Oceanco Infinity delivered to its owner

Custom superyacht builder Oceanco celebrated a milestone with the recent delivery of Infinity. The 384-foot motoryacht is the largest ever built by the Dutch yard, and perhaps even more noteworthy is that it’s the largest ever to come from the Netherlands, which has an impressive roster of superyacht builders.

The 54-foot beam gave interior designers Sinot Yacht Architecture and Design, partnering with David Kleinberg Design Associates, many thousands of square feet to work with. Oceanco didn’t release any images of the interior, but said that it will consist of accommodations for up to 16 guests, an extensive wellness area with spa, sauna, gym and yoga studio, and what it called “best-in-class” crew quarters.

The yard paid particular attention to lowering noise across the yacht. The project underwent a specialized development process for the hull and propulsion systems to minimize vibration when Infinity is running, but also for active stabilization when held in place by GPS for long periods. There’s a growing science to ensuring the hull shape, which was designed by Lateral Naval Architects, delivers hydrodynamic efficiency. Yacht-builders like Oceanco see this as key to lowering carbon emissions across the segment.

“She is the result of impressive teamwork and represents the true power of co-makership that is central to all our projects,” said Oceanco CEO Marcel Onkenhout in announcing the delivery.

Besides the landmark Infinity , Oceanco is also working on the sailing yacht, project Y721, linked to Amazon founder Jeff Bezos . The 417-footer, expected to launch this summer, will be the world’s largest sailing yacht.

117m Oceanco flagship Infinity delivered

The 117 metre Oceanco superyacht Infinity , formerly known as Project Y719, has officially been delivered following successful sea trials earlier this year.

Infinity is both the largest yacht ever constructed at Oceanco and the largest to be built in the Netherlands. Although, the record-breaking build is soon set to be superseded by Oceanco 's in-build 127 metre sailing superyacht Project Y721 .

Espen Øino has been revealed as the yacht's exterior designer with naval architecture by Lateral Naval Architects . Her contemporary interior is by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design and David Kleinberg Design Associates , the latter of which previously worked on an 89 metre Oceanco by the same name. Infinity can accommodate up to 16 guests and she also features a wellness area with a spa, sauna, gym, and yoga studio.

According to the shipyard, Infinity boasts "best in class crew areas, mechanical systems and technology and an unprecedented level of onboard comfort" with a particular emphasis on low noise and vibration levels.

Marcel Onkenhout, chief executive of Oceanco, said: “She is the result of impressive teamwork from the owner’s team, Espen Øino, Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, David Kleinberg Design Associates, Lateral Naval Architects, and all Oceanco’s co-makers and strategic partners. She represents the true power of co-makership that is central to all our projects.”

Currently under construction at Oceanco is the 109 metre Y720 , which was rolled out of the shed in Zwijndrecht in March, the 110 metre Y722 and the 105 metre Y1050.

Coming March 20: Meet the all-new 2025 INFINITI QX80

  • Release Release

NASHVILLE, Tenn.   – The all-new 2025 INFINITI QX80 will be revealed on March 20 at Edge in Hudson Yards starting at 7 p.m. EDT. With a debut 100 stories above the Manhattan skyline and a performance from Jon Batiste - singer, songwriter and composer – in the background, INFINITI's all-new flagship will take luxury to new heights. INFINITI, in partnership with iHeartMedia, will livestream the reveal – available to watch here Opens in a new tab. .

The all-new 2025 INFINITI QX80 cleverly integrates technology to make each and every moment a little simpler and easier. The full-size SUV flagship leverages cameras, crisp touchscreens and the latest connected technology to usher in a new standard for luxury functionality.

Intuitive connection and entertainment

The all-new QX80 greets its driver with a pair of 14.3-inch, high-definition displays: One, ahead of the driver, serving as the instrument cluster; the second, a touchscreen mounted on the dashboard for entertainment, information and other vehicle controls. At the heart of the all-new QX80's infotainment is Google built-in 1 – an INFINITI-first – bringing the convenience of Google Maps, Google Assistant and more on Google Play 2 . Navigation to destinations is just as seamless as on your phone with always-updated Google Maps. Plus, the available Individual Audio system uses Klipsch® headrest speakers to play audible navigation directions to the driver and front passenger without disturbing other passengers.

Making the invisible, visible

A focus on extraordinary technology extends to innovative camera functionality that simplifies the drive. In the all-new 2025 INFINITI QX80, that commitment begins with Front Wide View 3 , which uses the vehicle's front camera to provide a wide, 170-degree vantage point shown on the in-vehicle displays. It's particularly beneficial for enhancing the driver's view past parked cars or around the corner of tight parking garages.

Similarly advantageous for navigating the suburban jungle is Invisible Hood View 4 . Combining the vehicle's exterior cameras with advanced image processing, the all-new QX80 projects an image of what's directly in front the vehicle's hood – including helpful markers of the tires' locations – onto the in-car displays as if one could see right through the engine bay. Far from a simple party trick, the Invisible Hood View feature helps with steering through narrow drive-through lanes, positioning the vehicle's wheels on a car wash track and myriad other tricky situations.

See how it all comes together in the video below with Ivan Espinosa, senior vice president of Global Product Strategy and Product Planning.

QX80 will also be on display at the 2024 New York International Auto Show, which is open to the public from Friday, March 29 through Sunday, April 7. Clients interested in more information on QX80 should visit www.new-QX80.com Opens in a new tab. for more details.

Moscow: City, Spectacle, Capital of Photography

Moscow: City, Spectacle, Capital of Photography , an exhibition of 20th-century photographs of Moscow, opens at Columbia University's Miriam and Ira D. Wallach Art Gallery on Wednesday, April 30, 2003 and remains on display through Saturday, June 21, 2003.

Moscow has been a powerful magnet for many Russian photographers of the 20th century. Moscow: City, Spectacle, Capital of Photography presents the work of 31 photographers, whose images have defined the visual experience of Moscow from the 1920s to the present. Diverse in form and strategy, the 90 photographs chosen for the exhibition trace the history of Russian documentary photography and offer insight into individual practices. From Aleksandr Rodchenko's constructivist visions and Evgenii Khaldei's humanist landscapes to Igor Moukhin's scenes of urban spectacle and alienation in the works of Russia's key 20th-century photographers, Moscow ventures beyond the expected image as a site of famous landmarks, architectural treasures and dramatic lifestyles.

Early 20th-century photographers Boris Ignatovich and Arkadii Shaikhet saw themselves in the vanguard of an emerging mass-media culture, defining with their cameras the visual experience of Soviet modernity. For nearly 70 years, Soviet photography was assigned the duty of maintaining the ideological rigidity of the Soviet State. Yet, as examples of the work of Iakov Khalip, Anatolii Egorov, Mikhail Savin, and Mark Markov-Grinberg show, Soviet photographic practices were much more complex than has been previously acknowledged. The works of these photographers remain intensely compelling to a modernist eye.

Contemporary Russian photographers, such as Lev Melikhov, Valerii Stigneev and Sergei Leontiev, engage with the legacy of the Soviet documentary photography. But for them the documentary is a complex and multivalent genre, which incorporates subjectivity, ambiguity and reflexivity and comments on social and cultural issues without losing sight of the position from which that commentary is made. In the recent photographs by Vladimir Kupriyanov, Igor Moukhin, Anna Gorunova and Pakito Infante, the "real" space of Moscow is replaced by an imaginary and optical spaces of virtuality.

The works in the exhibition are on loan from Moscow's Cultural Center Dom, and many are being shown outside Russia for the first time. In conjunction with the exhibition, the Wallach Art Gallery is publishing an illustrated catalogue with a scholarly essay by the exhibition curator, Nadia Michoustina, a Ph.D. candidate in Columbia University's Department of Slavic Languages. The essay presents a nuanced history of Russian photography of the 20th century, and contributes to an interpretation of extraordinary images.
