DESCRIPTION

The Ferretti 800 Yacht is a vessel almost 82 feet in length filled with endless possibilities. She is very spacious, elegant and her performance is at its highest. There is a four-cabin layout on the lower deck; three double cabins and both the master and the VIP cabin use the entire beam span. All the cabins aboard have large hull side windows to optimize the natural light! The engine room aboard the Ferretti 800 can be accessed through the cockpit hatch or the companionway in the port quarter. As for the cockpit, there is forward seating in a comfortable U-shape with a table. The flybridge also extends to protect the cockpit as well as provide stowage for any tender you may have onboard.

The Ferretti 800, born as usual from the collaboration between Studio Zuccon International Project and AYT – Advanced Yacht Technology of the Ferretti Group – has amplified the concept of innovation in the nautical field.

The Ferretti 800 build in 2012 and sailing in 2013 is a vessel that has always been very well maintained by its enthusiastic owner. The boat is in a very good condition.

The contemporary design of this highly technological yacht is characterized by the generosity of the interior spaces, superior to that of larger boats, combined with an attractive external line enriched by the use of the Bronze color of the dome and where the large glazed surfaces guarantee an exceptional internal brightness.

This ship has always sailed with crew and with the raised pilothouse and very spacious accommodation for the crew it is the perfect yacht for a longer stay. The ship has a commercial registration and can also be used for charter. Lots of volume packed into a sophisticated Italian design!

The Ferretti 800 is an 81-foot luxury motor yacht with a flybridge launched by Italian boat-building firm Ferretti back in 2010. This innovative model was crafted in partnership with Studio Zuccon, and introduced novel features and styling such as shark’s gill glazing, a cantilevered flybridge, a bronze roof element above-helm and brand-new MAN V12 engines. Yet this is a Ferretti Yacht that strikes a fine balance between the new and the traditional, and the vessel’s clean, sharp lines and deluxe Italian interiors boast that classic Ferretti flair.

The 800’s non-slip fiberglass or teak-lined flybridge comes fitted with either a sculptural roll-bar with an integrated Bimini or with a hard-top canopy that features sun-louvres, for an upper-deck feel that is either sun-kissed or delightfully shaded. There is space on this level for tender storage with a Besenzoni davit at the rear as well as a jacuzzi spa-pool, a set of sunpads and a U-shaped sofa with a timber dining table amidship. At the front of the bridge there is a port-side upper helm station, a forward daybed and, an essential in today’s cruising world, an outdoor wet-bar station with a Gaggenau grill.

On the main level foredeck, you will find a charming bow lounge with a U-shaped sofa hugging a cocktail table and a raised, double-width sunpad with marina-facing views that is ideal for lazy afternoons spent luxuriating in the sun. A shaded aft-deck to the rear boasts a transom sofa and enough room to fit in an outdoor dining table, while side steps lead down to a full-beam swimming platform. Down here you will also discover a capacious tender garage with a dual-use door that opens up to create a beach-club setting.

While the exterior of this yacht is defined by assertive lines and modern curves the interior remains classically elegant. Teak surfaces, stainless steel fixtures, frosted glass doors, widescreen windows, dark timber floors and recessed storage frame an aft-salon that boasts an L-shaped sofa, a loveseat, an armchair and a bespoke coffee table. Further forward you will find a glass Bonaldo dining table for up eight guests, and steps to a sunken mezzanine galley. The Ernestomeda-designed galley features Bosch appliances throughout, a full-height GE fridge-freezer, granite-effect counters and glossy cabinets. An enclosed pilothouse boasts booth-style seating for guests and a pulpit-style helm with Furuno NavNet and Raymarine electronics, Side Power thruster controls, BCS electro-hydraulic steering, VHF and a comfortable leather-clad piloting chair.

Ferretti have pushed the engines back on the 800 model in order to carve out extra space below-deck for four en-suite cabins. A twin bunk berth to starboard is joined by a pair of amidship double cabins, each coming with mullioned hull windows, storage and plush carpeting. A full-beam owner’s stateroom is located aft, and features cushioned wall panels, extra-large mullioned glazing, a walk-in closet, a king-sized bed with bedside cabinets, a side sofa and a bathroom with a ceramic oyster-shell sink and a waterfall shower. There is also room by the bow on this level for a generously proportioned crew quarters for up to four with a pair of heads.

The Ferretti 800 was the first model in the company fleet to be fitted with a pair of MAN V12-1800 CRM diesel inboard engines with V-drives, and these impressive motors help the yacht to achieve top speeds touching 32 knots. At the leisurely pace of 10 knots, meanwhile, you can expect a range of over 810 nautical miles, while a Mitsubishi MSM-400 anti-rolling stabilizer adds extra balance while out at sea.

The motors will be working hard, but the owners and guests will not be effected by any loud running noises.

As with most yachts, the lower deck of the Ferretti 800 yachts are reserved for the sleeping quarters. Onboard the yacht, the layout is a bit different than the standard design. On an 81’ 2” yacht, there is a lot of maintenance to take care of and therefore a crew is a necessity. The crew quarters are located in the front of the vessel rather than aft and this might seem a little strange to most avid yacht owners. The choice to place the crew in the front was however done for a practical reason. The crew quarters are within the bow of the vessel which is a lot smaller than the rest of the yacht. The owner and guests have more room to take advantage of, yet the crew still manage to have room for two twin bunk style cabins with their own head compartments. The rest of the vessel houses the additional four staterooms and four full head compartments.

A Unique Main Deck Design

The main deck of any yacht is where most of the action will take place. It houses the main seating areas, dining, and places where guests will hang out when the weather is less than perfect. On most yachts for sale the kitchen is treated as a sort of meeting place for guests to enjoy, but on a vessel of this size with the crew availability, most yacht owners will likely want to employ a chef to take care of daily meals as well as a captain to pilot the vessel. Cruising the Moskva River: A short guide to boat trips in Russia’s capital

There’s hardly a better way to absorb Moscow’s atmosphere than on a ship sailing up and down the Moskva River. While complicated ticketing, loud music and chilling winds might dampen the anticipated fun, this checklist will help you to enjoy the scenic views and not fall into common tourist traps.

How to find the right boat?

There are plenty of boats and selecting the right one might be challenging. The size of the boat should be your main criteria.

Plenty of small boats cruise the Moskva River, and the most vivid one is this yellow Lay’s-branded boat. Everyone who has ever visited Moscow probably has seen it.

This option might leave a passenger disembarking partially deaf as the merciless Russian pop music blasts onboard. A free spirit, however, will find partying on such a vessel to be an unforgettable and authentic experience that’s almost a metaphor for life in modern Russia: too loud, and sometimes too welcoming. Tickets start at $13 (800 rubles) per person.

Bigger boats offer smoother sailing and tend to attract foreign visitors because of their distinct Soviet aura. Indeed, many of the older vessels must have seen better days. They are still afloat, however, and getting aboard is a unique ‘cultural’ experience. Sometimes the crew might offer lunch or dinner to passengers, but this option must be purchased with the ticket. Here is one such  option  offering dinner for $24 (1,490 rubles).

If you want to travel in style, consider Flotilla Radisson. These large, modern vessels are quite posh, with a cozy restaurant and an attentive crew at your service. Even though the selection of wines and food is modest, these vessels are still much better than other boats.

Surprisingly, the luxurious boats are priced rather modestly, and a single ticket goes for $17-$32 (1,100-2,000 rubles); also expect a reasonable restaurant bill on top.

How to buy tickets?

Women holding photos of ships promise huge discounts to “the young and beautiful,” and give personal invitations for river tours. They sound and look nice, but there’s a small catch: their ticket prices are usually more than those purchased online.

“We bought tickets from street hawkers for 900 rubles each, only to later discover that the other passengers bought their tickets twice as cheap!”  wrote  (in Russian) a disappointed Rostislav on a travel company website.

Nevertheless, buying from street hawkers has one considerable advantage: they personally escort you to the vessel so that you don’t waste time looking for the boat on your own.

Prices start at $13 (800 rubles) for one ride, and for an additional $6.5 (400 rubles) you can purchase an unlimited number of tours on the same boat on any given day.

Flotilla Radisson has official ticket offices at Gorky Park and Hotel Ukraine, but they’re often sold out.

Buying online is an option that might save some cash. Websites such as  this   offer considerable discounts for tickets sold online. On a busy Friday night an online purchase might be the only chance to get a ticket on a Flotilla Radisson boat.

This  website  (in Russian) offers multiple options for short river cruises in and around the city center, including offbeat options such as ‘disco cruises’ and ‘children cruises.’ This other  website  sells tickets online, but doesn’t have an English version. The interface is intuitive, however.

Buying tickets online has its bad points, however. The most common is confusing which pier you should go to and missing your river tour.

“I once bought tickets online to save with the discount that the website offered,” said Igor Shvarkin from Moscow. “The pier was initially marked as ‘Park Kultury,’ but when I arrived it wasn’t easy to find my boat because there were too many there. My guests had to walk a considerable distance before I finally found the vessel that accepted my tickets purchased online,” said the man.

There are two main boarding piers in the city center:  Hotel Ukraine  and  Park Kultury . Always take note of your particular berth when buying tickets online.

Where to sit onboard?

Even on a warm day, the headwind might be chilly for passengers on deck. Make sure you have warm clothes, or that the crew has blankets ready upon request.

The glass-encased hold makes the tour much more comfortable, but not at the expense of having an enjoyable experience.

Getting off the boat requires preparation as well. Ideally, you should be able to disembark on any pier along the way. In reality, passengers never know where the boat’s captain will make the next stop. Street hawkers often tell passengers in advance where they’ll be able to disembark. If you buy tickets online then you’ll have to research it yourself.

There’s a chance that the captain won’t make any stops at all and will take you back to where the tour began, which is the case with Flotilla Radisson. The safest option is to automatically expect that you’ll return to the pier where you started.
