We have recently purchased Dentino II from Sam Peters.  We initially contacted him through the website asking for more details, photos and videos about the boat. Sam was obliging and pleasant to deal with from the start.  There was nothing that seemed too much effort and he always replied to my messages and phone calls, even on weekends and after hours.  The offer did not go to plan but with Sam’s help and smart negotiation, we were able to put another offer forward.  The offer was accepted and we are now proud owners of the boat.  I will be seeing Sam next week to pick up the keys and paperwork before the boat is brought through to Christchurch. After several months of looking and two failed surveys, I have just completed the purchase of my first boat, a Jeanneau Merry Fisher 795. As a newcomer to boating I have to admit my first impression of boat brokers was pretty poor (compared to other industries I deal with) - descriptions were definitely on the optimistic side, boats were untidy, dirty and generally poorly presented. No excuses, just very poor sales and I would be careful who to list my boat with in the future. Then I came across Ancasta (Leo Walters) who shone bright like a beacon. The description of the boat was accurate, minor faults highlighted and extra pictures provided on request. Communications with Ancasta have been excellent, the boat was very well presented for inspection and after sales Ancasta remained interested to ensure my experience was positive. I wouldn't hesitate going to Ancasta for another purchase and if you are thinking of selling a boat, consider using Ancasta, you will get better service and value for money than many other brokers out there. And as a buying customer I would feel confident buying through them so you would be more likely to sell to me!

The Hunter Channel 31 is a David Thomas design that offers a remarkable combination of easy handling with good performance and the ability to dry out on her twin keels. Hunter always referred to these boats as "twin fin" rather than "bilge keel" to emphasise their performance. She is one of the few boats of this size to achieve a RCD Category 'A' rating even for the twin keeled version. Call us for more information. Tradewind 35 £55,000, 35' 0". at £55,000 is a moderately heavy displacement long-keeled yacht with a Hydrovane self-steering gear and wind generator on the stern, and excellent sails. She was coppercoated in early 2021. Internally she is in nice condition, with good upholstery and Mikuni blown air heating. In the present ownership for 14 years, she is for sale now only because of a bereavement. £69,000 41' 0", fin and skeg. to the present owner in 2016, and she is now back on the market. She has had the original 48 hp engine replaced with a 65 hp, and she has a bowthruster and an Aries windvane. In the present ownership she has had new electronics and standing rigging, also expensive renewal of the teak toerails and rubbing strakes. Unusually for a Rival 41, this is a remarkably lightly used yacht, that has never done major mileages. Moody 31 Mk II £26,000, 30' 9". from 1989 at £26,000 has excellent accommodation including a good-sized aft double cabin. This is one of the later-built Mk IIs, which have a sugarscoop stern. The hull is epoxied, and she has a good cruising inventory including heating and updated instruments. The owners have now bought a larger yacht. Ashore in Hampshire. Westerly Renown ketch £12,500, 32' 6". at a reduced price of £12,500 is a solidly built family cruiser offering five to six berths in three cabins. This yacht for sale has been in the present ownership for just over 30 years, and is for sale now only because of a bereavement. She has a newly installed (and not yet run in the water) reconditioned Volvo diesel, good sails and canvaswork, including a full cockpit canopy with frame. Ashore in Hampshire. Beneteau Oceanis Clipper 323 £52,500, 32' 10". at £52,500 is a really well looked after and updated example of these popular family cruisers. She has excellent recent sails, and an inventory that includes good electronics, cabin heating and a full cockpit "camper" cover. The interior is in immaculate condition, and the dark blue hull also looks very good indeed. This yacht is the deep keel "Clipper" version with blue hull. Beneteau First 285 £22,000, 28' 9". is a moderately fast boat for her size, whilst retaining a comfortable cruising interior with 6' 3" headroom in the saloon. This 1988 example is the shallow winged keel version and unusually for a yacht of under 30 feet has wheel steering. Yarmouth 23 gaff cutter £28,500, 26' 2". at £28,500 is a GRP gaff cutter and was built as a demonstration boat for the builders. She was exhibited at the 2012 and 2013 Southampton Boat Shows. Now in her second private ownership she is for sale as other commitments are giving less and less opportunities for the owner to sail her. She has an uprated 20 hp Beta diesel with very low hours. £125,000 37' 3". at £125,000 is a really high quality yacht offering an excellent balance of sailing performance, seakeeping and comfortable and beautifully finished accommodation. She has a fixed windscreen aided by clear screens to the "targa" arch, which also neatly contains the mainsheet, giving plenty of protection to the cockpit, with a full cover extension for use in harbour. This is a well looked after boat, that feels bigger than her 36 ft nominal length, both on deck and down below. Afloat in Hampshire. Westerly 33 £21,500, 33' 3". at £21,500 is a well maintained example of these solid, powerful cruising yachts. In the same ownership for over 25 years, she has been used for family cruising, and the present owner also sailed her in the 2009 OSTAR singlehanded transatlantic race, finishing third in class. She has a good inventory including a full cockpit tent, radar and autopilot, and the hull had a full osmosis treatment in 2017/18. Ashore in Hampshire, and . Southerly 100 £39,950. at £39,950 is a Dick Carter design, one of the few really shallow draught modern yachts available. She has a pilot house with interior steering, and a cast iron ballast plate protecting the keel and bottom when grounding. We sold this yacht to the present owner 10 years ago, and since then he has very comprehensively upgraded and equipped her. She is for sale now only for the owner's health reasons. Ashore in Hampshire. Hunter Legend 295 29' 6". at £22,000 is a modern small sailing cruiser with wheel steering and excellent interior headroom. She has a largely open plan interior which gives a feeling of space below, and a substantial fractional rig and a lead winged keel. The Hunter Legends are very much designed for comfort in a marina, but also provide good sailing performance in the sort of light to moderate conditions most leisure sailors actually go out in. Ashore in Hampshire. Wauquiez Pretorien 35 £42,500, 35' 5". from Wauquiez. This yacht is a quality fast cruiser, with an interior in extremely good condition. In the last five years she has had a bowthruster fitted, all new batteries, a Darglow feathering prop fitted, new standing rigging and rod kicker, and a new laminate genoa, plus other work. Ashore in Devon. Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 36i £69,950, 35' 11", shallow fin. is the preferred "owners" version. This is a shallow fin keel yacht with a very good inventory including excellent sails and a full cockpit "camper " cover. The hull has just had the old antifouling gritblasted off, and is ready for the new owner's preference of Coppercoat or antifouling. Ashore in Hampshire. Hunter Legend 356 £59,500, 35' 6". at £59,500 is an unusual yacht in that she is one of the few genuinely modern twin-keeled family cruisers around. Built by the US based Luhrs Marine in their UK Dorset factory in 2003, she offers a remarkably spacious interior and good sailing performance. Afloat in Hampshire. Hunter Legend 340 £47,000, 33' 6". with the shallow wing keel option at £47,000. Like most American boats this yacht has a spacious interior with good headroom and a large aft cabin double berth. She has a backstayless Bergstrom rig with a large in-mast furling mainsail sheeted to a cockpit arch and a relatively small headsail keeping sheet loads light. Afloat on the Isle of Wight. £49,000 34' 5". with the very useful option of twin bilge keels. The stand-out feature of these models is a very spacious aft cabin with double berth plus sitting space. This yacht has quite recently been re-engined with a 42 hp Sole diesel, more powerful than the original 35 hp Thornycroft. She has a good inventory including recent standing rigging and furling gear. Afloat in Hampshire. Hunter Channel 31 £51,500. was the 2003 Boat Show exhibit, and has been in the same ownership from new. She is in extremely good condition, and though quite extensively cruised by the family, has clearly been very well maintained. The hull is coppercoated and she has a Gori feathering prop. She has a good cruising inventory and Eberspacher heating, along with recent standing rigging. Dufour 36 Classic £56,000, 36' 1". at £56,000 is a very nicely fitted out modern cruising yacht. This yacht is the three cabin version with the shallow fin keel and in-mast reefing. She appears lightly used and well maintained, and the hull was Coppercoated in 2017. Afloat in Hampshire. Nauticat 37 £185,000, 36' 11". from 2002 at £185,000 is one of their later models designed for better sailing performance, whilst retaining a beautifully crafted teak interior with a spacious deck saloon. She has an excellent inventory including electric winches and a comprehensive suite of newish Raymarine electronics. Afloat in Cumbria. Wauquiez Centurion 40 £75,000, 39' 7". at £75,000 is a fast, elegant and highly seaworthy cruiser designed by Rob Humphreys and Ed Dubois, built by the quality French manufacturer Henri Wauquiez. Although she has seven berths, she is ideal for two couples, as she has separate heads by the fore and aft cabins. This 1988 example has the optional shallow draught lead bulb keel and an excellent inventory including a silenced diesel genset.
