Aventura 14

Presented at the Cannes show as a preview, this second powercat from Aventura Catamarans finally revealed her secrets during our test sail at La Grande-Motte, at the end of the International Multihull Show. Well-finished and displaying top-of-the-range comfort, this rather elegant motor catamaran is playing in the register of the oceanic trawler yacht. She is equally capable of some very varied programs... and to top that off, she is by far the cheapest powercat in this category.

In the early 2000s, Aventura, a boatbuilder specializing in polyester composite construction, started out with sub-26-foot monohulls and small coastal camping catamarans from 20 to 28 feet, then coastal cruising boats. From the outset, prices were kept low. The positioning of “the cheapest boat in its category” became an integral part of the builder’s policy, and that is still upheld today. The following decade saw the shipyard move upmarket to models over 40 feet in length that were super-livable and comfortable, and designed for ocean cruising. Since 2015, naval architect Samer Lasta has been designing the Aventura, and this collaboration has made the brand a great success, establishing itself in the panorama of medium-scale multihull manufacturers. With an annual production exceeding fifty units, Aventura Catamarans is in fact just behind the leading large shipyards. Three sailing models are offered: the 34, the 37 and the 44. The first powercats appeared in 2016 with the 10 Power, available with an outboard or inboard drivetrain.

Aventura 14 Power

Also launched at The Cannes Yachting Festival, and to much praise, was the new flagship Aventura 14 Power Catamaran . This really is a stunning new design with an astonishing amount of useable leisure space. Think of it as your adventure base and waterfront apartment for exploring what Australia has to offer on our coastline.

A saloon that opens to a large protected cockpit is ideal for entertaining with a full width swim platform, while the flybridge is huge offering panoramic views with a large protected hardtop. However, the saloon also opens forward to a bow cockpit ideal for sun-lounging and aperitifs.

Multiple layouts are available with the standard being a master and two guest cabins, all with ensuites, but up to a six-cabin layout is available. The saloon itself has a dinette to starboard facing to port, with the galley up and forward on the same side. The master cabin takes up the port hull and is simply luxurious with a fully rectangular island style bed, while both guest cabins are in the starboard hull.

Extremely roomy and safe the Aventura 14 comes with standard twin 320hp diesels with 1500 litres of fuel offering a top speed of approximately 18 knots, and an extensive range that will take you wherever you dream of adventures. In the early 2000s, the manufacturer Aventura, specialized in the manufacture of composite polyester, started its activity with monohulls of less than 8 meters and small catamarans of coastal camping of 20 to 28 feet, then of coastal cruise. From the outset, the prices displayed are tight; this “least expensive boat in its category” position is permanently anchored in the manufacturer’s policy – it is still forbidden today. The next decade saw a rise in the construction industry to models over 40 feet long – super-habitable and comfortable – for offshore cruising. Since 2015, it is the architect Samer Lasta who designs the Aventuras, and this collaboration makes a great success for the brand, which has become established in the panorama of manufacturers of medium-scale multihulls. With more than fifty units produced annually, Aventura Catamarans is right behind the very first major shipyards. Three sailing models are available: 34, 37 and 44. The first powercats started in 2016 with the 10 Power, with an outboard and inboard powertrain.
