one?’ That one was NSF tested. And then they let that lie fester.”

“Gatorade fully complied with the Athletics Integrity Unit investigation, including producing evidence that was accepted by the AIU that the gummies were not contaminated with the banned substance in their original ruling,” a Gatorade spokesperson said in an emailed statement.

When the AIU tested the gummies from that container, the results came back clean, according to the lawsuit. Once the AIU received those tests, it handed down its four-year ban to Asinga.

“Gatorade created, fed, and encouraged the false narrative that Issam was given ‘clean’ gummies and therefore Issam had adulterated the ones he got tested,” the lawsuit reads.

Attempting to restore a reputation

On June 14, less than two weeks after the NSF released its public notice about Gatorade, Asinga received what he hoped would be a breakthrough: A representative from the AIU called Greene and told him Gatorade had found and sent a sealed bottle from the same lot as Asinga’s bottle of recovery gummies. If that bottle was tainted with GW1516, it would be pivotal to overturning Asinga’s suspension.

The tests came back negative, according to the lawsuit.

Feeling “confused,” according to the lawsuit, Asinga contacted other athletes from the 2023 awards ceremony and found one who had a similar bottle of recovery gummies. When that bottle was tested for GW1516, according to the lawsuit, it also came back negative.

“For a while, it looked like we dug ourselves in deeper,” Chardon said.

According to the lawsuit, Asinga’s team had one more idea: On June 26, they asked for his original recovery gummies to be retested. They wondered whether the GW1516 had become undetectable over the previous six months.

On July 5, according to the lawsuit, the results came back: The gummies that once had tested positive now returned a negative result.

“Gatorade’s delay had cost Issam the possibility of proving contamination in a sealed container from the same lot he had ingested, robbing him of the possibility of ever meeting the AIU’s gold standard test for showing innocent ingestion of a banned substance,” the lawsuit reads.

In a statement, Gatorade said it “spent those months looking for the specific lot number in the field and, once sourced, immediately provided the product to the AIU.”

Because GW1516 is illegal, Greene said, scant testing has been done on it. Greene is hoping to organize lab tests that can prove GW1516 could become undetectable over the six months. He hopes to use that finding in his Court of Arbitration for Sport appeal later this year.

The lawsuit against Gatorade made Wednesday “one of the first days I can say I’m actually taking a deep breath and let it out a little bit,” Ngozi said. “As a parent, it’s so overwhelming. You never in a million years expect your child to be fighting for his character and his integrity because of something he didn’t do.”

Over the past month, Asinga lost his final glimmer of hope that he could run in the Paris Olympics. He has remained optimistic that he will sprint next year for Texas A&M. He has cried and felt depressed at times. Over the winter, he stopped practicing for several days and wondered whether track was worth it. He still believes he will prevail.

“It hurts,” Asinga said. “There’s been some bad days. The clouds might be over us. But they’re going to have to clear eventually.”
