Introduction

Welcome to the world of Ghost of Tsushima, a highly acclaimed action-adventure game developed by Sucker Punch Productions. Immersed in the beautiful and dangerous lands of feudal Japan, players have the opportunity to wield a samurai sword and embark on a captivating journey. Originally released exclusively for the PlayStation 4, many gamers are now eager to experience this epic tale on their PCs. While Ghost of Tsushima is not officially available for PC, there is a way to play it through an emulator.

Emulators are software applications that mimic the functionality of a specific gaming console on a different platform, such as a PC. By using a suitable emulator and following the necessary steps, you can enjoy Ghost of Tsushima on your PC, providing you meet the required system specifications.

In this guide, we will walk you through the process of playing Ghost of Tsushima on your PC using a PS4 emulator. We’ll discuss the system requirements, the installation of the emulator and necessary firmware, along with troubleshooting common issues that may arise. So, without further ado, let’s dive into the world of Ghost of Tsushima on PC!

System Requirements

Before embarking on your journey to play Ghost of Tsushima on PC, it’s crucial to ensure that your system meets the necessary requirements. Here are the minimum and recommended specifications to run the game smoothly:

  • Operating System: Windows 10 (64-bit)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-6600 or AMD Ryzen 5 1400 or equivalent
  • Memory: 8GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 / GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon R9 290 / RX 570
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Storage: 50GB available space

The above specifications should be sufficient to run Ghost of Tsushima on your PC. However, keep in mind that these are the minimum requirements, and for an optimal experience, it is recommended to have higher-end hardware, such as an Intel Core i7 or AMD Ryzen 7 processor, 16GB of RAM, and a more powerful graphics card like the NVIDIA GeForce RTX series or AMD Radeon RX 6000 series.

It’s worth noting that performance may also depend on factors such as the resolution you choose to play at, the graphical settings you enable, and any background applications that may impact system resources. To ensure a smooth gameplay experience, it’s always a good idea to close unnecessary programs and update your graphics drivers to the latest version.

Now that you’re familiar with the system requirements, let’s move on to the next step: downloading and installing the PS4 emulator on your PC.

Downloading and Installing an Emulator

To play Ghost of Tsushima on PC, you will need to download and install a PS4 emulator. Currently, one of the most popular and reliable emulators available is “PCSX4.”

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to download and install the emulator:

  • Visit the official PCSX4 website or a trusted software download platform.
  • Locate the download link for the emulator and click on it to start the download.
  • Once the download is complete, navigate to the downloaded file and run the installer.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to install the emulator on your PC.
  • After the installation is complete, launch the emulator.

It’s important to note that while PCSX4 is one of the most popular emulators, there are other emulators available as well. Make sure to choose a reputable emulator that is compatible with your system and has good user reviews.

Once you have successfully installed the emulator, it’s time to proceed to the next step: downloading and installing the PS4 firmware.

Downloading and Installing PS4 Firmware

Now that you have the PS4 emulator installed on your PC, the next step is to obtain the necessary PS4 firmware to run the emulator. The firmware acts as the operating system for the virtual PlayStation 4 environment created by the emulator. Here’s how you can download and install the PS4 firmware:

  • First, search for the latest PS4 firmware version on the official PlayStation website or other reliable sources.
  • Download the firmware file, ensuring it matches the version supported by the emulator you installed.
  • Once the download is complete, locate the firmware file on your PC.
  • Open the emulator and navigate to the firmware settings or options within the emulator’s interface.
  • Choose “Install Firmware” or a similar option and browse to select the downloaded firmware file.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to install the firmware in the emulator.

It’s important to note that the installation process may vary slightly depending on the emulator you are using. Make sure to refer to the documentation or user guide specific to your chosen emulator for detailed instructions.

Here are a few methods to obtain a copy of Ghost of Tsushima:

  • Purchase a physical copy of the game: Visit your local game store or online retailers that specialize in video games and purchase a physical copy of Ghost of Tsushima for the PlayStation 4. Ensure that the game is compatible with your region’s PlayStation system.

This will require the use of a valid PlayStation Network account and access to the PlayStation Store on a PlayStation 4 console or via the official PlayStation website.
  • Obtain a backup copy: If you already own the game on a physical disc or have a friend who does, you may be able to create a backup copy of the game using specific software tools. Keep in mind that creating a backup copy of copyrighted material for personal use may be subject to legal restrictions in some regions.

Regardless of the method you choose, it’s important to ensure that you are obtaining the game legally and abiding by any applicable copyright laws.

Once you have obtained a copy of Ghost of Tsushima, you’re ready to move on to the next steps of configuring the emulator settings and preparing to play the game on your PC.

Configuring the Emulator Settings

  • Adjust the graphics settings: Depending on your system’s capabilities, you can fine-tune the resolution, display mode, and other graphical settings to suit your preferences. It’s recommended to balance visual quality with smooth gameplay.

Graphics Settings:

Within the emulator interface, look for the graphics settings menu or options. Here, you can fine-tune the visual quality and performance of Ghost of Tsushima. Consider the following aspects:

  • Resolution: Choose a resolution that works well with your system and monitor. Higher resolutions offer sharper visuals, but may require more processing power.
  • Display Mode: Select the display mode that suits your preference, such as fullscreen or windowed mode.
  • Graphics Quality: Adjust the graphics quality settings to strike a balance between visual fidelity and performance. This includes options like texture quality, shadow resolution, and anti-aliasing.

Experiment with these settings to find the optimal balance between visual quality and smooth gameplay on your PC.

Controller Settings:

If you’re using a gamepad or controller to play Ghost of Tsushima on your PC, it’s important to ensure that it’s properly configured within the emulator. Follow these steps:

  • Locate the controller settings menu within the emulator interface.
  • Ensure that your controller is connected to your PC and recognized by the emulator.
  • If needed, map the controller buttons to match the PS4 controls. This can typically be done by selecting each button individually and assigning the corresponding input on your controller.
  • Test the controller to ensure all buttons, triggers, and analog sticks are functioning correctly.

By properly configuring the graphics and controller settings, you can enhance your gaming experience and fully immerse yourself in the world of Ghost of Tsushima on PC.

Best PS4 Emulators For PC

best ps4 emulators

Console gaming has been growing over the years, but PS4 is still the crown of this generation. However, not everyone likes to play games on consoles, and that’s where ps4 emulators come in. We have compiled a list of some of the best PS4 emulators that show great promise.

Currently, there are only a few PS4 emulators that developers still support. The rest have either been abandoned (PS4 Delta) or are fake (like PCSX4, PS4 EMX, and PS4Emus). If you still want to play some Playstation games, check out our other article on the best PS2/PS3 Emulators .

Full disclosure: Don’t get your hopes up as these PS4 emulators cannot run any AAA Playstation exclusive games. All real emulators are still under development as PS4 emulation still hasn’t made as much progress as Switch emulators . You can only run old and classic games on these emulators, as I know.

Best PS4 Emulators

Spine is a Linux-based PS4 emulator and looks to be the most promising of all the others. So far, Spine can only run a few major games, but it has a lot of compatibility with old titles. It’s a shame that running this emulator is no easy feat, even for a tech-savvy user.

Most PS4 emulators can technically run some games until their intro but crash after that. Spine is a bit different as it can even run major games like Dead Cells with only minor performance issues. In terms of PS4 emulation, this is the most progress we have seen so far.

RPCS4 (in development)

rpcs4

RPCS4 is the successor to RPCS3, the most popular PS3 emulator. Knowing that it is being made by the founder of RPCS3 (one of the best PS3 emulators) is quite good news. However, even if the emulator can run major PS4 games, there will always be a catch.

To run major games on these emulators, one would need the best gaming PC available right now. Even if you use RPCS3, you need a high-end PC and an Nvidia graphics card (3000 series) to run these games smoothly. While it is theoretically possible to run Last of Us on RPCS3, the framerate might not make it playable.

Orbital PS4 Emulator

orbital-ps4-emulator

Orbital is an open-source PS4 emulator made by a well-known developer, AlexAltea. It is one of the few legit PS4 emulators that show some promise. Although Orbital can’t run any significant commercial games, it is still the most accepted emulator by the developer community.

It emulates the PS4 console OS rather than an x86-64 CPU. However, don’t expect to see any big updates any time soon. Emulation is a slowly developing field that often takes years to progress just a little.

GPCS4-ps4-emulator

GPCS4 is another Windows-based PS4 emulator. It can technically run a commercial game, but it is still not playable because of the low framerate. Like all emulators, the developer of GPCS4 is trying to resolve such issues, but it might take a while.

Although it started as a fun project, the developer plans on running Nier: Automata on the emulator. However, don’t expect too much as it is not as frequently updated.

Fake and dead PS4 emulators (do not download)

The following are some of the emulators that claim to run PS4 games but, in reality, are filled with viruses and malware. Some Youtube videos of these emulators show gameplay footage from a PS4 game. These videos are all fake.

  • SNESStation (This is not a PS4 emulator but is often misinterpreted as one)

There is also a legitimate PS4 emulator named PS4 Delta (inactive) that is now archived on Github.

Best PS4 emulator alternative

Ps remote play and ps plus.

Although PS Remote Play is not an emulator, it is the best option for you to run PS4 games on PC or mobile. It is a remote streaming service that lets you stream your PS4 and PS5 games. Although you need a console to use this, it is still far better than downloading sketchy software and running buggy games.

PS Now is an even better solution as you don’t need a console to run PS4 and PS5 games. It is a cloud streaming service that lets you play all the major PlayStation games. It even includes exclusive console games such as Marvel’s Spider-Man and Ghost of Tsushima.

Note: PS Now is available with the PS Plus subscription service.

These options require a good internet connection and low latency (5G recommended). If you still want to play PS4 games on PC or mobile, this is the best and only option for you.

Ghost of Tsushima PC Requirements: Minimum, Recommended Specs

Ghost of Tsushima PC Requirements: Minimum, Recommended Specs

Ghost of Tsushima , one of the PlayStation 4's best titles, is rumored to be getting a PC port sometime soon. While it hasn't been confirmed as of yet, it wouldn't be the first PlayStation exclusive title to get the PC treatment. 2018's God of War received a PC port back in January 2022, with many more making their way to the platform a few years after release.

As Ghost of Tsushima first launched on the PlayStation 4 back in 2020, and then later received a PlayStation 5 release in 2021, the action RPG could be well on its way to receiving a PC port. As for its recommended PC specifications, well, we anticipate them to be very similar to other PlayStation 4 titles that have received ports.

Table of Contents

Minimum requirements, recommended requirements, ghost of tsushima pc port release date, ghost of tsushima pc port speculated minimum requirements.

GhostOfTsushimaMovieRevealed.jpg

If we assume that Ghost of Tsushima's PC release will be similar to other PS4 titles that have received ports, then its minimum requirements could be close to that of God of War's:

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  • OS:  Windows 10 64-bit
  • Processor:  Intel i5-2500k (4 core 3.3 GHz) or AMD Ryzen 3 1200 (4 core 3.1 GHz)
  • Memory:  8 GB RAM
  • Graphics:  NVIDIA GTX 960 (4 GB) or AMD R9 290X (4 GB)
  • DirectX:  Version 11
  • Storage:  70 GB available space
  • Additional Notes:  DirectX feature level 11_1 required

Ghost of Tsushima PC Port Speculated Recommended Requirements

Again, if we take God of War's PC port as a blueprint, Ghost of Tsushima's recommended PC requirements could be as follows:

  • Processor:  Intel i5-6600k (4 core 3.5 GHz) or AMD Ryzen 5 2400 G (4 core 3.6 GHz)
  • Graphics:  NVIDIA GTX 1060 (6 GB) or AMD RX 570 (4 GB)

Right now, neither Sony or developer Sucker Punch Productions have confirmed an official release date for Ghost of Tsushima's PC release. However, various leaks and rumors appear to speculate that we could be looking at a Q4 2023 release date. Alternatively, a Q1 2024 release date is also on the cards. Typically, PC ports of PlayStation titles have taken roughly 3-4 years to emerge since their initial release date. Given that Ghost of Tsushima released back in 2020, this puts the speculated dates right on track with this port cycle.

Ghost of Tsushima PC Port: Why The Highly Acclaimed Samurai Game Will Likely Come To Steam

Faris Delalic

If you look at Sony's latest strategical decisions in terms of its PlayStation exclusives, a PC port for Ghost of Tsushima would make a lot of sense. In addition, there have already been some hints that indicate the development of a PC version. In this article, we'll explain why a Ghost of Tsushima PC version is likely to happen, including an estimation when you should expect it to release.

Ghostoftsushima2

Ghost of Tsushima is considered to be one of the best action adventure games on PlayStation consoles. Not only is it the Samurai game everyone always wanted – the pure beautifulness of the island of Tsushima is just staggering and makes everyone without a PlayStation jealous.

Fans have been waiting for a PC version of the hit game and yes, we can very likely expect a port. But when? And what do we know so far?

To be clear, there hasn't been any official confirmation of a PC port yet, but some leaks and rumors have fired up speculation surrounding the re-release of the PS-exclusive, including some reliable reveals. Let's check out the details.

Why A Ghost of Tsushima PC Port Is Likely To Happen

Ghostoftsushima3

Ghost of Tsushima will most likely be making its way to PC. Why are we so confident about that, you might ask? Well, a number of Sony-exclusive games have already found their way to PC: Days Gone, Horizon: Zero Dawn and God of War chief among them, and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is the latest addition in this illustrious round. But that's not all.

Most of the mentioned franchises are bigger than the Ghost of Tsushima one (The Last of Us even got its own TV series) , and still Sony decided to give up the PlayStation exclusiveness after a certain amount of time and port them to PC. It would be surprising to give up the exclusiveness of The Last of Us that has such a high radiance and attraction by name, but denying a Ghost of Tsushima PC port to keep the franchise exclusive (you would rather expect it the other way around).

Furthermore, there have been multiple revealing hints. The major one came from the infamous Nvidia leak in 2021 , which revealed info on tons of unreleased or unannounced games. A PC port for Ghost of Tsushima was included in the leak as well. Since then, many of the reveals from that list already turned out to be true like Tekken 8, Dragon's Dogma 2, Returnal or Ratchet & Clank. This means that the mentioned PC version for Ghost of Tsushima is very likely also happening.

There was another hint for this version being in development. This detail originally helped us find out about the PC ports for Horizon Zero Dawn and Days Gone: The PlayStation only label was removed from the boxart on Amazon .

PlayStation Direct now features the new Ghost of Tsushima boxart without the 'Only on PlayStation' banner. Yes, it's that simple. Horizon Zero Dawn and Days Gone are both on PC and, really, this is no surprise as we knew from the start that a lot of PlayStation exclusives are bound to be ported to PC.

Ghost of tsushima artwork

If you missed when Sony stated its intentions on bringing more PlayStation exclusives to the PC, here's what Sony had to say on this a while back:

Particularly from the latter half of the PS4 cycle our studios made some wonderful, great games. There’s an opportunity to expose those great games to a wider audience and recognise the economics of game development, which are not always straightforward.

Ghost of Tsushima PC Port: Release Window Expectation

A Ghost of Tsushima PC port still seems pretty likely. Unfortunately, we didn't see any leaks or rumors on a potential release date so far. Days Gone got its PC port about two years after the PlayStation debut, Horizon Zero Dawn and God of War were released on computers about three and a half years after premiering on the PS4.

Ghost of Tsushima is out for three years now, so come on Sony, the time has come! We expect a Ghost of Tsushima PC version to be announced in early 2024 and to be released in late 2024 .

You Loved The Open World Feeling of Ghost of Tsushima? Then Try Out These Games:

As great as Ghost of Tsushima is, it's not the only excellent open-world game out there. We recommend the following games to help pass the time:

Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2 is, in our opinion, an absolute must-play. If you haven't played it yet, get it now! RDR2 is set in a fictional version of the Wild West in 1899. As Arthur Morgan, you explore a vast open world with incredibly detailed environments, challenging and creative quests, and authentic battles. Red Dead Redemption 2 offers a profound story, stunning graphics, and even a multiplayer mode.

Zelda: Breath of the Wild / Tears of the Kingdom

If you have a Nintendo Switch, be sure to check out the two Zelda games, Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom (in that order). You'll find a huge open game world where it's entirely normal to get distracted by numerous side quests on your way to the main goal.

Elden Ring is basically an open-world Dark Souls and it is one of the best games ever made. Yes, you will have hard fights and incredibly unforgiving bosses, but the exploration and sheer amount of possible builds with weapons, talismans, incantations and more is just amazing. Also, it probably is the best Souls-game for newcomers to the genre, since the open world allows you to go wherever you want, so if you struggle with a certain boss, just farm some levels, find and upgrade new gear and come back overpowered.

Faris has been obsessed with gaming since his childhood and is now the Gaming lead at EarlyGame. He is a self-described FromSoftware shill, but also loves games like Tears of the Kingdom, Baldur's Gate 3 and Resident Evil 4. ...

Ghost Of Tsushima PC Port Release Date Speculation

Here's everything you need to know about Ghost of Tsushima's PC port release date with Requirements speculation.

' src=

Ghost of Tsushima became one of the most well-received games in the world by both critics & users. It also managed to sell almost 10 million copies this year. Being one of the fastest-selling games published by SIE, many PC players are awaiting a port release on Windows. So today, let’s see what we know about the Ghost of Tsushima PC port ‘s release date as per Reddit & other leaks with minimum & recommended PC requirements speculation.

Table of Contents

Ghost of Tsushima PC Port Requirements (Speculations)

ghost of tsushima pc port

The minimum & recommended system requirements of Ghost of Tsushima PC will be very similar to those of other games ported from PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5:

Minimum Requirement

  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 1500X, Intel Core i7-4770K
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 470 or AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti
  • Storage: 80 GB available space (SSD Recommended)
  • OS: Windows 10 (Version 1909 or Newer)

Recommended Requirement

  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X, Intel Core i7-8700
  • Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT or AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT (8 GB), NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER or NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060

Note: We will update the system requirements list if they change based on the PC features trailer (which Sony usually releases). We will also update the list with the official system requirements once they are announced.

Ghost of Tsushima PC Port Release Date Leaks and Speculation

ghost of tsushima pc

As per insider sources, the Ghost of Tsushima PC port release date will be Q4 2024 . There are a few reasons for this late date, but we can sum them up:

  • Release of PS5, & PlayStation Plus
  • The release pattern of previous Sony games on Windows

Upcoming Ghost of Tsushima Film

  • Upcoming Last of Us PC Port

So, when can we expect to see a Ghost of Tsushima PC port? Based on the available evidence, it seems unlikely that the game will be released on PC in late 2023. Sony has typically released its PC ports around a few years after the initial PlayStation release, so a Q4 2024 release date would be consistent with this trend.

Of course, it’s also possible that Sony could release the Ghost of Tsushima PC port earlier than Q4 2024. For example, if the game is already in a late stage of development, Sony could release it in Q2 or Q3 2024. However, given that Sony has yet to announce the game, a Q4 2024 release date seems more likely.

Overall, the evidence suggests that a Ghost of Tsushima PC port is in development and will likely be released in late 2024. Fans of the game can expect to hear more from Sony in the coming months.

Release of PS5 and PlayStation Plus

PlayStation consoles have been more successful than Xbox consoles for years, teaching us that features and games are the most important factors in players’ choices. While where friends play matters, players ultimately choose PlayStation consoles for their exclusive games.

With the launch of PlayStation Plus to compete with Xbox’s Game Pass service, Ghost of Tsushima has become an integral part of Sony’s strategy to lure more players to their devices. It is, therefore, unsurprising that the PC port of Ghost of Tsushima has been delayed for so long, as Sony is prioritizing PlayStation 5 sales.

The Release Pattern of Previous Sony Games on Windows

As the head of Sony once stated, best-selling PS titles are on their way to PC . Some PlayStation-exclusive games have taken 3-4 years to be ported to PC.

ghost of tsushima film

Sony has announced that it will produce a film adaptation of Ghost of Tsushima, directed by Chad Stahelski, known for the John Wick franchise. Sony is seeking to expand Ghost of Tsushima’s reach by bringing it to PC gamers, a missed opportunity with the Uncharted film, which was released after the Legacy of Thieves Collection was delayed. PlayStation fans poorly received the Uncharted film, so Sony is unlikely to take the same risk with the Ghost of Tsushima film.

  • This article was originally written before the release of The Last of Us Part I for PC, so the information below reflects the state of the article at that time.

The Last of Us television series will premiere in 2023, but Ghost of Tsushima has sold more copies than The Last of Us on PS3 and PS4 combined, with over 10 million copies sold. This is in addition to the player base on PS5, who can either buy or play the game on PS Now. That’s almost three times the number of players who have played The Last of Us. Therefore, releasing a PC port of Ghost of Tsushima is Sony’s best way to introduce the world of Jin Sakai to new players. Here are the currently planned upcoming movies based on PS games:

  • Gran Turismo (2023)
  • Days Gone (TBA)
  • Ghost of Tsushima (TBA)
  • Gravity Rush (TBA)
  • Jak and Daxter (TBA)

Last of Us PC Port

The Last of Us Part I for PC and released on March 28, 2023. To avoid releasing two major titles simultaneously (Ghost of Tsushima and The Last of Us), Sony will likely prioritize The Last of Us Part I, as it is expected to attract more players than the new television series. Therefore, the Ghost of Tsushima PC port is likely to be delayed to Q4 2024 .

Mini Games.

That’s right – you can now run the fan-made homebrew title Ghost of Tsushima – Mini Games on your personal computer! While it may not be the same as the actual game, it’s still nice to see PlayStation 4 emulators making enough progress to run homebrew titles at playable framerates.

According to wololo.net , “GoT mini games is a set of 3 simple games set in the samurai world of Ghost of Tsushima. In “Duel”, you’ll have to time your attack right to kill your opponent. “Bamboo” will ask you to press the right combination of keys fast enough to cut through bamboos. Is Ghost of Tsushima coming to PC? – Answered

Sam Robins

Sony has spent the last couple of years slowly porting some of its exclusive titles to PC. So far, God of War , Horizon: Zero Dawn , Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered , and Days Gone have made the jump. We’ve also got a PC port of Returnal on the way, which should release sometime in 2023. However, there’s one game that’s kept us all waiting in suspense. Ghost of Tsushima should come to PC relatively soon, yet there’s been no word on whether it’ll actually arrive. And it’s fair to think that it may never come to PC. But there are plenty of things that line up to suggest it’s still happening.

For starters, Sony has already placed many of its recent hits on PC. And it seems like this has been a pretty successful venture for the company. So it stands to reason that it would not stop here. Plus, even games like Marvel’s Spider-Man , which many thought would be stuck on PlayStation for all time, managed to land on PC. So it doesn’t seem like a PC port of Ghost of Tsushima would have much trouble. Then there’s the fact that Ghost of Tsushima popped up in the infamous Nvidia GeForce leak .

When could we expect Ghost of Tsushima on PC?

Ghost of Tsushima ‘s PC release is something that makes too much sense for Sony not to do it. But it’s important for the company to time its release, so it gets the most amount of sales. And there’s one project coming up that would go alongside the PC release perfectly. A while back there was word that multiple video game franchises would be turned into films and TV shows . And Sony confirmed back in 2021 that Ghost of Tsushima would get the same treatment. Honestly, a Ghost of Tsushima film makes a lot of sense given its inspiration from Akira Kurosawa’s films. If we’re ever to see a PC release for Ghost of Tsushima , it’s likely it would be around the release of its film.

Image via PlayStation Studios

Unfortunately, there’s no guarantee of this happening. Sony hasn’t officially stated if it will come to PC or not. But there are plenty of things that suggest it could make the move at some point. Whether that happens in 2023 or next year is something we’ll need to wait and see. But Ghost of Tsushima does come to PC, maybe then it’ll be time to have the Bloodborne talk again.

  • Operating System: Windows 10 (64-bit)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-6600 or AMD Ryzen 5 1400, or equivalent
  • Memory: 8GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970/GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon R9 290/RX 570

These specifications should suffice to run Ghost of Tsushima on your PC. Nevertheless, these are the minimum prerequisites. For an optimal experience, it is advised to possess more robust hardware, such as an Intel Core i7 or AMD Ryzen 7 processor, 16GB of RAM, and a more powerful graphics card, such as the NVIDIA GeForce RTX series or AMD Radeon RX 6000 series.

Performance can also hinge on factors like the chosen resolution, activated graphical settings, and background applications that can drain system resources. To ensure an uninterrupted gameplay experience, consider closing non-essential programs and keeping your graphics drivers updated to the latest version.

With a grasp of the system requirements, let’s move on to the subsequent step: downloading and installing the PS4 emulator on your PC.

Downloading and Installing an Emulator

To partake in Ghost of Tsushima on PC, you must procure and install a PS4 emulator. Currently, one of the most renowned and dependable emulators available is “PCSX4.” Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to download and install the emulator:

It’s important to acknowledge that while PCSX4 is a highly popular emulator, there are other reputable emulators as well. Make sure to opt for an emulator that aligns with your system specifications and boasts positive user reviews.

After you’ve successfully installed the emulator, it’s time to proceed to the subsequent step: downloading and installing the PS4 firmware.

Downloading and Installing PS4 Firmware

Now that you have the PS4 emulator primed on your PC, the next phase is procuring the essential PS4 firmware to operate the emulator. This firmware functions as the operating system for the virtual PlayStation 4 environment generated by the emulator. Here’s how to download and install the PS4 firmware:

  • Initiate a search for the latest PS4 firmware version on the official PlayStation website or other reliable sources.

  • Upon completion of the download, locate the firmware file on your PC.
  • Launch the emulator and navigate to the firmware settings or options within the emulator’s interface.
  • Select “Install Firmware” or a similar option and navigate to choose the downloaded firmware file.
  • Pursue the on-screen prompts to finalize the firmware installation in the emulator.

The installation procedure may vary slightly contingent upon the emulator you are employing. Therefore, it is advisable to refer to the documentation or user guide particular to your chosen emulator for exhaustive instructions.

  • Obtain a backup copy: If you already possess the game on a physical disc or have access to a friend’s copy, you might have the option to create a backup copy of the game employing specialized software tools. Bear in mind that generating a backup of copyrighted material for personal use may be subject to legal constraints in certain regions.

Regardless of the method you select, it is imperative to ascertain that you acquire the game through legal means and adhere to applicable copyright laws.

With your copy of Ghost of Tsushima secured, you are ready to proceed to the subsequent steps of configuring the emulator settings and preparing to commence your journey into the virtual world. In the following section, we will direct you through these processes.

  • Peruse your computer’s file system to locate the Ghost of Tsushima game file.

  • Display Mode: Select the display mode that suits your preference, such as fullscreen or windowed mode.
  • Graphics Quality: Tune the graphics quality settings to attain a balance between visual fidelity and performance. This includes options like texture quality, shadow resolution, and anti-aliasing.

Experiment with these settings to pinpoint the ideal equilibrium between visual quality and smooth gameplay on your PC.

Rumor: PlayStation Lining Up 2024 PC Ports, Including Ghost of Tsushima And Gran Turismo 7

It looks like Sony hastily chose to greenlight these ports after seeing their dearth of new first party titles this year.

A PlayStation developer has revealed that the company is planning a large array of PC ports of their top games later in the year.

Jin Sakai in ghost of tsushima

This post was put up in 4chan over the weekend and archived later:

“ Nixxes employee here, I know of some Sony games coming to PC this year:

TLOU Part 2 God of War Ragnarok Demon’s Souls Ghost of Tsushima Gran Turismo 7

All slated for this year. DS and GOT taking so long because it’s the devs first time making PC ports. Spider-Man 2 will come in early 2025. Sony is also discussing porting earlier games e.g. infamous Second Son to PC as well.´´

While 4chan has been a source for rumors that were later confirmed, the website generally has a bad reputation when it comes to rumors and leaks. Because users can post anonymously, anyone can post anything on the site. So we have to regard this rumor with suspicion, but we can talk about how credible it is.

Nixxes is a Dutch video game studio based in Utrecht. It was acquired by Sony Interactive Entertainment in 2021, and the studio’s specialty is bringing ports of games to multiple platforms. They have had the most experience porting games to Windows.

Of course, we know that Sony policy is to bring their first party games to PC now. They have even gone out of their way to port their games to GOG , meaning these versions of these games are completely DRM-free.

Gamers probably already expected ports of more God of War and The Last Of Us games, but the big title that likely pops out of this list is Ghost of Tsushima . Ghost of Tsushima was first released in 2020 but has yet to be even announced for PC. Some fans were not sure this was ever happening, but will welcome this when it arrives.

The Gran Turismo series has also never been officially released to PC, having been designed since the first game around PlayStation hardware. Gran Turismo 7 is certainly not the most popular of games among the franchise, but it still has enough going for it that sim racers would love to give it a spin. In particular, they would be interested in seeing how much more it could be optimized on their own custom PC builds.

Lastly, Demon’s Souls is a game many will argue deserves a PC port, but may be receiving one too late. Without a doubt, it is one of FromSoftware’s most foundational games. This port will likely be based on the 2020 remake, developed by Bluepoint Games and the now defunct Japan Studio, instead of the 2009 original. There will definitely be enough FromSoftware loyalists to buy Demon’s Souls , but after Elden Ring , many gamers may decide that it’s too much older for them.

Nixxes is likely to have a hand in all PlayStation first-party ports to PC, so this is really a manner of when. It may be the case that all these ports were greenlit as Sony management noticed they were facing first party dry spells for the PlayStation 5 this year. But then, we will have to wait if this gets confirmed to corroborate that that is what happened.

PlayStation: A Leak Claims That the Last of Us Part 2, God of War Ragnarok, Ghost of Tsushima, and More Games Coming to PC in 2024

There's also plans for bringing old ps games to pc, but no, bloodbourne isn't mentioned..

PlayStation: The Last of Us Part 2, God of War Ragnarok, Ghost of Tsushima, and More Games Reportedly Coming to PC in 2024

A new rumour on the internet has popped up about the upcoming Sony games that will arrive on PC in 2024. The Last of Us Part 2, God of War Ragnarok, and Ghost of Tsushima among others have been tipped off as Sony titles that will be making their way from the PS consoles to the PC games platform this year. Here’s every Sony game likely to be released this year.

All PS games coming to PC in 2024

A 4chan user claiming to be a Nixxes employee (Nixxes is one of the PlayStation Studios in charge of PC ports), took to the forum platform and shared that Sony is planning to release to release 5 PlayStation games on PC in 2024. These titles include The Last of Us Part 2, God of War Ragnarok, Demon's Souls, Ghost of Tsushima, and Gran Turismo 7.

The user also claimed that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is also making its way to PC but in early 2025. Furthermore, it was claimed that Sony is also exploring the possibility of releasing older PS games on PC, such as Infamous Second Son which came out in 2014 for the PlayStation 4.

There’s no official announcement from Sony about the release of these games on PC in 2024, so take this information with a grain of salt. However, there’s some credibility to be attached to these claims if the user is indeed a Nixxes employee. The studio was brought on board by Sony in 2021, primarily to port its PS games for PC. So far, Nixxes has ported Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition, Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered, and Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales for PC.

Best Games Like Ghost Of Tsushima

A long with The Last of Us Part 2 , Ghost of Tsushima acted as a swan song for the PlayStation 4, ensuring Sony's console went out on a high note. Sucker Punch's open-world action-adventure game went on to produce an expansion and a director's cut for the PS5, and it is comfortably among the current system's best first-party exclusives. The title was so successful, a movie is in production, and there is hope that a sequel or spiritual successor could be eventually on the cards.

6 Things A Ghost Of Tsushima Sequel Could Implement

With high production value, a refreshing historical Japanese setting, smooth and engaging hack and slash combat, and a lavish world that just begs to be explored, GoT is all-around brilliant. While there are not all that many projects that compare to Sucker Punch's masterpiece, die-hard fans searching for something to fill the void have a few games similar to Ghost of Tsushima that they can check out.

Updated December 29, 2023 by Mark Sammut: Ghost of Tsushima has been out for a couple of years now, and a sequel has yet to be announced. While hoping for that project's announcements, players can try out some similar titles.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty

A soulslike with a touch of chinese history.

Platform(s) Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox One

Released 2023-03-03

Developer(s) Team Ninja

Genre(s) Action RPG

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is another Soulslike RPG by Team Ninja . Although not a massive departure from Nioh , the 2023 release does shake things up somewhat by emphasizing parrying above everything else. This mechanic is so important, the game's tutorial boss is basically unbeatable if players fail to deflect their attacks.

Narratively, Wo Long is set during China's Three Kingdoms era, although Team Ninja's project is not as history-driven as Ghost of Tsushima . While players get to fight alongside quite a few historical figures, they will be largely going up against supernatural enemies. In terms of challenge, Wo Long is considerably harder than Ghost of Tsushima ; that said, both games deliver fast-paced and skill-based combat.

An Expansive Open-World Soulslike

Released 2022-02-25

Developer(s) From Software

Genre(s) Action, RPG

Anyone who enjoyed the open-world explorative feeling of Ghost of Tsushima should check out From Software's latest release, Elden Ring . Although the difficulty takes some getting used to (unless players are already hardened from Sekiro ), the world is incredibly expansive and beautifully designed. There is so much to see and do in Elden Ring , and players can easily pack 100 hours into their first playthrough depending on how much they explore.

With multiple ways to build a character, lots of quests to sift through, hidden items and weapons galore, and tons of bosses to eliminate, Elden Ring is one of the best open-world experiences currently on the market and a great next step for Ghost of Tsushima fans looking to flaunt their combat skills.

Ninja Gaiden Master Collection

Challenging and fast-paced hack and slash combat, ninja gaiden: master collection.

Platform(s) Switch, PS4, PC, Xbox One

Released 2021-06-10

Genre(s) Hack and Slash

The original Ninja Gaiden for the NES was a difficult platformer, but the series saw a glow-up when Team Ninja brought it into the 3D space. The adventures of Ryu Hayabusa were grueling, pitting players against difficult enemies, platforming sections, and giving them an array of weapons they would have to master to beat some truly difficult bosses.

Best Ninja Gaiden Games, Ranked

It takes a lot of patience, skill, and determination to make it through the Ninja Gaiden series, especially on the harder difficulties. Players looking for an extra challenge should give this older but often overlooked series a shot. Out of the trilogy available in the Master Collection , Ninja Gaiden Sigma is the pick of the bunch, offering a deep and challenging campaign built on a combat system that has aged magnificently. Its sequel is pretty good too, and Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge is perfectly playable despite featuring some rather terrible boss fights.

The Onimusha Series

Japanese history with a supernatural flair, onimusha: warlords.

Platform(s) Switch, PS4, PS2, Xbox (Original), PC, Xbox One

Released 2001-03-14

Developer(s) Capcom

Genre(s) Action

Players looking for a game with a similar aesthetic and vibe but are craving something darker (although, some parts of Ghost of Tsushima get pretty dark) can look into the Onimusha series. This underrated franchise has a similar vibe to the Resident Evil franchise but is set in Japan and follows an array of historical figures that must combat supernatural forces through combat, puzzle-solving, and exploration.

Those who have always wanted to try a "melee-focused" Resident Evil -style title should find a lot to enjoy with Onimusha . It's one of the better cult classics out there and although it's a bit dated in terms of graphics, it's still an enthralling adventure. Onimusha: Warlords has received a solid PS4, PC, and Xbox One remaster, and that release is the best place for newcomers to start.

Middle-earth: Shadow Of War

Smooth combat, adaptive world thanks to the nemesis system, middle-earth: shadow of war.

Platform(s) PS4, PC, Xbox One

Released 2017-10-10

Developer(s) Monolith

Anyone craving another open world with great story elements, characters, and fluid combat should be sure to put Middle-earth: Shadow of War at the top of their list. Drawing from lore and setups based on T he Lord of the Rings series, Middle-earth: Shadow of War is the continuation of Talion's journey from Shadow of Mordor .

The sequel includes some great updates in an open-world setting and gives players access to the entertaining and engaging Nemesis system that will have them fighting against enemies from their past, further adding to the story elements as they make their way through each area.

Intense Fights, Deep Combat, & Japanese Setting

Platform(s) PS5, PS4, PC

Released 2020-03-13

Ghost of Tsushima features a beautiful, historical, and rich Japanese aesthetic that is present from start to finish. If someone loves the visual and style elements of the open-world game, they should check out Nioh 2 . Although it's much more fantastical in its enemy and boss designs, Nioh 2 has the same vibrant aesthetic spread throughout its gameplay.

Nioh 2: Best Weapon Combos

It features a tough but rewarding combat system and characters should find themselves on the edge of their seats through some of the more challenging sections. Nioh 2 might seem more at home for fans of Sekiro and Dark Souls, but offers a lot for people seeking games like Ghost of Tsushima .

Like A Dragon: Ishin!

A yakuza spin on japan's edo period, like a dragon: ishin.

Released 2023-02-21

Developer(s) Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio

Genre(s) Action-Adventure

While predominantly concerned with gangster epics set in modern Japan, Sega's Yakuza franchise is known to take the occasional detour for its spin-offs. Like a Dragon: Ishin! is set during Japan's Edo period and features characters inspired by history, albeit with faces that will be familiar to anyone who has played the mainline entries. A story about personal revenge that also highlights its intriguing era, Ishin! demonstrates the license's stellar writing through its central quest and fun characters.

A remake of a 2014 Japanese-exclusive game, this spin-off features an urban open-world that is quite small and cannot be compared to Ghost of Tsushima 's massive map; however, Like a Dragon knows how to make the most of limited real estate, and Ishin! is not an exception. The combat plays like the mainline beat 'em up entries, albeit with a heavier focus on weapons and the implementation of a novel card system . Players get four stances to rotate through, and they provide a fair amount of variety and unlockable skills. While not particularly deep, the action is fast-paced and enjoyable, and it is just neat to set a version of Kiryu wielding a traditional katana.

Horizon Zero Dawn & Forbidden West

Gorgeous open-world & satisfying combat, horizon: forbidden west.

Platform(s) PS5, PS4

Released 2022-02-18

Developer(s) Guerrilla Games

Another game with unbelievable panoramic views, Horizon Zero Dawn finds the player adventuring across the country in a post-apocalyptic environment where mankind has reverted back to tribal instincts. On top of the beautiful graphics, the battles are more focused too, and it has one of the best combat systems in an open-world game .

Fighting giant mechanical beasts makes for a challenging next step after hacking up the seemingly entire population of Japan. The worlds of Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West are just as ambitious as the one in Ghost of Tsushima , as Aloy scales different terrains such as deserts, forests, and ancient ruins.

Devil May Cry 5

Best hack and slash combat on the ps5 & ps4.

Released 2019-03-08

If a Ghost of Tsushima fan is looking for a game with an expansive world, gorgeous and varied environments, and a pronounced story, they should not prioritize Devil May Cry 5 . Conversely, if someone simply wants a title with deep hack and slash combat, they really cannot do better than Capcom's project. In fact, they should also check out older entries in the series like Devil May Cry 3 and 4 . Boasting three playable characters who have wildly different mechanics, DMC 5 is an absolute masterpiece when it comes to its gameplay. Importantly, while accessible enough to not put off newcomers to the genre, the game's intricacies take some serious dedication to master.

Not to take anything away from Nero and V, who are fun characters to control in their own right, but Dante is DMC 5 's magnum opus. Forged over the course of roughly two decades of games, the charismatic devil hunter's mechanics are built entirely around combo chains. Dante can also switch between four styles on the fly, which is somewhat similar to Ghost of Tsushima 's stances.

Assassin’s Creed: Rogue

Historical setting, similar blend of mechanics & genres, assassin's creed rogue.

Platform(s) PS3, Switch, PS4, Xbox 360, Stadia, Xbox One

Released 2014-11-11

Developer(s) Ubisoft

Genre(s) Open-World, Action

As the most exciting part about new Assassin’s Creed games is where in the world they are based and what year they are set, a samurai-themed Assassin’s Creed based in Japan would have fans drooling. However, Ghost of Tsushima might be the closest it’ll ever come.

The games share a lot of similar gameplay, such as stealth, combat, and exploring a historical open world. Rogue might not be the most recent entry in the Assassin’s Creed series, but it’s the one most similar to Tsushima with an interesting historical theme and one of the series’ best villains .

Batman: Arkham City

Dense open-worlds & accessible but awesome combat, batman arkham city.

Platform(s) PS3, Wii U, PS4, Xbox 360, PC, Xbox One

Released 2011-10-18

Developer(s) Rocksteady Studios

Genre(s) Action, Adventure

It could be argued that Ghost of Tsushima is Batman: Arkham City with a samurai skin. The two games share a dense open world full of surprises, and the combat systems are just as satisfying as one another, slashing from one enemy to the next in one sweet combo.

Batman: 8 Arkham Series Characters That Disappeared After Their Respective Game

The world of Arkham is full of puzzles and mini-games, just as there are in Tsushima , set up by the Riddler, with so many side-missions that the game feels almost bottomless. Rocksteady's open-world title is a completionist’s dream, as there are so many collectibles to find, and just like in Tsushima , the collectibles actually serve a purpose and are one of the reasons why Arkham City was named the best Batman game .

Tales Of Arise

An action jrpg delight, tales of arise.

Released 2021-09-10

Developer(s) Bandai Namco Studios

Although not as recognizable as Final Fantasy , Dragon Quest , or arguably Persona , Bandai Namco's Tales franchise is still a big deal in its own right, particularly in the action JRPG sphere. The license has produced a number of great projects over the years, and while Vesperia and Symphonia will always be worth playing, newcomers should start with Tales of Arise . The 2021 release has one of the best combat systems in not only Bandai Namco's series but also the entire JRPG genre .

Now, Tales of Arise 's gameplay is not really all that similar to Ghost of Tsushima , but they are both fast-paced and flashy while not being shallow. The JRPG is also not open-world, although players can take on side quests and are encouraged to explore to an extent.

Samurai Warriors 5

Japan's sengoku period in musou form.

Released 2021-07-27

Developer(s) Omega Force

Technically, Omega Force's Warriors games and Ghost of Tsushima both fall under the hack and slash banner; however, their combat systems are so wildly different that they can barely be described as the same general genre. Be it Dynasty Warriors or one of the many license-based spin-offs, these titles pit players against literal armies, allowing them to blast enemies away by the hundreds. The action tends to be simplistic and, on normal difficulty, rewards button mashing, but it can be satisfying to demolish troops with a single swing of a blade. Even if not for everyone, the Warriors formula has proven to be a success.

Samurai Warriors focuses on Japan's Warring States era that lasted from around 1467 to roughly 1568 . The series features many historical Japanese figures as playable characters, and the campaigns revolve around important battles from the Sengoku Period. While arguably not the strongest entry in the franchise, Samurai Warriors 5 is nevertheless a decent gateway into not only the subseries but also Musou games in general. The story focuses on two figures, Nobunaga Oda and Mitsuhide Akechi, although other characters are periodically playable.

Kingdoms Of Amalur: Re-Reckoning

Vibrant world & flexible combat, kingdoms of amalur reckoning.

Platform(s) PS3, Switch, PS4, Xbox 360, PC, Xbox One

Released 2012-02-07

Developer(s) Big Huge Games, 38 Studios

Long before games like Ghost of Tsushima and Elden Ring set the standard for third-person action in open-world games, Kingdoms of Amalur arguably represented the genre's real-time combat peak. Originally released in 2012, the game made waves thanks to a satisfying hack and slash system that had more in common with the likes of God of War than Skyrim . Built upon a robust weapon system and combo chains, Kingdoms of Amalur knocked its minute-to-minute gameplay out of the park.

Nowadays, the RPG shows its age, and the combat no longer feels as revolutionary as it once did. Newcomers who pick up the Re-Reckoning version should be aware that they will be playing a PS3-era title with a fresh coat of paint as the remaster does not feature all that many changes. That said, Kingdoms of Amalur 's vibrant world has retained most of its beauty and its gameplay is still entertaining.

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen

A smaller open-world that emphasizes customization & combat.

Released 2013-04-23

Despite having a somewhat rough launch, Capcom's Dragon's Dogma has firmly cemented itself as a cult classic, to the point that a sequel is in production. Set in a cutthroat dark fantasy realm filled with impressive and challenging monsters, the open-world game is primarily remembered for its fantastic combat, class, and pawn systems.

5 Changes Dragon's Dogma 2's Pawn System Needs

The former two are directed tied since Dragon's Dogma 's flexible classes provide players with plenty of freedom for their builds. The combat itself starts out straightforward and even sluggish but expands beautifully as players level up and unlock more options. While roaming the small but dense map, players will be accompanied by pawns, user-created NPCs who are surprisingly useful.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

A dark fantasy masterpiece with impeccable storytelling.

Platform(s) Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox One

Released 2015-05-19

Developer(s) CD Projekt Red

Genre(s) Action, RPG, Adventure

At this point, The Witcher 3 is basically an automatic suggestion for anyone remotely interested in gaming. Craving an RPG? Try The Witcher 3 . Want a fantasy game? Try The Witcher 3 . Looking for a sports game that focuses on multiplayer and features absolutely no story? Well, The Witcher 3 exists. Therefore, GoT fans should certainly try CD Projekt Red's 2015 masterpiece, but the recommendation is fueled by more than just habit. Both games feature expansive and detailed open-worlds that are simultaneously beautiful but also grounded. Although it is set in a fantasy rather than a historical kingdom, The Witcher 3 harbors back to the Medieval ages, carving a world that is gritty, complex, and ancient.

Both titles feature real-time combat, although the systems are quite different from each other. The Witcher 3 's gameplay can be polarizing since it comes with a fairly steep learning curve. Similar to GoT , players are role-playing as an established character rather than creating their own, and The Witcher 3 expects players to live up to Geralt's legacy and tendencies.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order & Survivor

Nearly the full package, star wars jedi: survivor.

Platform(s) Xbox Series X, PS5, PC

Released 2023-04-28

Developer(s) Respawn Entertainment

Genre(s) Soulslike, Action-Adventure

Although the definition of a mixed bag, EA's Star Wars era produced a couple of gems. Arguably, Respawn's Jedi series was the best thing to come out of this partnership, and both games are good-to-great. Fallen Order and Survivor cast players as Cal Kestis, a Jedi Padawan stuck in a universe run by an empire that very much wants to kill his kind. Taking inspiration from Soulslikes, Respawn's titles deliver satisfying melee combat that is relatively similar to Ghost of Tsushima 's system, although not quite as smooth. As he progresses through the campaigns, Cal gradually unlocks new abilities that add variety to his moveset, ensuring the combat remains interesting for the long haul.

Although their combat works well, Fallen Order and Survivor shine in their stories, exploration, and world-building. Although not open-world, the games are built around reasonably large self-contained maps, particularly the sequel. As Cal gains new powers, he will be able to access other parts of the levels.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2

A modern open-world with versatile combat & a strong narrative.

Platform(s) PS5

Released 2023-10-20

Developer(s) Insomniac Games

Genre(s) Action-Adventure, Open-World

After producing two fantastic open-world superhero games for the PS4 (and PS5), Insomniac managed to outdo itself with Marvel's Spider-Man 2 . Featuring two playable characters (Peter Parker and Miles Morales), the 2023 sequel builds beautifully on its predecessors' foundations, providing improvements in a few key areas. While the core is largely the same, the combat system has been enhanced through the addition of Venom abilities, along with the fact that the leads have unique skills and abilities that fit their characters. The open-world is gorgeous and offers a solid selection of secondary optional content, which was one of the few areas somewhat lacking in the first Marvel's Spider-Man . The story does a great job of highlighting both Parker and Morales, even if the former gets more time in the spotlight than the latter.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is another triumph for Insomniac and the PlayStation brand, and it will almost certainly be remembered as one of the best games of 2023. Now, when compared directly to Ghost of Tsushima , it is quite a different open-world experience since the combat and traversal mechanics are worlds' apart; however, they both offer gameplay that is satisfying along with immersive settings.
