The Flora-Bama Yacht Club on Perdido Key, Florida is a great restaurant for live music, fun, and delicious food.

While the Flora-Bama Yacht Club is technically in Florida, it is pretty darn close to the Alabama line. Considering there is a sign in the parking lot that is split between the two states, you can choose if you feel like being in Alabama or Florida.

Either way the time you spend at the Yacht Club will be fun with great food!

Relax on the open air deck or head down to a chair in the gorgeous white sand beach. This legendary restaurant is part of the Flora-Bama family of restaurants and experiences.

Indoor Seating

There is comfortable indoor seating available with multiple sizes of tables. The chairs are super comfortable!

There is a great indoor bar right when you enter the restaurant. They have all of the tropical cocktails you can dream of including the world-famous Bushwacker.

Outdoor Seating

The outdoor seating includes picnic tables on the wood deck and in the sand near the water.

The menu is filled with fresh seasonal ingredients, seafood, burgers, and so much more.

Menu Highlights

Flora Bama Yacht Club serves Island Time Oysters which are locally grown in the Gulf Waters surrounding Dauphin Island, Alabama.

Each oyster is hand-shucked to guarantee quality and consistency!

Appetizer Highlights - Seared Yellowfin Tuna Sashimi, Cilantro Lime Hummus, Asian Ahi Tuna Nachos, Gulf Coast Blue Crab Claws, Smoked Tuna Dip, Oysters, Firecracker Calamari, Greek Shrimp Nachos, Firecracker Coconut Shrimp, and more!

World Famous Gumbo -  Traditional roux-based gumbo with house-made shrimp stock. Loaded with Conecuh sausage and Gulf shrimp.

Salads - Greek Salad, Raspberry Pecan Salad, Traditional Chicken Caesar Salad

The Raspberry Pecan Salad pictures above is one of the best salads I have had since moving to the Gulf Coast. I would drive to the Flora Bama Yacht Club just to get this salad it is that good.

Normally it has praline pecans on it but I had them removed.

Entree Highlights

Creole Rigatoni - Rigatoni pasta tossed in a creole gouda cream with crawfish tails, Conecuh sausage, and Gulf shrimp topped with a Parmesan panko crust.

Filet Mignon - 8 oz hand cut, certified Angus beef.  Served with buttered baby Yukon gold potatoes and steamed local vegetables.

Chicken Pontchartrain - Pan sautéed chicken served with creamy Cajun rice and seasonal vegetables topped with a crawfish Julie cream sauce.

Caribbean Jerk Shrimp Skewers - Jerk style Gulf shrimp skewers with mango slaw and vanilla rum butter. Served with Cajun rice and seasonal vegetables.

Gulf Seafood Trio - A true taste of Gulf seafood including fried oysters, shrimp and fish.  The best way to sample what Gulf seafood is all about.

Mahi Mahi Reuben - Grilled marble rye with Mahi Mahi, Swiss cheese, coleslaw and Thousand Island.

Build your own Bama Burger - Your choice of Swiss, cheddar cheese, blue cheese, pepper jack cheese, grilled onion, mushrooms, bacon, jalapeño, lettuce, tomato, red onions and pickles.

This burger is so good it made our best burgers in Orange Beach list!

Grilled Mahi Taco - With house slaw, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese and spicy mayo drizzle.

Kids Menu - We did not see a designated kids menu

Gluten-Free - They have oysters, salads, ribeye steak, filet mignon, fresh seafood, and more!

Vegan/ Vegetarian - When I asked what the best options were for a vegetarian I was told the salads are the best idea. I have to tell you I would drive 15-20 minutes from our house to get to the Flora-Bama Yacht Club weekly to enjoy the raspberry pecan salad.

This is one of the best salads I have had since moving to the Gulf Coast.

Hours - Sun - Thu 11:00 am  -  9:00 pm

Please confirm with the restaurant to ensure that hours have not changed.

Accessibility -There are accessible parking spaces near the main entrance to the restaurant. There is a ramp leading to the restrooms.

The parking lot is gravel and a bit uneven. If you are with someone with mobility restrictions you may want to drop them off at the front entrance and then park the car.

Plus Size Seating - There are chairs inside that do not have arms on them. The bar seats do not have arms but are at bar height.

The outdoor seating is picnic tables with attached benches.

Dress Code/Suggestions - Casual

Pets - Dogs are not allowed in the restaurant.

Parking   - There is a great parking area right outside of the restaurant.

If you are local and have friends in town the Flora-Bama Yacht Club is a great place to spend time! Our good friend Rob from 2 Travel Dads was in town and we had such a great lunch.

We have not been in 3 years since my dad passed away, but when we did, we ate there 2 or 3 times in the week we were there. It was our favorite. The Lobster Corn Dog was a starter then on to Mahi plate... and Bengie Fries, others had shrimp, grilled ceasar salad with chicken, shrimp po boy and chicken fingers. These were favorites. But we tried everything. But can't mess with the favorites. Looking at the menu I see alot of changes. Will go back again when able. Hope to see some of my favorites back or will accommodate. More

Arrived today and unpacked and worked up an appetite. My only negative is the staff do not wear masks, I know ... we r in Florida now but it would offer good protection for wait staff as well as customers.. Now for the good part... .. I had a side salad first which was perfect in size .. not too big and fresh.. then my main dish which was the Creole Rigatoni ...sauce was delish, could have used more conecuh sausage , but was more than enough pasta and seafood to eat. My boyfriend had the fried combo platter, shrimp and fish .. he also had plenty to eat ( although the slaw was one big bite for him!) and it was not at all greasy. The real pleasure was our server, Hannah who was very attentive, and just a delightful person, she gifted us with coupons for a special for our next visit which we fully intend to make! More

The place was dirty. Not what we were expecting at all. Trash cans to the brim. Tables dirty. And they didn’t seem to follow any kind of safety guidelines for the reopening after the pandemic. They made us sit outside at dirty picnic tables during... gale force winds even though we said we’d wait longer for inside seating. We could hardly hold our glasses and plates and eat. We each had the mahi mahi tacos and they were nothing special. The best thing about the place was the live singer. He was good. It was a recommended place on here per reviews went in the afternoon had a burger and a cocktail. Wait staff was average not anything that sticks out. Food and drink was so so my meal was around $20 for the drink and burger. View... of water was nice and I’m sure it would be a funner atmosphere in evening adding in live music. Our first time here, have seen it on food shows etc.. we were met by Billy and he explained what we needed to do and where we could order drinks and food and where we could sit. He even helped in delivering our food, answering... our questions and telling us about the history of Flora-Bama. I had the burger which was very good, others had the shrimp dish and oysters. Everyone was happy. My only regret was there was no live music while we were there. We truly enjoyed our experience here. If you prefer white table cloth dining don’t come here. If you enjoy life and all it’s quirks they Flora-Bama is made for you. More

Flora Bama Yacht Club is a fun place to get drinks, eat some apps, listen to music and have a good time. But every time I eat there I disappoint myself (that I came back there to eat). They sling food as fast as they... sling their drinks. I ordered the crab cakes $32, which were not cakes at all. They were more of a crab casserole. I am pretty sure the crab cakes fell on the ground and they scooped them up and plated them. My friend had the Creole Rigatoni, which came out as a weak pasta soup. Anyway, fun place,just order wings or a burger and enjoy the fun. More

They say they offer Gluten Free options, but what that amounts to is something from the menu WITHOUT A BUN. I ordered grilled fish (from a Po Boy) - I got blackened, pretty dry blackened. Even the waitress said that they don't have much of... an allergy free menu, & in a southern drawl, "I apologize for that.". Certainly not HER fault, but didn't help much. Of the 6 orders at our table, 3 were wrong, but she did take the 2 burger mistakes off the bill. Cocktails were ok, nothing special. Not worth the drive from Gulf Shores. More

Fun restaurant! Very casual with picnic style tables. We ordered and shared the greek shrimp loaded nacho's and a mahi mahi reuben. Both entree's were delicious. The greek shrimp nacho's were very similar to and very well may have been a deep fried wonton chip... (which we were not expecting) but was an unusual and interesting twist to the typical nacho. They were covered with a feta cheese mixture with small grilled shrimps. This was a very generous portion in which the two of us could not finish. I love a good ruebin so replacing the corned beef with the mahi mahi was a tasty healthy replacement in which I really enjoyed. Our server was really pleasant and accommodating. Overall this was a great dinner and we will certainly look forward to coming back. More

On 9-2-2023, went here for dinner, drinks, desert and live music. We ordered blackened triple tail. We were served grilled (not blackened) fish. We have ordered the same thing many times before. Advised waitress that food was great, but not what we ordered. Advised server... that this was not prepared as it always has been. We asked that the kitchen be advised so that they know what was wrong, so that it would be prepared correctly the next time. The manager closed our ticket. We did not want free food, as the food was delicious, just not prepared as we ordered.. instead of correcting the problem, our ticket was closed out so we could not order desert or any additional cocktails. Instead of fixing the problem so that it wouldn’t happen again, we were rushed out the door. When we asked to pay for what we had eaten, we were told we couldn’t pay, as our check had been closed out. We were not allowed to order desert or any additional cocktails. We were treated as if we complained to get free food, when all we wanted was to let them know that a problem had occurred, and to be allowed to spend more money at this establishment. More

Will not return. We expected a wait to be seated but we waited over an hour to receive our food. One of the salads came without the chicken that was ordered. The Mahi tacos were drenched in sauce and just a little bit of slaw... on it. Overall, a bit overpriced and staff shortage is not worth a visit. More

This is a staple for stopping for food. Always a pleasure to come and sit - whether with people or alone. I love my trips here, only this last time, I was overcharged and the salad was drowned in dressing making it unedible... yes I... told the server/barender and all she did was take it away and not replace it but still charged me for it. Was looking forward to visiting this spot because we like beach bars. I had a horrible vodka with club soda that was flat. The first mistake was the denial that there was anything wrong with the drink (manager said CO2 is full was the response... from the server). The second mistake was charging me for the disgusting flat drink that remained untouched aside from the first sip. Poor customer service in inexcusable. We will never go back. We come here at least once a week and I’m constantly blown away by the service, food, music and overall vibe but I have to take a moment to recognize the bestest server who absolutely ROCKED IT! Hannah V. not only was informative, recommending stuff,... etc. she served us with an upbeat and smiling face. She made sure our drinks never went dry, our food was perfect, closed out our bar tab we created while waiting for a table, etc. Flora-Bama you have one hell of a server here and she absolutely takes the best care of your customers!!!!
