OPERA is a 146.35 m Motor Yacht, built in Germany by Lurssen and delivered in 2023.

Her power comes from a diesel electric engine. She has a gross tonnage of 12518.0 GT and a 20.0 m beam.

She was designed by Terence Disdale , who also designed the interior. Terence Disdale has designed 42 yachts and designed the interior of 78 yachts for yachts above 24 metres.

The naval architecture was developed by Lurssen , who has architected 72 other superyachts in the BOAT Pro database - she is built with a Teak deck, a Steel hull, and Aluminium superstructure.

OPERA is in the top 5% by LOA in the world. She is one of 72 motor yachts longer than 100m, and, compared to similarly sized motor yachts, her volume is 5354.49 GT above the average.

OPERA is currently sailing under the Cayman Islands flag, the 2nd most popular flag state for superyachts with a total of 1380 yachts registered. Exclusive: Launch of new Lürssen 146m superyacht OPERA

The newest addition to the prestigious Lürssen fleet has just been launched from their Bremen facilities in Germany. The majestic 146m (479ft) superyacht OPERA was unveiled this morning, where onlookers were wowed by her vast proportions.

As ever, details about this Lürssen superyacht remain shrouded in secrecy. Her exterior styling comes from the boards of Terence Disdale Design, featuring elegant lines and floor-to-ceiling windows to maximise natural light and create wide vistas to provide a harmonious balance with her surroundings.

Throughout the build the megayacht’s specifications and amenities have been kept a closely guarded secret, but pictures reveal she will have a helipad on the foredeck, as well as a large main deck swimming pool and expansive beach club.

German shipyard Lürssen has successfully launched the 146m/479ft luxury mega yacht PROJECT OPERA from its facilities in Bremen. She was captured by avid yacht spotter and photographer DrDuu.

M/Y PROJECT OPERA is believed to be the replacement yacht for the same-sized mega yacht PROJECT SASSI, which was destroyed by a fire at the shipyard in 2018. Europe’s largest floating dock (290m/951.5ft long, 53m/174ft wide and 51m/167ft tall) was employed to bring PROJECT OPERA to the Bremen facilities back in May 2021.

PROJECT OPERA is built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure with naval architecture from the shipyard. She has a 20m/65.7ft beam and comes in at 11999 GT.

Few details have been revealed in regard to the styling and amenities aboard the luxury yacht PROJECT OPERA, however, exterior shots reveal a foredeck helipad and a second one on the sundeck aft, a Jacuzzi and sunbeds forward and a cavernous beach club attached to a generous lower deck swim platform. Two stairways sweep up to the main deck two floors above and a swimming pool behind the observation area along the stern.

M/Y PROJECT OPERA is one of four mega yachts currently under construction at Lürssen, the others being 145m/475.8ft luxury yacht LUMINANCE due for launch later in 2022, 122m/400ft JAG in 2023 and 137m/449.5ft ALIBABA in 2024.

Sea trials are expected shortly for PROJECT OPERA, with delivery taking place before the end of 2022.
