Over the years, Antibes Yacht Show has become the not-to-be-missed spring show in the Mediterranean. This most important exhibition at the beginning of the season allows professionals to present their products and services before the summer. Mostly PRE-OWNED yachts for sale or for charter get the first exposure. The Antibes Yacht Show is also the first meeting point at the beginning of the season. MONACO YACHT SHOW

The world’s major event in super yachting takes place yearly in the prestigious setting of the Port Hercules of Monaco. Antibes, the ancient city of Antipolis was founded by the Greeks in the 5th century BC, and later became a major trading port dominated by the Romans. Today, it is a charming town with multiple facets. The ‘Vieille Ville’, surrounding the harbour, has kept many historic monuments dating from each period of its rich heritage, while the northeast part of the city is home of Sophia-Antipolis, an innovative science and technological park. The continuous towns of Juan-les-Pins and Golfe Juan are famous for their long stretch of sandy beach and Golfe Juan is home to a major marina. Antibes is considered by many as the Yacht Capitol of the Mediterranean, with large marinas and ever growing number of international marine services. English is almost more widely spoken here than French, and many professional crew members call the city home. Antibes is a lively place filled with year round events and social activities. The town is also highly popular and a first choice for tourists, it is known for its restaurants, luxurious hotels and nearby beaches. Another great point is the proximity with the Nice Cote d’Azur International Airport, the second largest airport in France, only twenty minutes away. The Antibes Yacht Show, held in April, is the only yacht show for brokerage and charter in Europe.

An enticing cocktail of ancient and modern delights

Fragrant, flower-filled cobblestone streets sprawl out from the bustling central market place whilst enviable walled mansions are hidden amid dense pines, no wonder Picasso once called Antibes his home. Remaining one of the most enchanting and romantic old towns on the Côte d’Azur, its medieval towers, pastel hued houses and glorious beaches paint a captivating picture on the Mediterranean coastline.

Nestled desirably between Cannes and Nice, Cap d’ Antibes offers a unique charm amongst the glittering hot spots of France , featuring many colourful markets and chic boutiques. For a surreal aperitif, head to the Bar Absinthe with its vintage poster-lined ceilings and its cave-like interior evoking the atmosphere of a 20th-century drinking den.

2024 Erie Boat show drops anchor at Bayfront Convention Center this weekend

Fishermen and boat enthusiasts are gearing up for the 2024 Erie Boat Show at the Bayfront Convention Center at 1 Sassafras St.

According to Mark Concilla, president of Erie Promotions, this is the first boat show that has been in Erie for a while, and the first boat show at the convention center.

“The Bayfront Convention Center is the perfect location for the boat show of course because it’s right on the water,” Concilla said. “We’re calling it the all-new boat and fishing show.”

The show will include six regional boat dealers who will be showcasing a variety of vessels from pontoon boats to fishing boats to pleasure crafts and watercrafts.

Boyer RV will also be showcasing a new brand of electric bikes and golf carts.

The boat show will showcase a variety of fishing industry vendors who will be selling fishing gear and tackle.

Guest speakers to share their expertise

Five guest speakers will present seminars, including Captain Jim Steel from Innovative Outdoors, professional tour angler Dylan Nussbaum, Lime Lake Marine Ashton Laird and Captain Daryl Wiese from Stress Reelief Sportfishing.

The presentations will cover a variety of topics from trolling for walleye to choosing a boat for your fishing style.

"The seminars are ongoing all weekend and they’re high quality seminars to help teach people Lake Erie fishing for walleye, perch, steelhead and more," Concilla said.

Captain Pete Alex of Vision Quest Charter Fishing will be hosting two seminars tackling Lake Ontario and Lake Erie fishing.

“The Lake Erie seminar, it’s going to be about how I catch fish day in and day out in the early summer to early fall period for walleyes,” Alex said. “That’s going to be from primarily 60 feet of water all the way out to the Canadian line in (the) deep water summer program and all the tactics we use.”

Saturday is Pirate Day at the boat show. Kids who attend will have the opportunity to hang out with the pirates from Scallywags Pirate Adventures.

Sunday at the show is also Teacher Appreciation Day sponsored by First Student. All educators who attend the show receive free admission.

The Dubai International Boat Show , as expected, is a showcase for superyachts and hypercars. This year the show, running Feb. 28-Mar. 3, is also welcoming the concept of sustainability, kicking off a day ahead of the show at the Leisure Yachting Conference. Converging 100+ global maritime industry leaders, the conference places emphasis on the Dubai Reef project, the world’s largest artificial reef.

Additional presentations aimed at embracing sustainable tourism include the multi-billion-dollar Ras Al Khaimah hospitality project, Saudi Vision 2030’s two-billion-dollar Amaala Yacht Club, and NEOM’s soon to be Red Sea yachting hub, Sindalah Island .

The conference is also presenting an overview of the yachting industry’s green technology developments that align superyachts with new, younger buyers that are more focused on sustainability and environment. The discussion will include CO2 emissions regulations, ecotourism destinations, the future of the yachting sector, and Debate Hub, a comparative exercise engaging the yacht and automobile industries.

Dubai By The Numbers

Organized by Dubai World Trade Center, the 2024 five-day Dubai International Boat Show, aka DIBS, features 1,000 brands from 55 countries with 46 boat launches. DIBS attracted 400 new companies and brands to exhibit this year and brings nine SYBASS, Superyacht Builders Association, members to the event.

The 2023 show brought a similar number of exhibitors from 60 countries and 50+ global launches, bringing AED 2.5 billion, or $680,646,418 USD in boats and yachts to the docks and displays.

Sunreef is spotlighting its 40 Open Power catamaran, showing it alongside the Sunreef Supreme 68 Power Athena, on display for the first time in the UAE. Sunreef is known for innovative catamaran designs that incorporate solar panels into the hull, mast, boom, and hard top Bimini covers, extending range and reducing fuel use while streamlining the appearance.

Feretti Group is putting the Riva 82’ Diva flybridge on the premiere pedestal, in addition to the Ferretti Yachts 780 and the Pershing 8X. The Riva 82’ Diva is beautifully designed, artfully finished with lots of lacquered mahogany, and smartly outfitted in contemporary furnishings and built-ins. Elegant, luxurious, and meticulously detailed with silver metal Riva brand inlays strategically throughout, the Diva is divine.

Interesting, Exotic, And/Or Unusual

Docked along Superyacht Avenue, there are plenty of unique yachts. One is quite different, however, in that the full custom 50-meter craft is built almost entirely of wood. FRP and teak planks make up the hull and superstructure, designed to accommodate 12 guests in six staterooms. Crafted by Ahmad Bin Suloom in the UAE, the yacht’s exterior makes a bold statement.

A luxurious lineup of yachts from Azimut, Gulf Craft, Sanlorenzo, Princess, Ferretti, Cranchi, and Sunseeker on display illustrate cutting edge design and technology in the superyacht sector. Watch for the UAE-based Gulf Craft to present a number of yachts in addition to a secretive reveal.

The show features some of the rarest, most exotic automobiles in the world parked along Hypercar Avenue. On display are the Bugatti Chiron, McLaren Speedtail, and Pagani Huayra, among others.

Additionally, Fortune Business Insights market research reports that the global luxury yacht market is expected to double in size over the next eight years with annual revenues reaching $13.6 billion USD by 2030.
