The new home for Brighton Marina Yacht Club (BMYC) was towed into its mooring position following an eight-hour journey from one side of the marina to the other on 30 July.
It is now being fitted out ready to open for members and guests in September, when BMYC is also running a new series of its Club Class introduction to yacht racing sessions.
BMYC had to leave its current premises as redevelopment of the marina accelerates.
Its new home is the result of collaboration between Brunswick Developments (who, as part of the new 850 apartment, Outer Harbour Marina Development, funded the construction and provided the building for the yacht club), Intermarine (who have engineered and built the new clubhouse and its innovative floating platform) and Premier Marinas (who have provided its permanent mooring adjacent the Marina boardwalk).

BMYC Commodore Phil Thomas said: ‘Hot on the heels of the opening Americas Cup weekend, interest in sailing is on a high and we’re her to help anyone who wants to get on the water to do so affordably.
‘Brunswick Developments commitment to bringing this fabulous building to life is commendable, and Intermarine has pulled out all the stops to make it happen technically.’

The club is known for organising yacht races throughout the year. Races take place every Sunday, as well as Wednesday evenings in the Summer. In addition to racing, BMYC also offers regular sail cruising programmes and a variety of lively social events.
Visiting boat people are warmly welcomed at BMYC. The club boasts a comfortable and relaxed bar, where members and visitors can enjoy a meal and a drink while taking in the stunning waterside views.

The event also saw the presentation of new perpetual trophies for cruising, including the Cruiser of the Year awards in the Sail and Motor categories.
Another recent highlight was the Autumn Regatta, which took place over a weekend in September.
