We again cruised on the Hornblower Infinity

We returned 1 year later for another wonderful brunch. The food and service was consistent to the wonderful memory I had of last year. The brunch was a large spread of hot foods, salad, cheese/fruit and great desserts Great band with relaxing music, close up views of the Statue of Liberty and also of the Brooklyn Bridge. This year the staff came on deck to offer refills of Champagne and warm fresh baked cookies…this was a nice new addition to the already wonderful service of last year. It surely makes me want to return again

We bought the dinner and drinks package for the 6 pm cruise. We were told the food was "good" and "made fresh" on the boat. We were also told the 8 p.m. cruise would be for the younger, party crowd (we are the over 40 type). Well, the "dinner" was crackers, cheese, fruit and coldcuts. The DJ played the techno-Asian and hip-hop so loud we had to yell at each other. The cruise itself was great! Two hours and the boat was very stable and well-piloted. Even bad food and music can't mess up the views. We saw both daylight views and the beautiful night-time lit skylines of Manhattan. We also saw Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. If you want to go out on this boat, just say no to the dinner package. ;-)

Hornblower Cruise was the best decision I made to have my 25th birthday. I am a little late in writing this review however my birthday was approaching quickly and I just knew I wanted to plan something different. I wanted to do something exciting for my birthday and out of the box and I know I wanted it on a yacht. However during that time I realized very quickly having my birthday on yatch would run me anywhere from $3,000-$5,000 and not only did I not have that kind of money I also did not have enough time to save for that kind of money. Searching through Google I found many yacht websites and read many reviews, only a few seemed promising but after narrowing them down based on my preference, reviews I read and talking to the manager of each company, Hornblower was the best. I planned and booked everything through the manager Mr. Kelly and another gentlemen who left quite early in the planning of my birthday. Mr. Kelly was very accommodating and patient with me while planning this event. I had 23 friends celebrate my birthday with me and although getting there was a another story within itself, my birthday was amazing! I did not know that Hornblower or Mr. Kelly would have provided the whole lower deck completely for me and my guest. I was so happy because it almost felt like I rented the whole yacht, so we had the vibe of having a private yacht although we still had access to the other three floors of the deck. None the less I had an amazing time, the hor devours were good and the staff that accompanied us that night was AMAZING, if it was not anything else I could say, their staff truly help make my night extra special. I love Hornblower cruise and would NOT hesitate to host another party here again!

Amazing dinner cruise around New sailing below the Brooklyn Bridge and getting up close to the Statue of Liberty! Incredible food and very helpful and friendly staff helped made this a firm highlight of our New York Holiday!

Had a small wedding (22 guests) onboard the hybrid yatch. It was quite lovely apart from some minor glitches. Will highlight the bad first so I don't end on a sour note. My wedding was last minute and was planned in weeks rather than months/years. Mekina, the event planner was instrumental in helping me pull it off. She was awesome. The wedding package did not include a wedding coordinator for the planning but they have one (Rachael) who Mekina referred my questions to throughout the planning phase. She was useless. I don't get married every day so you would think over the course of the weeks of my emails and phone calls she would ask if I wanted to decorate the arch, cover the chairs, place center pieces etc. I was aghast to show up on the day of to find a naked metal arch. Anyway, guess I should have done my research. My biggest problem was that when we arrived at 5:30 there was no parking attendant to open the gate. We pressed the buzzer over and over and waited and waited. Nothing. Called hornblower main line and got voicemail (closed on weekends). I got Rachael's cell phone number from the photographer (this was not given to me and I had no idea the main number didn't work on weekends) but of course she did not answer the phone. My party and I had to finally get out of the limo and walk in the cold, with wedding dress dragging and getting dirty, through the long back entrance. As if that was not bad enough, Rachael was supposed to be personal assistant for 1/2 hour prior to the ceremony (this was included in the package) Her attitude was 'I don't want to be here' . She grumbled her responses to questions and didn't do any assisting really. Anyway enough of that. What an excellent wait staff! Exceptional. They catered smilingly to our every need. The food also was superb. Absolutely delicious. The dj played a wide variety of music and entertained some of our requests even though this was a public cruise. Everybody had great time on the dance floor. The yatch is beautiful and afforded great views of the city even though it was too cold for outdoors. The captain who officiated was so pleasant and professional. I have all these people to thank for what was, all in all a wonderful wedding. Bottom line is its wonderful attraction and great for a wedding also if you have your own wedding planner or know what you are doing because there is no help in that department.

My partner and I did a New Year's Eve cruise on The Hornblower Hybrid. The party was organised by the Hornblower company itself and we got to say, they did a fabulous job! Boarding started at 8.30 pm, the yacht left the pier at 9.30 pm and the cruise ended at 1.30 am. The package we chose stated 'cruise-style seating' and we ended up with a table for two right at the window with a perfect view. The description also said that there will be a buffet dinner. There was more than enough food for everyone and it was kept out for several hours. It included delicious salmon, perfectly cooked beef, ham, rice, potatoes, salad, roast vegetables etc...... It was delicious! The waiters were very friendly and the service was outstanding. Our champagne glasses were topped up constantly and the open bar had everything we wanted. The dessert buffet was as generous as the dinner buffet and the variety of desserts was overwhelming. Miniature Tiramisu, cheesecakes and chocolate mousses, brownies, pastries and brandy snaps. Yummy! The highlight, of course, was watching the mind-blowing fireworks at the Statue of Liberty whilst listening to Frank Sinatra - New York and sipping champagne.... The perfect New Year's Eve!

At nearly 10,000 square feet and fitted with wall-to-ceiling windows, the Infinity’s First Deck has the space and class to rival the city’s finest clubs–just with better views. This space features a champagne bar with custom oyster counter tops, a state-of-the-art sound system, and customizable LED lighting. The First Deck suits everything from large cocktail parties and seated dinners to lectures, screenings and fashion shows.

Second Deck

At nearly 6,000 square feet, the Second Deck looks out over the magnificent Manhattan skyline. This bright and lively room accommodates dinners of up to 200 seated guests or 400 standing. It’s perfect for receptions, cocktail parties or business mixers.

The pinnacle of Infinity’s luxurious appointments is on full display with the Third Deck. A truly unique and trendsetting experience, it boasts ten private seating areas, all equipped with LED screens that come out of the windowsills. This lounge-style is well suited for medium to large cocktail parties, seated dinners, lectures and meetings of between 100 to 200 guests.

The Sky Deck is located in the Pilot House and features 360-degree views of Manhattan, Brooklyn Bridge and the Statue of Liberty. For the first time Rosatom Fuel Division supplied fresh nuclear fuel to the world’s only floating nuclear cogeneration plant in the Arctic

The fuel was supplied to the northernmost town of Russia along the Northern Sea Route.

The first in the history of the power plant refueling, that is, the replacement of spent nuclear fuel with fresh one, is planned to begin before 2024. The manufacturer of nuclear fuel for all Russian nuclear icebreakers, as well as the Akademik Lomonosov FNPP, is Machinery Manufacturing Plant, Joint-Stock Company (MSZ JSC), a company of Rosatom Fuel Company TVEL that is based in Elektrostal, Moscow Region.

The FNPP includes two KLT-40S reactors of the icebreaking type. Unlike convenient ground-based large reactors (that require partial replacement of fuel rods once every 12-18 months), in the case of these reactors, the refueling takes place once every few years and includes unloading of the entire reactor core and loading of fresh fuel into the reactor.

The cores of KLT-40 reactors of the Akademik Lomonosov floating power unit have a number of advantages compared to the reference ones: a cassette core was used for the first time in the history of the unit, which made it possible to increase the fuel energy resource to 3-3.5 years between refuelings, and also reduce the fuel component of the electricity cost by one and a half times. The FNPP operating experience formed the basis for the designs of reactors for nuclear icebreakers of the newest series 22220. Three such icebreakers have been launched by now.

For the first time the power units of the Akademik Lomonosov floating nuclear power plant were connected to the grid in December 2019, and put into commercial operation in May 2020. The supply of nuclear fuel from Elektrostal to Pevek and its loading into the second reactor is planned for 2024. The total power of the Akademik Lomonosov FNPP, supplied to the coastal grid of Pevek without thermal energy consumption on shore, is about 76 MW, being about 44 MW in the maximum thermal power supply mode. The FNPP generated 194 million kWh according to the results of 2023. The population of Pevek is just a little more than 4 thousand, while the FNPP has a potential for supplying electricity to a city with a population of up to 100 thousand people. After the FNPP commissioning two goals were achieved. These include first of all the replacement of the retiring capacities of the Bilibino NPP, which has been operating since 1974, as well as the Chaunskaya TPP, which has already been operating for more than 70 years. Secondly, energy is supplied to the main mining companies in western Chukotka in the Chaun-Bilibino energy hub a large ore and metal cluster, including gold mining companies and projects related to the development of the Baimsk ore zone. In September 2023, a 110 kilovolt power transmission line with a length of 490 kilometers was put into operation, connecting the towns of Pevek and Bilibino. The line increased the reliability of energy supply from the FNPP to both Bilibino consumers and mining companies, the largest of which is the Baimsky GOK. The comprehensive development of the Russian Arctic is a national strategic priority. To increase the NSR traffic is of paramount importance for accomplishment of the tasks set in the field of cargo shipping. This logistics corridor is being developed due regular freight voyages, construction of new nuclear-powered icebreakers and modernization of the relevant infrastructure. Rosatom companies are actively involved in this work. Rosatom Fuel Company TVEL (Rosatom Fuel Division) includes companies fabricating nuclear fuel, converting and enriching uranium, manufacturing gas centrifuges, conducting researches and producing designs. As the only nuclear fuel supplier to Russian NPPs, TVEL supplies fuel for a total of 75 power reactors in 15 countries, for research reactors in nine countries, as well as for propulsion reactors of the Russian nuclear fleet. Every sixth power reactor in the world runs on TVEL fuel. Rosatom Fuel Division is the world’s largest producer of enriched uranium and the leader on the global stable isotope market. The Fuel Division is actively developing new businesses in chemistry, metallurgy, energy storage technologies, 3D printing, digital products, and decommissioning of nuclear facilities. TVEL also includes Rosatom integrators for additive technologies and electricity storage systems. Rosenergoatom, Joint-Stock Company is part of Rosatom Electric Power Division and one of the largest companies in the industry acting as an operator of nuclear power plants. It includes, as its branches, 11 operating NPPs, including the FNPP, the Scientific and Technical Center for Emergency Operations at NPPs, Design and Engineering as well as Technological companies. In total, 37 power units with a total installed capacity of over 29.5 GW are in operation at 11 nuclear power plants in Russia. Machinery Manufacturing Plant, Joint-Stock Company (MSZ JSC, Elektrostal) is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of fuel for nuclear power plants. The company produces fuel assemblies for VVER-440, VVER-1000, RBMK-1000, BN-600,800, VK-50, EGP-6; powders and fuel pellets intended for supply to foreign customers. It also produces nuclear fuel for research reactors. The plant belongs to the TVEL Fuel Company of Rosatom.

Dmitry Korchak (born February 19, 1979 in Elektrostal/Moscow Oblast) is a Russian tenor and conductor.

Korchak received his musical education at the Moscow Choral Academy. In 2004 he won prizes at the “Francisco Viñas” International Singing Competition in Barcelona and at the Plácido Domingo Operalia International Competition in Los Angeles.

As a singer he has appeared at La Scala in Milan, the Vienna State Opera, the Berlin State Opera Unter den Linden, the Paris Opera Bastille, London’s Covent Garden and New York’s Carnegie Hall. He has collaborated with artists such as Daniel Barenboim, Riccardo Chailly, Plácido Domingo, Lorin Maazel, Zubin Mehta and Kent Nagano.

From 2017 to 2020, Dmitry Korchak was Principal Guest Conductor at the Novosibirsk Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, where he directed his own festival, and Guest Conductor at the Mikhailovsky Theater in Saint Petersburg.

Korchak has made several guest appearances at the Kissinger Sommer, the Salzburg Festival and the Rossini Festival in Pesaro, where he also worked as a conductor. Korchak also worked with the Bavarian Radio Orchestra and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, among others.
