The Mia Services

All cruises are BYOB for alcoholic beverages, food or snacks. A chef can be provided if desired to prepare your special meal, additional info and cost will be provided upon request. Full galley, grill, coolers, ice, bottled water, sodas, glasses and place settings, utensils, blender, and crew is provided. ​Sunset times vary throughout the year, for times available click please send a request for your desired dates.

• If you are booking for a single day and your reservation is confirmed more than 7 days in advance, a deposit of either $1,000 USD or 50% of the total cost of the reservation (whichever is greater) is processed immediately in order to hold the yacht. Once your embarkation date is 7 days away, the remainder of the amount due is processed.
• If you are booking for a single day and your reservation is made 7 days or less in advance, the total price of your reservation is processed immediately.
• If you are booking for a multi-day charter and your reservation is confirmed more than 30 days in advance, a deposit of 50% of the cost of the yacht is processed immediately in order to hold the yacht. Once your embarkation date is 30 days away, the other 50% is collected for the price of the yacht, plus the APA, plus the taxes due.

Terms of refunds are dictated by the Charter Agreement. Generally, once a payment is collected, it is non-refundable. In certain circumstances, as dictated by the Charter Agreement, credits can be provided so you will be able to enjoy your yacht charter at a future date that is convenient for you.

Rental Details:

If you have driven a boat less than 20 times in the ocean or never in the keys, it is recommended that you navigate to our captained charters page. having a captain teach you the area before going on your own, better prepares you for a successful trip. florida keys waters are not for inexperienced boaters. we do not allow boats to go to the dry tortugas or marquesas. night time operation of the vessels is not allowed. certain weather conditions may cause cancellations or being required to hire one of our licensed guides (unless operator has captains license with florida keys experience). rentals may run the motor a maximum of 50% of the rental at the prices listed, additional hours of motor run time over 50% of rental time will be an additional charge per hour. multiple trips (i.e. taxiing back and forth) not permitted in a single day rental..

Renters must be atleast 25 years of age. Renters born on or after 1988 must pass a Boater’s Safety Test before check in. This test can be taken online at https://boattests101.com/united-states/florida/florida-rental?mcid=vjqhyCK1

Valid credit card and picture ID is required for rentals. Rental agreements, paperwork, and all other details will be done at time of check in. Credit card information and a $200 deposit is required to hold reservations. One week is required for cancellations, cancellations with less than one week notice will be charged in full. No towables (wake-boards, skis, tubes, etc.) allowed. Night time operation of the vessels is not allowed. Renters must have prior boating experience. Credit card and deposit will be held on file for damage, lost articles, or breach of contract. Renter is responsible for damage that occurs to the vessel during the duration of the rental period.

Rowboat trip to Key West successful despite shark, manatee and bear threat

Well, Brian Brennan made it . Sure, he was attacked once by a shark, and another time his rowboat hit a manatee. There were some bears that kept him up one night and by the time he was done, his hands were calloused and he had lost 25 pounds. But Brennan had done it. The Navy veteran and retired chiropractor had rowed a small boat from Pensacola to Key West Florida on a months-long, nearly 900-mile journey to r aise money for disabled veterans .

Brennan took off from Flounder's on Pensacola Beach on March 31 − Easter morning − on his 18 foot long, 3 foot wide skiff, Daily Oar Deal. He had hoped to arrive in his destination of Key West on his 67th birthday on June 7 but missed by a month because of weather delays. He finally arrived in Key West on July 6, spending his birthday rowing alone without cell service in the Everglades.

The goal of the rowing mission was to raise money and awareness for the Disabled American Veterans organization. Brennan met veterans during his stops along the way, and did press with media during the trip , which raised $12,400 for the nonprofit organization. As a chiropractor and in civil service, Brennan helped treat disabled veterans in the past.

He spent months in preparation for the excursion, rowing regularly from Bayou Texar to Pensacola Beach, then back again. Brennan had to to prepare him for what was to come, which included wildlife adventures.

"I got attacked by a shark,'' he said back in Pensacola, the skiff − still stuffed with maps, dehydrated food packets, radar and other electrical equipment and other gear − now in the driveway. "It was a six-foot Mako shark, and he came by and tried to bite (the oar) and missed it and rolled over on his back and tried to bite the back of the boat, but he couldn't get his teeth around it." Soon, the shark was off somewhere in the waters off Horseshoe Beach in Florida's Big Bend area.

"I ran over a manatee,'' he said of one encounter off Marco Island near Naples. "He picked me and the boat up about a foot in the air and then shook me to the side."

Each day, weather permitting, Brennan would row about 12 to 22 miles a day, sleeping in a tent in some areas, his boat at times, and sometimes in hotels before heading out the next day.

One night near Carrabelle, east of Apalachicola, Brennan camped in an area where he was warned there was bear activity. Someone gave him an air horn to use just in case.

"It usually scared them away,'' the man told Brennan. "Usually."

It was one of his worst nights of sleep, he said.

Still, the trip was worth it, he said, noting the need to help veterans and their families.

"I met a lot of veterans and their families,'' Brennan said of his journey. "Everybody has a veteran story. If it's not you, it's your grandfather or brother or best friend. I got a lot of donations along the way. At restaurants, waitresses would give their next tip. It was impressive."

So is Brennan, said his "cheerleader" and cousin Shubob Seymour.

"I've never heard of anyone trying to attempt this and he was talking about this 30 years ago when he was a lifeguard in New Jersey,'' Seymour said. "Move 30 years forward and he flippin' does it and now he's 67. We both are but I could never accomplish when he did. And the best thing is, he's giving back to the community and to the veterans."

LITTLE TORCH KEY, Fla. – A report from Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission investigators released Friday suggests impairment may have played a role in an overnight boat crash in the Lower Florida Keys earlier in the week.

The crash happened at around 2 a.m. Monday at the South Pine Channel Bridge, off Little Torch Key.

In the report, FWC investigators said Lawrence L. Lewis, 42, of Big Pine Key, was operating the “fishing charter vessel” when he slammed into the bridge “at an unsafe speed.”

“Alcohol does appear to be a factor,” investigators wrote.

Investigators told Local 10 News on Friday that Lewis was believed to have been drinking throughout the whole trip and officials with the Monroe County State Attorney’s Office said his captain’s license had expired.

Investigators said they found tequila and beer cans and bottles amid the wreckage.

The seven passengers, ranging in age from 11 to 38, were all from northern Florida: Six were from Live Oak and another was from Lake City.

All eight people aboard were hurt in the crash; three had to be airlifted to Miami-area hospitals.

The boat’s outboard motors identified the vessel as belonging to charter company Nauti Tails Fishing Charters, which is based on Big Pine Key.

A woman who answered the phone at the business on Monday confirmed her husband was involved but said she wasn’t sure if the crash happened during a chartered trip or a family trip.

Eighteen-year-old passenger Waylon Poole, of Live Oak, briefly spoke to Local 10 News on Friday.

“We went fishing with a fishing captain and we hit a bridge,” he said. “It came out of nowhere.”

Officials have not yet confirmed whether Lewis will face any criminal charges in connection with the crash.

SAO officials said the officials conducted a blood draw on Lewis once he arrived at the hospital and those toxicology results remained pending as of Friday.
