We are an outdoor business and not required by the new town ordinance to wear masks as we greet on the docks and board the boat. If you would like to wear a mask during greeting and boarding, please let us know.

Hilton Head Sailing Tours & Charters

Hilton Head’s sailing excursions offer an interesting and often quieter alternative to the dozens of tours of the area available on powered boats (thematically, the sailing tours are the same — nature and sightseeing, sunset cruises and trips coinciding with the island’s weekly summer fireworks displays).

Sailboats range from very small recreational sailing boats, through family-sized sailed yachts, to large vessels able to accommodate dozens of people. You can choose either a tour or a charter for your trip.

Tours are generally open to the public and priced on a per-person basis. Charters are for your own group only, and can offer more flexibility than a public trip, in addition to a private and more intimate experience. If you have a group of five or six people, the price of a private charter is often comparable to a public tour.

We had an absolute amazing time on our sunset cruise. The Captain and crew took amazing care of us and made sure we had the most luxury evening of relaxation. I will be booking them anytime I'm in the area and would recommend them to any and all.

The weather didn't cooperate for our sunset/dolphin cruise but Paul got us scheduled in for a day time cruise on a different day. Kevin (the captain) was awesome! Laid back, friendly, and knows the history of the area too. The best part is he let our son "drive" the boat with his direction. By far the best experience we had while we were here on vacation. We will definitely schedule a trip next time we are in!

Great sailing trip today! Captain Paul and crew member Don were great guides and sailors. It was excellent weather and we spotted some dolphins! It was just me and my husband on board and Paul and Don provided an excellent experience on board their sail boat! Got some drinks and donuts on the trip. It was the highlight of our trip to Hilton Head!

This was our very first sailing experience. For me, I wanted to see dolphins. My partner wanted to actually help sail. We both got exactly what we wanted and more. Captain Paul and Kevin were great hosts. They patiently answered all of our questions and educated us about the surroundings, great white sharks, and the dolphins. We saw quite a few dolphins, which was amazing, and Captain Paul always turned down the engine and allowed us to hover nearby them to truly enjoy their beauty. Kevin kept us laughing with his one-liners and always made sure we had what we needed to enjoy the afternoon out. It was a little windier than we might have liked, but Captain Paul was very communicative about the conditions and what to expect. I would highly recommend them and plan on coming back to do it again next time we're in town

What a delightful experience. Our original schedule was impacted by Elsa. The Anchors Away crew contacted us and rebooked a time which worked with our schedule. I charter this for the wife and I as a private experience and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Captain Paul and Don were great! Very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the area and sailing. We learned a lot. Didn't get to see any dolphins up close, however we absolutely intend to return with a couple friends next time we are in the area. Captain Paul and Don, thanks for the experience!!

My family of 6 went out sailing with Captain Paul and Kevin on July 6th and had a great time. The boat is very clean and comfortable. It's a great way to spend a couple of hours on Hilton Head. Captain Paul and Kevin are very knowledgeable about the area and the different types sea life in the area. We got to see many dolphins while out sailing.They shared some very funny stories with us and all around a great time by all. We definitely will do this again when we visit again

Fabulous boat! Great captain and first mate (Paul & Kevin.) Our group had a wide comfort range from those who had never been on a sailboat and were nervous about heeling to those who wanted sped and heeling to the max. Paul & Kevin managed to make our nervous guests at ease and worked up to some awesome sailing for all. Kudos to them and their knowledge of the boat and water. Thanks for an excellent time!

We booked a sunset sail for the night of 7/23 with anchors away. Captain Paul met as at the dock and took us about his lovely sailboat. He was very cordial and professional and he had a bottle of chilled champagne waiting for my wife and i (it was our one year wedding anniversary). Captain Paul did a great job of navigating us around and maximizing our sunset views. He let us drive the boat and answered all of our silly sailing questions. It was a great time. Would recommend to anyone.

Our Services

Hilton Head Island’s biggest catamaran sailboat is 53 feet long by 26 feet wide. USCG certified. There is a spacious hard deck area with 50 comfortable seats throughout, plus lots of walk-around deck space.  Uncrowded. We limit to 43 guests maximum so there is plenty of room for everyone. You can have your choice of sunbathing, or relaxing in the shade, under the hard bimini cover top.  PAU HANA is very “family friendly” for all ages. You do not have to stay seated in one place.  You can move about in a safe and stable environment (no open railings, solid sides) viewing nature and marine wildlife from all areas on board. Our crew enjoys sharing information and insights about this wonderful island that we call “home”, in a personalized casual manner (no microphones). We play a variety of music. You are welcome to bring along a small cooler with your favorite food and beverage. Water and soft drinks are available for purchase. Rest room on board.

This very popular, fast and fun, former racing catamaran sailboat is 27 feet long by 16 feet wide. It is limited to 6 passengers maximum (plus captain), for comfort and intimacy. There is a hard deck area with padded cushioned seats, plus you are welcome to ride forward of the mast on the netting (made of soft trampoline-like material). Our friendly and knowledgeable captains provide a unique individualized private experience for all ages. Enjoy an exciting nature and dolphin watch, smooth sailing cruise from a perfect, close to the water viewpoint. It is very relaxing and stress-free fun. You do not bounce around, as on small powerboats, or have to listen to constant engine noise – it’s just “pure” sailing in tune with the quiet harmony of Nature.  FLYING CIRCUS is ideal for that small group adventure. Hilton Head charter captain killed in motorcycle collision Thursday night, troopers say

A charter boat captain from Hilton Head was killed in a motorcycle collision Thursday night on U.S. 278, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Nathaniel James Riley, 30, was pronounced dead at 10:11 p.m. Thursday at the scene of the crash, according to Margaret Bowyer, a deputy coroner at the Beaufort County Coroner’s Office. The islander was wearing a helmet at the time of collision but was killed “on impact,” she said.

As the founder of Tighten Up Fishing Charters , Riley captained a 23-foot SeaCat to take patrons on fishing expeditions off the coast of Hilton Head. He was born and raised on the island, the company’s website says. He began working on boats at 18 and received his captain’s license in 2021, which he used to start his business a few years later.

The collision occurred around 9:45 p.m. as Riley drove his 2022 Kawasaki motorcycle west on U.S. 278 (William Hilton Parkway) while a Nissan SUV attempted to turn left onto Squire Pope Road, according to Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway of the SCHP. The motorcycle collided with the car and Riley “spilled into the roadway,” the release says.

The driver of the SUV was not injured and stayed on the scene as county deputies, troopers and the coroner responded, according to an incident report from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.

SCHP is investigating the crash.
