It's a mini-sled, a boat designed to go fast downwind and to race in light/flat (ish) water. It would be exciting to cruise in, and pretty damn uncomfortable.
The second boat I owned was a stock Moore 24 which I saied in the Single handed Transpac and won in 1980. I owned a Santa Cruz 27 that I traded for the 24 to do that race. For whatever reason at the time I thought it would be a better boat for the Transpac. Maybe it was the way it went down wind with the spinnaker and blooper?
We got an e-mail from Webb asking for information on the Falklands . . . he is apparently setting off on a moore 24..
