Designated a world heritage site in 2004, the Islas Marietas National Park tour is undoubtedly one of the  best things to do in Puerto Vallarta . These islands are also known as the “Mexican Galapagos”.

Its beautiful hidden beach, Playa del Amor, is  incredibly unique , and the surrounding area is magnificent.

The Marietas Islands got their shape and impressive geography due to  volcanic activity  many centuries ago. To add to that, it was a  bomb test site  for the Mexican military back in the 1900s. The large explosions caused many of the caves and rock formations to be created. In the 1960s, the government decided to declare the islands a national park.

Service was amazing from the first time I contacted the company through the end of the trip. Captain and First Mate took care of all of our needs and wants. Carlos from start to finish was an absolute joy to work with. He not only coordinated food and transportation for our group of 20 but he also upgraded us to a newer boat as a special treat for my birthday. He can also coordinate alcohol delivery and a DJ. His crew was so attentive and our drinks were never empty. We’ve rented boats the last 4 times visiting PV and this was by far the best experience. This is as everything we hoped for. You’re going to take a chance booking a boat but this one is not going to disappoint. Everyone was friendly and the process through GetMyBoat was easy. Early on I was still unsure since I had been burned booking things online before but everything turned out great and as described. I do recommend having you’re own itinerary planned but also trust their feedback on the time it takes to get to know them places. Have fun and you can’t go wrong with this one!

Can anyone tell me more about this street? On the internet it shows beautiful colored houses. Are they all like that on this street? What is it close to on the Malecon? Thanks.

Basilio is just a nice, busy street with lots of restaurants, art galleries and stores. From the corner of Olas Altas and Basilio, you can walk many blocks along Basilio towards the mountains and just explore. I find it can get a bit too busy with crowds in high season, and I sometimes want to get away from the crowds to some of the quieter side streets, but it should be fine at this time of year. Not sure which coloured buildings you are referring to. Olas Altas street is also a fun street to walk along from one end to the malecon, with many restaurants and cafes. Both are close to the malecon and the pier. Just walk around the city and enjoy.

We love going up and down Basilio Badillo (and the whole area) every day. Lots of eateries, shops , bakery, art gallery, and activities right there. Something new around every corner.

No they are definitely NOT all like that on the street -lol!!

Places on B. Badillo include Cafe de Olla, Fredy's El Tucan, The Pancake House, Margarita Grill, loads of fun shops, bakeries, arts & crafts, etc. etc.
