Marlow Yachts is a luxury motor yacht builder based in Palmetto, Florida. The line of Marlow Explorers are designed by naval architect Douglas Zurn. Kevlar hulls and vinylester resin make Marlow Yachts durable and able to sustain rough sea conditions. Marlow is mindful of chemicals and products used to build yachts; its production facility is the first “green” facility in China, winning the Yachts International Environmental Award.

David Marlow founded Marlow Yachts in 2000; however, the company’s origin dates back to the mid 1990s, when ideas were born and rough sketches were drafted. Marlow’s production facility is located in China. Palmetto, Florida is home to its sales and service headquarters.

Marlow is mindful of all chemicals and products used to build their yachts. They chose to manufacture Kevlar hulls due to their durability to withstand rough sea conditions. Vinylester resins, with epoxy in selected areas, were used to build the Marlow Explorer. Marlow made its debut in the 2001 Miami International Boat Show with its first launch, the Marlow Explorer 65C. Since then, the number of Marlow Explorer models has increased, ranging from 49 to 97 feet.

MARLOW PILOT

The rebirth of a classic.

In the summer of 2012, David Marlow, owner of Marlow Yachts, acquired the iconic sailboat brand Hunter Marine and the trawler brand “Mainship”.

Since that time David Marlow and his design team in Alachua, FL have designed four new trawler models Marlow Pilot 31, Marlow Pilot 32, Marlow Pilot 37 and more recently the Marlow Pilot 34. Building upon some of the design ideas that came from the Mainship brand coupled with many new and innovative ideas and techniques added from David Marlow’s success with his Marlow Yacht brand, the new Marlow Pilots are simply stunning.

From the high tech offshore capable construction of Nida-Core to replace balsa-core, Kevlar added along with stitched FRP fabrics, vinyl ester resins and the elimination of the chopper gun from the construction process to create better glass to resin ratios, the new Marlow Pilots are proving themselves with a resurgence back into the trawler market.

Technologies developed by Marlow are being integrated to allow classification to high international standards, far exceeding minimum criteria described or imposed by regulatory authorities worldwide. This new line of Marlow trawlers with others in development now will challenge all similar products in value, capability, performance, seaworthiness and quality with the mission statement to “Build Simply The Best”.

Her low draft of makes her primed for accessing shallow areas and cruising close to the shorelines. Her water tanks store around 3,300 Litres of fresh water.
