Motor yacht RH THREE (ex RH3, Private Lives) is a 36m (120') 2003 steel expedition (explorer style) motor yacht built by RMK, Turkey, with naval architecture by Vripack International. A versatile no-nonsense-go-anywhere explorer vessel without compromises. RH THREE was designed by Vripack to take guests to the furthest corners of the world. She was originally launched in 2003 and presented in immaculate condition with a calming interior design by Vincent van Duysen after an extensive rebuild in 2021.

This motor yacht provides a very spacious and interesting interior layout, with a contemporary and traditional manner of styling, by Vincent Van Duysen. Throughout the yacht, neutral and timeless tones create a sense of minimalistic sophistication. On the main deck, the salon and dining are open plan, offering the lounge aft and dining forward. With large windows surrounding the salon, as well as aft-facing windows and doors, the space is light and airy.

Forward of the salon to starboard is a guest cabin, day head and foyer to the master stateroom. Her master cabin has a king-size bed, private office, lounge sofa, walk-in wardrobe and large ensuite.

On the upper deck is a sky lounge with exceptional views from panoramic windows, complete with a generous L-shaped sofa, occasional chairs, tables and gym equipment. A foyer leads to a twin cabin to port, followed by 2 mirror image queen guest cabins, on port and starboard. All guest cabins offer fantastic views, ample natural light and private ensuite facilities.

RH THREE Specifications

Exterior living is well-appointed and social. Aft of the main salon is a shaded deck with seating and an alfresco dining option. Further aft, a lower deck has 2 fitted fishing chairs. An extended swim platform on the transom features stainless steel rails for safety while allowing for effortless water access to enjoy the good assortment of toys on offer. On the upper deck, the yacht has a partial Bimini for those wishing to remain in the shade and an alfresco dining table. Aft is a large built in sun pad. The upper deck has direct access to the interior sky lounge, as well as steps leading to the lower aft deck.

The explorer-style yacht is powered by twin Caterpillar engines, providing cruising speeds of 10 knots and top speeds of 13 knots. She has a range of 2000 nautical miles. Yacht RH3 is fitted with both at anchor and underway Naiad stabilizers.

III Amigos: A superyacht inside a 28.5m sportfish?

On the starboard side of the saloon on board the new 28.5 metre Rybovich III Amigos there is a dinette unlike any other in the world. In the reflection of the high-gloss redwood burl table one can catch a dancing glimpse of the deep navy-blue leather in the seats, done by Edelman with stitching so delicate and firm that it appears less handmade than it does organic, as if it has always been and always will be. 

To starboard of the seats are glove compartments similar to those you’d find in a car – a Ferrari to be exact. That’s because this dinette was custom styled to match the owner’s customised Ferrari, which in turn was styled after one of his homes in Key Largo.

Sheer opulence like this might be the expected standard aboard a 80 metre Lürssen . However, what makes the dinette truly unique is that it’s not on a floating palace being constructed in one of the hallowed yacht-building halls of northern Europe. Instead, it’s on board a fully outfitted sportfisher, built in Florida and set to possibly become nothing short of a watershed vessel for the American yacht lover.

III Amigos is a collaboration between Michael Rybovich & Sons Custom Boat Works in Palm Beach Gardens and Patrick Knowles , a Bahamian-born, award-winning interior designer based in Fort Lauderdale . For Knowles, the yacht is a coup. “This boat could be a pivotal game changer for the American sportfishing industry,” he says. Sportfish boats in America occupy a super-charged, ego-driven, niche strata of the marine market. Owners buy these boats to compete for the biggest fish, but also to collect bragging rights at the dock – baddest boat wins, period. And with the Rybovich 94, it feels like a new bully just moved into town.

All yachts are toys, but large, tournament-bound convertibles are also tools. And while still fetching prices sometimes in the eight-digit range, their interiors often reflect a pragmatic raison d’être that simply wouldn’t cut it among most superyacht owners.

Knowles, who has also worked on airplanes and residences for the owner, put it like this: “In the past, if I saw a sportfish boat on the cover of a magazine, I would glance at it very quickly because I’ve already judged it. I know the configuration down below, no matter the builder. That’s not the audience we are after.”

The contract for III Amigos was signed on August 9, 2018, so the ensuing project would stretch to three years plus. For Knowles, the wait was worth it. And in many respects, very much needed.

As we toured the vessel’s interior he pointed to the bar counter on the aft end of the galley. Like the rest of the stone on board, it was sourced in Italy. “The owner flew me to Pisa just to find 500 square feet of marble,” he says. “I spent two days there and my mission was clear: find the most dynamic Bahia blue marble that exists anywhere in the world.”

By the looks of it, he found it. The countertop is alive with colour. Greys and blacks and all manners of blue float and frenzy in a pattern reminiscent of a massive ball of baitfish. The countertop is nicely picked up by the cushions on the barstools, which are upholstered in a lush alligator hide, also blue, that resonates an undeniable masculinity. It helps that the cushions sit upon stools by BlueWater Chairs that the owner stipulated must be “rock solid.” And they are. At Knowles’s bidding I grabbed the back of one of them with both hands and tried to shake it and it wouldn’t budge at all. I should add that the backs of those stools have solid stainless-steel portholes without any flanges. The steel is so snugly fit to the wenge that it’s as if they are one.

That’s a large part of this vessel’s appeal. One of the unique things about III Amigos is that her interior was built by Metrica, a 340-year-old German company that specialises in interiors for residences and superyachts. Metrica constructed the interior to Knowles’ and the owner’s requirements, disassembled the pieces and shipped them to the Rybovich yard for assembling and reinstallation. The level of flexibility this choice allowed Knowles as an interior designer was unparalleled in this market segment.

Take, for example, the yacht’s galley. The owner is a chef by trade so, not surprisingly, his requirements here were rather exacting. The hood over the stove is fully custom, as is the sink, because an 0.8-inch cutout in the corner of the galley space required a unique sink. “It’s the only one like it in the world,” Knowles says. The refrigerator, of all things, also presented an interesting challenge for the designer. “We were deep into the project and the owner decided he wanted a Sub-Zero fridge. But the one he wanted didn’t fit with the space we had, so we had to modify the structure to make room overhead,” he says. “But the question became ‘How are we going to do that without destroying  the fluid line [of the ceiling]?’” The answer required some creativity. Knowles ended up adding dark wenge wood to the soffit above the refrigerator, which neatly picked up other wenge accents in the galley and obviated the visual need for perfect symmetry. Effectively, he turned imperfection into art.

The designer is a savant for spatial nuances, and it informed every part of the interior. “It’s so important for spaces to properly flow,” he says, gesturing around an interior that masterfully integrated competing spaces. “Have you ever gone to a restaurant and loved the food, loved the service, and then been, like, but I’m never going there again? Lots of times that’s the feng shui giving you a subliminal feeling that just doesn’t agree with you. It’s so important and people take it for granted.”

The Rybovich’s accommodations deck was also done by Knowles in conjunction with Metrica and has myriad touches that strike at the megayacht aspirations of this fishing machine. Perhaps the most obvious of these is the thickness of the doors down below. While most large convertibles would typically have doors about 1.4 inches thick, the doors on III Amigos are twice as sturdy at 2.8 inches. They feel like the doors on a safe and are much more akin to what you’d find at the Monaco Yacht Show than at the Bermuda Big Game Classic. The en suites on this level feature Striato marble imported from Italy, notable for the rich grey stripes that streak through the off-white base colour. 

A VIP to port hearkens to Knowles’s early days as designer for private jets. It’s modeled after a cabin on board the Boeing Business Jet, and has a cambered ceiling that mimics the cylindrical shape of an aircraft. About that ceiling: it’s tongue and groove, and as I was exiting the VIP I noticed that one of the planks was perhaps a tenth of an inch longer than the other ones. Feeling cheeky, I pointed it out to Knowles. “Ah yes, you’re right,” he says with a smile, running his fingernail over the tiny gradation, “we’ll have to get that straightened out.” It was the only blemish I registered regarding the entirety of this 28 metre's fit and finish. Sometimes it really is the exception that proves the rule.

But the yacht’s interior is not all that sets it apart. It has another aspect that makes it distinct among Ryboviches. “This is our first enclosed flying bridge,” Michael Rybovich says. “About halfway through the project the customer decided that they were going to make a change in the bridge structure. Originally the boat had been designed with a traditional open bridge. But the owner wanted it to be enclosed for practicality. They do a lot of traveling and in long-distance running it’s a lot more comfortable to be inside and not at the mercy of the weatherman, so to speak.”

Captain Jody Whitworth, who has been with the owner for nine years, seconds Rybovich’s assertion. “We do a lot of running from the Keys to the Bahamas and Panama and Costa Rica on the Pacific side, with lots of stopping and bottom fishing along the way,” he says. “That’s a lot of time on the boat,  so for us to have our own little space, almost like a saloon, that’s huge for the crew.”

Rybovich is also quick to point out other qualities that make her a legitimate tourney boat, should the owner choose to enter the large fishing tournaments that are so popular in the Americas. “We are running twin 16V 2000 M96L MTUs on this boat,” he says. “Those engines are the biggest, most powerful engines we can get in a practical profile in the high-horsepower line of diesel engines available for marine use. It’s the engine of choice in large sportfishermen for a number of reasons that include speed, power, quiet operation and overall smoothness.”

Whitworth adds that those engines have the boat running at a tourney-ready 41 knots, while cruising at 34 knots at 1,950rpm.  Speed is especially important to sportfishers because when the fish are biting, he who gets there first, wins. And conversely, during a tournament, boats usually need to be back at the docks to weigh their fish by a certain time, so a faster boat allows for more time spent fishing. The Rybovich can also travel for 2,000 miles at nine knots thanks to 4,400 gallons of fuel at full load. 

That’s enough to get her from Florida to the Panama Canal – and the black marlin and Indo-Pacific sailfish-laden riches beyond – on her own bottom. She’s also cold molded, which Whitworth likes for a few reasons. “In a composite boat, the owner’s stateroom, for example, can be pretty loud,” he says, “because the water laps against the hull at anchor, and the glass and foam make the sound echo and resonate. Building with wood, and with four layers  of 5/16ths mahogany below the waterline and three layers above it, the material should absorb that sound and energy.” There’s also a suspected advantage to fishing a wooden boat. “The wood has a different sound to it when you’re trolling, and it seems to give cold molded boats a slight advantage attracting fish,” Whitworth says.

The captain, perhaps not surprisingly, is also enamoured with the boat’s command station, which looks like it belongs on a Feadship . Four massive Furuno screens complement excellent sight lines. A dining settee aft provides climate-controlled stowage for a treasure trove of rods and reels beneath its cushions as well. The 94 has also got loads of flashy (but oh so necessary) fishing accoutrements including 26 rod holders, four livewells to hold live bait, a 150-gallon fishbox, and three ice makers that can make 2,540 pounds of ice per day.

“We’ve never worked with an outside subcontractor before, and this boat will be a different cup of tea for most of the sportfishing crowd, I can say that,” Rybovich says with a lilt in his voice. “She’s spectacular in every aspect. We’re absolutely thrilled. It’s our latest and greatest.”

But is she spectacular enough to start a revolution in the sportfish world, bringing superyachts and convertibles ever closer to being one and the same? The answer may very well lie in just how much future guests like that dinette. I know where my money lies.

About ThreeQuartersFull

ThreeQuartersFull is a beautiful 4 cabin/4 head Aquila 48, offering guests a comfortable and well-equipped powercat for bareboat charter. 

With a 23-foot-6-inch beam, the Aquila 48 has a spacious salon with a dining table and wraparound settee, plus a galley with every required amenity including a Kenyon induction cooktop for flame-free safety.  There is also a large couch to starboard, creating a forward seating/dining area that can accommodate all members of your charter group.

The galley on ThreeQuartersFull is conveniently located to the aft and includes a two-burner cooktop, electric grill, fridge/freezer drawers and a separate second fridge.  The Aquila 48 offers a one-of-a-kind design, as the large window in the aft can be raised to create an indoor-outdoor feel between the aft deck and galley.   There are two bar stools on the aft deck, creating the perfect spot to enjoy a cocktail or snacks alfresco. 

On the aft deck, custom hydraulic davits make launching the included, 12′ dinghy with 15hp outboard, as easy as pushing a button. Even better, a lowering transom platform between the hulls can be above water to make boarding the tender easy, or it can be lowered to become a water-level “beach” for swimming.

The flybridge, which is immense, has another dining area aft with a folding table, shaded by a fiberglass hardtop. This top extends forward to cover the centerline helm featuring a Raymarine GPS, chart plotter and autopilot. On each side of the helm console are sun pads that double as seating. Behind the four-wide helm bench seat is an outdoor galley and wet bar with sink, electric barbecue grill and fridge.  The Aquila 48 is also uniquely designed with stairs that lead from each side of the flybridge directly to the foredeck, making for easy access for picking up mooring balls. 

There is another great recessed seating area on the foredeck.  On ThreeQuartersFull, just open a door from the salon and step into a forward cockpit, shaded by the flybridge overhang and complete with wraparound seating and a folding table for enjoying sundowners.

ThreeQuartersFull has 4 guest cabins, all with queen-sized beds and en-suite heads with separate showers.   The two aft cabins also have the ability for the queen to split into two twin beds, if preferred.   For groups of 9 or 10, the salon dining room table lowers and there is an insert that can be put place to convert the salon table to a bed. 

Power for the Aquila 48 is from a pair of 330-horsepower Volvo Penta D6 diesels with V-drives that push the boat to a shade over 20 knots.  ThreeQuartersFull is also equipped with a Northern Lights 16.5kw generator.

A look at the most expensive superyachts at the Palm Beach yacht show and their insane features, from basketball courts on deck to ice baths and saunas

• The Palm Beach International Boat Show kicks off later this week.
• Eight megayachts are expected to be on display for would-be buyers and charter customers.
• These are the show's biggest yachts — and how many millions of dollars they are going for.

The Palm Beach International Boat Show — the yacht world's flashiest event stateside — is returning this year with over 800 boats for both deep-pocketed potential owners and window shoppers to peruse.

While it's impossible to know what exactly will be on display until the show begins on Thursday, it's expected that eight megayachts — generally defined as ships over 60 meters long — will be docked at the show and at nearby marinas like the Rybovich Marina in the ritzy Florida town.

Some of these are for sale at eye-popping prices, but others are available to if in case you fancy living like a billionaire for a week or two this summer (and if you have six figures to spare on a vacation).

These are the eight biggest yachts that will be at the Palm Beach International Boat Show and nearby marinas, in size order.

Nero: 90.1 meters

Price: From $497,000 a week (charter) Standout features: Pizza ovens, beauty salon, massage room, resistance pool

Reportedly owned by Irish billionaire Denis O'Brien, Nero is modeled after J.P. Morgan's 1930s ship , and was built in 2007 and updated in 2021.

She now boasts a gym on her sundeck with multiple cardio machines and a beauty salon, and has an on-board beautician for manicure, pedicure, hair, and massage needs. There's also an upgraded movie theater, two new pizza ovens, and both a pool and a jacuzzi.

For those who want to go overboard, she has more than a dozen toys, including a waterslide, Jet Ski, and flyboard.

Victorious: 85 meters

Price: From $876,600 a week in the summer and $950,000 a week in the winter Standout features: Hammam (Turkish bath), wine cellar, wood-burning fireplace, children's playroom

Victorious brings a party vibe to the yacht show. With a beach club on board, a wine cellar, a cigar clubroom , multiple bars, and a lounge with a piano, the vessel is made for entertaining. Plus, there's a playroom and movie theater to entertain the kids.

For tamer charter clients, Victorious has a suite of wellness features such as a gym, massage room, beauty salon and hammam, or Turkish bath — perhaps a custom request of her owner, Turkish businessman Vural Ak.

She also boasts a treasure trove of water toys, including Jet Skis, jetsurfs, inflatable kayaks, and scuba equipment.

Casino Royale: 72 meters

Price: TBD Special Features: Infinity pool, helipad, private jacuzzi

Purchased and refitted by car dealer magnate John Staluppi last year, Casino Royale is the latest of his James Bond-inspired yachts (he's also owned an Octopussy and a Skyfall, among others).

Casino Royale has a helipad that turns into a dancefloor, an infinity pool, and a wellness center with a gym and sauna. The owner's cabin has its own deck, which features a private bar and jacuzzi.

However, the boat's price isn't listed, and while she's not necessarily officially for sale, that might change depending on who's prepared to buy, Mr. Bond.

Talisman C: 70.6 meters

Price: $60 million (or from $567,000 a week to charter) Special features: Massage and beauty room, private library

Likely the largest yacht for sale (not just charter) at the show, the Talisman C is a 2011 six-bedroom boat. The owner's cabin comes with an en suite bathroom, dressing room, private library, and crystal chandeliers.

Amenities include a gym, a beauty room, oversized jacuzzi, and a fully equipped bar. Her crew of 19 includes a trained masseuse, and the toy room comes equipped with a wakeboard, eFoil , and WaveRunners.

Joy: 70 meters

Price: From $650,000 a week Special features: Disco club, basketball court, onboard fitness instructor

Superyacht Joy testifies to the fact that owners want as many on-board experiences as they can get.

There's an expansive suite of fitness features, including a basketball court (don't shoot that hoop too hard!), a personal trainer on staff, boxing equipment, and a handful of machines. For post-workout winddowns, there's a spa with a steam room and onboard masseuse. And for entertainment, there's both an outdoor and indoor cinema, and a disco club.

Triumph: 65.4 meters

Price: From $707,600 a week in the summer and $650,000 a week in the winter Special features: Sauna, helipad, banana boat

This 2021 superyacht is named after Triumph motorcycles — a reported favorite of her rumored owner, British businessman Chris Dawson — and even has one on display as an art piece in the upper deck's lounge. The primary suite is 1,400 square feet and has its own study , and there's a sauna, an indoor-outdoor gym, a helipad, and a massage room spread among her six decks.

She boasts an "armada of water toys," including two kinds of Jet Skis, electric water bikes, and a banana boat.

Seanna: 64.5 meters

Price: $54,000,000 (or from $462,000 a week to charter) Special features: marble foyer, movie room, sundeck pool

The recently refurbished Seanna is available for sale and charter.

Her indoor-outdoor gym is on sea level so that passengers can take a dip after a session with the onboard personal trainer. There's also a sundeck pool, a helipad, a two-room massage facility, and, for the more cerebral guests, a library with an electric fireplace.

There are a number of toys on board, including a popular water trampoline and two WaveRunners.

Come Together: 60 meters

Price: $65,000,000 Special Features: DJ and videographer on board, ice bath, sauna

Next-to-new yacht Come Together is looking for a new owner after doing charters during the 2023 season.

The Beatles' influence is evident beyond the yacht's name, with guitars dotting the sky lounge and a crewmember who doubles as a DJ. There's also an outdoor cinema and bar for entertainment and an ice bath and sauna for the day after the party. The owner's suite has a private study and lounge, and each guest cabin has its own ensuite.

The sale includes a number of toys, like Jet Skis, kayaks, and Seabobs.

Spain’s Maritime Rescue Service said in a statement that two survivors and three bodies were found on a partially sunken boat off the coast near the town of Motril. The two survivors said the boat had been carrying 12 people when it set sail from Algeria six days ago, leading authorities to suspect seven others may have fallen into the sea.

The two survivors and three bodies were taken by helicopter to the mainland.

Tens of thousands of migrants from sub-Saharan countries fleeing poverty, conflict and instability in West Africa try to reach Spain each year in large open boats. Most go to the Canary Islands in the Atlantic , while others from Morocco , Algeria and Middle Eastern countries try to cross the Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean to mainland Spain. Several thousand die making the hazardous journey.

The Interior Ministry says 14, 405 migrants arrived in Spain by boat between Jan. 1 and Mar. 15, up from 3,528 in the same period last year. The vast majority arrived on the Canary Island route.

At least 3 dead, 7 missing after migrant boat capsizes off southern Spain

MADRID - At least three people died and seven were missing after a boat carrying migrants across the Mediterranean Sea capsized off the coast of southern Spain, the country's maritime rescue service said on Friday.

The service said another vessel had issued an alert at 8 a.m. local time (0700 GMT) after sighting the semi-sunken black boat 26 nautical miles (48 km) south of Cape Sacratif in the city of Motril.

Rescuers found five passengers on the boat, three of whom were dead. The two survivors were evacuated by helicopter to hospital and were in serious condition, suffering from hypothermia.

The survivors told rescue personnel that there had been 12 people on board when the boat left Algeria six days ago, prompting a search operation for the seven people believed to be missing. The date and place of their disappearance was unclear, the service said.

It added that an airplane from European border agency Frontex was aiding in search-and-rescue efforts, which were hampered by strong winds causing waves of up to 3 metres (9.8 feet) in height.

The number of migrants arriving in Spain by boat in the first two-and-a-half months of this year quadrupled to 15,148 from the same period a year ago, interior ministry data showed.

Rights group Walking Borders said 6,618 people lost their lives during risky sea voyages trying to reach Spain in 2023. REUTERS

Strange Glow Over Moscow Skies Triggers Panic as Explosions Reported

B right flashes lit up the night sky in southern Moscow in the early hours of Thursday morning, new footage appears to show, following reports of an explosion at an electrical substation on the outskirts of the city.

Video snippets circulating on Russian-language Telegram channels show a series of flashes on the horizon of a cloudy night sky, momentarily turning the sky a number of different colors. In a clip shared by Russian outlet MSK1.ru, smoke can be seen rising from a building during the flashes lighting up the scene.

Newsweek was unable to independently verify the details of the video clips, including when and where it was filmed. The Russian Ministry of Emergency situations has been contacted via email.

Several Russian Telegram accounts said early on Thursday that residents of southern Moscow reported an explosion and a fire breaking out at an electrical substation in the Leninsky district, southeast of central Moscow.

Local authorities in the Leninsky district told Russian outlet RBC that the explosion had happened in the village of Molokovo. "All vital facilities are operating as normal," Leninsky district officials told the outlet.

The incident at the substation in Molokovo took place just before 2 a.m. local time, MSK1.ru reported.

Messages published by the ASTRA Telegram account, run by independent Russian journalists, appear to show residents close to the substation panicking as they question the bright flashes in the sky. One local resident describes seeing the bright light before losing access to electricity, with another calling the incident a "nightmare."

More than 10 villages and towns in the southeast of Moscow lost access to electricity, the ASTRA Telegram account also reported. The town of Lytkarino to the southeast of Moscow, lost electricity, wrote the eastern European-based independent outlet, Meduza.

Outages were reported in the southern Domodedovo area of the city, according to another Russian outlet, as well as power failures in western Moscow. Electricity was then restored to the areas, the Strana.ua outlet reported.

The cause of the reported explosion is not known. A Telegram account aggregating news for the Lytkarino area described the incident as "an ordinary accident at a substation."

The MSK1.ru outlet quoted a local resident who speculated that a drone may have been responsible for the explosion, but no other Russian source reported this as a possible cause.

Ukraine has repeatedly targeted Moscow with long-range aerial drones in recent months, including a dramatic wave of strikes in late May.

On Sunday, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said the region's air defense systems had intercepted an aerial drone over the city of Elektrostal, to the east of Moscow. No damage or casualties were reported, he said.

The previous day, Russian air defenses detected and shot down another drone flying over the Bogorodsky district, northeast of central Moscow, Sobyanin said.

There is currently no evidence that an aerial drone was responsible for the reported overnight explosion at the electrical substation in southern Moscow.
