This place is the best, great dock master, tiki bar, staff! Stayed one night at the dock on our Cat while sailing up the west coast Meet some great friends Kirsten and John Whitehead, hope to see them again soon! The food was fresh and delicious at the Yacht Club and we will be back soon!

Spending a night here on Squisita

Fun July 4th party! Snow cones, pool games and a large water slide. The food was good. We are outside in the shade. Salads and burgers.

I have written about the month long celebration I am enjoying for my birthday. This time, 2 of my friends offered to treat me here to dinner, and it was absolutely lovely. Food, service, atmosphere could not have been better. There was a pasta buffet, so many choices, I wish I had another stomach to fill, there was just so much good to choose from. You need to be a member, or guest of a member to attend, so I am definitely glad I was invited here. EXCELLENT CHOICE!

I LOVE THIS PLACE. Very nice employees. Fun environment. We have had a membership there for almost 2 years. Great place to eat, swim, hang out , have a get together with friends, good location .

Ate dinner outside by the Tiki bar. Selected the chef's special...blackened grouper with blackened shrimp. Entree came with rice & snap peas. Excellent. Nice setting, John is a friendly bartender. We have eaten here multiple times since first review and joined club as members. Great staff and amenities. Chef Josh provides an excellent variety of seafood dishes.

This place was packed when I stumbled onto the solid dock, sea legs trembling beneath me, feet stained brown by the Suns rays, cowl up protecting my eyes from its radiating reflection of off calm water. I was parched, stressed, and sore after 13+ hours of being tossed by a salty sea, granule filled water droplets pelting my skin all day, leaving crystalline drops on all of my clothing as I powered through with the hopes of reprieve on the horizon. The bar was full when I arrived, with a lone bar tender servicing the entire place by himself. Turns out, a wedding party had booked the main restaurant, and any spontaneous guests were being reroute do to the outside bar. It's really quite a nice little dock bar, with a good draft beer selection, along with all of the traditional liquor combinations you might want. The bartender, John, was overwhelmed, but very cool, and he made sure everyone knew what was going on. He was definitely skilled, and provided great service, especially considering the deluge of customers that had surged into his limited space. The chicken wings were crispy but moist, the nachos weren't bad, and the Greek salad was quite good! The food was tasty, the bartender John handled the situation admirably, provided good service, AND miraculously maintained a great attitude, and I was a satisfied customer! I hope he's there if you go- he was headed to Poland for a well deserved break last I checked....

The Venice Yacht Club's Renovated Tiki Bar Is Considered One Of The Best In The State

It’s a great time to be at the Venice Yacht Club. With recent renovations and three dining options at the club’s stunning waterfront location on Robert’s Bay, this Venice institution has tapped into a modern vibe that is drawing in a lively, friendly crowd. Offering three dining experiences for its members—fine dining in the Main Dining Room, sporty-casual Pearson’s Cove, and ultra-relaxed at the rooftop Tiki Bar—the VYC offers a dining and social experience for everyone, always featuring the finest ingredients. Executive Chef Josh Arent rotates his menus regularly, taking advantage of seasonally available delicacies.

“I love the fresh fish he sources,” says VYC General Manager Bruce Furman (pictured in our Table of Contents). “Chef Josh puts so much care into what he does, he can tell you where and when your fish was caught. He cooked a delicious wahoo for me that was caught right off Jupiter.” During the pandemic, the club has been paying extraordinary attention to health safety and social distancing at its dining rooms and tiki bar, and offering curbside takeout, including ‘Family Fill-Up’ meals that are both delicious and reasonably priced. It has also added Covid regulations to its handbook, so all 50 staff know just what to do to make guests feel safe.

The VYC has what many consider to be one of the best Tiki Bars in the state, with an incredible view. 

“Everyone in the Florida Council of Yacht Clubs loves our Tiki Bar,” says Bruce. “It has been fully updated and is one of the social hubs of the club.”

An active, community-oriented club, the VYC offers a variety of memberships. While connecting to the water is always the club’s goal, through wine clubs, chef’s tables, public service opportunities and more, the true success of the club are the good memories members make there.

“We have an excellent membership at our club,” Bruce says. “People love coming together here for fine food and a great time.”

“Great Tiki Bar” Review of Venice Yacht Club

Have visited many times with member friends. Inside is nice, but the TIki Bar is great. On the water with a wide choice of seating, the vibe is tropical and upbeat. Decorated boats at the holidays are so colorful. Florida at its best.

Vence Yacht Club is beautifully located and a very nice building. Being seated outside a the Tiki Bar makes for a pleasant experience. However, once seated, you must now submit yourself to being treated more rudely than I have ever experienced. Although members for many years, neither of our servers could seem to remember our name and repeatedly said it wrong. Despite not being very busy, they acted like we were running them ragged and literally slammed drinks and food down on the table! Everyone that had the Clam Chowder agreed that it tasted like it came from a can. The fish tasted like it had been frozen. This place needs to up their game!

Beautiful restaurant with great views! The food and service can't be beat. Last time we were here we had stone crabs. While cracking one, I cut my finger and the waiter noticed from the other side of the restaurant and quickly brought over a bandage for me! Love to eat here when we are in town.

Drinks at the tiki bar, then dinner upstairs. Lovely intimate setting and great view of the water. Service was non-intrusive, but attentive. All six of us gave an excellent raring to our food. Three crab cake meals, one halibut, one veal porcini and one ribeye and all were delicious!

Great location, just inside the Venice Inlet off the Golf of Mexico… Friendly folks especially harbormaster Ted George and the bartender John at the pool bar.

We met friends for drinks and dinner at this beautiful facility. Incredible views wonderful drinks and great food for our group. The service was excellent and we would gladly return.

Visited with friends who are members. The interior is beautiful and the outdoor tiki bar great. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Food and drinks were wonderful and well prepared. Special summer membership is a great deal. No boat - no problem. Reciprocal to other yacht clubs.

Beautiful Club that family had a private rehearsal dinner at. It is lovely, clean and very picturesque. I enjoyed the few hours I spent here and only wish I had more time to enjoy my surroundings! If I lived in the Venice area, I would... have all my family events there. It is an excellent facility. More

Continuing with my daily celebrating of my month of July Birthday, I was invited here together with my best friend to participate in the "Pasta Buffet", which had such a great variety of pastas, sauces, shrimp, scallops, meats, vegetables...all to be added and then cooked... right in front of you. Very difficult to choose! Doug Laudenslager, who I believe is Manager there, even treated me to my beloved mussels as an appetizer, and they were so tasty. Loved the garlicky tomato sauce they came in. Of course after that, plus the warm rolls, plus the cheese and crackers, left very little room in my stomach for that wonderful pasta creation. However....I got to take some home for my nightly midnight snack...I'm thrilled. This was a wonderful birthday celebration and I thank my gracious hosts for this gift. HIGHLY RECOMMEND - More

Pleasant setting with very professional staff. Dining experience was terrific. Our group was from the Marco Island Yacht Club. We stayed on our boats, but enjoyed the hospitality of the Club and local restaurants. If you belong to FCYC, make this one of your stops.

We have frequented the VYC over the years but the food was really delightful last night. As the previous review stated the "Pasta Night" is the bomb, so if you can finagle a member to take you...be sure it's Wednesday evening!

We had a birthday party for Mom who had been a member for over 40 years. Planning this party was not the easiest due to communications with the event coordinator. She was not very responsive to our emails and phone calls. I talked to her... the day before the event to let her know how we wanted tables set up, (for decorations I had planned), and to give her table runners and picks for appetizers. She wrote things down for table arrangements. Nothing I discussed with her happened. I had to change my plans for decorating 3 hours before the event because she did not do her job. Things I had purchased did not get used because she failed in letting the appropriate people know how we wanted tables set up and arranged. She also did not want to take the things I had planned on using for appetizers and drinks the day before the event. So, of course it was too late to use them the next day because everything was already prepared. We gave her a head count a week before. She said she did not get it. Too many problems that should not have been difficult if she did her part in communicating with the necessary people to get the job done. We paid a lot of money for the party to not get the simple requests we asked for. I must say the food was excellent. The servers were excellent. The rest of the staff was excellent. More

Chef Josh prepared a table side dinner for 15! Upstairs in our beautiful dinning room! We were treated to the “How to!” A great evening ! Consider joining! Great food fun social events and great fuel pricing for boats!

We had our wedding reception here. They helped us along the way with every question we had. Josh, the Chef was amazing as well. He accommodated to my "food snob" husband even. :) The view we had was just gorgeous. Of course, by time we... showed up, we didn't get to see much of the view, but our friends and family did! We were there for a fund-raiser dinner for the Venice Friendship Centers and they served one of the best dinners we've ever had at a function like this. The restaurant is beautiful and looks out on the harbor. The bar couldn't be nicer with the... same view. The main course was excellent, but it's the chocolate lava cake that made the biggest hit! Seriously, think back to any big dinner you've ever attended. There were about 150 people there that night and the food came out on time, hot and was delicious! It's definitely an amazing location for an event like this! More

Arrival by Car

From I-75 southbound exit #200, Nokomis, this will take you to US-41. Go south on US-41 to Business 41, turn west onto Business US-41. Cross over ICW bridge, turn right at second traffic light - Venice Ave. 

Continue on Venice Avenue to the beach, turn right onto The Esplanade. After about 1/2 mile, turn left on to Tarpon Center Drive, continue on Tarpon Center Drive about a 1/4 mile the Club is on your right.

From I-75 northbound, exit at #193, Venice / Englewood . Head west on Venice Ave. and follow instructions above. From US-41 north or south at Venice Avenue turn west and follow directions above. Main Dining Room and Sunset Room: Tuesday to Saturday Lunch:  Shorts Permitted 1 Tuesday to Friday Dinner:  Shorts Permitted Saturday Dinner:  Casual 2  required, Shorts are Not Permitted Sunday: Breakfast / Brunch and Dinner:  Casual required, Shorts are Not Permitted Main Bar and Pearson's Cove: (all day) Tuesday to Sunday:  Shorts Permitted Tiki Bar: (all day) Tuesday to Sunday:  Bathing attire 3  Permitted 1  Shorts Permitted:  Gentlemen wear dressy slacks or shorts, collared shirt, turtleneck or dressy collarless shirt with sleeves (no tank tops); Ladies wear skirts, dressy slacks or dressy shorts and tops. For Gentlemen and Ladies, no tee shirts, and no flip-flops, torn or cutoff clothing or inappropriate tee shirts. Upscale denim is allowed. Gentlemen’s hats and caps are not to be worn in the Club at any time. 2  Casual:  Gentlemen wear dressy slacks, collared shirt, turtleneck or dressy collarless shirt with sleeves (no tank tops); Ladies wear skirts, dressy slacks and tops. For Gentlemen and Ladies, no jeans, no shorts, no tee shirts and no flip-flops. Upscale denim is allowed. Gentlemen’s hats and caps are not to be worn in the Club at any time. 3  Bathing Attire:  Bathing suits and bathing attire are allowed outside at the Tiki bar and in the Ready Room only.
