The 58.9m/193'3" motor yacht 'Idol' (ex. Outback) was built by Oceanfast in Australia. Her interior is styled by Australian designer design house Sam Sorgiovanni and she was completed in 2007. This luxury vessel's exterior design is the work of Austal and she was last refitted in 2011.

Idol has been designed to comfortably accommodate up to 14 guests in 7 suites. She is also capable of carrying up to 13 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Range & Performance

Idol is built with a aluminium hull and aluminium superstructure, with teak decks. Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (3512 B) 1,575hp engines, she comfortably cruises at 13 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 17 knots with a range of up to 4,000 nautical miles from her 94,989 litre fuel tanks at 12 knots. An advanced stabilisation system on board promises exceptional comfort levels at anchor or on any voyage. Her water tanks store around 19,560 Litres of fresh water. She was built to Lloyds Register classification society rules, and is MCA Compliant.

Idol is a fantastic 58.8 m luxury yacht built by Austal in 2007. Idol has a striking exterior design and tasteful interior. Contemporary design, soft furniture warm-colour palette of her interior create a welcoming ambience on board.

Some outstanding features include a 28 sq m beach house with Jacuzzi and outdoor gym. Guests will enjoy some gastronomic delights cooked by the chef on Teppanyaki grill.

A total of 12 guests will be accommodated in 6 large cabins. The master suite is full beam and interconnected to a guest cabin. Two VIP cabins are well-appointed and located on the upper deck. Three other guest cabins are on the lower deck.

The guests will love the enormous array of water sports equipment, which is suitable for both kids and adults.

Watch: 59m yacht Idol collides with bridge in Italy

The 58.9 metre motor yacht Idol has been involved in a collision involving a bridge in Pisa, Italy.

The incident occurred yesterday (Tuesday May 31) at 11am local time when the yacht passed below the bridge of the Autostrada Azzurra, which runs over the Pisa canal.

Idol collided with a bridge that typically has an elevation of 11.8 metres above sea level during low tide. According to eyewitness reports, the yacht attempted to pass during high tide.

The yacht had recently undergone a refit with Pisa-based refit yard Seven Stars, with modifications including a new paint job and modifications to the stern and bow, including the addition of a helipad.

It’s thought that the collision occurred when the yacht left the refit yard en route to open water, as she was being manoeuvred by tug. The location of the refit facilities means that yachts have to travel along the Pisa canal to reach the sea.

The yacht is now in Livorno. The extent of the damage, if any, is not currently known. 

Idol was originally launched in 2007 by Australian shipyard Austal under the name Outback. Her pared-back profile comes from the drawing boards of Sam Sorgiovanni.
