Boat Description

Gulet Malena is one of the most popular small gulets in Croatia. With a reputation of a great gulet with an excellent crew, there is no doubt that you will enjoy your week if you choose this gulet for your charter. Malena has 5 cabins to accommodate up to 10 guests . All the cabins are air conditioned and have en-suite toilet.

Guest cabins configuration : 4 Double bed cabins (190×160 cm) 1 Twin cabins (2 x 90*190 cm).

• Each of the cabins has wardrobe, 24 V/220 electricity, hair dryers, its own ensuite bathroom, home like, with shampoo, toilet paper, soap, shower box with curtain
• Beach towels:2 per person per week
• Bathroom towels: 4 towels per person per week.
• Additional beach or bathroom towels :  on request
• Bedding info : bed sheets are included in price.
• Air-condition: 6 hours/ day is included in the price.

Deck: is most beautiful part of the gulet Malena. Stern deck is completely shaded and is perfect dining area, furnished with big dining table with chairs, as well as very comfortable cushioned leisure sofa, where our guests adore reposing after plentiful and delicious meals. Our crew serves the chef’s delicacies on stern table since all the guests prefer outdoor dining. On the bow, there are sun bathing mattresses and the cushioned bench with cocktail table, which makes this area a place for complete relaxation and socializing with your family and friends.

Salon areas: The indoor salon is very spacious, cozy and elegantly furnished, having a large couch with dining table and chairs, as well as the yacht bar. The salon is equipped with TV and music system. Large panoramic windows allow much of a daylight..

Galley & crew quarters : The galley is completely separated bellow deck, kitchen features all necessary equipment – including ovens, grill, refrigerators and deep freezers, BBQ.

Lovingly maintained by a local owner with a passion for traditional sailing gulets, Malena is one of three such vessels in his collection. She is a very charming choice that will delight families or small groups of friends looking to make lasting memories together on Croatia’s idyllic Dalmatian coast.

Deck space is generous for a gulet of this size, carefully planned so that guests can take advantage of a full sun terrace with day beds under the main mast, a separate cocktails area in the bow and a very sociable main outside dining area with additional lounging in the stern. Meals are prepared by a skilled on-board chef who whips up delicious creations from fresh local ingredients with Croatian, French and Italian influences.

Four double cabins and one twin cabin are divided between the aft deck and the bow. All boast plenty of natural light, modern fittings, and newly refurbished private bathrooms. A motorised tender accompanies Malena on her expeditions, allowing you to take full advantage of her watersports equipment which includes water skis, snorkelling gear, a canoe and paddleboard. The Dalmatian coastline lends itself brilliantly to pitching up at a secluded cove to swim and snorkel in aquamarine waters, and your knowledgeable captain will be able to make recommendations of the very best places for your adventures both in the water and on dry land.

Gulet Malena is 25 meters long and completely renovated in 2012. She has 4 Double, 1 Twin Cabins, thereby accommodating 10 guests, all in air-conditioned cabins. Each cabin has a separate WC and shower unit.

There is a spacious cushioned seating area, dining table and dining area at the rear of the boat. There is a separate dining table in saloon and your meals are prepared in a fully equipped separate kitchen. Malena Gulet has enough sunbathing mats and space for all guests. There are a TV, DVD and music system in the saloon.

There are separate cabins for the 3 crew accompanying you on your cruise. The Crew organizes all meals, cleaning, maintenance, and daily activities during the cruise. Safety and comfort of our guests is an absolute priority and the crew has been trained to ensure that. They retire to their own cabins once there are no more jobs or when you need privacy.

The crew of Malena comprises some exceptional experience. They will act as your guides, historians. They will prepare delicious food, and share with you some of Croatia’s most spectacular destinations. They provide a richly authentic experience as you cruise the Dalmatian coastline.

Mediterranean kitchen

Chef Luka Josipović will conjure up delicious meals each day which will surely be one of the highlights of your holiday. His menus are an epicurean delight. Luka has over 10 years’ experience running the galley on gulets and has proved very popular with all the guests he caters for.

Cozy and snug

The name “Malena” means “small” in Croatian, however this 26-meter long gulet can accommodate 10 guests in 5 cabins, each with panoramic sea views. She has a cozy internal salon and an expansive deck ideal for alfresco dining and sunbathing.

Activities onboard

Enjoy a variety of water sports including water skiing, donut riding, kayaking, and paddleboarding. Fishing and snorkeling equipment is also carried. Port and Tourist Taxes

PORT TAXES: Port fees, anchorages, and Tourist taxes are to be paid on spot (in cash), according to actual costs in ports/anchors. The total cost per week depends on the selected itinerary/port costs. It is not obligatory for the yacht to be in the port each night, it can also be anchored, which lowers the mooring fees (approximate cost is 1.000 -1.500 €/week). In the case of the large consumption of water or fuel during the cruise yacht should go to the port to refill.

Non-Mandatory Extras:

Private Marinas:

• If a client wishes to use private marinas the costs can vary from 300 and up to 800 €/night.
• Tips are not included in the price of the charter and are a voluntary way of showing appreciation for a good service. Usually, it is 7% to 15% of the charter price, according to your satisfaction, paid to the captain at the end of the charter and distributed equally by the captain to the rest of the crew.

Additional Motorized Water Sports:

• Malena has water skiing and Ringo ride which is charged 100 €/hour according to clients usage. 

Other Options on request:

• Land transfers, fishing licenses, guided tours, excursions, restaurants, bike rentals, car rentals.

How does the charter agreement work?

Once your chosen yacht has been confirmed, we will send you a standard MYBA or Goolets charter agreement that needs to be signed. If your chosen cruise route requires a different embarking or disembarking place other than the yacht's central harbor, delivery/redelivery fees may apply.

What are the payment terms?

After signing the MYBA or Goolets charter agreement, a deposit of 50% of the total charter cost is required. You can pay the fee via bank transfer or credit card (only Visa or MasterCard). The other 50%, an Advance Provisioning Allowance (if applicable), taxes, positioning fees, and any previously agreed charges are payable via bank transfer eight weeks before departure.

What are the actual operating expenses?

Once you made the final payment of the charter, you pay the Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA). Under MYBA terms, this fee is usually between 30% - 40% of the total charter cost.

This covers the operating expenses of a charter (explained under Charter Terms), such as fuel, food, drinks, port fees, and ad hoc incidentals. The APA is given to the captain before the start of your charter. Some yachts and gulets also offer food/drinks packages which are normally paid in cash during embarkation, while the port taxes are paid during embarkation according to the costs presented by the captain. The Captain ensures that the yacht is fully fuelled and stocked when you step on board. 

While an up-to-date summary of accounts can be requested at any time during your charter, a full set of accounts will normally be submitted by your captain at the end of the cruise. 

In case of surpassing the amount of money already paid during your yacht charter (with the APA), additional funds (in cash) will be required at once. If there is an outstanding balance from the yacht charter, it should be settled in cash or by bank transfer before you disembark. In case of a remaining credit at the end of your charter, you will be fully reimbursed. 

If a transfer by car to and from the yacht is required, it can be arranged either by the charter company or by the yacht’s captain, payment for which will be deducted from your APA.

How can we make your yacht charter personalized?

To ensure a unique and tailor-made charter experience, we will send you a detailed questionnaire eight weeks before you embark on your yacht. You can tell us your group's preferences and special requirements, such as dietary or medical needs, any particular wishes regarding exercise, entertainment, or if you are celebrating a special occasion. 

Are internet and satellite TV connections available onboard?

In case you really need to get some work done during your vacation, no worries. On most yachts, there is mobile broadband internet and satellite TV, so you will stay connected to the rest of the world. Just keep in mind that the service can be limited in some areas (you are in the middle of the sea after all). If you anticipate regular usage of the internet, let us know prior to embarking, as upgrades might be subject to availability and additional fees may apply.

Is smoking allowed onboard?

Smoking is permitted only on the outside decks, and on some yachts, only in dedicated outdoor areas. Please consult our charter brokers for more information. For safety reasons, smoking indoors is strictly prohibited on all yachts.

Are tips for the crew mandatory?

Even though tips are not mandatory, the guests normally extend a gratuity to the devoted crew. The amount depends on the guest's satisfaction, but it is approximately 10% of the charter fee. The tips are equally distributed among all crew members by the captain.

Should I get any insurance?

In case of unforeseen circumstances that might prevent the charter, we highly recommend taking out the Cancellation and Curtailment Insurance to protect the investment. Besides that, the guests should be covered by Personal Accident and Medical Insurance, and their belongings are insured against theft, loss, or damage. Charterers’ Liability insurance is also highly recommended. Contact your broker for further assistance and additional advice regarding the insurance.

How are the charter rates calculated?

Charter rates are estimated weekly. If a charter exceeds seven days, they are calculated pro-rata against the weekly rate divided by seven and multiplied by the number of charter days. Keep in mind that some yachts are only chartered on a weekly (Saturday-Saturday or Sunday-Sunday) basis, especially during the high season.

High and low season rates vary depending on charter locations and types of yachts. The high rates apply to the most popular charter periods (July/August and Christmas/New Year), and to all major events. Low season rates apply to all other periods.

What are the charter terms?

Most charter rates are based on MYBA Terms, which entail that the yacht is in full commission, with all necessary equipment, properly insured for marine risks, and managed by a crew, whose wages, food, and clothing are the owner’s expense.

All other operating expenses are charged to the charterer and include (but are not limited to): fuel and lubricating oils for the yacht and her tenders; local taxes; pilotage; port, harbor, and marina dues; customs clearance; water and power; personal laundry; all provisions, wines, beers, spirits, soft drinks and consumables for the charterer’s group; shoreside excursions, telecommunication, and internet costs.

Please note that, occasionally, a yacht may offer an alteration on the terms described above. For further information about specific yachts, consult your broker.

Do any other taxes apply?

For charters in European waters, Value Added Tax and delivery costs may be charged on the gross Charter Fee, due to the European Union tax legislation. In other countries, local taxes may also apply. Depending on your chosen charter destination, our brokers will provide any prevalent rates.

Yacht charter

Gulet MALENA joined the Adriatic fleet in the summer 2013, just after she was fully refurbished in Croatia. Since then, this gulet has been well looked after by her owners, regularly maintained during winters with the addition of something new every year to refresh the look and feel of the boat. MALENA has a great charter record and a lot of that is due to her wonderful local crew of four.

Charter rates for 2024: High Season (22 June - 31 August): €19,500 + half board + €3000 APA Mid Season (25 May - 22 June & 31 August - 21 September): €18,000 + half board + €3000 APA Low Season (4 May - 25 May & 21 September - 5 October): €15,500 + half board + €3000 APA

The charter rate include: A week rental with four crew members, fuel for the yacht and generator work for approximately 4 hours per day/ air-conditioning, yacht's tender for the guests' transfer from/to the gulet, complete linen and towels, including beach towels and Croatian VAT.

Obligatory Extras: Half board – includes full breakfast and lunch at €450 per person per week (an extra meal can be arranged during the week at €50 per person with a maximum of 2 additional meals per week.) Children age 0-2 free of charge, children age 2-10 have 50% discount of a board arrangement. Marina fees and port taxes - this cost will be covered from the APA but the exact amount depends on the route.

DRINKS/BEVERAGES OPTIONS: Beverages according to an on-board price list (cost to be covered from APA) or one of the following options: • All-inclusive domestic package at €260 per person per week (includes: Croatian wine, beer, spirits, soft drinks, still and sparkling water, coffee, tea) • All-inclusive non-alcoholic drinks package at €150 per person per week • Drinks supplied according to preference list. A €1,200 service charge applies for the week.

Crew Gratuity: Although discretionary, a crew gratuity of 10-15% of the charter fee is customary.

CYBA/MYBA terms will apply.

APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance): APA is an estimate paid with the balance for covering running costs during the charter (food, drinks, fuel, mooring fees, and anything else that guests might need while on charter). Final accounts will be produced by the Captain at the end of the charter and any unused funds will be refunded in full to the Charterer directly. If the funds are not sufficient, the Captain will advise the Charterer accordingly and bills will be settled upon disembarkation.

Embarkation Saturday 17.00hr, Disembarkation 09.00hr Saturday.

Payment conditions: 50% of the charter rate within 7 days of signing the charter agreement, remaining 50% plus APA, at least 5 weeks before the beginning of the charter.

Captain:Frane Hudoletnjak Frane has been on the boat Malena for the past six years. Born in Split, he sets a fine example for his crew with his professionalism and dedication. As the captain, he strives to accommodate the guests on board to the best of his abilities, ensuring their needs and desires are met throughout the journey. With his interpersonal skills and attention to detail he creates a welcoming and hospitable atmosphere and makes each voyage on Malena a memorable experience. His leadership style inspires trust among the crew, fostering a cohesive and efficient team. With two years of scuba diving experience, he brings a deep understanding of the marine world to his role. Outside of his role as captain, he enjoys playing basketball and weightlifting. Engaging in these activities allows him to recharge and bring a refreshed mindset to his responsibilities on the boat Malena. Chef: Luka Josipović Luka was born in Đakovo is a culinary enthusiast whose passion for cooking was ignited by his deep love for his two daughters. Cooking for them became a creative outlet, and he discovered his true calling in the kitchen. Luka's culinary journey took an interesting turn when he embarked on the boat Malena, which has been his home for the past decade since its arrival from Turkey. Living on the boat has allowed Luka to fully embrace his love for nature and long walks. Being surrounded by the vast expanse of the open sea has inspired him to experiment with unique flavours and ingredients found in coastal regions. Luka's cuisine reflects his deep appreciation for the natural world, as he often incorporates locally sourced produce and seafood into his dishes.

Deckhand: Krešimir Širko Krešimir hails from the charming coastal town of Sibenik. With a perpetually positive attitude and a professional demeanour, Kresimir brings a radiant smile and unwavering dedication to his role as a deckhand. Krešimir's boundless enthusiasm and love for life shine through in every task he undertakes. Whether he's meticulously maintaining the vessel, assisting with navigational duties, or ensuring the safety and comfort of the crew and passengers, his commitment to excellence is unwavering. Despite the demanding nature of his job, Kresimir's infectious smile and cheerful disposition make him a joy to work alongside. Malena is a 27m charming gulet with 5 double cabins. All cabins are fitted with a double berth (two cabins are twin bedded), a set of reading light, a storage area beneath the berth, a full length wardrobe, and an independent AC unit. All cabins have an en-suite attached that is fitted with a good water pressure shower, a set of towels including beach towels, a set of toiletries and a hair dryer. Two double cabins are located in the aft whilst three remaining cabins are positioned in the bow.  The inside salon features a dining table with an oval sofa and chairs. Opposite the dining table is a small bar. Her best feature is the large aft deck with a dining area and a comfortable divan sofa behind. The sunbathing area with sunbeds runs between the foredeck and the bow. She is a perfect choice for two small families joining for a holiday.

Gulet Malena rental in Croatia! Gulet Malena is the 25 meters long gulet available for private cruises in Croatia offering lot of space and comfort to its guests.

Malena has 5 guest’s cabins and can comfortably accommodate 10 guests. There are 4 double cabins and one twin bed cabin. All the cabins are air-conditioned and have a private toilet with shower tub. Maximum work of air conditioning is 4-6 hours during the day. More working hours of air conditioning will be extra charged. During the night the air conditioning is off.

The salon of the gulet Malena is very spacious and elegantly decorated, having a large sofa with a dining table that can accommodate 12 guests and the yacht bar. The salon is equipped with TV and music system. The boats’ galley is situated below deck.

Gulet Malena has very large and spacious deck. Stern deck is a dining area with big dining table with chairs and a leisure sofa that is completely protected from the sun where our guests can relax and enjoy tasting lot of delicious meals. Sunbathing mattresses for 10 guests and the cushioned bench with the cocktail table are situated on the bow deck offering the possibility of relaxation and socializing with your family and friends.

Malena has 3 crew members: captain, cook, and sailor. The experienced and friendly crew is at the guests’ disposal all the time during the cruise.

Malena offers a good selection of recreational equipment and water toys including tender with 50 HP outboard engine, water ski, canoe, snorkeling, and fishing equipment.

The indoor lounge is very spacious and elegantly decorated—the ample seating area with a sofa and an elegant dining table. The guests can enjoy their favorite drinks at the bar,  watch TV, or listening favorite music.

The outdoor covered dining area on the aft deck is a special place for guests to enjoy their meals and drinks. It has an oversized couch, where guests can lay down after dining or have some coffee in front of beautiful scenic views.

The gulet’s spacious bow deck is a place to relax and soak up vitamin D, with sun mattresses and pillows. Guests can also enjoy the variety of water sports for fun in the Adriatic Sea!

At 26 meters and with 5 cabins, gulet Malena affords ample spaces above and below deck for 10 charter guests overall. 4 guest cabins have double beds whereas the remaining one is twin cabin. Air conditioning is available on demand throughout the yacht and all the cabins have lavatory facilities. The sense of comfort extends to the main salon with lots of natural lightning where guests can dine, relax on a comfortable sofa or simply enjoy different amenities such as TV, DVD player, music system and a yacht bar. Gulet's layout has been characterized by a very spacious deck, providing guests an utmost comfort and privacy. A lovely dining area is located on the stern, completely shaded and accompanied with a cozy sofa, allowing guests to relax and uncover the fascinating aromas of a Mediterranean cuisine. The bow provides numerous sun bathing mattresses and a cocktail table, perfect for lounging and having a pre-dinner drink on balmy summer nights. Guests onboard are attended by a 4 member professional crew that will use their experience and make every day of your cruise memorable and enjoyable. Gulet Malena is 25 meters in length and can accommodate up to 10 guests in her 5 comfortable cabins. The cabins are configured as 4 double and 1 twin cabin. All have air conditioning and en suite bathroom facilities. There is also a spacious salon, with a sitting/dining group and bar, TV, music system and internet. Gulet Malena is a perfect option for experiencing a private gulet cruise in Croatia.

The aft deck of Gulet Malenahas a shaded area, where you will find an al fresco dining table and chairs, plus a comfortable cushioned seating area. The fore deck has sun mattresses for you to enjoy the Croatian summer sunshine. There is also a cushioned bench with cocktail table, to take a drink while soaking in the the wonderful views. Water sports on board include, tender, water skis, ringo, kayak and snorkelling and fishing equipment. The captain and 3 crew are very attentive and will make sure your charter on the Adriatic coast is a splendid experience. Malena is suitable for families or smaller groups.

Charter Rates Include

Shipboard accommodation, permits, crew, insurance, all equipment on board, tender with outboard engine, linens and towels, fuel for main engine, 4 h of navigation per day, crew salaries, yacht cleaning, sojourn taxes, gasoline for tender, diesel for generator (6/h day), Internet connection, VAT.

Charter Rates Doesn’t Include

Transfers to or from the yacht/hotel/airport, shore excursions, adverse activities (scuba diving, big game fishing, rafting…), national park and park of nature entrances, guided tours, gratuities / tips for the crew.

Extra costs: Port and marina fees Dubrovnik visit fee on Split – Split route: 1.000 € Delivery Fee for embarkation / disembarkation in any other port except base port, if „empty leg” caused.

FOOD OPTIONS:

Half board (breakfast + lunch): 450 Eur per person per week. Full board (breakfast, lunch, dinner) 650 Eur per person per week. Drinks/beverages are not included in food option and must be taken at the yacht bar.

DRINKS/BEVERAGES OPTIONS : Drinks/beverages taken from the yacht bar and paid according to consummation. All inclusive option of Croatian alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks and beverages (Croatian wines/beers/liquors, soft drinks, water, milk, tea, coffee): 250 Eur per person per week. All inclusive option of non alcoholic beverages: 150 Eur per person per week. If all inclusive option is taken, please note it includes quality wines from standard boat bar offer, specially ordered wines are extra cost; foreign alcoholic drinks (like vodka, whiskey, wines, gin, champagnes etc.) are extra cost, if consumed.

Payment Options

We will require a 50 % deposit of the gulet rental to secure your reservation in Croatia, this is payable by bank transfer. The remaining balance including food monies, is payable 6 weeks before departure by bank transfer or alternatively the full amount may be paid in cash on arrival.

Does the price include the skipper?

The skipper is not included in the boat price. It will be possible to add the skipper during the confirmation procedure: the cost is usually between €180 and €250 per day plus food; the skipper requires a dedicated cabin. After checking with a BeBlue operator, it will be possible to request that the skipper sleeps in the dinette (central lounge).

What is the Charter Pack?

It is a compulsory, flat-rate extra that usually includes final cleaning plus other services provided by the base.

What are the additional costs?

The additional costs consist of the mandatory and optional extras. Out-of-pocket expenses and consumption will also be incurred during navigation. (e.g. estimated food galley 20€ per person per day, diesel fuel per week 150-300€, ports and buoys, nature parks, etc.).

What kind of documents will I receive from BeBlue after booking?

The booking will be confirmed online by entering the lease holder's details and the actual contract will be issued. You will receive a boarding pass 7 days before the departure with pre-boarding instructions and details.

How does reservation and cancellation work?

In order to confirm the boat Malena | Malena, 50% of the boat price must be paid and 35 days before departure the balance must be paid. Any optional and mandatory extras must be paid on site (unless otherwise requested). Croazia from Sibenik

Day 1: check-in.

Check-in available in the afternoon at the Charter offices in the Embarkation Marina. After finishing the quick procedures of taking over the boat (technical check-in) and boarding the galley, you can enjoy an aperitif and dinner near the Marina or alternatively set sail immediately and enjoy the first sailing.

We set sail in the morning and head south towards the island of Zirje, the biggest and southernmost in the Sibenik Archipelago. Known since ancient times for its abundance of fish as well as olive and fig groves, it will enchant you with its natural beauties and suggestive docks in the bays of Velika, Mala and Koromacna. In the evening, you can moor on the south in the bay of Stupica and go ashore for dinner, to try the local cuisine and excellent wines.

From Zirje, we head north towards the Kornati National Park: a natural reserve made up of 89 of the 152 islands constituting the Kornati Archipelago. A sailboat represents one of the few means of transport that can enter this natural paradise, among white jagged coasts washed by an unparalleled crystal clear sea. The islands are almost completely uninhabited, but you can find convenient docks for your lunch break and excellent restaurants where you can enjoy the best local cuisine with super fresh fish specialties in the evening.

We proceed to the north within the spectacular Kornati Archipelago. The marine weather conditions are always optimal for a quiet sailing along the eastern coast of Otok Kornat, among enchanted and secluded bays where we can stop to have lunch, go snorkeling and spend the night in complete relax.

North of Kornat you fill find the wonderful island of Otok Katina, connecting, as its latin name (“chain”) says, the Long Island of Dugi Otok to Kornat. Sailing in this area requires more attention given the presence of some shallow waters, but the bays on the south of the island will reward you with wonderful seabeds and safe docks where you can spend a peaceful night.

After breakfast, we sail to the north until we reach Otok Zut, where we can stop to have lunch and swim in Hiljaca, Saruscica or Bizikovica bay. All three are special for their white pebble beaches and a wild and uncontaminated nature. In the evening, you can moor in the suggestive Luka Zut bay and, if you like to have dinner on the seaside, you can find a convenient mooring at the dock of the elegant Restaurant Festa.

From Otok Zut, we proceed to the east in the direction of the islands of Vrgada, representing one of the most beautiful hidden gems on the Croatian coast. Closed off to mass tourism, this island is surrounded by a spectacular mini archipelago made of 15 islets to explore by boat, and still retains a timeless charm with the perfume of pine trees and beautiful beaches enclosed by olive trees, the perfect place to relax with baths and little shore excursions. Return to port is scheduled for late afternoon.

Day 8: Check-out

Disembarkation is scheduled in the early morning after breakfast.
