World Class Design

Striking and contemporary, luxury yacht Mariu was designed by Giorgio Armani, and showcases cool and contemporary Italian design. Leather, richly grained woods, and reflective aluminium ceilings are used to great effect in the yacht’s minimalist layout. Great for families with children, the yacht offers 6 cabins for up to 12 guests. Mariu boasts an elevator that allows easy access through the yacht, and an oversized sundeck, which sets her apart from other luxury yachts for charter. The sundeck features a Jacuzzi, sunbathing, socialising spaces, and optional shading. A new feature onboard charter yacht Mariu is the 200-bottle wine cellar.

MARIU Yacht for Charter

Built in 2003, the 167-foot (49.9m) custom luxury motor yacht MARIU is exceptional. Created exclusively for fashion powerhouse, Giorgio Armani, it is no question why this luxury charter yacht is revered for her impeccable style.

MARIU’s sleek exterior was created by Codecasa, which also created the yacht’s remarkable engineering system. This semi-displacement cruiser has an excellent stabilization system, including at anchor stabilizers, to ensure complete comfort at all times. She is able to reach a max speed of 17.5 knots and can cruise at 15 knots. MARIU had lovely outdoor spaces well suited for alfresco dining or socializing and offers an on-deck Jacuzzi on her sundeck, which can be shaded if guests prefer. She also has gym equipment available for guests keen to keep in shape while on board.

The interior of MARIU was designed by Giorgio Armani S.p.A. Featuring an oasis-like atmosphere, guests will enjoy ample space and modern accompaniments. From rustic teak to bleached oak and sumptuous furnishings, MARIU exudes elegance. Exotic textures including rich leathers and unique aluminum ceilings create a unique atmosphere aboard this charter yacht. The yacht’s open layout allows spaces to effortlessly flow. Her four decks are easily accessed via an elevator. The main deck once housed an offer, but it was replaced with a 200-bottle wine cellar that carries impressive vintages for guests to enjoy.

MARIU welcomes up to 12 guests in six resplendent double staterooms, all that are outfitted in exceptional Armani style. Minimalist and elegant, the cabins are well suited for families or groups of friends.

Luxury charter yacht MARIU features a full host of tenders and toys for guest use. An RYA training center, guests can receive temporary licenses to ride Jet Skis and WaveRunners during their time aboard the yacht. MARIU’s professional captain and crew are well suited to provide an incredible holiday for all aboard.

• MARIU is an RYA training establishment for personal water craft (P.W.C or jet skis). As such, a temporary license can be awarded to guests aboard MARIU, valid for the duration of their stay aboard. Guests between the age of 12 to 16 can receive the certificate, but they need to be accompanied by a licensed adult aboard the jet ski, they cannot ride alone. All guests who wish to receive the license, must do a 1 hour training session with the instructor (crew) aboard MARIU. The training is very low key, enjoyable and frankly hard to ‘fail’, but must none the less be completed in order for the yacht to fulfill the obligation of safety aboard.

A General Description of Motor Yacht MARIU

This motor yacht MARIU is a 50 metre 164 (foot) large steel ship which was produced from the keel up at Codecasa Yachts and conceived in the office of Codecasa. Sleeping 12 guests and 10 crew members, motor yacht MARIU used to be F.65. The firm of naval architecture which delivered her design details in respect of the yacht was Codecasa. Further, the interior styling was from the company Studio Dellarole / Ortelli.

Construction & Yacht Design with respect to Luxury Yacht MARIU

Codecasa was the naval architecture company involved in the formal nautical composition for MARIU. Her interior design was conceived by Studio Dellarole / Ortelli. Codecasa is also associated with the yacht general design work for this boat. Italy is the country that decasa Yachts completed their new build motor yacht in. After her official launch in 2003 in Viareggio she was then released to the yacht owner after sea trials. The core hull was crafted from steel. The motor yacht superstructure component is fabricated extensively from aluminium. With a width of 9.5 m / 31.2 feet MARIU has spacious interior. She has a deep draught of 3.11m (10.2ft). She had refit maintenance and changes undertaken by 2008.

Range & Speeds - Engines For M/Y MARIU:

Fitted with twin CATERPILLAR diesel engines, MARIU is able to reach a maximum speed of 18 knots. Connected to her Caterpillar engine(s) are twin screw propellers. She also has an economical range of 4600 miles whilst underway at her cruise speed of 14 knots. Her total HP is 4400 HP and her total Kilowatts are 3238.

Description.

Designed by and built for iconic fashion designer Giorgio Armani, MARIU is the height of fashion. Textures and tones found onboard include leather, richly grained woods and aluminium ceilings that have a soft reflective sheen, beautifully contrasting the rustic wide teak floorboards and bleached oak panelling. With open-plan saloons and minimalist staterooms, MARIU has six well-appointed double cabins. The yacht is ideally set up for families and friends charters. An elevator connects all four decks, including a very large sun deck that can be flexibly shaded for sunbathing or an afternoon nap. The Jacuzzi that is found forward on the sun deck is the ideal place to enjoy sundowners. The main deck office has recently been replaced with a 200-bottle wine cellar allowing guests to enjoy a large variety of refined wines. Armani’s ideas and vision have leapt from catwalk to cakewalk. MARIU is an RYA training establishment for personal water craft (P.W.C or jet skis). As such, a temporary license can be awarded to guests aboard MARIU, valid for the duration of their stay aboard. Guests between the age of 12 to 16 can receive the certificate, but they need to be accompanied by a licensed adult aboard the jet ski, they cannot ride alone. All guests who wish to receive the license, must do a 1 hour training session with the instructor (crew) aboard MARIU. The training is very low key, enjoyable and frankly hard to ‘fail’, but must none the less be completed in order for the yacht to fulfill the obligation of safety aboard.

Built by Giorgio Armani, MARIU played host to many Monaco Grand Prix parties, and as such, she’s an ideal yacht for entertaining—or simply lounging across her breathtaking decks.

Launched in 2003, the MARIU yacht features bespoke Armani-designed interiors that are just as breathtaking today.

Interior Design & Engineering

You’ll find lots of leather, richly-grained woods and aluminium ceilings that softly reflect the rustic wide teak floorboards and bleached oak panelling on the MARIU motor yacht. Her spacious, high-fashion interior was designed to stand out against the classic white, marble, and crystal you find on so many luxury superyachts.

During your MARIU yacht charter, 12 guests will be accommodated across one master, four doubles and one convertible cabin.

Yacht Facilities & Entertainment

Some of the MARIU yacht’s highlights include a 200-bottle wine cellar and an elevator that connects all decks. It’s also possible to maintain your fitness regime, as you’ll find gym equipment, yoga equipment, an elliptical machine, Pilates gear, and more.

You’ll find enormous dining tables on her decks, with plenty of shade on offer by her beautiful canopies. For a more intimate setting, you can relax in her private circular exterior lounge forward on the main deck.

MARIU’s sun deck is expansive. You can sit in the front Jacuzzi or soak up the sunshine on the sun pads before cooling off with a refreshment at the shaded sit-up bar. When you’re ready for more sun, you can head aft to recline on one of the many loungers - or roll out your yoga mat.

Toys & Crew

A crew of 11 will oversee your MARIU yacht charter.

Since she’s an RYA training centre for personal watercraft, adult guests will be able to get temporary licences that enable them to drive the jet skis and waverunners throughout their stay on board. Teenagers between 12 and 16 can get their own certificate, but they’ll need to be accompanied by a licenced adult.

MARIU’s overflowing toy garage includes a flyboard, a jet pack, multiple wakeboards, kiteboards, kitesurfing gear, and a collection of towable toys.

You can go snorkelling or enjoy rendezvous diving, paddle away on her kayaks, and try to catch your dinner with the fishing gear.

When you want to head ashore, she has two tenders to take you and four mountain bikes to aid your land-based explorations.

Textures and tones found in charter yacht MARIU’s interior include leather, richly grained woods and aluminium ceilings that have a soft reflective sheen, beautifully contrasting the rustic wide teak floorboards and bleached oak panelling.

With open-plan saloons and minimalist staterooms, MARIU has six double cabins. The yacht is ideally set up for families and friends charters. An elevator connects all four decks, including a very large sun deck that can be flexibly shaded for sunbathing or an afternoon nap.

Below Deck Med's Capt. Sandy Confronts Rude Guests—and One Walks Away

These demanding Below Deck Mediterranean guests definitely know how to rock the boat.

A disrespectful new group of vacationers made waves with the crew during the Bravo series' Aug. 12 episode.

From complaining about walking up and down stairs to arguing with the staff about cutlery and even asking the interior crew to rearrange the "eye sore" furniture, the rude travelers—led by head charter guest Mahisha —left a bad taste in everyone's mouths. In fact, their behavior went so far, Captain Sandy Yawn was forced to step in a give the group a talking to about their demeaning attitudes.

"I always say this: If you beat character down, you're gonna kill their spirit," Sandy told the guests. "But if you're gracious and you're thankful, you're gonna build them up and they're gonna wanna do more for you."

"I had a client who spent a million euros on a charter, they were so rude to my crew," the Captain continued. "I pulled the primary in and I said, 'I'll cancel your charter tomorrow if you treat my staff like that again.' They turned it around like that, because I called the owner and he goes, 'I don't need to money. End the charter.'"

The reprimanding caused one of the guests, Neysla , to walk away and say under her breath, "I'm, like, over this conversation."

However, Sandy noted how amazing her season nine crew is, adding, "I'm happy to have them."

In a confessional, the Captain explained why she felt the need to intervene after receiving complaints from her crew, namely beloved Chief Stew Aesha Scott .

"How you treat others is really important," she noted. "From what Aesha and the other crew are saying to me, these clients are difficult. Did I get my point across?"

And Sandy's words worked like a charm. Later that day, Aesha even admitted how shocked she was by how polite the group had become.

"All of a sudden, the guests seem to have this base level of decency," the Chief Stew recounted in a confessional. "Maybe they reflected and realized how horrible they were and this is their way of saying their sorry."

And when the charter was over, Mahisha gave the crew a glowing evaluation.

"Thank you guys so much, this was amazing," she said as her party disembarked. "I don't think we had any issues, did we?"

Aesha's reaction? "Were we on the same charter?!" she hilariously remarked in a confessional. "I mean, I'll take it for sure, but this is so confusing."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 has finally been confirmed, but after Gary King’s scandalous sexual misconduct allegations surfaced last year and halted the series , I think the show should be canceled after this season. Gary, the First Officer aboard Parsifal III, has been doing his best to downplay the serious allegations against him that he’d allegedly been sexually inappropriate with a makeup artist on the Below Deck production team. After years on Below Deck Sailing Yacht, the behavior sadly wasn’t surprising to viewers who have watched Gary’s playboy actions and seen him be derogatory toward women in the past.

Gary’s behavior has been difficult to watch throughout the years, but now that Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 is moving forward and coming to Bravo, things have come to a surprising head. With Gary returning to the show, which was filmed over a year ago prior to the sexual misconduct allegations coming out, things could be tense between the First Officer and the rest of the crew should the news have broken while he was aboard Parsifal III. While it’s unlikely it’ll be covered in the series, I believe Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 could be its last.

Gary King's Behavior Ruined The Show

He’s been a nightmare since the beginning.

Gary ’s time on Below Deck Sailing Yacht has been difficult for some viewers to reckon with, especially after his behavior in the last year. While Gary has always been a polarizing figure in the series , many have found that watching him makes them uncomfortable after the allegations came out about his behavior, but were also uneasy about the First Officer before. Throughout Below Deck Sailing Yacht ’s run, Gary has been known as the playboy type, flirting endlessly with women both on the sailing yacht’s crew and within the groups of guests aboard. Gary’s behavior hasn’t always been suspicious, but noticeable.

Gary has long been cast as the playboy of the series, but his time aboard Parsifal III hasn’t led to many romances that viewers have seen, which is why his time in the love triangle of Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 was surprising. While Gary and Daisy had joked about being flirty throughout the previous seasons they’d worked together when Daisy and Colin Macrae decided to pursue a relationship aboard the sailing yacht last season, Gary quickly got jealous. Gary’s behavior was irritating , destructive, and made it clear that he wasn’t taking their genuine feelings for each other seriously.

Future Cast Members Likely Won't Want To Work With Him

Below deck sailing yacht is going to struggle with casting.

While Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 is already filmed and ready to go, Bravo may struggle filling spots on the series in the future . The cast of the series is, as with other Below Deck franchises, a rotating cast of yachties who work from season to season on the sailing yacht. While some stick around, like Captain Glenn Shephard, Gary, and Daisy Kelliher, others are rotating members who participate in some seasons, but not others. With a rotating cast of yachties, Below Deck Sailing Yacht needs to stay appealing to yachties who want to start working with the franchise.

While Gary has been a longtime part of the show, his behavior on Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 was difficult for others to deal with. From his jealousy of Daisy and Colin to the way he treated stew Mads Herrera, who he had a flirty connection with, Gary wasn’t the ideal yachtie to work with. While his behavior could’ve been blown out of proportion for the show, the allegations against him were a far different brand of problem. With Gary accused of sexual misconduct while working aboard a Below Deck yacht, new yachties will likely want to steer clear .

Fans Won't Want To Watch Gary King Anymore

Viewers don’t want to support gary.

Much like the yachties who could be interested in working aboard a Below Deck superyacht that will be dissuaded because of Gary’s actions, viewers aren’t interested in tuning in to support Gary. While that isn’t necessarily the same as supporting Below Deck Sailing Yacht, the series is at fault for giving Gary a platform to continue to appear as a public figure after some serious allegations were lodged against him. Many viewers love the show but don’t want to watch it if Gary is on it because that simply means they support someone who has potentially done something deeply inappropriate.

While Below Deck Sailing Yacht will be returning for another season this fall, I believe that the next season of the series will be the last one. Even though many enjoy the crew of Below Deck Sailing Yacht, support of the series won’t be as high if Gary continues to be featured on the show . After his poor behavior and the fact that he’s deflected the allegations consistently, viewers won’t be interested or invested in a story that heavily features Gary, even if the rest of the Below Deck Sailing Yacht crew are people they enjoy watching.
