The RVMYC Members Bar, Dining Room & Terrace

Perched on the water’s edge in Williamstown, our club has expansive views of the Melbourne skyline.

Enjoy a meal in our dining room or outdoor terrace, or sit back and relax with a drink in the clubhouse bar and then explore the historical port of Williamstown.

The Members’ Bar on the first floor is open to club members, guests and kindred club members. The bar is open on Wednesday and Friday evenings from 5pm, and Saturday and Sunday from midday.

Our clubhouse pays homage to maritime style, referencing its unique heritage. Large open plan balconies have expansive views of the water and what is undoubtedly the best view of the Melbourne cityscape.

RVMYC offers a social experience second to none for members and guests, to enjoy dining in a relaxed atmosphere and in convivial surroundings near the water’s edge.

The RVMYC welcomes new visitors to the Club. For those non-members wishing to dine at the RVMYC, we offer a Temporary Membership at a low $79. This entitles Temporary Members use of the Clubhouse for a period of 30 days. Take advantage of this great offer by contacting the club on 9393 2888 or email [email protected] .

General Hours of Operation:

Bistro Wed, Fri, * Sat: Dinner from 6pm,Sat & Sun: Lunch from 12pm.  Bar Wed & Fri from 5pm, Sat & Sun from 12pm.

* If no bookings are received for dinner prior to 6pm, the bistro will not be in operation. No walk-ins will be accepted.

Royal Yacht Club of Victoria (RYCV or Royals) is one of the pre-eminent yacht clubs in Victoria with over 165 years of history and tradition. Today, the Club provides modern boating facilities and hospitality services for its Members and the wider community. 

The warm and friendly atmosphere makes Royals a stunning and unique function venue for all occasions for both Members and non-members alike. With stunning views back to the city, our clubhouse is the perfect location for any event including birthdays, weddings and conferences, engagements, community fundraisers, celebrations of life, baby showers, christenings, Christmas parties and more!

We offer customisable packages to suit all of your individual needs to make your event extra special. All our functions have a duration of four hours, longer durations are possible but will incur an additional fee. Due to our busy sailing calendar, we are usually unable to accommodate functions before 7.30pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

Our lawn is the perfect space for your wedding ceremony. Ceremony only package includes signing table, white linen and 2 chairs.

Meetings, Conferences & Seminars

RYCV helps create the right atmosphere for important business meetings, half or full day conferences or product launches. Our clubhouse at Royals is a versatile building offering a number of choices for your business clientele.

Our main dining area and function room will seat up to 150 people. The room provides access to the deck and lawn areas for breaks or team building exercises. The board room and library are available for smaller groups of various sizes. We can also provide secure off street parking for all guests, yacht charter and wireless internet. A range of audio-visual equipment such as a data projector, television and roving microphone can also be supplied for an additional charge.

At the Yacht Club de Monaco the inauguration ceremony of the first Explorer Dock took place, as part of the activities planned for the Ocean Week and under the aegis of the collective ‘Monaco, Capital of Advanced Yachting’ approach. The seven yachts displayed on the quay of the Club, M/Y Beyond Capricorn, M/Y Prometej, M/Y Audace, M/Y King Benji, S/Y NDS Evolution, M/Y U Boat Navigator and M/Y Santandrea, represent the combination of passion for adventure and innovation. Each one is designed to navigate beyond traditional boundaries and face the challenges of the oceans.

Capturing everyone’s attention on the quay was the christening of the brand new M/Y King Benji. Attending the event dedicated to the 46 meters megayacht, built by Dunya Yachts and designed by Greg Marshall, there were many guests alongside with the Yacht Club de Monaco General Secretary Bernard d’Alessandri.

“I am very humbled and proud to be here because it took years to build this yacht. It requires a lot of passion, dedication and team work with Greg Marshall and other designers. And finally she’s here and we’re proud of it,” said Sedat Ergun owner of Dunya Yachts. “We’re thriving to be a custom builder, we’re building many different yachts. Everyone’s different from each other. We love exploration. So when the client came to us, we loved it and we got on well since day one. It actually is a funny story because he came in as a crew member so we didn’t know he was the client. We talked about it and I said ‘we love the project’ and I think he felt the passion about it,” he added. Everything started from a sketch. “I flew to a meeting with the owner and he described what he was looking for and why he couldn’t buy it anywhere in the world. So I pulled out a piece of paper and just started drawing and in the first minutes he said ‘that’s it.’”

“We adjusted the sketches and it was just what you see here and it never happens. The boat is what I’d design for myself. We had a full-sized mock up build of the boat so we could walk through it 4-5 years ago. And now to see it here surrounded by the Yacht Club it just makes your skin tingle,” said Greg Marshall. From the famous naval architect pencil also came out the M/Y Artefact, that won the YCM Explorer Award in 2022.

Meanwhile everything’s ready for the Environmental Symposium. A day of conference for the industry, owners & captains, taking place on Thursday the 20th of March, organised in collaboration with The Explorer’s Club of New York. A large delegation from the US is visiting the Club and taking part not only in all the ‘explorer’ activities on the quay but also in regattas, sailing experiences involving for example the YCM flagship Tuiga. In the afternoon it will be time for the Explorer Awards by La Belle Classe Superyachts. The aim is to recognise owners who take their environmental responsibilities seriously. The major criteria for these awards are the owner’s conception of their superyacht, how they use it and what it can do for humanity. It could be a technical innovation that significantly reduces the yacht’s CO2 emissions, the assistance given to scientists, or just an ability to pass on and share adventures at sea so that many more people come to respect, love and protect the Ocean.

On Thursday and Friday the Monaco Smart Yacht Rendezvous also will be on. Organised in partnership with the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and YCM, it is a natural extension of the Monaco Smart & Sustainable Marina Rendezvous.
