Captain Glenn and the crew of the Parsifal III are back for another season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht . This time the yacht is setting sail in lovely Sardinia, Italy, and even though it's a beautiful location, don't expect calm seas. This season, anything can happen.

As the original Below Deck franchise wraps up its tenth season, Below Deck Sailing Yacht cruises into season 4 with the promise of picturesque landscapes and thrilling adventures, but the trailer hints at some trouble on board, and not just with the crew. Although, it looks like the Parsifal III has some challenges this season that puts Captain Glenn and the crew through their paces.

Here's everything we know about Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 episode 4: "Lazy Daisy" "Capt. Glenn remains committed to improving the guest experience by insisting a stew go on all excursions. Daisy is frustrated after learning she’s a stew down while the deck team goofed off on the eFoils. Chef Ileisha’s perfectionism is thrown off when she faces her greatest fear in the galley and enlists Colin’s help. Gary claims his territory as First Mate both with the ladies and on deck as he sets his eyes on Mads knowing his deckhands are interested in the same girl."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 episode 5: "Hate Me Tender" "Daisy is overwhelmed with the high-maintenance guests and struggles to ask for help, so a request from Gary sends her over the edge; when a guest injury occurs on the water toys, Capt. Glenn goes into high alert."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 episode 6: "Clash & Burn" "In an effort to turn the charter around, Capt. Glenn takes the guests on an epic sail. Lucy makes a grave mistake to a charter guest’s garment. After Chef Ileisha continues to leave the guests waiting too long between courses, Capt. Glenn gives her honest feedback in the tip meeting that pushes Daisy's defensive buttons. Colin defends Capt. Glenn’s comments as feedback and not critique, which only heightens Daisy’s frustrations."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 episode 7: "Smoke on the Water" "Another engine issue emerges, forcing Capt. Glenn to modify the plan and keep the returning guests entertained. With all the uncertainty going on in the engine room, Capt. Glenn takes control and points out the crews’ mistakes. Daisy and Colin make up after their fight as their relationship grows stronger. Daisy confronts Gary about Mads and claims he’s playing his usual games. Tired of the drama, Chase plans a night of drunk Twister and hosts a surprising yoga session. "

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 episode 8: "Cheers to Boobies" "After Chase confides in Gary about Alex’s lackluster work ethic, Chase’s trust is broken when Gary tells Alex about their conversation. The crew pull off talent show #2 for the returning guests and surprise themselves with their interesting skills. Chase has a little too much to drink, and he upsets some of the crew, pushing Lucy to lose it and her chair at dinner. Daisy and Colin get closer than ever as they share an unexpected kiss."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 episode 9: "Love Boat" "Glenn dresses up for the guests' theme night; he hopes his participation helps correct a jewelry theft hiccup and is on top of his crew to make sure the women have the best trip of their lives."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 episode 10: "Loose Lips Sink Friendships" "The crew has the day off, and even Capt. Glenn recharges by enjoying Parsifal III all to himself and riding the eFoil; Colin saves the day clearing the clogged toilets, but he gets jammed up when his honest opinion strikes a chord."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 episode 11: "Let Them Eat Cake" "Capt. Glenn notices the standards are slipping on Parsifal lll as the crew is exhausted with the mid-season blues. Distraught that Colin and Gary aren’t speaking, Daisy takes initiative and forces them to hash out their problems. Gary’s confusing behavior has Mads confessing her feelings to Alex. Colin tries to forgive Daisy’s discretions, but she adds insult to injury after she drunkenly confuses him for Gary. On charter, after anchoring in their first destination, Parsifal lll nearly drags into a neighboring boat."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 episode 12: "T-Bone with Stakes" "Capt. Glenn notices the crew is slipping on service when a guest is injured, and interior doesn’t hear the walkie call forcing Capt. Glenn to up the guest maintenance standards onboard. After Alex and Mads confess their feelings from the start, Mads is torn between Alex and Gary. Shaken after a close T-Bone with a nearby boat, Gary is confused when his advances to Mads aren’t being reciprocated."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 episode 13: "Hurricane Bonnie" "Captain Glenn reprimands the crew as recent slip-ups are directly affecting communication and morale; Daisy breaks down when she's proven wrong about the walkies not working; Chef Ileisha is determined to prove she can complete a 10-course dinner."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 episode 14: "Boat Load of Throuples" "Capt. Glenn threatens to kick one of the 'throuple' charter guests off Parsifal during a drunken guest fight. Mads receives a wake-up call that prompts her to dismiss Gary’s apology attempt and more seriously consider Alex leaving Gary with a stomach full of regret. Unhappy with Gary, Alex and Colin decide to follow their hearts instead."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 episode 15: "Man Buns Has it Been Fun": "Proud of his team’s accomplishments during the final sail, Capt. Glenn believes his tough love made them all stronger. The crew celebrates their final night out and Daisy and Colin try to soak up every moment of it. Following tearless goodbyes, Capt. Glenn and Gary stay onboard Parsifal to pick up another charter season."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 cast

Captain Glenn will be joined once again by Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher, first mate Gary King and engineer Colin MacRae.

New to the series are chef Ileisha Dell, stews Lucy Edmunds and Mads Herrera and deckhands Chase Lemacks and Alex Propson.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 plot

Bravo offered this synopsis of Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 and it gives you a good sense of what's coming in the new season:

"Capt. Glenn and his comeback team Daisy Kelliher, Gary King and Colin MacRae resume their responsibilities aboard Parsifal III, along with new, dynamic crew members, as they set sail in Sardinia, Italy. Capt. Glenn realizes that his laid-back leadership style has allowed his crew to become too comfortable and starts taking charge of quality control in the interior department, much to Daisy's dismay.

"In the galley, Chef Ileisha’s cooking impresses the guests, but her indecisiveness and co-dependency lead to time-management issues between courses, which causes her to self-destruct. On deck, strong personalities collide, and a power struggle results in a near mutiny, as Gary clashes with his new overconfident deckhand, Chase.

"Two overlapping love triangles further complicate the dynamics on-board, and a shocking hookup puts Colin, Daisy and Gary’s friendship in jeopardy. With a near collision, fire, crew rebellion, gruesome guest injury and two different potentially season-ending engine failures, this is the most captivating and unpredictable season yet of Below Deck Sailing Yacht ."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Is The Office ‘s Unscripted Sister — Here’s Why

When I found myself tuning in to yet another season of another franchise of Below Deck , I had to wonder: Why am I so obsessed with watching people do their jobs, and badly at that?

All roads lead to The Office .

Bravo ‘s Below Deck Sailing Yacht,  which is currently airing Season 4 on Mondays at 8 pm, is simply The Office, if it were unscripted and on speed. It contains all the pillars of the successful workplace comedy: An inappropriate leader who makes off-color jokes (sorry, Captain Glenn, but it’s true); a never-ending assortment of unbelievable HR violations (when you live and work in the same place, things get muddy, fast !); awkward people performing their jobs poorly (there’s always a stew who simply doesn’t understand the hierarchy); and, of course, a couple of token sensible people (Daisy and Glenn are the boat’s Jim and Pam, minus the romance).

With all of that, plus incredibly high stakes as real money is being made, real clients are being served, and real pots of chili are being dropped thanks to unexpected swells, it’s just another iteration of everyone’s favorite NBC comedy!

But Below Deck even goes a step further: It uses the workplace comedy genre as a blueprint, before completely transforming it. Here, the actual workplace is not only a container for comedy; the workplace is the comedy, as the space inhabited by the cast becomes a character itself.

'The Office' and 'Below Deck Sailing Yacht'

Another layer? These employees never get to go home. Though we don’t often see The Office characters outside of Dunder Mifflin/related events, we know they are not trapped in the workplace. They theoretically have lives beyond our screens that add texture to their characters. On Below Deck , however, employees are constantly on the clock, sleeping in tight quarters and receiving wake-up calls from engine alarms or radio commands at any given moment. (Imagine getting a season-long slumber party between Michael and Dwight. What kind of storylines could have been invented if the two were forced to sleep on top of the printers after each day’s end? Whatever you’re picturing, know that’s what Below Deck promises and delivers season after season.)

So, if you liked The Office , it’s time to give its unofficial unscripted sister a watch.

How do you think Below Deck compares to your favorite workplace comedy? Let us know in the comments!

You should send this review to the WGA. I’m sure they’ll love to hear all the hard work put forth by their writers can be equaled by reality garbage.

So far the crew are doing great considering the ship can’t sail & the first group of people had an actual Karen on board.

I have watched all seasons of every Below Deck. Season 4 Below Deck Sailing Yacht is the most uninteresting season of all. The crew has been childish and they act unprofessional. The episodes are boring. Gary and Daisy and Colin act juvenile. You just may have run your course on the Sailing Yacht if these crew members return. Every other Below Deck held my attention and was fun. This season 4 I turn off halfway through. Sorry but any cache the show has had in the past has dissolved.

Somebody needs to kick the living sh– out of Gary.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 2 Cast: Where Are They Now?

Here's what happened to Daisy, Colin, Captain Glenn and the rest of the Parsifal crew.

preview for Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 2 trailer (Bravo)

Considering the series filmed in August 2020, viewers are curious about the whereabouts of our Sailing Yacht favorites...and, more importantly, how the cast and crew managed to film for several weeks amid lockdown. As it turns out, the location of this season was chosen intentionally. At that time, Croatia remained one of few countries in the EU to accept American tourists. In a Reddit AMA , a producer for the show also explained that maintaining safety protocols (which likely included regular Covid testing) was key in filming this season.

Here's what happened to your favorite crew members from Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 2:

Colin Macrae

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured colin macrae photo by laurent bassetbravonbcu photo bank via getty images

Colin Macrae might serve as the Chief Engineer aboard the Parsifal III, however, when it comes to the inner workings of his relationship, things aren’t as black and white. Despite gushing over his relationship with Martina Alvarez last summer, Macrae revealed that he and Martina have officially parted ways. “Unfortunately my relationship with Martina came to an end a couple of months ago,” Colin captioned his most recent YouTube video . Although his romance is no more, Colin remains optimistic for what’s to come as he embarks on a “fresh start” in none other than Panama. Colin has also continued his efforts in creating content online documenting his many adventures in Linton Bay, Panama , where he’s resided over the course of the last few months.

Glenn Shephard

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured captain glenn shephard photo by laurent bassetbravonbcu photo bank via getty images

Captain Glenn Shephard is back and better than ever! The sailboat captain may only have 2 seasons of Below Deck under his belt, but his 20 years of experience certainly make him a notable addition to the Bravo family. Since his summer in Croatia last year, Gl enn has since moved to Spain , which Shephard has deemed his new “happy place.” While becoming a Bravo-lebrity can go to one’s head, Glenn has remained modest when it comes to his newfound fame. The star now offers Zoom sessions with fans of the show, where he dishes on behind-the-scenes details all while sipping cocktails on the Spanish coast.

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured gary king photo by laurent bassetbravonbcu photo bank via getty images

First Officer Gary King walked away from his very first season on Below Deck Sailing Yacht feeling nothing but grateful. “Reminiscing about the last 6 weeks that have just flown by. I learned lessons that I’ll carry for life,” Gary wrote on Instagram . While fans have been rooting for him and fellow stewardess, Alli Dore to set sails on a possible romance, it appears as King has been flying solo since the series ended. After traveling about to a number of stunning locations, including Mallorca, Spain, Gary returned home to South Africa just in time for Christmas. The Bravo star has since remained in his home country, occupying himself with a series of visits to the golf range and a new passion for landscape photography and cooking.

Natasha De Bourg

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured natasha de bourg photo by laurent bassetbravonbcu photo bank via getty images

The Michelin-star chef has been tuning in this season from her home in the Bahamas, and, well, she hasn't taken to it favorably. The star has posted a series of pics on her Instagram detailing her frustrations with herself on the show, claiming that she is “human and humans are imperfect.” Luckily for Natasha, her friendship with both Dani and Alli has blossomed immensely since wrapping up, and the two have been a huge support for Natasha as she cruises through these waves of criticism.

Daisy Kelliher

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured daisy kelliher photo by laurent bassetbravonbcu photo bank via getty images

Being the Chief Stewardess on any yacht is no easy feat, and Daisy Kelliher is certainly feeling the burn. Following her time at sea in Croatia, Daisy, unfortunately, broke her wrist and found herself back home with mom and dad in Ireland . During lockdown, Daisy accepted a job in Antigua two months later, however, due to the current situation, her efforts at finding adventure fell flat. “I had completely lost myself,” Daisy captioned her photo on Instagram , revealing she began pushing friends away and entered a dark space. Luckily for the Below Deck star, she feels like herself again and is set to start a new job. During a live chat, Daisy revealed to co-star, Sydney Zaruba that she is most likely headed back to Europe, although she’s left much of what she’ll be doing a mystery.

Dani Soares

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured daniele soares photo by laurent bassetbravonbcu photo bank via getty images

Dani Soares soared to being a fan favorite this current season and we don’t see that changing anytime soon. Soares, who reigns all the way from Brazil, has gone on to make quite a name for herself since her summer in Croatia. The star currently resides in Sydney, Australia where she is expecting her very first child. Dani revealed the news on social media back in April, however, both her due date and daddy status remain unknown. Although fans have inquired who the father is, Soares made it clear that it isn’t “anybody’s business.” As she embarks on her journey towards motherhood, Dani is currently working as a beauty therapist in the land down under all while taking in her recent rise to fame.

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured alli dore photo by laurent bassetbravonbcu photo bank via getty images

Alli Dore is the third stewardess to join the hit Bravo series, and boy are we glad she did. After wrapping up her summer in Croatia, Alli returned home to Australia, where she was born and raised. Her love for boating didn’t stop when the summer did, as she went on to spend her time in the Whitsundays Islands. As for Alli’s personal life, the star made an appearance on the Unpopular podcast where she revealed that she is pansexual. [I am] “attracted to people’s aura,” she revealed. Alli has gone on to start her very own IGTV series called Pita Party , which she stars in alongside Sailing Yacht co-stars, Daisy and Dani.

Sydney Zaruba

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured sydney zaruba photo by laurent bassetbravonbcu photo bank via getty images

Sydney Zaruba found herself in quite the love triangle last summer in Croatia, but today, she is all about keeping her inner circle small. Sydney, who was born and raised in Florida, moved on over to the stunning island of Mallorca, Spain where she currently works on a 42-meter sailing yacht! This is nothing new for Sydney; considering her experience on Below Deck and, of course, her long history of sailing with her family. In addition to being at sea, Sydney decided to become a travel agent with Explorateur Travel. While the cast of Sailing Yacht has gone their separate ways since the summer ended, Sydney still managed to bump into none other than Captain Glenn on the streets of Palma.

Jean-Luc Cerza Lanaux

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured jean luc cerza lanaux photo by laurent bassetbravonbcu photo bank via getty images

Jean-Luc may be the youngest Below Deck crew member but he certainly makes up for it in height? Following his summer working on the Parsifal III, Jean-Luc traveled to Mallorca, Spain, an idea many of his co-stars had as well. Shortly after, the 25-year-old made his way on over to Costa Rica , which he’s called home for the last several months. Despite the remarkable views, Jean-Luc is entering some rocky waters as a plethora of rumors have surfaced questioning his role in Dani Soares’ pregnancy. Not only have fans been flooding his social media with questions concerning whether he’s the father or not, but fellow charter guest, Barrie Drewitt-Barlow also went on to add fuel to the fire. In an Instagram video posted back in April, Barrie claimed that Jean-Luc “was too busy getting the other one [Dani] pregnant … He’s gonna be a daddy,” he said. While Dani laughed off the comment, Jean-Luc has yet to address the rumors.

California news | prosecutors seeking restitution for families of 34 killed in conception dive boat fire.

LOS ANGELES — Prosecutors are seeking restitution for the families of 34 people killed in a scuba dive boat fire in 2019 that was the deadliest maritime disaster in recent U.S. history.

A judge will determine the amount on Thursday during a hearing in federal court in Los Angeles. The proceeding comes nearly five years after the Sept. 2, 2019, tragedy off the central California coast, which prompted changes to maritime regulations , congressional reform and several ongoing civil lawsuits.

The captain of the Conception, Jerry Boylan, was convicted last year of one count of misconduct or neglect of ship officer following a 10-day trial in federal court in downtown Los Angeles. The charge is a pre-Civil War statute colloquially known as seaman’s manslaughter that was designed to hold steamboat captains and crew responsible for maritime disasters.

He was sentenced to four years in prison and three years of supervised release . He is out on bond and must report to the Bureau of Prisons by Aug. 8. His appeal is ongoing.

Federal authorities are expected to vote Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2020 on what likely sparked a fire aboard a scuba dive boat last year that killed 34 people off the coast of Southern California. The pre-dawn blaze aboard the Conception is one of California’s deadliest maritime disasters, prompting both criminal and safety investigations into the Sept. 2, 2019 tragedy that claimed the lives of 33 passengers and one crew member on a Labor Day weekend expedition near an island off Santa Barbara. Five Conception crew members were awake and jumped into the water when flames burst out around 3:15 am. (Courtesy of Ventura County Fire Department)

The Conception was anchored off Santa Cruz Island, 25 miles south of Santa Barbara, when it caught fire before dawn on the final day of a three-day excursion, sinking less than 100 feet from shore.

Thirty-three passengers and a crew member perished, trapped in a bunkroom below deck. Among the dead were the deckhand, who had landed her dream job; an environmental scientist who did research in Antarctica; a globe-trotting couple; a Singaporean data scientist; and a family of three sisters, their father and his wife.

Boylan was the first to abandon ship and jump overboard. Four crew members who joined him also survived.

Although the exact cause of the blaze remains undetermined , prosecutors blamed Boylan for failing to post the required roving night watch and never properly trained his crew in firefighting. The lack of the roving watch meant the fire was able to spread undetected across the 75-foot boat.

But Boylan’s federal public defenders sought to pin blame on boat owner Glen Fritzler, who with his wife owns Truth Aquatics Inc., which operated the Conception and two other scuba dive boats, often around the Channel Islands.

Conception dive boat tragedy

They argued that Fritzler was responsible for failing to train the crew in firefighting and other safety measures, as well as creating a lax seafaring culture they called “the Fritzler way,” in which no captain who worked for him posted a roving watch.

The Fritzlers have not spoken publicly about the tragedy since an interview with a local TV station a few days after the fire. Their attorneys have never responded to requests for comment from The Associated Press.

Three days after the fire, Truth Aquatics filed suit under a pre-Civil War provision of maritime law that allows it to limit its liability to the value of the remains of the boat, which was a total loss. The time-tested legal maneuver has been successfully employed by the owners of the Titanic and other vessels and requires the Fritzlers to show they were not at fault.

That case is pending, as well as others filed by victims’ families against the Coast Guard for what they allege was lax enforcement of the roving watch requirement.

10 Villains Who Should Return To The Below Deck Franchise

  • Some Below Deck villains bring drama but are harmless, providing comic relief or calling out bad behavior.
  • Former franchise villains like Ashley Marti and Ben Willoughby could return for another season.
  • Despite their past actions, villains like Chef Rachel Hargrove and Lexi Wilson could offer entertainment and redemption arcs.

Below Deck has cast its fair share of villains over the years, and while some need to stay far away, others would be a welcome reintroduction. Sometimes, a villain is mostly harmless-- someone who causes drama among the crew but isn't especially problematic. A villain can provide comic relief or call other cast members out for their bad behavior. While there are cast members who have made problematic decisions, like sexual harassment, other villains deserve a second chance.

Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 is well underway, and heroes and villains are emerging in the cast. While Chef Jono Shillingford had villain vibes, he might be on a redemption arc. Additionally, Bri Muller and Elena Dubaich were embroiled in a dramatic love triangle. Nonetheless, there are many former franchise villains that Below Deck should definitely bring back for another season.

20 Best Reality TV Shows Right Now

Reality TV is more popular than ever. With so many to choose from, here are some of the best reality TV shows to stream or watch right now.

Ashley Marti

Below deck sailing yacht season 3.

Ashley Marti's journey on Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 was marked by significant controversy and plenty of drama, establishing her as a franchise villain. Her relentless pursuit of First Officer Gary King turned problematic one night when she pressured him into a hookup despite his inebriated state. This incident, coupled with her ongoing conflicts with fellow crew members, particularly Gabriela Barragan, exacerbated tensions on the yacht. Ashley created a hostile work environment , ultimately leading to Gabriela’s mid-season departure. Despite her villain status, Ashley could be brought back to shake things up. She isn’t afraid to speak out against her coworkers and brings the drama. Ashley also has loose ends to tie up since she chose not to attend the reunion. However, Ashley is now an OnlyFans star and might be done with the franchise.

Raquel Rocky Dakota

Below deck season 3.

Raquel “Rocky” Dakota quickly emerged as one of the most controversial figures in the series' history. Known for her dramatic flair and outspoken personality, Rocky often clashed with her fellow crew members, constantly stirring up drama on Eros. Her tumultuous relationship with bosun Eddie Lucas was one of the season's central storylines and significantly contributed to her villain reputation. Rocky's tendency to dismiss responsibilities, combined with her unpredictable behavior and frequent outbursts, made her a polarizing figure. Despite the villain status, Rocky was undoubtedly a compelling character . Eddie is definitely missed as one of the best bosuns in the series, but Rocky could come back as well. Perhaps she’s matured a bit and would be better without Eddie around. Unfortunately, Rocky has allegedly left the yachting industry since her time on Below Deck season 3.

Camille Lamb

Below deck season 10.

Camille Lamb caused drama, conflict, and controversy , making her one of the standout figures on Below Deck season 10. The deckhand and stew quickly clashed with her fellow crew members, including Chief Stew Fraser Olender and deckhand Alissa Humber. Her work ethic and attitude were frequently called into question, with rightful accusations of laziness. Her constant issues were often highlighted during crew meetings and guest interactions, painting Camille as a villain. Her tendency to confront others and escalate tensions contributed to her villainous reputation on the show. However, this same fiery personality and the entertainment value could be compelling arguments for her return. She appeared briefly in a FaceTime call with Bosun Ben Willoughby in season 11, and her straight-shooting personality has clearly been missed. It would be very interesting to see her dynamic with Ben and Sunny Marquis if they both return.

It would be fascinating to pair Camille onscreen with Ben again, especially given his relationship with Sunny.

Barbie Pascual

Below deck season 11.

Barbie Pascual had quite a rollercoaster ride on Below Deck season 11, and while she left after the last charter in a huff, she would be welcome as a returning character on the series. The spoiled trust fund baby was forced to work for her inheritance aboard St. David in Below Deck season 11, and while Fraser and Xandi Olivier's treatment of Barbie was often unfair, she also deserved much of the flack she received. Even in the last charter, Barbie overslept her alarm and demanded extra time to get ready.

Furthermore, Barbie's treatment of Kyle Stillie was problematic . He undoubtedly had an interest in the stew, but she was too concerned with her father's opinion to treat him respectfully. Instead of working through issues, she stormed off the yacht after the last charter, a clear sign of her lack of professionalism. However, she was endlessly entertaining and could build a redemption arc in another season.

Rachel Hargrove

Below deck seasons 8-10.

Chef Rachel Hargrove’s knife skills were as sharp as her tongue, making her a memorably villainous chef. She joined the cast in season 8 and quickly made an impression with her exceptional cooking and volatile temperament. Rachel's candidness and unfiltered comments often led to tension with crew members , contributing to her villain persona. Notably, her dramatic exit from the yacht after a foul-mouthed tirade, when presented with an extravagant preference sheet, cemented her reputation.

Chef Rachel was one of the more problematic chefs on Below Deck , but she was also entertaining.

Despite these moments, Rachel's undeniable talent in the kitchen and entertaining confessional could be a welcome addition to future seasons of Below Deck . While Chef Jono is currently on a redemption arc, Chef Rachel’s skills are definitely way better than the current chef aboard the Mustique. Additionally, Chef Nick Tatlock was a midseason hire on Below Deck season 11, and it might be more entertaining to give Chef Rachel another chance.

Ashton Pienaar

Below deck seasons 6-7.

Ashton Pienaar's time on Below Deck started strong, but his fall from grace cemented his villain status. He first appeared as a deckhand in Below Deck season 6, where he survived a near-fatal accident after being dragged into the water by a tow line. After the event, he earned the bosun position in season 7. However, his behavior took a controversial turn during season 7, cementing his reputation as a villain. His actions, including a notorious incident where Ashton aggressively confronted Chief Stew Kate Chastain , shocked the crew. Despite his contentious behavior, Ashton's return to the show could bring a compelling mix of personal improvement and drama– he could benefit from a redemption arc. Ashton is a complex person and may have done some growing up in the past few years that would make him a good cast member again.

Below Deck Mediterranean Seasons 3-4 And Below Deck Down Under Season 2

João Franco quickly established himself as a skilled deckhand with ambitions of climbing the yachting ranks in the Below Deck franchise, including time on both Below Deck Sailing Yacht and Below Deck Mediterranean . However, João didn’t escape the villain reputation. His aggressive and often condescending attitude towards fellow crew members, especially women, was frustrating and unacceptable. Notably, his volatile interactions with Hannah Ferrier and Brooke Laughton highlighted his struggle with anger management and respect for colleagues. Despite these issues, João's journey also showcased moments of personal growth and redemption. Eventually, he was promoted to bosun, and he became mature and professional. He’s a polarizing figure, but João’s presence in future seasons would be welcome. Maybe he could even replace Bosun Ian Maclean on Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 if he gets fired by Captain Sandy Yawn.

Ben Willoughby

Ben was a contentious figure in Below Deck seasons 10 and 11. While he was a decent deckhand in season 10, his focus on Camille clouded his priorities. His villain status didn't emerge until he was promoted to the bosun position in season 11. Ben proved himself to be a less-than-capable bosun after he constantly challenged Captain Kerry Titheradge's decisions and led fellow deckhand Sunny with his inconsistent romantic advances. While Ben said he wouldn't work for Captain Kerry ever again , he could return as the bosun on another franchise. Perhaps his personality would jive more with Captain Sandy, who doesn't have as much of a tendency to micromanage his crew. He grew significantly throughout season 11 and even continued to date Sunny after the show. Ben was a villain, but he deserves another chance.

Kyle Viljoen

Below deck mediterranean seasons 7-8.

Initially joining the show as a stew, Kyle Viljoen quickly became a franchise villain because of his outspoken personality and willingness to confront fellow crew members. His sharp tongue and candid remarks often stirred tension, particularly with Chief Stew Natasha Webb. Kyle never backed away from the chance to stir the pot between Natalya Scudder and Tumi Mhlongo , leading to an intense rivalry lasting the entire charter season. Despite his antagonistic persona, Kyle's return to Below Deck would bring an undeniable element of entertainment and unpredictability. His ability to evoke strong reactions—both positive and negative—ensures made him a perennially memorable character. This dynamic, combined with his decently professional competency and flair for dramatic flair, makes a compelling case for his return. He could be a fun and frustrating addition to future seasons of Below Deck .

Lexi Wilson

Below deck mediterranean season 6.

Lexi Wilson's stint on Below Deck Mediterranean season 6 was marked by her confrontational demeanor and contentious interactions with crew members, especially Katie Flood. Her clashes often escalated into heated arguments, creating significant tension and a general sense of unpopularity onboard. For instance, her feud with Kate over service standards became a central storyline, showcasing Lexi's combative approach. Lexi also had issues with her family during the charter season, adding to her problems onboard.

Despite her divisive role as a villain, Lexi's presence was pretty entertaining . Her outbursts and wild behavior were captivating, providing the drama that Below Deck is known for. Bringing Lexi back could offer a chance for a redemption arc and professional growth, allowing her to address past behaviors and turn over a new leaf. Unfortunately, Lexi’s return is unlikely. She’s given up yachting since appearing on the show and is largely off the grid, keeping her personal life under wraps after her appearance in the Below Deck franchise.

Below Deck Mediterranean airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo and streams afterward on Peacock.

Below Deck is a popular reality TV franchise that focuses on a group of crew members as they work on luxurious yachts and cater to their client's needs. After the original series proved to be a success, Bravo developed a handful of spinoff shows including Below Deck Selling Yacht, Below Deck Adventure, Below Deck Down Under, and Below Deck Mediterranean.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Recap: Triangle of Sadness

Below deck sailing yacht.

below deck sailing yacht 4 reddit

Captain Glenn is in his  Captain Sandy  of  Below Deck Mediterranean  era. Prior to this season, I liked Glenn, but unpleasant shades of Sandy’s micromanaging have been exhibited by him lately. Plus his relationship with Gary is giving Sandy and Malia.

We pick up with Daisy still crying in her cabin as John impatiently calls her name while searching for her around the boat. “I’m so fucking frustrated right now that if I didn’t cry, I think I would set the boat on fire,” she tells us. Let it all out! Gary radios that the beach trip is delayed, and Daisy says that’s why sending a stew to shore isn’t a good idea. Mads, like the great stew she has been, prioritizes helping Daisy with her tasks.

Two hours after Alex and Lucy were dropped off at the beach, the guests (minus TJ, who opts for a nap) finally decide to head to shore, where they play in the ocean and snorkel. When Gary picks Ileisha’s food up from Mads, he asks if she’ll be riding back with him in the tender, so they can “have a little romantic cruise.” Gross! Also, I find it laughable that these guests came to Italy just to request American food.

The thought of chicken wings causing uproar has never crossed my mind, yet here we are. John says he isn’t a “pretentious guy” before complaining about how there isn’t a place to throw away the chicken bones. We then get a flashback from earlier of Daisy not telling Mads to pack an empty dish. Am I delusional, or are the producers trying to give Daisy the villain edit? As Lucy scrambles to find a solution, Alex says in a confessional that “somebody’s dropping the ball.”

Then Jacob falls over in his chair, bringing everything on the table down with him. “This is a fucking shitshow,” Lucy proclaims. John continues complaining about the lack of a bone dish, even though it all ended up on the ground, and rambles about not enjoying the beach trip. Lucy texts Daisy about the situation, and Daisy says she’s “so over this.” I would be too! Daisy then makes Captain Glenn and Gary aware of what’s happening, and Gary tells her it’s “not that stressful.” Furthermore, when Daisy leaves, he tells Captain Glenn that he doesn’t understand why Daisy’s stressed, because he likes the guests. Um, probably because Gary’s busy living “in his own world,” as Daisy says.

Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Ileisha — who’s already stressed, because the provisioners didn’t give her fish filet again — cuts her fingernail, which Captain Glenn helps patch up. Ileisha thinks she “should know better,” since she has previously had kitchen injuries. Accidents happen, and she should stop beating herself up about everything.

Once Alex and Lucy return, Gary gets annoyed because Chase hasn’t shown up for his shift and runs down to passive-aggressively clarify when he should be outside, which he claims is 2:30 p.m. Chase tells us he was originally told a different time, accompanied by evidence from a few days prior, when Gary tells Chase to be up by 3:30 p.m. I feel like I should be keeping score with these two.

In the laundry room, Gary poorly attempts to flirt with Mads. He tells her, “I just want to hang out and get to know you,” which he says is hard, because they’re always working or around people. “I don’t think Gary gets me at all,” Mads tells us. “I think the affection and love bombing is so cringey.” So! True!

After they sail, John invites Captain Glenn to join them for dinner, which he accepts but doesn’t tell Ileisha and Daisy about until the last minute. Lauren, after asking Lucy to steam some clothes, takes photos of the guys and their man-buns.

Back in the laundry room, Lucy accidentally melts part of Lauren’s dress while steaming it. After being told of the situation, Daisy says her anxiety is “sky high,” since she has to be the bearer of bad news. Thankfully, Lauren understands, despite being visibly shocked when told about the dress.

While setting up for dinner, Daisy asks Gary what he’d do if she walked off the boat, and he says they’d handle it well, because she “creates a stressful environment.” Lucy’s thoughts on this tension: “Negative energy can affect the crew, so I hope they sort their shit out.” Agreed, mostly for Daisy’s sake, but this is the best drama we’ve gotten so far.

Once everyone is seated and waiting for the first course, John tells Captain Glenn he can sense that everyone gravitates toward Gary because of his “charisma.” Readers, I laughed out loud. Ileisha falls behind on time following the first course, which Captain Glenn notices. During the 40-minute wait, Gary shares that he’s a mama’s boy, and John reveals that he owns three units in the Trump Tower in Chicago, which makes complete sense.

The crew then goes upstairs to prepare the gelato station and awards ceremony celebrating the guests that John requested. Daisy’s annoyed that, rather than helping out, Gary takes a cigarette break, which Colin says is a “dick move.” When Gary finally joins them, Daisy confronts him and Colin backs her up. In a confessional, Gary says he doesn’t “give a fuck” and can smoke whenever he wants, because “I’m the chief officer here,” and he thought Colin would be on his side. Chase gives us his two cents and says that if he were a department head, he’d be working rather than wasting his time fighting.

Gary, tasked with hosting the awards ceremony, presents the guests with elementary-school-level certificates like “Straight-A Student” (Anastasia) and “Best Accent” (Natalia). Meanwhile, in the crew cabins, Daisy vents to Colin about how she “feels so much pressure” and has a lot to manage. He comforts her, and Daisy expresses her appreciation for Colin’s support. “If it weren’t for Colin, I’d feel so alone,” she says, adding that she’s surprised by Gary’s behavior, given how close they’ve become. You’d expect him to be more considerate after all this time.

The next day is guest drop-off, for which I’m thankful. As Captain Glenn prepares to dock the boat, John asks him to take photos. When Captain Glenn tells him to hold on, John is unable to take a hint and continues asking questions about docking and rambles about his rich pals who own yachts.

As the crew awaits the guests on the dock, Gary says this was the “best charter yet,” which Daisy thinks he’s only saying to piss her off. Once the guests depart, Daisy talks to Ileisha about how annoying the guys are (true) and how she feels like she “did a shit job this charter” (false).

Captain Glenn focuses on this charter’s issues at the tip meeting — most significantly, TJ’s injury. He then directs his attention to the interior, calling Ileisha out for the long wait between courses before telling Daisy he took issue with the plate clearing and saying that they aren’t “100 percent there yet.” She says they’re trying their best “with the resources we’re given,” and Captain Glenn says a solution must be found: “I don’t mean work harder, but I definitely mean work smarter.”

When Captain Glenn presses a teary-eyed Daisy about the interior’s issues, she says she’d rather talk about it later, then gets up and leaves. Gary checks on and comforts her while she expresses how tired she is, which Captain Glenn overhears. “Don’t get me wrong, Daisy annoys the fuck out of me, but I feel very protective over Daisy,” Gary tells us. Then stop trying to push her buttons! Meanwhile, Colin says he doesn’t get why Daisy’s crying, because nothing bad was said, which, sure, but she literally just confided in Colin about her feelings the night before, so I don’t understand why he’s suddenly acting confused.

Captain Glenn tells Daisy he doesn’t want her to feel like he’s picking on her, and she says she feels bad when something’s criticized — even if it isn’t personal. Daisy tells us she “feels off my game,” which I’ve sensed since the start of the season. When she returns to the saloon, Colin says he wants to “back Glenn up” and explains that his constructive criticism is intended to help the crew improve, which Daisy feels is directed toward her. Colin feels “taken aback by her defensiveness” and talks about how he just dealt with a stressful first charter, but she didn’t see him crying. “This isn’t about you, Daisy,” Colin says. “It’s about the whole crew.” So why bring up the broken engine? The men on this boat are tiring me out.

Then Captain Glenn reveals the $23,000 tip and that a tasting menu at a local restaurant has been organized for the crew. Once everyone separates, Daisy tells Lucy that the guys “have no fucking clue what sort of pressure I’m under.” No matter how much they make it seem like they know what’s happening, the dudes lack any consideration for the weight constantly placed on Daisy’s shoulders.

Outside, Colin complains to Gary and Chase about Daisy’s attitude and says he was trying to back her up, though he made it clear at the meeting that he was supporting Glenn. Gary then brings up Daisy’s reaction to his smoke break, but Colin tells him he was in the wrong. He adds that Gary needs to “lead by example,” and Gary tells Colin to “grow a pair of balls.” Now, this is the drama I’ve been waiting for!

Below Deck Star Proves He’ll Never Take Responsibility For Bad Behavior Amid Sailing Yacht Cancelation Rumors

90 day fiancé: dempsey wilkinson’s face is changing after extraordinary weight loss milestone (her recent transformation in pictures), what happened to jessica condy after below deck adventure season 1.

Captain Glenn Shephard has been at the helm of Below Deck Sailing Yacht from the beginning, and his long-time Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher admitted he favors First Officer Gary King over her at the reunion. Gary and Daisy joined the Below Deck Sailing Yacht cast during season 2, and have an ongoing boatmance on the Parsifal III. Even though their relationship has been through its ups and downs on the show, they have proven to be great at their jobs.

The Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 reunion part 1 recently aired, with an unseen clip added on Peacock . According to the exclusive clip shared by US Weekly , the crew members from the Parsifal III had the opportunity to reveal their honest opinions about Captain Glenn.

When asked by host Andy Cohen if Captain Glenn favors the deck team, Daisy replied, “ I don’t think Glenn favors the deck team. I think honestly, it’s a natural thing in yachting. Glenn is more affiliated with the deck team. ”

Below Deck’s Daisy Says It’s “Okay” Glenn Doesn’t Understand Her Department

In the Below Deck franchise, it's common for the Captain to relate more to the deck team, especially since their jobs are similar. Because of this, Daisy stood by Captain Glenn's decision to favor the exterior crew over the interior crew. “ He understands it more. Honestly, I don’t think he understands my department and that’s okay. It happens across multiple industries ," she noted. Captain Glenn agreed with Daisy's statements after responding to Andy's question about if he knew what the stews do. “ I understand. I guarantee you Daisy has forgotten more about stewing than I will ever know. And I have a better idea of what Gary is up to. "

There is always a divide between the deck team and interior team on most seasons of Below Deck. Captain Sandy Yawn from Below Deck Mediterranean is often hard on the stews, but never criticizes the deck team. However, Captain Glenn doesn't have tendencies to micromanage his crew like Sandy does, and understands that all of his crew members have important jobs on the boat. Since Gary and Daisy have worked with him for three charter seasons now, he knows that their positions on the Parsifal III are valuable.

Now that Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 is coming to an end, the Parsifal III crew members were able to come together and discuss the season at the reunion. While the season involved a lot of drama and multiple love triangles, it still made for great television with its interesting charter guests and scenic destinations. If Gary, Daisy, and Captain Glenn decide to return for Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5, Captain Glenn will be sure that he can count on them to do their jobs to the best of their ability.

Judge hears arguments for restitution to families of 34 people killed in 2019 scuba boat fire

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A federal judge heard arguments Thursday over whether a boat captain should pay restitution to the families of 34 people killed in a California scuba dive boat fire in 2019, with prosecutors seeking reimbursement for funeral expenses and more.

Jerry Boylan, the captain of the Conception, was convicted last year of one count of misconduct or neglect of ship officer following a 10-day trial in federal court in downtown Los Angeles. The charge was a pre-Civil War statute colloquially known as seaman’s manslaughter that was designed to hold steamboat captains and crew responsible for maritime disasters.

Boylan, who was sentenced to four years in prison and three years of supervised release, was also ordered to pay restitution for what was the deadliest maritime disaster in recent U.S. history.

During a hearing Thursday in Los Angeles federal court, however, his attorney attempted to argue that restitution should not be paid because it had not been established that the loss of life was a direct result of Boylan’s actions the night of the fire.

Federal judge George Wu disagreed, saying it was “clearly shown that the defendant did not meet the safety regulation” of having an overnight roving patrol that could have caught the fire, a fact that was already established during Boylan’s criminal trial.

Boylan’s attorney, Gabriela Rivera, also argued that only specific expenses such as funeral costs should be eligible for restitution and should have documentation such as an invoice. She added that Boylan had no significant assets and would not be able to pay restitution, saying he is living off Social Security payments and has a negative cash flow from his bank account.

“He doesn’t have any family,” Rivera said. “He has no meaningful job prospects.”

Prosecutors disagreed, arguing that Boylan in fact had assets totaling six figures and that paying restitution would mean if he ever came into money in the future, he would have to pay the victims.

Kathi Mcllvain, whose son Charles died aboard the Conception, said it was “heartbreaking” to hear the lawyers argue over line-item costs. She and her husband Clark held each other during the hearing and shook their heads as the attorneys went back and forth.

“To nitpick over $700,” said Mcllvain, referring to one amount the defense disputed in their argument. “There’s no price you can put on someone’s life.”

Even if Boylan could not pay restitution now, “at least it should be on the record that he owes that, if he ever does come into money. He shouldn’t have killed 34 people. Then he would have been able to make a living,” Mcllvain said.

McIlvain found it distressing that Boylan was only sentenced to four years and would likely not serve it until his appeal, which could take years.

“Our son’s life was worth a lot more than that,” she said.

The judge said he will have a final decision on restitution amounts at the next hearing July 29.

Boylan is currently out on bond and must report to the Bureau of Prisons by Aug. 8. He was present at Thursday’s hearing but did not speak.

Thursday’s proceeding came nearly five years after the Sept. 2, 2019, tragedy off the central California coast, which prompted changes to maritime regulations, congressional reform and several ongoing civil lawsuits.

The Conception was anchored off Santa Cruz Island, 25 miles (40 kilometers) south of Santa Barbara, when it caught fire before dawn on the final day of a three-day excursion, sinking less than 100 feet (30 meters) from shore.

Thirty-three passengers and a crew member perished, trapped in a bunkroom below deck. Among the dead were the deckhand, who had landed her dream job ; an environmental scientist who did research in Antarctica; a globe-trotting couple; a Singaporean data scientist; and a family of three sisters, their father and his wife.

Boylan was the first to abandon ship and jump overboard. Four crew members who joined him also survived.

Although the exact cause of the blaze remains undetermined, prosecutors blamed Boylan for failing to post the required roving night watch and never properly trained his crew in firefighting. The lack of the roving watch meant the fire was able to spread undetected across the 75-foot (23-meter) boat.

But Boylan’s federal public defenders sought to pin blame on boat owner Glen Fritzler , who with his wife owns Truth Aquatics Inc., which operated the Conception and two other scuba dive boats, often around the Channel Islands.

Their attorneys have never responded to requests for comment from The Associated Press, including on Thursday.
