66m offshore vessel Project UFO no longer undergoing conversion at Lürssen
The 66-metre offshore rescue vessel Project UFO, also known as Ocean Falcon , will no longer undergo its conversion at Lürssen . The vessel arrived at the shipyard's facilities in Bremen, Germany in September 2022, where she was set to receive a four-metre extension and be converted into an explorer yacht for charter .
"The combined UFO-Lürssen teams have been diligently revising and evaluating the feasibility of the conversion of the Offshore and Rescue vessel Ocean Falcon as initially designed," read a statement from Lürssen. "After a thorough review, the Lürssen engineering team identified a number of challenges that make it difficult to fully meet the expectations of all parties involved. Therefore, the project decided to leave the Lürssen shipyard."
This is the second shipyard that has accepted but ultimately not gone through with Project UFO's conversion. The first was Icon Yachts , who announced its plans to take on the rebuild at the 2022 Monaco Yacht Show .
Original plans for the conversion project indicated a high-volume interior with room for four tenders, a submarine, a 10-metre swimming pool and two fully certified helicopter landing pads with an accompanying helicopter hanger. In addition, guests would have access to an expedition preparation room and a separate diving centre.
Alberto Perrone, director of yacht services at Lürssen had previously stated: "UFO is not a yacht in the traditional sense, but neither is it an explorer or support vessel. The best way to describe this new type of vessel is as a 'Pick-Up Truck' on the water. We are well-positioned for such a conversion – the outstanding engineering capabilities of Lürssen and our experience is of great benefit for the project."
Prior to this development, the shipyard had added: "Much of the existing structure, hull and systems are to be retained – so the vessel will stay true to her commercial look but function like a yacht."
It is unknown whether the conversion will continue at another shipyard.

Featuring exterior design by Murray & Associates, UFO takes cues from Icon’s conversion yacht Project Master that it penned in partnership with world-famous naval architect Espen Øino. The original vessel will be lengthened from 217 feet to 230 feet and will subsequently offer a generous interior volume of 3,000 GT. According to Icon, UFO will be one of the largest explorer yachts in its class once complete.
Onboard, a new superstructure will be added to create more expansive (and luxurious) living quarters. The interior, courtesy of H2 Yacht Design, will feature two primary suites that open out to each side and three convertible VIPs that can be turned into six staterooms when needed. All up, UFO will be able to accomodate 12 guests for charter and 18 during private cruising.
As for amenities, UFO will be fitted with a large outdoor pool, a gym, a spa, a 12-seater Jacuzzi, a beach club, a sizable swim platform, a dive center and an expedition preparation room in which you can plan voyages. The yacht will also be equipped with two fully-certified helicopter landing pads and a hangar that is able to house an EC145 chopper and a submarine. Other vessels on deck include a sportfisher, a 39-foot tender, a 29-foot landing craft, a wakeboard tender and a rescue tender, plus a full fleet of water toys.

One year since ICON Yachts and a client of the shipyard began conceptualising a luxury yacht at the Monaco Yacht Show , the company is ready to reveal the luxury explorer yacht PROJECT UFO .
Project UFO – rendering
After the impressive expedition yacht PROJECT MASTER from Espen Oeino and ICON Yachts was revealed at the last Monaco Yacht Show, the client decided on a conversion for taking him and his family on worldwide adventures with plenty of luxuries tucked away on board.
Offshore Rescue and Support Vessel underway to Icon Yachts
While searching for a suitable platform to convert, the team came across a 66m/216.6ft Offshore Rescue and Support Vessel which proved perfect for the brief. Several modifications will ensure that E/Y PROJECT UFO provides comfort and luxury on board: The platform will be lengthened to 70m/229.7ft for the inclusion of a desirable beach club in the stern.

Furthermore, the addition of a superstructure and modification of the current interior spaces will create generous cabins – including an Owner’s suite and four convertible VIP staterooms – for the Owner and guests, with the potential for charter in the future. Several saloons and recreational areas are planned for entertaining on voyages long or short, all styled by H2 Interior Design.

The exterior decks will also benefit from the superstructure addition, creating more outdoor space to host tenders, water toys and a submarine, plus two helipads and a hangar. Other notable amenities include a dedicated expedition room with a separate dive centre, a gym and Fiji Room with spa/sauna facilities, a bridge deck Jacuzzi that seats 12, and a 10m/32.9ft outdoor pool.

Underwater UFOs display capability that ‘jeopardizes US maritime security,’ ex-Navy officer says
UFOs that have shown the ability to seamlessly transition from air to sea without a splash or crash debris are an "urgent" national security concern with "world-changing" scientific ramifications, an ex-Navy officer said.
In July 2019, the USS Omaha recorded a UFO – or UAP (unidentified anomalous phenomena) – that buzzed a Navy fleet off San Diego and disappeared into the ocean without a trace.
The video, first released by Jeremy Corbell and verified by the Pentagon, displays capability that "jeopardizes U.S. maritime security, which is already weakened by our relative ignorance about the global ocean," oceanographer and retired Rear Adm. Tim Gallaudet said.
"The fact that unidentified objects with unexplainable characteristics are entering US water space and the DOD is not raising a giant red flag is a sign that the government is not sharing all it knows about all-domain anomalous phenomena," Gallaudet wrote in his March 2024 report.
‘UFO REVOLUTION’ DOCUSERIES SHOWS UAP FLYING OVER MILITARY BASE, ‘BLOWS UP DECADES OF CONSPIRACIES’: EXPERT
Gallaudet sent the strong warning message in a 29-page report for the Sol Foundation, a think tank focused on researching UAPs and their implications, that was published last month.

He told Fox News Digital that it's "scientifically valid" to explore these unexplained transmedium (between the atmosphere and the ocean) events involving objects displaying abilities that have never been seen before.
CONGRESSMAN HAS GRIM TAKE AFTER ACCESS TO UFO FOOTAGE: THIS TECH ‘COULD TURN US INTO A CHARCOAL BRIQUETTE’
"Pilots, credible observers and calibrated military instrumentation have recorded objects accelerating at rates and crossing the air–sea interface in ways not possible for anything made by humans," Gallaudet wrote in his report.
They defy physics while being far superior in terms of engineering and materials needed to create this type of craft that could revolutionize virtually every aspect of human life from air and maritime transportation to energy generation to agriculture, he argues.
"To meet the security and scientific challenges, transmedium UAP and USOs should be elevated to national ocean research priorities," Gallaudet argues.
WATCH JEREMY CORBELL'S VIDEO OF UFO GOING FROM AIR TO SEA
The Department of Defense or NASA still haven't been able to explain the UFO seen in the 2019 video that Corbell, an investigative journalist and leading civilian voice about UFOs, released in 2021.
How the object was able to move that fast and seemingly vanish remains a mystery.
UFO WHISTLEBLOWER TESTIFIES HIS LIFE WAS THREATENED OVER SECRET ALIEN TEACH RETRIEVAL
The DoD created the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) tasked with getting answers, but the AARO's reports have concluded there's no verifiable evidence of extraterrestrial life.
Experts have criticized the reports as "underwhelming" and directly conflict with former intelligence officer David Grusch's testimony in front of the House Oversight Committee national subcommittee hearing in July 2023.
READ TIM GALLAUDET'S FULL REPORT
Grusch testified that he had knowledge of secret government-run crashed-UFO-retrieval program to reverse-engineer the technology.
He also said the government "absolutely" has UFO tech and "biologics" of "non-human origins" since the 1930s and knows the exact locations where they're being held.
RUSSIAN UFO ENGAGEMENTS, SECRET ‘TIC TAC’ REPORT AND 3 KEY FIGURES SLIP UNDER RADAR AT CONGRESSIONAL HEARING
"The underwhelming document, which lacked any NASA data, appeared to be a perfunctory appeasement of congressional concerns regarding UAP," Gallaudet wrote, referring to AARO's most recent report.
Going back to focusing on underwater UFOs, Gallaudet said there's been legislative acknowledgment of their potential existence but "the literature on this subject is sparse and unsystematic."
WATCH HIGHLIGHTS OF DAVID GRUSCH'S CONGRESSIONAL TESTIMONY
"There are only a handful of books and scattered accounts by largely nonprofessional researchers, in contrast with the hundreds, perhaps thousands, of books published about UAP sightings in the sky," Gallaudet wrote.
He lists a handful of sources that describe "luminous orbs, silver and gray discs, and triangular and cigar-shaped objects with various lighting configuration …. (and) their movement seems to defy known physical laws."
UFO ‘HOTSPOTS’ MAP REVEALS CLUSTER OF SIGHTINGS LINKED TO ATOM BOMBS, WAR ZONES
Gallaudet called on the U.S. government, academics, philanthropies and the private sector to invest in in-depth research about undersea UAPs.
"Sometime in the future, the government may start openly researching UAP to a greater degree than the perfunctory categorization effort underway at AARO," he wrote. "When that occurs, subsequent exploration for UAP on and under the sea will have the benefit of making new ocean science discoveries as well.
"Any hunt for USOs or supporting undersea infrastructure will almost certainly identify new marine species, geologic features, and oceanic processes."

Pictures: Plans for futuristic UFO concept yacht unveiled
- Katy Stickland
Italian water transportation company, Jet Capsule has released pictures of its latest concept - a two storey floating house/yacht called UFO.
The UFO, which stands for unidentified floating object, is environmentally friendly and entirely self-sufficient, according to the designers at Jet Capsule. It can be powered either via the sun, wind or waves.
The company, which is based at the Port of Naples, Italy, is currently looking for investors to develop a working UFO prototype. The vessel is made up of two shells, each with an interior measuring 2.2 metres high. The two-storey floating house/yacht has a disc-shaped outer deck which measures 12.5 metres in diametre.
See photos of the UFO below
Inside, there is a living room and kitchen area on the main level. A ladder connects to the sub-level which features a bathroom and an underwater viewing area. Pictures of the design were released on the company’s Facebook page recently.
This is not the first futuristic watercraft coming from the company. One of its directors, Pierpaolo Lazzarini, who is in change of design and product development, has previously launched the Jet Capsule.
This “mini yacht” prototype was unveiled in 2013, before a smaller, faster version, called the Reptile, was launched in early 2015.
Lazzarini wanted to create a boat that was spacious enough for an evening’s entertainment but small enough to handle easily.
He developed his project with the CEO of S3, Luca Solla, eventually forming the Jet Capsule company in 2011.
Powered by a 325hp Yanmar diesel engine and a Hamilton waterjet, the original Jet Capsule had a maximum speed of 25 knots. It can seat four people inside, and has a self-draining interior cockpit.
A 2016 version of the Jet Capsule has since been launched with room for up to 12 passengers and one pilot. It is 7.6 metres long, 3.5 metres wide and 2.3 metres tall. It has a cruising speed of 32 knots and costs US$150,000.

Former Naval Officer Raises Alarm About “World-Changing” Underwater UFO Captured on Video
So-called "unidentified submerged objects" could pose as large a threat as ufos, the former admiral argues..
A report about a strange craft that appeared to defy both aerial and aquatic physics is apparently making a splash among the ex-military set.
Tim Gallaudet, an oceanographer and former Naval rear admiral who served as the author of a March white paper about so-called "unidentified submerged objects" or USOs, told Fox News this week that he considers it both "scientifically valid" and critical to national security to study these phenomena.
Released by the newly-convened Sol Foundation , a think tank dedicated to studying what the military calls "unidentified anomalous phenomena" (UAPs), the 29-page report centers on a 2019 video taken aboard the Omaha off the coast of San Diego.
The video, which was leaked to filmmaker Jeremy Corbell and verified by the Pentagon as a legit instance of Naval-recorded UAP in 2021, raises more questions than it answers — and in both his interview and the Sol Foundation report, Gallaudet suggests that the strange craft should be treated as a threat.
"Pilots, credible observers, and calibrated military instrumentation have recorded objects accelerating at rates and crossing the air-sea interface in ways not possible for anything made by humans," Gallaudet wrote in the think tank's first report.
July 2019: The USS Omaha filmed a UFO #UAP pic.twitter.com/vb0oC10vKR — Dagnum P.I. (@Dagnum_PI) May 6, 2023
While nobody can explain what exactly is going on in the USS Omaha video, the capabilities of the craft it documented could jeopardize American maritime security, Gallaudet told Fox , "which is already weakened by our relative ignorance about the global ocean."
"The fact that unidentified objects with unexplainable characteristics are entering US water space and the [Department of Defense] is not raising a giant red flag is a sign that the government is not sharing all it knows about all-domain anomalous phenomena," the former Naval officer continued, perhaps referencing the Pentagon's UAP-hunting All-domain Anomalous Resolution Office (AARO).
While UFOs generally get most of the attention — be it from the government , academia , or c onspiracy theorists — Gallaudet and others consider USOs to be equally threatening as their flying counterparts, if not more so.
Scot Christenson, the director of the US Naval Institute, wrote in a 2022 editorial for Naval History Magazine that although there has to date been "no documented damage to a plane caused by a UFO," mysterious sea creatures and other USOs "have presented the Navy with the greatest hazard."
While there's a wide gap between little green men and the storied krakens of the deep, the military's main priority when it comes to unidentified objects or creatures in the air or in the sea is safety — and if there's video footage out there of "world-changing" crafts, as Gallaudet put it in his report, that's definitely something that's going to concern the Pentagon .
"To meet the security and scientific challenges," he continued in the Sol Foundation report, "transmedium UAP and USOs should be elevated to national ocean research priorities."

Ulysse Nardin’s Latest Marine Chronometer is Essential for any Superyacht Owner
Posted August 21, 2021 in Watches & Jewelry by Morgan Crowe
Many of the top Swiss watchmaking houses produce elaborate large-format limited edition timekeepers to flex their horological muscle and design elan. But in the case of Ulysse Nardin’s fascinating UFO objet d’art, created to celebrate the brand’s 175th anniversary, the practice is particularly apt and fitting. In the 19th century – the golden age of maritime trade and military – on-board marine chronometers were essential for accurate navigation.
From its inception, Ulysse Nardin has been crafting impeccable award-winning marine chronometers that have kept more than 50 admiralties afloat as well as an untold number of merchant vessels, global-mapping explorations and scientific expeditions. These timepieces constitute the beating heart of the brand itself and their latest timepiece, the UFO, consummates all of the watchmaker’s expertise, heritage and artistic capabilities into one single object.
Housing 675 intricate components, 365 days of power reserve and a representation of the spot-on time in three time zones, it forms a vision of what the artisans and craftsmen at the watchmaker predict a mechanical marine chronometer will be in another 175 years; all while being a hyper-accurate timekeeper with extraordinary visual appeal you can use on your own yacht, today. “This unidentified floating object is truly a UFO in the watch world,” says Francois-Xavier Hotier, President of Ulysse Nardin Americas. “As we are celebrating the 175-year anniversary of our manufacture, the UFO pays tribute to Ulysse Nardin’s historical marine chronometers with a futuristic reinterpretation of our heritage. It is a rare and extraordinary timepiece for those who love the sea and have a passion for navigation.”
Each UFO is wrought in lightweight aluminum (along with some cutting-edge tungsten and classic brass materials) and encased in a buoy-shaped bubble of hand-blown 3mm-thick artisan glass. While the wooden-boxed marine chronometers of the past had to compensate for the rocking motion of a sea vessel, the UFO is actually designed to rock gently back and forth, putting the power of the ocean waves to work. Your time-telling on board will not only be accurate, it will be a kinetic-art event.
Limited to only 75 pieces, ulysse-nardin.com
