Custom made lead fin keel. GRP deck with Balsa core (repainted 2009). Spade rudder with tiller steering. Hull taken back to original epoxy in 2003 and given additional VC tar epoxy coating as a preventative measure.

Berths for 8. 2 aft double cabins, 2 singles in the saloon with lee cloths, and 2 pipecots in the forepeak. Webasto diesel powered heating. Cushions reupholstered in 2009.

The Val 35 is a fast, light displacement, racing yacht with a basic but comfortable interior. She benefits from two double aft cabins which extends the options for cruising with friends or family. Her owner reports that she has a good racing history, and that she is powerful to windward, whilst remaining fast and stable downwind. Her current IRC handicap is 1.013. She can be sailed short handed or with a full crew, and makes a good value club racer or a fast and capable passage cruiser. The engine was replaced with a reconditioned unit in 2009 and she was rewired at the same time.
