Built for a Russian owner under an extreme blanket of secrecy, Serene, the first yacht from Fincantieri, the large Italian commercial shipyard in Muggiano, Italy, was launched in September 2010 with completion, blue hull paint and sea trials in 2011. She is the largest yacht ever launched in Italy and features more than 4,000 square meters of interior space among seven decks, plus two helipads and a hangar. She reportedly carries a 100-metre submersible. Standout features include a sauna and adjacent snow room for a true Nordic experience.

SERENE is a 133.9 m Motor Yacht, built in Italy by Fincantieri and delivered in 2011.

Her top speed is 20.0 kn and she boasts a maximum range of 6000.0 nm when navigating at cruising speed, with power coming from two MTU diesel engines. She can accommodate up to 24 guests in 12 staterooms, with 52 crew members. She has a gross tonnage of 8231.0 GT and a 18.6 m beam.

She was designed by Espen Oeino International , who also completed the naval architecture. Espen Oeino International has designed 67 yachts and created the naval architecture for 17 yachts for yachts above 24 metres.

Her interior was designed by Reymond Langton Design , who has 33 other superyacht interiors designed in the BOAT Pro database - she is built with a Teak deck, a Steel hull, and Aluminium superstructure.

SERENE is in the top 5% by LOA in the world. She is one of 70 motor yachts longer than 100m, and, compared to similarly sized motor yachts, her top speed is 0.14 kn above the average, and her volume 1025.86 GT above the average.

SERENE is currently sailing under the Cayman Islands flag, the 2nd most popular flag state for superyachts with a total of 1363 yachts registered. Serene is a 134 metre motor yacht which was launched in 2011 by Fincantieri Yachts, and is believed to be one of the most technologically advanced in the world.

The Fincantieri Yachts team developed the Serene project from a groundbreaking concept design by Espen Oeino with the interior spaces designed by Pascale Reymond from Reymond Langton Design.

She has seven decks, a hangar and two helicopter landing pads, a large sea-water swimming pool and a tender garage suitable to fit a submarine.

Delivered in 2011, she is one of the largest yachts in the world and a benchmark in technology, innovation and style, not to mention winner of the World Superyacht Awards 2012 in the 3,000-tons-and- above category.

Fincantieri could not have had a more spectacular debut in the sea’s most exclusive market segment with a project reflecting the importance they place on the sea, technology and owner satisfaction.

Serene has been built to meet SOLAS regulations (Safety of Life at Sea), under the supervision of the Lloyd’s Register of Shipping and finally registered under the brand new, at that time, PYC (Passenger Yacht Code).

SERENE Yacht – Dreamlike $400M Superyacht

The impressive yacht was designed by Espen Øino International, with interior design by Reymond Langton Design.

Built by shipbuilders Fincantieri, SERENE was delivered in 2011 from their Muggiano-based shipyard. The superyacht is the epitome of luxury and offers an excellent yachting experience.

 British designer  Reymond Langton Design  penned the interior design of the SERENE yacht. The superyacht can accommodate 24 guests across 12 cabins in 1 master suite, 1 VIP, seven doubles, and three twins.

There is accommodation for 62 crew on the 134m yacht that ensures that guests have a lavish and luxurious experience.

The yacht’s amenities include seven swimming pools, an underwater viewing room, and a health spa.

The beach club stretches almost throughout the interior length of the yacht, providing an excellent indoor-outdoor area for guests to enjoy on the water level.

The beach club features one of the most advanced swimming pools built onboard a superyacht.

A dedicated children’s playroom makes the yacht a family-friendly yachting experience for guests. There is an indoor climbing wall, a top deck with a wet bar, and a jacuzzi.

The SERENE yacht has another spa pool on the sun deck for relaxation on the water, surrounded by sun loungers.

The yacht also has two helicopter pads. The fun features of the yacht include a pizza oven and a teppanyaki grill on board. The yacht’s interior is defined as modern and luxurious with attention to detail.

The yacht also features many social spaces for guests to use and a conference room to conduct business on board.

Espen Øino International penned the expert exterior design of the SERENE yacht.

The 134m vessel presents an imposing with six decks, a blue steel hull, and a white aluminum superstructure. She was built by  Fincantieri  in their Muggiano shipyard and delivered in 2011.

The yacht was the first ever to be built by the Italian shipyard, which had primarily focused on commercial ships before.

With a range of 5000 nautical miles, she has a maximum speed of 18 knots and a cruising speed of 14 knots.

The Serene is a culmination of more than 50 years of strong growth and creativity by Fincantieri whose base of operations is in Italy where it all started. The largest yacht that has ever been built in Italy the mega yacht Serene is a grand achievement for both the shipbuilder and its ultimate owner. The Serene is in a very exclusive class since it is a member of the 10 largest yachts in the world club exclusivity makes this vessel very desirable amongst the world’s wealthiest connoisseurs of yachting. The Serene has been designed with the incorporation of both sophistication and technology in mind making them one and the same. All of this adds up to a yacht that can serve as both a base of corporate operations and personal playground, and will set sail by years end making way for Fincatieri’s next project at 140 metres.

The 134-metre superyacht hull is a remarkable sight because of its impressive size and obvious claim as the centerpiece of any port it is at berth in. The hull of the Serene has been built to comply with the top class of international safety regulations regarding passenger transports. The hull of the Serene is constructed using the latest state of the art materials that will not only make it incredibly tough, but lightweight for a better max speed. Seven decks make up the Serene from top to bottom, which also includes a hanger, two helo-pads, and a salt-water swimming pool that can accommodate its service craft including a submarine that can reach 100 metres in depth.

There has been no expense spared with regard to the interior of the Superyacht Serene as well. There is more than 4500 square metres of interior space that includes 2700 square metres of opulent luxury that Pascale Reymond personally designed. The bridge of this awesome ship is a captain’s dream workspace with the best in operating systems that can do the job safer, easier, and comfortably. Designed according to the requirements of the maximum class of international safety regulations for passenger transport, the 134m Fincantieri yacht SERENE boast an impressive number of seven decks, a hangar and two helicopter landing pads. One of the most outstanding features on board of this vessel must be the large sea-water swimming pool, which is able to accommodate a service craft and a submarine with a diving depth of up to 100 metres. With a hull in steel and an aluminium superstructure, Serene is presumably powered by eight MTU engines.

SERENE’s interior space extends over 4,500 square metres comprising 2700 metres of super luxury space designed by Studio Pascale Reymond Langton Design, one of the most prestigious companies around. A Closer Look at Serene: The $330 Million Yacht Bill Gates Chartered

While many people must scrimp and save to afford a family holiday, that is not the case for the rich and famous, who have the financial means to go wherever they want whenever they want. You will not find them in budget motels or trying out a destination’s free attractions. Instead, wealthy people can choose the most luxurious accommodation and unique experiences possible for their vacation. One such person who can afford these luxuries is Bill Gates who, with a personal net worth of $95.4 billion, is the second richest person in the world. He has even chartered a yacht worth $330 million to enjoy a vacation with his family.

According to Boat International , Gates chartered a yacht called ‘Serene’ for an estimated $5 million per week. He did this to enjoy a break away with his wife and three children. The family enjoyed a week together on the yacht just off the coast of Porto Cervo, Sardinia, in August 2014.

The 133-foot yacht is one of the largest in the world, and it is owned by Yuri Scheffler, the Stolichnaya vodka magnet. This yacht was delivered to him in 2011, and he has had it on the charter market ever since. Built by the Italian shipyard Fincantieri, it has a rather impressive crew of 53 to take care of the needs of those who charter the yacht. So, what is on the inside of this ship to make it such an amazing experience that is worthy of the high price tag?

The Yacht Charter Fleet has ways for its travelers to enjoy activities both off and onboard. The helipad is available so that guests can take trips to the mainland to enjoy a little sightseeing, a meal in a restaurant, or a local activity. There are also jet-skis available for some fun one the waves around the boat or to travel back to the mainland to enjoy some time away from the yacht. Furthermore, the yacht has its very own submarine. However, you might wonder why anyone would want to get away from the yacht when there is so much to enjoy onboard, including activities for children. Just some of the activities and amenities on board for entertainment include a climbing wall, a trans-deck waterslide, a snow room, a playroom, multiple pools, and a cinema. This means that there are plenty of things onboard to keep the children entertained.

This yacht is not all about the kids having fun, as there are plenty of things for the adults, too. In fact, Serene has a myriad of amenities spread over its six decks that make this a unique way to vacation. From the outside, one of the ship’s most impressive features is its supersized bathtub on the sun deck. The award-winning Serene has a private beach club that has a secluded sunbathing area and a sauna. There are also two Jacuzzis and a sundeck dance floor. Opposite the relaxing hot tun tucked underneath the ship’s observational deck is a fully stocked wet bar with extra sun loungers.

Two of the indoor living and entertaining spaces include a cocktail lounge and a piano bar, while outdoor there are various al fresco dining areas, such as a wet bar, a barbeque, a Teppanyaki grill, and a pizza oven. An unusual space in this yacht is the underwater observation lounge, which many people would find a relaxing area as they watch marine life existing in tranquility around them. Serene also has rather impressive accommodation and it can accommodate up to 24 guests. There are 12 luxurious staterooms, include a master suite, a VIP suite, seven double suites, and three twin cabins. The interior design is the work of Espen Oeino with styling by Reymond Langton. The duo has created living spaces that are stylish and opulent while also being comfortable and versatile.

One of the most impressive areas in terms of styling is the sky lounge. This room is decorated in shades of cream that is accented by darker colors and finished with wooden fixtures. It is equipped with sofas, chairs, and coffee tables for relaxing, and boasts some of the most impressive views from the ship which you can view from almost any vantage point. Another fantastic space is the main lounge, which is a more formal area for entertaining. The main color used is white, which gives the room a bright and airy feel, and some warmth is added with darker tones. Central to the room is a piano, which is surrounded by cocktail tables. An unusual feature of this room is its chandelier. The lounge is located directly above the main dining area, and the chandelier drops between the two rooms.

A double staircase leads down to the chic dining area below. It is set to accommodate a maximum of 24 guests and features two 12-seater tables. However, there is the possibility of entertaining even more people as the tables are extendable and there is plenty of space. This means you can host a banquet in this room. Floor-to-ceiling windows on both sides of the rooms give spectacular panoramic ocean views.

Bill Gates’ time on the yacht with his family is part of his plan to take a more relaxed approach to life and to spend some time away from the office. He has said that he doesn’t have the energy he had when he was younger and plans to balance running his Microsoft Empire and enjoying time with his family better now that he is older. This includes taking vacations away with his loved one. Serene and other chartered yachts are the perfect way for this billionaire businessman to relax and have some fun in comfort and privacy.

Since Gates’ vacation on the yacht, Scheffler has sold the superyacht to Mohammed bin Salman, the deputy crown prince of Saudi Arabia says Yacht Harbor . The Saudi Arabian royal paid a whopping $458 million for the yacht in July 2015. The yacht was once the ninth largest in the world, but it has now dropped into the 15th place because even more impressive superyachts have been built since.

Was ist die Serene Yacht?

Die Serene Yacht ist eine 134 Meter lange Mega-Yacht, die 2011 von der italienischen Werft Fincantieri gebaut wurde. Sie wurde ursprünglich für den russischen Milliardär Yuri Shefler entworfen. Die Yacht verfügt über 12 Kabinen, die bis zu 24 Gäste beherbergen können, sowie eine Besatzung von 52 Personen. Zu den beeindruckenden Annehmlichkeiten der Yacht gehören:

Wer besitzt die Serene Yacht?

Die Serene Yacht hat seit ihrer Fertigstellung mehrere Besitzerwechsel erlebt. Im Jahr 2015 verkaufte Yuri Shefler die Yacht an den saudischen Kronprinzen Mohammed bin Salman für geschätzte 500 Millionen US-Dollar.

Der Kronprinz nutzte die Yacht für seine privaten Reisen und lieh sie auch an andere prominente Persönlichkeiten aus, wie zum Beispiel Bill Gates, der die Yacht 2014 für seinen Urlaub in Sardinien mietete.

Im Jahr 2019 wurde die Yacht jedoch bei einem Brand schwer beschädigt, als sie in einem Hafen in Ägypten vor Anker lag. Die Yacht wurde zur Reparatur nach Spanien geschleppt, wo sie bis heute bleibt. Es ist nicht klar, ob der Kronprinz die Yacht behalten oder verkaufen wird, oder wie viel sie nach der Restaurierung wert sein wird.

Das Interieur

Das Interieur der Serene Yacht ist ebenso beeindruckend wie das Exterieur. Die Yacht wurde von dem renommierten britischen Designstudio Reymond Langton Design gestaltet, das einen Art-Deco-inspirierten Stil wählte, der Eleganz und Komfort ausstrahlt.

Die Yacht bietet ihren Gästen eine Wohnfläche von etwa 4.500 Quadratmetern, die sich über sieben Decks erstreckt. Die Innenausstattung umfasst:

Das Exterieur

Der Preis der Serene Yacht

Der ursprüngliche Kaufpreis der Serene Yacht lag bei etwa 330 Millionen US-Dollar, als sie 2011 von der italienischen Werft Fincantieri an den russischen Milliardär Yuri Shefler ausgeliefert wurde. Dies war bereits ein hoher Preis für eine Yacht dieser Größe und Qualität, aber er stieg noch weiter an, als Shefler die Yacht 2015 an den saudischen Kronprinzen Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) verkaufte.

Der genaue Verkaufspreis ist nicht bekannt, aber laut verschiedenen Quellen soll er zwischen 450 und 500 Millionen US-Dollar gelegen haben. Das bedeutet, dass Shefler einen Gewinn von mindestens 120 Millionen US-Dollar gemacht hat, was einem Anstieg von 36% entspricht. Dies ist ein bemerkenswerter Wertzuwachs für eine vier Jahre alte Yacht, die normalerweise an Wert verliert, je älter sie wird.

Allerdings wurde die Yacht 2019 bei einem Brand schwer beschädigt, als sie in einem Hafen in Ägypten vor Anker lag. Die Yacht wurde zur Reparatur nach Spanien geschleppt, wo sie bis heute bleibt. 10 Al Said Mega Yacht – 240 Millionen Euro

Die „Al Said“ wurde im Auftrag des Sultans des Oman „Qabus ibn Said“ gefertigt. Eigentümer ist offiziell das Sultanat Oman, welches die Luxusyacht dem Sultan des Oman zur Verfügung stellt. Die Yacht wurde in Deutschland gebaut und kann bis zu 65 Gäste beherbergen. Rund 150 Crew-Mitglieder sollen sich dabei um den angemessenen Luxus der Gäste kümmern.

Ein eigenes Kino sowie eine großzügige Saunalandschaft soll den Gästen die nötige Unterhaltung bieten. Außerdem hat die Yacht einen Konzertsaal, wo ein 50-köpfiges Orchester seinen Platz findet.  Ein Hubschrauberlandeplatz am Deck des Mega-Schiffes gehört wie bei fast allen aufgelisteten Luxusyachten mittlerweile zum Standard.

9 The Rising Sun – 250 Millionen Euro

Die Yacht wurde ursprünglich 2004 für den Oracle Gründer  Larry Ellison gebaut. Im Jahr 2007 gab er bereits die Hälfte seiner Yacht-Anteile an David Geffen ab bevor er sie 2010 ganz verkaufte. Der Grund für den Verkauf war laut Ellison die unpraktische Größe der Yacht. Er lies sich später die kleinere Yacht „Musashi“ bauen.

Die „Rising Sun“ wurde wie auch die meisten anderen Luxusyachten in Deutschland gebaut und hat auf ihren 5 Decks mir rund 8000 m2 insgesamt 82 Räume. Das Deck besteht komplett aus Teak-Holz und hat einen eigenen Basketballplatz, welcher jederzeit als Hubschrauberlandeplatz umfunktioniert werden kann. Eine 45 köpfige Crew ist für das Wohl der bis zu 16 Gäste zuständig.  Oprah Winfrey machte übrigens bereits Urlaub auf dieser Yacht.

8 „A“ Motor-Yacht – 270 Millionen Euro

Die „A“ Motor-Yacht ist im Besitz des Russischen Milliardärs Andrey Melnichenko. Das Design wurde an ein Uboot bzw. an ein US-Kampfschiff mit Radard-Tarnfunktion angelehnt, wodurch diese einzigartige und besondere Form entstand. Auf der Vorderseite des Schiffs befindet sich ein Helipad und ein Pool. An der Rückseite befindet sich ein weiterer Pool und ein Lounge-Bereich mit Jacuzzi, welcher einen Glasboden besitzt um in die schiffseigene Disco hinunter zu sehen. Im Innenbereich befinden sich drei Aufzüge um in die Eignersuite als auch die sechs Gästesuiten zu gelangen. Das verbaute Glas soll auch einen Bombenangriff überstehen. Angeblich steht die Motor-Yacht mittlerweile zum Verkauf, da die Segelyacht „A“ (Platz 4) die Nachfolge der Motor-Yacht angetreten hat.

7 Dubai Yacht – 325 Millionen Euro

Platz 7 der teuersten Luxusyachten belegt diese Lady. Die Dubai, drittlängeste Yacht der Welt wurde ebenfalls in Deutschland von Blohm + Voss in Kooperation mit Lürssen gebaut. Jedoch wurde 1997 der Bau vom ursprünglichen Auftraggeber gestoppt und erst 2001 von Scheich „Muhammad bin Raschid Al Maktum“ übernommen. Der Herrscher des Emirates Dubai lies die gleichnamige und halbfertige Yacht inklusive Schmimmdock nach Dubai transportieren und von der lokal ansässigen Platinum Yachts FZCO Werft fertigstellen. Die Dubai war von 2006 – 2009 die längste der Luxusyachten der Welt und kann auf acht Decks bis zu 115 Gäste beherbergen.

6 „A“ – Die größte Segelyacht der Welt – 400 Millionen Euro

Die „SY A“ ist mit ihren drei Masten die größte Segelyacht der Welt und ebenfalls in Besitz des Russischen Milliardärs Andrey Melnichenko, welcher auch bereits die „A“ Motoryacht besitzt. Damit ist der Russe bereits das zweite Mal in unserer Liste vertreten. Die Masten sind dabei fast 90 Meter hoch und das größte der automatischen Segel hat eine Fläche von 1.767 m². Die A Segelyacht kann als Antrieb auf ihre drei Segeln zurückgreifen, aber auch mit den zwei verbauten Dieselaggregaten oder rein von zwei Elektromotoren betrieben werden. Das Deck besteht aus Teak-Holz. Erbaut wurde die größte Luxus-Segelyacht der Welt ebenfalls in Deutschland von der Werft Nobiskrug in Rendsburg.

5 Topaz Yacht – 420 Millionen Euro

Der Besteller und Besitzer der Topaz Superyacht ist Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan , Mitglied der Herrscherfamilie von Abu Dhabi. Der Scheich ist übrigens auch Besitzer des Premier League Fußballclubs Manchester City. Erbaut wurde die Yacht in Deutschland von Lürrsen in Bremen. Auf den acht Decks befinden sich zwei Hubschrauber Landeplätze und ein Jacuzzi. In 26 Kabinen bietet die Topaz einen Platz für bis zu 62 Gäste. Über die Innenausstattung ist leider sehr wenig bekannt. Star-Innendesigner Terence Disdale zeigt sich für das Interieur verantwortlich, der auch bei Arbramowitschs Mega-Yacht Hand anlegte.

4 Dilbar – 450 Millionen Euro

Die Dilbar Superyacht ist zwar nicht die längste Yacht, allerdings vom Volumen gesehen her die „größte“ Yacht der Welt. Auf 3.800 Quadratmeter Wohnfläche sollen in „nur“ 12 Luxus-Kabinen bis zu 24 Gäste Platz finden. Allerdings besitzt das Mega-Schiff 53 weitere Kabinen für die Crew. Der Luxus an Board ist also für den russischen Milliardär Alisher Usmanov (geschätztes Vermögen: 12,44 Milliarden Euro) und seine Gäste Programm. Die Dilbar besitzt den größten Pool, welcher in einer Yacht je verbaut wurde. Er soll 25 Meter lang sein und 180 Kubikmeter Wasser führen. Auf dem Deck befinden sich zwei Hubschrauber-Landeplätze. In nur 52 Monaten wurde die Yacht in der deutschen Werft Lürssen gefertigt.

3 Serene Yacht – 500 Millionen Euro

Die „Serene“ Yacht wurde vom Russischen Wodka Milliardär „Yuri Shefler“ bei der italienischen Werft Fincantieri in Auftrag gegeben und lief 2011 vom Stapel. Bill Gates hat sich die Yacht im Jahr 2014 für einen Urlaub ausgeliehen. Preis: 5 Millionen US-Dollar/Woche. Insgesamt finden 24 Gäste in 12 luxuriösen Kabinen Platz. Außerdem beinhaltet die Serene eine Kletterhalle, zwei Helipads, drei Swimmingpools, ein Kino und einen kompletten Spa Bereich. Unter Deck soll ein Unterwasser-Raum eingerichtet sein und genügend Platz für ein Uboot bieten. Die Serene belegt damit Platz 3 der teuersten Luxusyachten.

Im Jahr 2015 hat der Saudiarabische Prinzen „Mohammed bin Salman“ die Serene für 500 Millionen Euro gekauft und seit dem befindet sie sich in seinem Besitz. Angeblich ist das teuerste Gemälde der Welt „Salvator Mundi“ von Leonardo da Vinci an Board der Yacht. Es wurde 2017 für 450 Millionen US-Dollar versteigert und sollte eigentlich im Abu Dhabi Louvre ausgestellt werden. Der Prinzen soll das Gemälde allerdings so gefallen haben, dass er es auf seiner Yacht aufhängen lies. Diese Vermutung wurde jedoch bisher nicht bestätigt.

Die „Azzam“ ist die längste Yacht der Welt und im Besitz des Präsidenten der Vereinigten Arabischen Emirate: Scheich „Chalifa bin Zayid Al Nahyan“. Erbaut und fertig gestellt wurde das Wunderwerk der Technik in Bremen von der Lürssen Werft im Jahr 2013. Insgesamt ist die Yacht in sieben Decks unterteilt. Das Herzstück ist dabei der Azzam-Salon im mittleren Teil des Schiffes, welcher 29 Meter lang und 18 Meter breit ist und keine tragenden Stützen beinhaltet, also völlig offen gebaut ist. 94.000 PS treiben die Azzam auf eine Geschwindigkeit von bis zu 30 Knoten an. Ein Hubschrauber-Landeplatz ist bei dieser Größer sowieso schon Standard. 🙂

1 Eclipse – Die teuerste Yacht der Welt – 850 Millionen Euro

Der russische Multi-Milliardär Roman Abramowitsch ist der Besitzer der teuersten Yacht der Welt. Die „Eclipse“ war von 2010 bis zum Bau der „Azzam“ 2013 die längste Yacht der Welt und wurde in Hamburg gefertigt. Obwohl die Eclipse nach dem Stapellauf noch einmal eine Verlängerung bekam, musste Abramowitsch den Titel schnell wieder abgeben. Allerdings ist die Eclipse aufgrund von mehrfachen Aufrüstungen mittlerweile um einiges teurer als die Yacht des Scheichs. Ursprünglich lagen die Schätzungen des Kaufpreis bei rund 350 Millionen Euro.

Nach dem Umbau 2015 soll die teuerste Yacht der Welt fast eine Milliarde Euro wert sein . Sie bietet einen Platz für 36 Gäste und 70 Bedienstete und beinhaltet eine eigene Disco, ein Kino, zwei Pools (einer davon 16 Meter lang), 2 Hubschrauber-Landeplätze, 4 Motorboote und 20 Jetskis. Außerdem ist ein unglaubliches Sicherheitssystem verbaut, welches mit einem Raketenabwehrsystem und einem Uboot für den Ernstfall ausgestattet ist. Zudem wurden gepanzerte Wände und schusssicheres Glas verbaut und auch gegen Paparazzis will der Russe mit einem Laser-System vorgehen, welches die Digitalkameras blendet.
