Welcome to the Nedlands Yacht Club, where our aim is to make your wedding the most memorable and exquisite experience you can possibly have.  NYC Events endorses a flexible approach, which allows for each event to be tailored to your specific needs. There are numerous set-up styles for the inside venue including an optional dance-floor and large screen. Our own furniture is available for your use free of charge or you can use one of many recommended suppliers to achieve a variety of presentations and styles. We have ample free parking available onsite and our indoor area is fully air conditioned for your comfort. Nedlands Yacht Club is located just a few kms from Perth's CBD and is situated on the stunning Swan River. With scenic views of both the river and city skyline, NYC is the perfect location for any event. NYC Events caters for a variety of occasions, aiming to provide a memorable event tailored to your wishes. All beverages are required to be purchased through the Club however you are more than welcome to arrange your own catering. 

We certainly do!!! We have lots of couples have their fur babies included in their ceremony and then they are usually chauffered home so they don't frolick in the water all evening.

We only host ceremonies for couples who are enjoying their wedding reception with NYC. This gives our couples the exclusivity of their ceremony among our lush foreshore and beautiful city views.

As father of the groom I agreed to pay for the cost of an open bar at rate of $30/person for 150

The number of people has now decreased to 115- what should I do ?

It all depends on what you can comfortably afford. You didn't agree to the dollar to contirbute a  dollar amount you agreed to a spend per person so if the numbers have decreased so does your contribution. Unless you can still comfortably afford the $4500. Hope that helps.

Nedlands Yacht Club has a perfect secluded location on the Swan River for holding both large and small private functions.

It's an ideal wedding reception venue for hire with modern facilities, a picturesque outlook and plenty of scope to create your own unique event. Create your own oasis on the Swan River with previous clients opting for marquees, festoon lighting, dancing under the stars and unique furniture to create their own area on the lush lawns of NYC. With our beautiful sunsets, it is the perfect way to spend a warm Perth night with friends and family.

Nedlands Yacht Club is also regularly hosting seminars, workshops and team building days from both the corporate and government sectors and is only 7 minutes’ drive from the Perth CBD!

So, you have been thrown the excellent task of planning this year’s Christmas Party? Great! We have just launched our brand new POP UP Christmas Venue for this festive season and Nedlands Yacht Club is exactly where you need to go!

Nedlands Yacht Club can cater for any size from small office parties of 30 to large corporations of 500-1500 guests. Catering for smaller Christmas celebrations that are still able to enjoy the excellent event experience NYC offers in our Pop Up Christmas venue space. It is designed for those companies who require a smaller function space, for 30- 70 guests, to celebrate the end of another successful year on our lush foreshore and under the stars enjoying the views of the swan river and city skyline, whilst still in an intimate setting. This option allows you the freedom to work with a blank canvas and create exactly what you have envisioned as the choice of all catering, decorating and styling is still up to you. We will supply the festoon lighting to enhance the experience for you and your guests, and have packages to help deck out the rest of the space!

Nedlands Yacht Club offers self-catering or package options and has ample parking. Our renovated function room has state of the art sound and visual systems, air conditioning, fully functioning bar, large veranda area and some of the most beautiful views in all of Perth. HMAS Perth Regatta 2024

Event information.

The annual HMAS Perth Memorial Regatta hosted by Nedlands Yacht Club commemorates the loss of the HMAS Perth during the ferocious Battle of Sunda Strait on 1 March 1942. When the HMAS Perth sank there were 681 Australian Servicemen aboard. 352 Australian servicemen perished along with Captain Hector Waller, DSO, RAN. The rest became POW. 218 survived to return home to Australia after the war.

The regatta is an open invitational yardstick regatta for off-the-beach dinghies and catamarans, keelboats, trailable cruisers, sportsboats and multihulls. Racing is divided into 6 divisions based on class performance.

Jacinta has been with NYC for 3 years and in that time has helped put together a number of weddings and create a flawless evening for our couples to remember. One of my favourite aspects of NYC is when couples and their guests enjoy their dinner on the veranda on a balmy evening, watching the sunset before all the formalities conclude and then heading out onto the foreshore to dance the night away under the stars! I am highly organised, and have been referred to as Monica from Friends! In my office, I love highlighters and post-it notes in my organised chaos as I assist in planning all of our couples weddings.

Exclusive and well-appointed, Nedlands Yacht Club was opened as a sail boat-only Yacht Club, and it is only in the past four years that the venue has become more focused on events, to share its pristine foreshore and city views.

In this time, Nedlands Yacht Club has hosted many special events, predominately weddings, and private and corporate events. The venue took up the Clubs WA Award in 2015 for excellence in the Medium Function Facility category- a proud achievement for its staff and members.

The club's flexible DIY approach allows clients to make an event truly their own, and arrange their own stylists, suppliers, or even their own caterer to reflect their function requirements.

For this reason, the facilities are utilised by many, including hosts organising multicultural weddings, planning an event that is sensitive to specific dietary requirements, or looking for a venue that allows casual food trucks as a point of difference.

Brides and grooms planning their wedding can also seek assistance from Nedlands Yacht Club's wedding-day coordinator, to take away the stresses of having family and friends arrange and style the wedding on the day.

Where | Just 10 minutes from the city, on the grassy foreshore of the Swan River. Numbers | The clubhouse's indoor space and verandah can seat 180 or hold 300 cocktail-style. Seminar set-ups inside the clubhouse can cater for up to 100 guests on round tables set open face. For larger events, up to 1300 guests can be catered to, using all of the venue and foreshore. Food | Self-catering is offered, or alternatively Nedlands Yacht Club has catering packages available for all events. Drink | The venue has two packages available – a standard and a premium package – or a bar tab is available by consumption. The beverage selection has a simple but broad range on offer to suit everyone, and additional beverages can be purchased on request.

2. Nedlands Yacht Club

3. Perth Flying Squadron Yacht Club

Dalkeith marina.

Located in Dalkeith in front of the Marina, Perth Flying Squadron Yacht Club offers both an indoor ballroom and the flexible Lawn area for outdoor events.

The Mele Bill Ballroom includes an open dance floor, a balcony and beautiful panoramic views of the Marina. Accommodating up to 100 guests seated and 300 standing, it’s a popular choice for weddings, corporate and private celebrations.

The Lawn area is perfect for events in the warmer months and affords plenty of space and flexibility for whatever theme or style of event you have planned. Host up to 130 guests seated or up to 600 cocktail.

4. Mosman Park Golf Club

Elevated views from fremantle to perth.

As if the spectacular waterfront views of the Swan River weren’t enough, Mosman Park Golf Club takes it a step further offering elevated 180-degree views from Fremantle to Perth from its gorgeous Chidley Point location above the river.

The Chidley Room at Mosman Park Golf Club will easily host from 30 to 150 guests celebrating anything from a wedding and a birthday to business seminars and smart corporate events.

5. Swan River Rowing Club in Mount Pleasant

Waterfront functions on the swan river.

Floor-to-ceiling windows that open to a spacious balcony are an absolute must for the full enjoyment of any waterfront event. Swan River Rowing Club is a great example. While the space will be suitable for smaller events between 80-130 people, it still packs a punch thanks to its spectacular location.

Located right next to Canning Bridge in Mount Pleasant, the venue enjoys a convenient location with 5-star views.

6. Bib and Tucker

North fremantle beachside venue.

Presenting a watercolour view of the coastline is exactly how Bib & Tucker is admired – keeping the conversation of your guests circulating and inspired.

Bib & Tucker a variety of options including celebrations on the west facing terrace for up to 40 seated or 60 standing. They also specialise in long table feasts on their north facing balcony (up to 30 guests) and for larger events and weddings, you can take over the entire venue with a total seated capacity of 120 or 150 cocktail style.

7. Royal Perth Yacht Club in Crawley

Remarkable attention to detail and a commitment to excellence is at the very core of the Royal Perth Yacht Club located in Crawley, which offers various event spaces for private and business occasions. The smart indoor function rooms combined with the impressive lawn area create a 5-star atmosphere on the tranquil shores of the Swan River and Perth city skyline in the background.

Each of the rooms individually can accommodate up to 180 guests yet when combined, the perfect cocktail event for up to 400 guests can be put together.

8. The Bell Tower

As well as being an iconic Perth landmark, The Bell Tower is popular for corporate functions, small weddings, cocktail parties, birthdays and events. It’s also one of the few venues which allow you to bring in your own food, beverages and caterers.

With a maximum capacity of 40 seated and 90 standing, the Bell Tower offers a spectacular setting with majestic Swan River views from the Level 6 Observation Deck. The venue also boasts manicured lawns, scenic gardens and picturesque fountains.

PERTH FLYING SQUADRON YACHT CLUB

Formed in 1897, the Squadron overlooks the widest stretch of the river, which is a major venue for competitive yachting, power boating and water sports. Full advantage is taken of the excellent sailing waters with a year round program of events provided for sailors of all abilities offering keen competition and the chance to win a trophy or two. A group of power boat enthusiasts also call PFSYC home and enjoy an active cruising calendar. The Club provides pen, hard standing and undercover storage for every class of boat at very competitive rates. A family Club, with a thriving junior membership, the next generation of sailors are trained in our sailing school. An active social calendar and the wonderful Clubhouse facilities make the Squadron an easy place to relax. Delicious meals accompanied by a selection of fine wines and beer may be enjoyed in the clubhouse, while a dedicated hospitality team can look after all the arrangements for your next special occasion. PFSYC is a spectacular setting for functions; weddings, birthdays, conferences and corporate events - all regularly hosted with great success. ABOUT OUR VENUE

Nedlands Yacht Club is the perfect location for your next function. Whether you are looking for a birthday party venue, engagement party venue, Christmas party venue, wake or memorial service venue (see below), christening or general celebration, we have a versatile blank canvas to host your event. Our space has been fitted with easy to use audio and visual systems, furnishings and bar facilities to ensure every function is a success!

As one of the top Perth function venues to host events we can assist you in all that you need. We are very much a DIY venue which enables you to create and style the space to suit your needs and plans. Nedlands Yacht Club is also a waterfront venue that you can utilise as much as you like. We often host engagement parties, milestone birthday celebrations and corporate end-of-year functions along our foreshore under the stars where guests absolutely enjoy a wonderful evening. For the colder months we have a wonderful blank canvas Clubhouse that gets the party cranking too.

Wakes and Memorial Services

Firstly, we are so sorry to hear of your loss. Our events team at Nedlands Yacht Club want to assist in making this process easier and have quick and easy options for your convenience. Please note our Events Manager is only in the office Tuesday – Saturday so any enquiries on Mondays please contact the office on (08) 9386 5496 for a prompt reply and for availability as we know plans need to be made quickly.

We have the venue capacity to fit up to 180 guests seated theatre style with overflow possible for those services that require it, or for services afterwards, we can fit 200 guests cocktail style. Our events team can look after the catering, staffing, bar and set up whilst you focus on more important aspects to make this day an easier transition for you.
