Always wanted to visit Pesto and we were not disappointed. We timed it right as arrived about 15.30 just after a very busy lunch time, the staff were very helpful and explained how it all worked. We ordered the £11.95 set lunch so picked 3... dishes each. All the food was delicious so we will be visiting again very soon to try out some other dishes. More

We have just arrived back home after dining here at The Yatch for my daughter in laws birthday. There were 9 of us in total, 7 adults and 2 children. We were greeted with a welcoming smile by our waiter, Mark, who showed us to... our table, he was very courteous and professional as we were seated and brought us the menus, he asked us straight away if we needed a drink, which we ordered. As we were looking through the menu, we could see that the restaurant was filing up pretty quickly and that Mark was dealing with quite a few tables, he came back to us after a while, as he was really busy and took our order. We had the Pesto Tapas, which was very filling, we all said that the food was more than enough. The children eat from the children's menu, but there was nothing left on their plates at the end. Mark asked us a couple of times if we were OK and if the food was nice, which we told him it was. We could all see how busy Mark was, entertaining other guests with his professionalism and eventually caught his eye to ask for the bill. After paying, I thanked Mark, very much, for the way he handled himself over how busy the restaurant was. We visited Pesto at The Yacht on a cold and damp Wednesday evening at around 6.30 pm. We were quite surprised to see how busy the car park was during the midweek.This was our first visit to this restaurant, although we have been to Pesto... Dibbinsdale before. On entering the restaurant, we received a warm and friendly greeting by the front of house and waiting staff, who confirmed our online booking. As we were shown to our seats, I did notice that the busy car park did truly reflect how busy the restaurant actually was, which we all agreed was a good sign for our forthcoming meal. The decor is very pleasant, which also had the added luxury of an open hearth fire roaring away on a cold February evening. This complimented and help create a nice cosy atmosphere. We were offered bread and olives while we perused the extensive menu. Drinks orders were promptly taken and received,again with warm friendly smiles. After taking 20 minutes or so, we all eventually decided what we would like to eat. I did notice that the waitress was nearby who was discreetly watching and professionally waiting for us to put our menus down. The tapas style dishes were all fantastic, extremely tasty and well presented. I now understand why the car park was so full on a Wednesday evening... quality food, excellent staff and lovely surroundings! Obviously word has got around. We will definitely be visiting again and also highly recommend. More

We visited on a busy Friday night and although we were 15 minutes early we were shown to our table at once. Our server Victoria took went out of her way to make us feel at home right from the start. She took our order... whilst having a friendly word or two. So to the food which was delicious but the best part for us is the portions. All the dishes on the menu are served on small plates so you are able to combine favourite dishes without having plates piled high! Personally I had a perfectly cooked lasagne with possibly the best garlic bread and cheese I’ve ever tasted. All our mains were served piping hot. Only three of us had deserts but they were delicious. So for six people having two mains each, three deserts, three bottles of wine, two beers and two soft drinks a bill of just under £150 was a pleasant surprise. All in all it was a pleasure to dine at Pesto’s, delicious food, attentive staff and a great atmosphere to dine in. More

This has been the first place me and my mamma have been to since lockdown began. Upon walking in we felt at ease, all hygiene and safety measures in place, but with warm welcoming staff to make you feel at home. Our server was Kelly,... so lovely, helpful not to mention knowledgeable (the wine recommendation to accompany my cheese board at the end was beyond perfect) the food is good quality, flavorful and fantastic value for money. We went as a family a couple of weeks ago after hearing lots of recommendations. We seemed to be sat in an area that didn’t have specific waiters/waitress, we waited 30mins for our drinks as we couldn’t seem to get the attention of the staff.... Food arrived, a couple dishes were only luke warm and also 1 dish was incorrect. Towards the end of the meal we had a very attentive waiter who’d maybe just started his shift. We were overcharged due to the incorrect dish been given. Saying all this the food was really tasty and we would go back. More

We had a wonderful lunch here a couple of days ago. I ordered 3 tapas off the £9.99 menu and when the first one arrived ( the Linguini al Pesto) I knew I would enjoy the others as this one smelt so delicious! The other... two were just as good, I had the Funghi al aglio and, as they had no chicken wings, I had the Polpetta vegana con salsa. My husband decided to opt for the Bruchetta salmone and a bowl of chips. We went with another couple who both had the tapas, one picked from the £9.95 selection and the other from the £11.99 selection. The generous portions meant that no-one went hungry! No one had any complaints what-so-ever despite them being short staffed both in the kitchen and on table service, we did not notice. The staff were lovely, the chap that served our table went out of his way to ensure the order was fulfilled as they were very busy. But the beauty of the Tapas menu is that you don't worry if one dish arrives slightly later than the others! The ambiance of the Yacht is nicer than it was on previous visits (pre Pesto at the Yacht days when it was a pub restaurant) with plenty of outdoor tables and nicely spaced, socially distanced tables inside. We have been living away from the Wirral for a couple of years now and were so happy to see that the restaurant/pub scene is continually improving and this would be a regular lunchtime venue if we were still living here. Great food, great service and great prices too! More

We visited Pesto [at The Yacht] a few days ago to celebrate two family birthdays. It was our first meal out in months (and during the pandemic). The restaurant now has a one-way system in place with sanitation areas and all staff were wearing masks.... Despite all this, the place still feels friendly. We were given a great table and looked after superbly by Catarina; although all staff were great including the busser. Food was great as usual and it was a very enjoyable evening. We visit Pesto regularly because it is a lovely venue with great staff and food and is very reasonably priced. Thank you for maintaining your usual high standards while keeping the place feeling safe. More

It was our anniversary meal and we were really excited to get out and enjoy ourselves. we were greeted at the door, and sat down, not told anything about the menu or even asked about allergies (bit worrying). We ordered after about 25 minutes of... being sat down, waitress was nice but didn’t really make conversation, she just took our order then left. I understand she was probably very busy! We waited nearly 35 minutes for food which again we understand it was very busy but no one came to check on us or we weren’t made aware of a wait time, it’s just simple customer service. The food came and it was fantastic but we were waiting for one dish for ages and by the time we finished everything else they still hadn’t come, but our waitress said she would check and she didn’t come back to us. Again, it was very busy and I had to keep telling myself this. We finished our food and waited 45 minutes for our plates to be cleared or for someone to acknowledge us, at this point the restaurant was pretty much empty but we couldn’t get the attention of any of the 6 waiters at the till chatting. We felt ignored throughout our duration and we would of spent plenty more money and had desserts/ more drinks but at the point we were fed up and left feeling very disappointed - maybe I won’t visit again on a Saturday evening… More

1st time visit since the revamp. Can honestly say the place is amazing. From the moment we entered we were greeted with a warm and happy smile from Cat. Graeme then organised a table for us to dine at. While we waited for our table... to be ready, we sat at the bar and had pre dinner drinks. What can only be described as an entertainment of bar work was an understatement. It's at this point we met Max and Leui. The fast and efficient service mixed with the slight craziness of Leui made our stay at the bar funny, enjoyable and most of all, memorable for all the right reasons. After a short time we were seated and our server Olivia arrived to take our order. Such a vibrant, happy person and very knowledgeable with regards to the menu and choices. Olivia helped my wife with her choice of meal as she was torn between two amazing meals. So we will be back again next Friday to sample more from the menu. Overall, what an excellent dining experience. To think we have missed out over the past 18 months since the refurb. But I'm sure we will soon catch up. Thank you to all the staff front of house and out back. The chefs who make the delicious food and the pot washers who make sure there is plenty of crockery and cutlery for all the customers. We found ‘Pesto’ yesterday, on the way back to our touring caravan after a day out. We’re back today for lunch!! Wish we’d found it sooner - we go home tomorrow. Recently reopened due to Covid they are very well organised and the staff are... lovely. It is very clean and tables are well spaced. Looos are also very clean. The food is marvellous😋😋. Yesterday we had 3 plates: polenta, saffron rice balls, fettuccini carbonara & 2x pizzetta. 2 coffees 1 soft drink and all for £26.00. Soooo tasty, at no time did we feel rushed, it was a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Hence back again today for a delightful lunch. We had 6 plates today: polenta, garlic mushrooms, 2 x cannelloni, lamb Ragu, & fishcakes. Followed by lemon mousse and pear & apple crumble plus a large wine, a coke and a coffee and that was £44.50. We probably won’t eat more than a tiny snack this evening. Nothing was a disappointment. Everything was delectable. I wish we lived close enough to make this a regular haunt. You must visit. You will not regret it! More

We had takeaway on NYE and was disappointed with the experience. We had booked for an 8pm time slot but was called just before to say that they were running 30 mins behind so to collect at 20:30. When we turned up the whole car... park was full with people waiting to collect, it seemed like everyone had waited for a long time to collect their food. We got ours within 10 mins of being there and went home. Got home to find that 6 dishes were missing. Called up and was told that if we came back we could get the food or we could speak to their head office next week for a part refund. Not ideal considering the drive is 10 mins both ways and the rest of the food we did have was cold. Nonetheless we went back and got the remaining dishes. The food was nice and I understand the staff are working under difficult circumstances on NYE but perhaps they just needed more help and support from above. Overall the experience was disappointing. Visited a few times since it opened, the food is excellent, plenty of choice, the service is good but once again the bill was wrong, they charged £2.50 for tap water.. How many people do not check the bill and Pestos get extra profit. We... love going there but if this happens once more we will stop going. More

Fantastic evening out. First time visiting and we did have to wait for our table for a considerable length of time, however we had our drinks knocked off our bill for the inconvenience which was greatly appreciated. Food was lovely and definitely worth the wait.... It was so nice that it was tapas style so we got to try lots of different flavours and dishes. We had 6 dishes between two of us plus a pudding each. The puddings were to die for and I highly recommend saving room for one! The waiters were so polite and friendly - an asset to the restaurant. Covid wise, all waiters were wearing face masks and it was a one way system round the restaurant. I will absolutely be returning. More

This is one of mum and I favourite restaurants. Staff are warm, engaging and give first class service. The food is wonderful, in all our visits we have never had a bad experience. We went as a family a couple of weeks ago after hearing lots of recommendations. We seemed to be sat in an area that didn’t have specific waiters/waitress, we waited 30mins for our drinks as we couldn’t seem to get the attention of the staff.... We had a wonderful lunch here a couple of days ago. I ordered 3 tapas off the £9.99 menu and when the first one arrived ( the Linguini al Pesto) I knew I would enjoy the others as this one smelt so delicious! The other... two were just as good, I had the Funghi al aglio and, as they had no chicken wings, I had the Polpetta vegana con salsa. My husband decided to opt for the Bruchetta salmone and a bowl of chips. We went with another couple who both had the tapas, one picked from the £9.95 selection and the other from the £11.99 selection. The generous portions meant that no-one went hungry! No one had any complaints what-so-ever despite them being short staffed both in the kitchen and on table service, we did not notice. The staff were lovely, the chap that served our table went out of his way to ensure the order was fulfilled as they were very busy. But the beauty of the Tapas menu is that you don't worry if one dish arrives slightly later than the others! The ambiance of the Yacht is nicer than it was on previous visits (pre Pesto at the Yacht days when it was a pub restaurant) with plenty of outdoor tables and nicely spaced, socially distanced tables inside. We have been living away from the Wirral for a couple of years now and were so happy to see that the restaurant/pub scene is continually improving and this would be a regular lunchtime venue if we were still living here. Great food, great service and great prices too! More

We visited Pesto [at The Yacht] a few days ago to celebrate two family birthdays. It was our first meal out in months (and during the pandemic). The restaurant now has a one-way system in place with sanitation areas and all staff were wearing masks.... Despite all this, the place still feels friendly. We were given a great table and looked after superbly by Catarina; although all staff were great including the busser. Food was great as usual and it was a very enjoyable evening. We visit Pesto regularly because it is a lovely venue with great staff and food and is very reasonably priced. It was our anniversary meal and we were really excited to get out and enjoy ourselves. we were greeted at the door, and sat down, not told anything about the menu or even asked about allergies (bit worrying). We ordered after about 25 minutes of... being sat down, waitress was nice but didn’t really make conversation, she just took our order then left. I understand she was probably very busy! We waited nearly 35 minutes for food which again we understand it was very busy but no one came to check on us or we weren’t made aware of a wait time, it’s just simple customer service. The food came and it was fantastic but we were waiting for one dish for ages and by the time we finished everything else they still hadn’t come, but our waitress said she would check and she didn’t come back to us. Again, it was very busy and I had to keep telling myself this. We finished our food and waited 45 minutes for our plates to be cleared or for someone to acknowledge us, at this point the restaurant was pretty much empty but we couldn’t get the attention of any of the 6 waiters at the till chatting. 1st time visit since the revamp. Can honestly say the place is amazing. From the moment we entered we were greeted with a warm and happy smile from Cat. Graeme then organised a table for us to dine at. While we waited for our table... to be ready, we sat at the bar and had pre dinner drinks. What can only be described as an entertainment of bar work was an understatement. It's at this point we met Max and Leui. The fast and efficient service mixed with the slight craziness of Leui made our stay at the bar funny, enjoyable and most of all, memorable for all the right reasons. After a short time we were seated and our server Olivia arrived to take our order. Such a vibrant, happy person and very knowledgeable with regards to the menu and choices. Olivia helped my wife with her choice of meal as she was torn between two amazing meals. So we will be back again next Friday to sample more from the menu. Overall, what an excellent dining experience. To think we have missed out over the past 18 months since the refurb. But I'm sure we will soon catch up. Thank you to all the staff front of house and out back. The chefs who make the delicious food and the pot washers who make sure there is plenty of crockery and cutlery for all the customers. We found ‘Pesto’ yesterday, on the way back to our touring caravan after a day out. We’re back today for lunch!! Wish we’d found it sooner - we go home tomorrow. Recently reopened due to Covid they are very well organised and the staff are... lovely. It is very clean and tables are well spaced. Looos are also very clean. The food is marvellous😋😋. Yesterday we had 3 plates: polenta, saffron rice balls, fettuccini carbonara & 2x pizzetta. 2 coffees 1 soft drink and all for £26.00. Soooo tasty, at no time did we feel rushed, it was a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Hence back again today for a delightful lunch. We had 6 plates today: polenta, garlic mushrooms, 2 x cannelloni, lamb Ragu, & fishcakes. Followed by lemon mousse and pear & apple crumble plus a large wine, a coke and a coffee and that was £44.50. We probably won’t eat more than a tiny snack this evening. Nothing was a disappointment. Everything was delectable. I wish we lived close enough to make this a regular haunt. You must visit. We had takeaway on NYE and was disappointed with the experience. We had booked for an 8pm time slot but was called just before to say that they were running 30 mins behind so to collect at 20:30. When we turned up the whole car... park was full with people waiting to collect, it seemed like everyone had waited for a long time to collect their food. We got ours within 10 mins of being there and went home. Got home to find that 6 dishes were missing. Called up and was told that if we came back we could get the food or we could speak to their head office next week for a part refund. Not ideal considering the drive is 10 mins both ways and the rest of the food we did have was cold. Nonetheless we went back and got the remaining dishes. The food was nice and I understand the staff are working under difficult circumstances on NYE but perhaps they just needed more help and support from above. Overall the experience was disappointing. Visited a few times since it opened, the food is excellent, plenty of choice, the service is good but once again the bill was wrong, they charged £2.50 for tap water.. Fantastic evening out. First time visiting and we did have to wait for our table for a considerable length of time, however we had our drinks knocked off our bill for the inconvenience which was greatly appreciated. Food was lovely and definitely worth the wait.... It was so nice that it was tapas style so we got to try lots of different flavours and dishes. We had 6 dishes between two of us plus a pudding each. The puddings were to die for and I highly recommend saving room for one! The waiters were so polite and friendly - an asset to the restaurant. Came with the wife for a teatime bite to eat. Loads of parking and a massive garden outside. Service was excellent and food was delicious, had the tapas which was brilliant, had 3 dishes each which was more than enough. Will definitely be coming back.
