Fantastic Tour

Cami was a wonderful guide, and very patient with the older people in the group who had trouble hearing and keeping up with the rest. She gave us so much information on the tour, and did so in a way that made it really interesting and fun. She has the perfect personality for being a guide, and we will definitely be recommending this tour to all of our friends visiting Bruge.

Tour of Pisa, San Gimignano and Siena

We used get your guide for a day trip to Pisa, San Gimignano and Siena. The Get Your Guide information stated it was a small group tour in English. There were 83 people on this tour and it was a bilingual tour - English and Portuguese. I would not recommend this tour. Far too many people to organise, a lack of information by the tour guide and rushed through the experiences to get to the next m Poor and wrong information provided by Get your Guide as to the nature of this tour. If I had had better information I would not have booked this tour

Save your money

Bar hopping in Tokyo - There has to be a better tour. Our guide was inexperienced and it was very difficult to understand his English. The places we went to were all empty except for us and far apart. The food was mediocre. We spent too much time in each restaurant. Except for the other participants on the tour, it was boring.

SCAM company - avoid!

We did an experience in Milano, Italy in May 2024. The price was 51 euros per person. Once there, we discover they usually charge 35 euros per person - and they charge you 35 euros. It was also written on the place's website. The 46% margin is clearly excessive. FYI Airbnb Experience has a 20% margin. #scam

Branko was brilliant

Branko was brilliant. He was friendly and inviting and looked after the group. The group size was 25-30 which was large but manageable. What made the difference for us (party of 5) was his lived experiences of life in the Homeland war and his stories. He also had a nice balance of history and facts yet remained entertaining. He added humour to the tour and his English was nearing that of a native English speaker. This experience was deliberately set for early in our stay and has wonderfully set up the stay in Dubronvik in such a positive way.

Florence and Venice

Booked a gallery in Florence to view the statue of David and was very pleased with the service. It was so easy to find the gentleman with our tickets. We skipped the long queue and gained entry immediately. The ticket price was reasonable and we were so thrilled with the service that my daughter booked a gondola ride in Venice for the following day. I will use this company again when travelling next.

Understanding weather patterns is crucial for safe and successful catamaran sailing. Here are some key points to consider:

  • Study weather forecasts: Regularly check weather forecasts before your sailing trip. Look for details such as wind speed, wind direction, and any warnings or advisories.
  • Learn about local weather patterns: Different locations have unique weather patterns. Understand the typical wind patterns, temperature changes, and seasonal variations in your sailing area to anticipate potential weather changes.
  • Recognize signs of changing weather: Keep an eye out for signs of changing conditions while on the water. Signs may include darkening clouds, shifting winds, sudden temperature drops, or changes in wave patterns.
  • Be prepared for different weather conditions: Have necessary gear and equipment for various conditions. This includes proper clothing, safety gear, and navigation tools. Prepare for storms, high winds, and other challenging weather situations.
  • Adjust your sailing plans accordingly: Based on the forecast and observations while sailing, make necessary adjustments to your route, timing, and activities. Safety should always be the top priority.

Understanding weather patterns will help you make informed decisions and ensure a safe and enjoyable catamaran sailing experience. Prioritize safety and consult with experienced sailors or local authorities when in doubt. Safe sailing and smooth voyages!

Mooring and Docking Safely

Mooring and docking safely are crucial when sailing a catamaran . Here are the steps to follow:

1. Approach the dock or mooring area carefully, considering wind and current conditions.

2. Assign crew members to handle lines and fenders for a smooth docking process.

3. Use fenders to protect the hulls of the catamaran during mooring and docking safely.

4. First , secure the bow line to prevent the catamaran from drifting away.

5. Attach the stern lines after securing the bow line to ensure mooring and docking safely while keeping the catamaran aligned with the dock or mooring.

6. Communicate with the crew to ensure everyone knows their roles and responsibilities during mooring and docking safely.

7. When leaving the dock or mooring area, untie the lines in reverse order, starting with the stern lines and finishing with the bow line.

Suggestions for mooring and docking safely include:

– Practice docking and maneuvering in different conditions to improve skills.

– Consider using spring lines to control the catamaran’s movement while mooring and docking safely.

– Be mindful of nearby boats, obstacles, and other watercraft to avoid collisions.

– Invest in high-quality lines, fenders, and docking equipment for stability and safety.

– Stay updated with local boating regulations and guidelines for mooring and docking safely in specific areas.

Remember, practicing and having a well-prepared crew can make a significant difference when it comes to mooring and docking safely with a catamaran.

Emergency Preparedness

When catamaran sailing, emergency preparedness is crucial for everyone’s safety. Here are some essential tips for handling emergencies on a catamaran:

  • Always have a well-stocked first aid kit on board, including bandages , antiseptic ointments , and seasickness medication .
  • Have a reliable communication device , like a VHF radio or satellite phone , to call for help in emergencies .
  • Practice regular safety drills with your crew to familiarize them with emergency procedures , including man overboard drills and fire drills .
  • Understand basic navigation techniques and be prepared to use navigational aids, such as GPS or charts , in case of equipment failure .
  • Carry extra safety equipment, like life jackets , flares , and a life raft , for rough weather or if the boat becomes disabled.
  • Keep a strong anchor and anchor line on board to use in case of engine failure or other emergencies that require quick anchoring.
  • Stay updated on weather conditions and be prepared to change course or seek shelter if severe weather is forecasted.
  • Foster good communication and teamwork among your crew to ensure a coordinated response to emergencies and to maintain calm in stressful situations.

By prioritizing emergency preparedness and taking necessary precautions, you can enjoy a safe and enjoyable catamaran sailing experience.

Some Facts About How To Sail A Catamaran:

GetYourGuide Review [2024]: When to Use & When to Avoid It

* This article contains affiliate links, which help run this site at no extra cost to you.

TL:DR: After using GetYourGuide, we recommend it if you’re looking for reliable walking tours, guided hikes, and cultural experiences. Here are a few key takeaways from our GetYourGuide review:

  • It’s a legitimate and reliable site for easily booking tours worldwide from your computer or the mobile app.
  • There is a huge variety of tours available in popular destinations, especially Europe. It can help you do everything from making macaroons in Paris, to snorkeling with sea turtles in the Pacific Ocean, or touring Alcatraz in San Francisco.
  • Pricing is competitive but extra fees can sometimes apply—as with anything, read the entire tour description.
  • Customer service provides flexibility with the 24 hour cancellation policy and assistance as needed.

Tours can make or break your vacation. I know it does for me. That’s why it’s essential to know if the guided tour you’re going on is good.

GetYourGuide is one of my go-to tour booking sites because of its easy booking process and reliability.

GetYourGuide works with local guides to give you the best experience possible without taking advantage of the community you’re visiting.

I’ve often used GetYourGuide in places like Europe and the United States. I did my travel planning quickly because of the many tours and activities available.

Read my GetYourGuide review and add another tool to your toolbox when planning the vacation of a lifetime.

A pair of hands typing on a keyboard in front of a computer monitor displaying the GetYourGuide website homepage.

Table of Contents

What is GetYourGuide?

A screenshot of the GetYourGuide website 'about' page, which displays. a photo of a woman kayaking.

GetYourGuide is an online tour operator that organizes activities with local travel companies.

You can purchase everything from skip-the-line tickets to a private tour to guided hikes.

GetYourGuide began when a handful of classmates started the website in 2009. They were determined to change the travel game forever.

The idea originated from a trip that Johannes and Tao–two of the founders–took to Beijing.

Johannes arrived a day early, and Tao wasn’t there to show him around.

The two friends recognized a universal issue: Travelers arrive at new dream destinations but don’t know where to begin.

I like GetYourGuide because their website makes it easier for me to start planning a trip.

By searching through their database, I can find everything from unique tours to the top tours and activities worldwide.

How Does GetYourGuide Work?

A screenshot of the 'Cultural Experiences' page on the GetYourGuide website.

Search Desired Location

Most travelers use Get Your Guide to search for guides at their predetermined destination.

In this case, it’s easy to type in the desired location at the top of the Get Your Guide web page.

Several tours pop up after searching for the destination.

Tours with the highest reviews rank highest. From here, I use the filter options that Get Your Guide offers.

If I can’t find a tour from the main search, I select filters like:

  • For first-time visitors
  • Landmarks & monuments
  • Entry tickets
  • Family-friendly activities
  • Culture & History
  • Guided tours
  • Viewing points

I often find opportunities I hadn’t thought of, like sandboarding or kayaking through caves.

Choose Your Ideal Tour

Choosing the ideal tour can be difficult, especially with so many options. Keep in mind that the Best-Seller certificate indicates the highest quality tours.

Read the tour description thoroughly, as that’ll give you a clear understanding of what the tour offers.

After finding the perfect tour, fill out the information like name, email, and credit card details.

I could pay for my tour with PayPal, Google Pay, Apple Pay, or a credit card. And there aren’t any hidden fees or booking fees when you book tickets on GetYourGuide.

Once the payment is complete, you’ll receive a confirmation email with all the details for your tour.

That’s it! Booking your own guided tour is that easy.

Pro tip: Visit the promo code webpage and enter your email to receive a one-time GetYourGuide promo code. The code gives 10% off on some tours.

Meet Your Tour Guide at the Specified Location

After purchasing my tour, I received an email stating the meeting point to join the tour company.

Sometimes, the tour operators ask for the local address of your hotel, Airbnb, or hostel.

When I visited Rainbow Mountain in Peru, we sent them our local address and photos of our passports.

Some tour guides offer to pick you up, and others specify a meeting place (or multiple meeting points).

Booking tours through GetYourGuide is simple, but sometimes, the local agency is unclear about the meeting point.

I suggest contacting the tour provider if you’re unsure about the meeting point.

GetYourGuide Review: My Experience With Using GetYourGuide

A hand holds an iPhone, looking at the GetYourGuide app, with a soft-focus living room in the background.

Public and Private Tours

Most activities through GetYourGuide are public, but there are some private tours.

I prefer booking a private tour when I know I want to be in a small group.

For me, activities in nature–like guided hikes–are more peaceful in smaller groups.

I use the filters to narrow my search to private tours by clicking See More Categories, then Private Tours.

Using the filters on the Get Your Guide website cuts my results in half, sometimes more. From there, it’s easier to find tickets.

Day Trips and Multi-day Trips

Most of the tours I find through Get Your Guide are day trips. Still, there are tons of shorter or longer experiences.

While researching Peru, I used the Duration filter to see 12 pages of cooking classes, sunset excursions, and viewpoint tickets.

The shorter guided experiences help enrich long days. While planning a day trip, I’ll check out the city tours and popular activities.

Get Your Guide also offers multi-day trips, like the Salkantay Trek in Peru. I wanted to do this hike, but it was a significant investment.

While I’m sure that booking multi-day trips through Get Your Guide is fine, my travel companions and I still felt more comfortable booking extensive tours with local companies in town.

Plus, I’ve learned that I can usually save money by booking locally because of the currency exchange.

Self-Guided Tours

GetYourGuide also offers self-guided tours that you can download onto your phone and listen to at any time.

These tours come in audio and visual form. I haven’t purchased any of the self-guided tours yet, but I’ve noticed a few things.

On the GetYourGuide website, I suggest searching for “audio tour [location name]” instead of “self-guided tour.” They’re listed as “Other Experience,” which meant I had to click on the tours to check that they were in fact, audio or visual tours.

I actually found it just as productive to Google phrases like “GetYourGuide audio tour Italy.”

It’s also inconvenient to download the tours since they aren’t all housed on the official GetYourGuide app. The tours are created by different agencies that have their own apps.

You’ll download the app ahead of time and then receive a link to access the tour. Most tours can be refunded as long as they’re “returned” ahead of time and not activated.

Despite being clunky, I did find a lot of unique tours. My favorites were the Paris History of Crime Tour and a complete package of US National Park tours .

Transportation through GetYourGuide

Not all travel booking sites offer transportation services. Get Your Guide works with local drivers to pick you up from your accommodation and take you to the airport.

Airport shuttles are available with a one-way or round-trip ticket.

I first started looking into transportation services through the GetYourGuide website because I’m planning a trip to Mendoza, Argentina.

Booking a ride this way is surprisingly convenient and cheap, even for budget travelers.

Tickets to Attractions through GetYourGuide

Get Your Guide is the perfect platform to use for European sightseeing.

For example, Florence is one of the most popular places in the world to travel to and one of my favorite cities.

Florence is chock-full of sightseeing, and it’s easy to book tours through Get Your Guide.

Just like filtering for specific durations, I filter based on my interests.

The homepage of Get Your Guide has four main categories: Sports, Culture, Food, and Nature.

You can manually select more specific activities by typing them into the search bar or choosing the “Filters” button once you decide on a travel destination.

I love these features because booking an architecture-focused day trip to Pisa one day and a walking tour of Siena the next was easy.

The advantage of touring with a local provider is that they know the ins and outs of their city.

GetYourGuide App

I love booking tickets directly on the app when on a long bus ride or in the car.

When I find tours and activities, I can save them to my wishlist.

Then, I’ll book tours on the guide app or my computer once I return to my Airbnb .

I stay logged into my GetYourGuide account on the website and the app. This way, my wishlist is available on my phone and computer.

Finding the same tour and tour operators on either device is a matter of clicks.

Plus, anytime I have a travel-related conversation, it’s easy to open my phone and bring up some of my top bucket list activities.

DOWNLOAD THE GETYOURGUIDE APP HERE:

Skip the Line Tickets

Sometimes, I’m not feeling a tour, but there’s still a sight I need to see. Skip-the-line tickets are the perfect way to see a popular attraction without waiting long.

The line to see Michelangelo’s David is horrible, but buying my entrance ticket beforehand means more time to explore the city. . . and more time to enjoy wine in the evening.

Unfortunately, sometimes there’s a booking fee for these sorts of tickets.

But sometimes it’s worth the extra booking fees to receive the ticket before others.

Price Guarantee

GetYourGuide offers a price guarantee , which ensures you won’t pay more on their official site than you would through other tour companies.

One time, I booked a tour in Italy and found the same activity for cheaper elsewhere. I contacted Get Your Guide, and they paid the difference!

Before you do this, make sure each tour includes the same things. It pays to compare prices!

A view of the shoulder of a man whose hands are typing on a keyboard in front of a computer monitor displaying the GetYourGuide website homepage with experiences for San Francisco.

Easy to Use

More than anything else, I love the easy interface of GetYourGuid’s website and app. They take what can be a confusing process and make it simple.

GetYourGuide makes finding activities that everyone will enjoy simple, and I can buy tickets within seconds.

Other travel booking sites don’t always make this process easy. I respect GetYourGuide for prioritizing that.

Great Cancellation Policy

I may be jumping ahead here, but it must be said. GetYourGuide has a worry-free cancellation policy .

I’ll go into more detail later, but the most crucial feature is free cancellation within 24 hours of the tours and activities.

Large Selection of Tours in Popular Destinations

If GetYourGuide didn’t have a large selection of tours, we might not have had this conversation.

But there are many different tours in places like North America, Europe, and Australia.

It’s also nice knowing that local companies are getting paid, too, and it’s not bad for the local economy.

Other travelers will agree that it’s fun daydreaming about travel by looking up tours with a local company.

A computer monitor sits on a white desk, displaying the GetYourGuide website homepage with experiences for San Francisco.

Very Few Tours in Some Parts of the World

It’s a bummer that GetYourGuide doesn’t have as many tours in South America and Central America.

I love the rugged travel style of these places, but sometimes I want to do a couple of tours before setting out on the less-trodden path.

GetYourGuide offers tours to trendy places like Machu Picchu. It skips some of the less flashy destinations, like tours around a town or small hikes.

One of my favorite Central American countries, Guatemala, has very few tours to choose from. I was there for two months and never opened the app.

Not Many Nature Tours

Now, this is changing for the better, but I want more adventure activities to choose between.

Sometimes, when I go to a new city, I want to see what the suburbs are like and what adventures await outside the city limits.

Simple tours of little-known locations aren’t as popular because many tourists visit to see the big attractions.

GetYourGuide Cancellation & Exchange Policy

A view of the shoulder of a man whose hands are typing on a keyboard in front of a computer monitor displaying the GetYourGuide website homepage.

Things come up that we have no control over. That’s why booking tours with a good cancellation policy is essential.

GetYourGuide offers free cancellation for their own tours and activities within 24 hours.

An issue arose while traveling through Europe, so I canceled one of our GetYourGuide tours. I received a full refund, no questions asked!

Be sure to read the fine print of every tour that you book. There could be different rules for each activity.

The cancelation process itself is easy. You go to the Help Center and follow the instructions for Cancellation. The form asks for your booking reference and pin.

There’s less risk when you buy tours that you can cancel so easily.

FAQs About GetYourGuide

A hand points to a spot on a globe sitting on a white desk in front of a computer monitor displaying the GetYourGuide website homepage

Is GetYourGuide legit?

GetYourGuide is legit and a great way to find some of the best activities worldwide!

Countries that don’t have many GetYourGuide options might seem less legit because of the lack of GetYourGuide reviews. I suggest finding activities with many good reviews.

Who is GetYourGuide owned by?

Four former classmates in Switzerland started and own GetYourGuide. Those four are Tao Tao, Martin Sieber, Johannes Reck & Tobias Rein.

Their goal was to create a platform where everyone could find the best activities worldwide, all in one place. Safe to say they achieved this.

Is GetYourGuide the same as Viator?

GetYourGuide is the same concept as Viator , but two different groups of people own them. TripAdvisor , the popular online travel forum company, owns Viator.

Which is better, Viator or GetYourGuide?

Viator and GetYourGuide are fantastic sites that help thousands of travelers find things to do in a specific destination. With that said, both of these are better for different areas.

Viator is better in the United States, while GetYourGuide has many activities in Canada/Europe.

What does “Certified by GetYourGuide” mean?

Choosing an activity with the golden “Certified by GetYourGuide” on the page means it’s a proven quality activity. When I book a tour with this, I have no worries.

If I have to choose between a tour with or without the golden certificate, I always choose the one with it.

The last thing I want to worry about on vacation is whether or not I booked a good tour.

Which countries should I use GetYourGuide in?

GetYourGuide is a good service for booking your tour in the most popular destinations worldwide.

I’ve had good luck with GetYourGuide in Europe, Canada, Dubai, Australia, and even many countries in Southeast Asia!

There are some spots you should keep your expectations low for.

Latin America is a part of the world that doesn’t have many activities available. Even so, I found quality activities with local guides in places like Cusco and Medellin.

Conclusion: So, is GetYourGuide worth it?

A hand holds an iPhone, looking at the GetYourGuide app, with a soft-focus living room in the background.

I always use GetYourGuide when researching things to do in a new location. This site is valuable and worth your time.

I think it’s the most reliable 3rd party tour site today. I love how they work with locals and aren’t trying to detract from the country’s economy.

If you’re going to Europe this summer, check out the GetYourGuide hotel pickup and all the necessary information for the best day.

I wish Latin American countries had more GetYourGuide opportunities, but I know that time is coming.

My experience with their guides, website, and customer service has been top-notch. Of course, though, just like every other company, you can find GetYourGuide complaints.

Planning the perfect trip is hard. GetYourGuide has opportunities for all of my fellow travelers. From multi-day activities to workshops/classes, GetYourGuide has it all.

Whenever I start my research for my next vacation, I go to GetYourGuide–and I think you should, too!

Which Catamaran Cruise Should I Choose?

Whichever catamaran cruise you choose, you’ll have the time of your life! Their differences have to do mainly with whether you choose a Semi-Private (Shared) or a Private Cruise, the food and drinks offered on board the boats, the passenger capacity, the vessel’s size, and the point of departure.

  • - Semi-Private (Shared) or Private Cruise : If your plan is to spend some enjoyable moments as part of a group and share their energy, then a Semi-Private Catamaran Cruise would be the perfect match! For those wishing to add some privacy to their cruise, or who want to organize a special celebration on board, the best choice would be a Private Cruise for only them and their loved ones!
  • - Food : Buffet or BBQ meal, some of them include filet of fish, while others chicken filet or pork.
  • - Drinks : On all of the cruises you will be offered unlimited local wine and soft drinks, while some of them include beers, and others, cocktails.
  • - Passenger capacity : Fewer passengers means more comfort, but more passengers means more fun and a chance to meet new people - the choice is yours!
  • - Luxury catamarans are larger and more deluxe and thus offer more comfort.
  • - Departure port : If you stay in Oia or Imerovigli, it will be preferable to book a catamaran cruise that departs from Ammoudi port, as the travel distance with the operator’s pick-up vehicle is shorter. For people staying in the southern part of the island, the most convenient option would be a cruise departing from Vlychada port since it is the nearest port to that location.

Absolutely! Greece is one of the safest countries to swim in. You will be glad to know that sharks in the Aegean Sea ( usually from species such as dogfish)  are harmless, sightings are extremely rare while attacks are unheard of! In addition, the waves are usually small, especially inside the Caldera where most boat cruises make stops for swimming. So, based on the above, if you enjoy swimming, snorkeling, or even diving... you are in the right place!

Booked a Gonzales Byass sherry tour in Jerez with GYG. Extremely disappointed on arrival to be informed that the guide would conduct this in Spanish only. Looked back on previous reviews (should have done this sooner!) As far back as 2019 others have made same complaint.

Beyond Siem Reap

Our guide Jan was extremely knowledgeable and proactive. He tailored our experiences to what we were most interested in and always offered honest opinions. Our vehicle and driver were also top notch. For anyone looking to explore more than the standard Angkor temples, this is the perfect tour!

Worst company I know

Worst company I know concern to payback/refund. I'm waiting already 3 (!) months for my refund (cancelable option). Communication with them the same: It cannot be worse. Waitung weeks for an answer. They are obviously not able to make a bank transfer payment. Never ever!

Thank you for the Waterfall tour

Thank you for the Waterfall tour. We thoroughly enjoyed our day chasing waterfalls, visiting the coffee plantation and seeing the rice terraces where I even opted to ride the flying fox! But most of all thank you to our driver Oki, he was amazing, full off local knowledge, super friendly and very helpful. The day was made ten times better having Oki drive us around. Five stars all the way!

Makes it super easy to book!

Makes it super easy to book really great tours and activities. My complaints are that the company takes a very large chunk of the payment just for listing the activities, which seems steep. The other thing I dislike is that when activities are booked together, none can be changed after the first one's window closes.

Misleading product information

Bought tickets for Langkawi Sky Bridge, on arrival we were told these were malaysians only tickets. After checking this information was only available within the order screen. The main screen suggested that people from foreign countries did 'love this experience'. Didn't receive a refund after contacting them 4 times (every time they would come back to me, but did not). Check before ordering if the tickets are actually valid for you!

My husband and I had 24 hours in Paris…

My husband and I had 24 hours in Paris and made the most of our time by signing up for the Covered Streets of Paris Walking Tour. It wasn't our first time in Paris and we wanted to something different - this was it! Our guide, David, led our group through a section of Paris most visitors probably miss. His knowledge and engaging style made our experience that much more special. He even joined us for lunch at the end of the tour and gave us lots of tips for off-the-beaten-track things to look for on our walk back to the hotel. I highly recommend this tour and will use this company again during future trips to Paris

Wanted to visit the Anne Frank House and were very disappointed to discover that we were too late to get tickets (6 weeks in advance). Found this guided tour that included entrance to the museum. It was a little pricey, but Rasmus offered an insightful, caring, enthusiastic tour of the neighborhood which made the experience even more special.

Very smooth entry process to get into Vatican museum and obtain and return audio phones. Virtually no waiting required anywhere. Well worth the cost instead of waiting for hours in a lines that wraps around the Vatican wall along the streets.

Excellent service

I've used Get your guide over the years numerous times and are great value for money and the excursions are better than what the holiday companies offered. It is very easy to contact someone from get your guide if you have problems or need info.

My go to site for tours

Have booked around a dozen tours with GYG and can honestly say each and everyone has been excellent and the pricing competitive. They are my ‘go-to’ site for every holiday in the last few years and would not use anyone else.

Great trip planning tool

I've used the GYG app for 5 Europe trips, as well as a few stateside trips. It's easy to use, has great filters (ie: half or full day, 1-3 hours, price, etc.) Usually, I book in advance, occasionally last minute skip-the-line tickets. I've been pleased with each activity booked on the app. I've been able to easily cancel when needed, just pay attention to the cancellation date.

Used twice for 2 trips whilst on holiday. Easy to book. However details shown on the website for one of the tours was incorrect, don't know if that's the fault of GYG or the tour supplier, have mentioned on my review this needs updating so people know exactly what they are booking. Apart from that, no other complaints and I will use again in the future

Great Service For Entry Tickets

We've used GetYourGuide a couple of times to book tickets for museums, etc. before travelling to Spain & Amsterdam. Brilliant! Quick & easy entry & never had a problem. Would definitely book again via GYG.

Collloseum tour

Amazingly helpful and very good with messages saying where to meet and times etc ...mya our tour guide was fun and very informative....good value for money getting us down into arena and below into the lower level too ,plus over to the Roman Forum ...definitely recommend this .... 3 full hours of information

Great tours

The buses were on time and clean. The drivers and tour guides were friendly and shared a lot of information. We enjoyed both our trips, one to Rapperswil and Luzern, the other to Heidi-land and Liechtenstein. I can recommend this platform for booking tours.

🏆 OUR TOP PICK FOR A CATAMARAN DAY TRIP IN PUERTO RICO – Icacos Deserted Island Catamaran & Picnic Cruise

What to look for in a Catamaran Trip?

There are several things you need to check before finding your perfect catamaran trip. What is “perfect” for me, may be different than what is “perfect” for you.

  • Are you feeling social? Check to see if the tour is private (just your party) or a small group made up of different parties.
  • What is your budget? When shopping for catamaran tours, be sure and check the price. Specifically, check to see if the price is total, or per person. Enter the number of people you want to bring and see what the price is.
  • How much time do you have? Are you in Puerto Rico for 4 days ? Do you have only a few hours as a cruise stop? Make sure the tour you are looking at correlates with the time you have allotted.
  • Where are you? Check the details of the tour to see if the departure point is near where you will be staying.
  • What kind of vibe do you want? Are you looking for a party boat? A luxurious or romantic dinner? Do you want to swim? Check the details to make sure there are no unwelcome surprises on the day of your catamaran trip.
  • Read the reviews. I always read reviews before making a decision. Keep in mind, you can’t please everyone, so there will usually be at least one negative review for the tour operators. Don’t let one review discourage you, but instead, read through a few reviews and notice any patterns. If one subject comes up consistently, it is likely accurate.

What to pack on a Catamaran Day Trip in Puerto Rico

Now that you have decided which catamaran trip to book, you’ll need to know what to bring with you! Never fear, I’ve got you covered.

🤿 MASK AND SNORKEL

Most of these tours include snorkeling equipment, and that is totally fine to use theirs if you wish. However, if you want to bring your own for sanitary reasons, or to ensure they fit the way you like, you can do that too!

This mask and snorkel set is very popular, my kids love this one. I prefer this mask and snorkel combo with a GoPro attachment. I love how it frees up both hands while snorkeling!

q? encoding=UTF8&ASIN=B092DM7SG1&Format= SL250 &ID=AsinImage&MarketPlace=US&ServiceVersion=20070822&WS=1&tag=ckincy 20&language=en US

➡️ Shop Snorkel Masks

📱 Waterproof Phone Holder

Even though a lot of cell phones are water resistant, salt water can damage them. If you are wanting to take photos from the catamaran or while snorkeling get one of these inexpensive phone holders .

q? encoding=UTF8&ASIN=B09PBB9MJQ&Format= SL250 &ID=AsinImage&MarketPlace=US&ServiceVersion=20070822&WS=1&tag=ckincy 20&language=en US

➡️ Shop Waterproof Phone Holders Now

📸 Waterproof Camera

A cell phone can take pretty good photos, but if you want to snorkel and get incredible videos of tropical fish, bring a GoPro ! My GoPro is a must on all snorkeling trips! I even took it with me to swim with sharks in the Bahamas.

q? encoding=UTF8&ASIN=B0B96H7LGX&Format= SL250 &ID=AsinImage&MarketPlace=US&ServiceVersion=20070822&WS=1&tag=ckincy 20&language=en US

➡️ Check out GoPros Here

🏝 Fast Drying Towel

One of the best things to bring on your catamaran trip is a lightweight and fast drying towel . These don’t take up much room in your bag and will be a great item to have for the ride back to land.

q? encoding=UTF8&ASIN=B07VVNJMRG&Format= SL250 &ID=AsinImage&MarketPlace=US&ServiceVersion=20070822&WS=1&tag=ckincy 20&language=en US

➡️ Purchase a Light Weight Fast Drying Towel

☀️ Reef Safe Sunscreen

If you are heading anywhere in the Caribbean you definitely need sunscreen. Be sure to only wear reef-safe sunscreen to help protect the reefs and marine life. I love this combo because it comes with an after-sun gel too! Don’t forget chapstick with SPF protection!

q? encoding=UTF8&ASIN=B07BJBP7JN&Format= SL250 &ID=AsinImage&MarketPlace=US&ServiceVersion=20070822&WS=1&tag=ckincy 20&language=en US

➡️ Buy Reef Safe Sunscreen and Chapstick Here

👙Rash Guard or SwimSuit

Of course, you will need a swimsuit if you planning on spending the day on the water. Another good thing to think about is purchasing a rash guard . This can be in place of your swim suit, or over the top. Rash guards are lightweight, dry quickly, and help protect you from sunburn. This limits the amount of sunscreen you need to put on as well!

q? encoding=UTF8&ASIN=B08ZCMVV7C&Format= SL160 &ID=AsinImage&MarketPlace=US&ServiceVersion=20070822&WS=1&tag=ckincy 20&language=en US

➡️ Purchase a Rashguard for Men or Women by Clicking Here

🧢 Hat

Grab a hat to help keep the sun off your face, but also to control your hair after being in the water and wind! This one is super cute, or this one may be more your style.

q? encoding=UTF8&ASIN=B079NC3YK4&Format= SL250 &ID=AsinImage&MarketPlace=US&ServiceVersion=20070822&WS=1&tag=ckincy 20&language=en US

➡️ Check this hat out , or this one instead

🎒Beach Bag

Grab a cute beach bag to carry all of your things on to the catamaran and beach! I like to bring a pretty large bag , and that way I can keep everything in it and have room for a few souvenirs too!

q? encoding=UTF8&ASIN=B09QBZY38F&Format= SL250 &ID=AsinImage&MarketPlace=US&ServiceVersion=20070822&WS=1&tag=ckincy 20&language=en US

➡️ Click Here to Buy a Beach Bag

🏖 Floaties

Some tours provide floats or tubes to get in the water with, but you cant guarantee they will have enough for everyone or they will be one you like. I know a float isn’t something most people get excited about but let me tell you how OBSESSED I am with these floaties !

They pack up so small, weigh nothing, are easy to inflate, and are so comfortable in the water. They are a must for me when making my Caribbean packing list !

q? encoding=UTF8&ASIN=B073WMLBGP&Format= SL250 &ID=AsinImage&MarketPlace=US&ServiceVersion=20070822&WS=1&tag=ckincy 20&language=en US

Guide to Catamaran Cruises

A catamaran cruise in cancun is a wonderful way to explore some of nature’s greatest creations..

Guide to Catamaran Cruises

Catamaran cruises are like a private, serene and luxurious version of a cruise. Instead of getting caught up in the hustle and bustle of an oversized ocean liner with restrictive schedules and shared spaces, a catamaran offers an entirely unique sense of freedom and self-direction.

Our Cancun Adventures’ captains love to show our guests an up close and personal version of the sea via our yacht and sailboat charters. While on these personalized tours, you will get to see different parts of nearby islands, snorkel some of the world’s best-loved reefs and enjoy a gourmet lunch.

Learn more about this wonderful way to explore some of nature’s greatest creations and book your private catamaran tour today!

What is a Catamaran?

A catamaran is an oversized sailboat that offers a unique level of comfort due to its structure, which contains two hulls rather than one. This design keeps the boat balanced while navigating the sea, so you can unwind without clinging to your drink over every single wave.

What’s more, catamarans range in size and, with Cancun Adventures, you can choose from the 410 Catamaran Lagoon or the 440 Catamaran Leopard. Depending on which size of catamaran you choose to charter, you will have access to various deck layouts and private spaces where you can suntan, grab drinks from the bar and enjoy an island-inspired meal.

Another advantage of the catamaran is that they have shallow hulls, which means you can anchor practically anywhere and explore beaches and islands that would otherwise be off limits on a boat tour. This makes the catamaran ideal for tourists who want to discover some of the truly spectacular hidden gems throughout the Cancun region.

What is a Catamaran?

Tips for your catamaran tour

  • Pack light Use a soft-sided bag to pack only the essentials when you are boarding a catamaran cruise. A swimsuit, towel, a change of clothes, sunglasses and a hat should be the only things you need when chartering a catamaran trip with Cancun Adventures.
  • Wear sun protection While sailing on a catamaran may feel breezy, the sun’s rays (and its reflection off the water) remains strong. We recommend wearing sun protective clothing. Sunscreen (even the biodegradable kind) contains chemicals and/or oils that can damage the reef sea life and fragile ecosystem.
  • Waterproof belongings As you will be surrounded by the beautiful ocean on your catamaran tour, it is recommended to safeguard your personal belongings. Electronics (phones, etc.) and any essential documents should be placed in waterproof cases or plastic bags.

Celebrate, relax & indulge on your private catamaran tour

Whether you want to have a romantic evening on the sea with just you and your partner or celebrate extravagantly with your closest friends, our catamaran tours are the way to do it. Whether you want to sail around Isla Mujeres or Riviera Maya , our tour guides will work with you to custom build an itinerary of private excursions. Under the bright sunshine or while sailing towards the sunset, days of adventure and indulgence await you via our Cancun Adventures Catamaran tours.

GetYourGuide Review [2024]: Are they legit? My thoughts

GetYourGuide Review [2024]: Are they legit? My thoughts

GetYourGuide sets out to help travelers find highly rated tours and itineraries to popular destinations around the world. But is it legit, and does it hold up to its claims? I checked them out to find out. Explore my review and avoid booking until you find out what I know.

catamarano get your guide

They say you don’t get rich by earning, but by traveling. The world is like a round canvas that serves you with colorful stories. The story changes at every turn, with unknown alleys, changing faces, and shifting cultures.

However, I find it all looks dreamy until reality hits you with the complicated planning of trips. Most of us give up on the idea of a trip because searching for all the details, including accommodations, tour guides, and transportation, is very stressful.

That’s when I turned to a travel agency that would guide me on what to see and how to see the place the best. The Pilot team has reviewed similar services like G Adventures and Viator , but how about GetYourGuide?

That's what I'm getting into today!

GetYourGuide gives you the right kind of travel experience with its efficient touring solutions considering your needs. Here is my GetYourGuide review to help you choose the unmissable things in your travel destination. I'll talk about what I like and what I don't like about GetYourGuide.

Let's get into it...

GetYourGuide Logo

What Is GetYourGuide?

GetYourGuide is an online tour-organizing company that thrives globally and operates from Germany. It stepped into the scene in 2009 with 4 enthusiastic classmates Johannes Reck, Tao Tao, Tobias Rein, and Martin Sieber.

The squad started off as local guides and, within a decade, expanded to what the company is now.

You can reach out to GetYourGuide through its official website or mobile app for Android and iOS. You can check the right time to travel to your favorite destination, what are the fun things to see, and what places you cannot miss. GetYourGuide has you covered.

The company also serves you with mobile ticketing, discounts, and offers on flight bookings, hotel bookings, and an easy cancellation process.

How Does GetYourGuide Work?

Now you might ask how do I join my guide via GetYourGuide or how it works. Well, I found it works in a pretty simplified manner:

  • Check if your desired destination is in the places where GetYourGuide has its services.
  • Register through their website or download the GetYourGuide app.
  • Specify your travel destination and dates. Also, enter other specifications, like your interests and what kind of places you wish to visit. Remember that GetYourGuide offers simplified filter options like activities, cuisines, outdoors, local sightseeing, nightlife, rentals, etc. You can choose according to your preference.
  • Book your activities in advance by selecting from their list.
  • Go to checkout, where you must fill in your name, email ID, and credit card details. You'll also enter any GetYourGuide coupon and GetYourGuide promo code to get fun discounts.

What Destinations Does GetYourGuide Cover?

GetYourGuide covers pretty much all the top destinations in the world. This includes places like New York City in the States, Bali in Indonesia, and Paris in France.

I've highlighted a few of the popular countries here:

  • From North America , GetYourGuide covers: United States, Mexico, Canada, Bahamas, Jamaica, Panama.
  • From South America , GetYourGuide covers: Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Columbia, Ecuador
  • From Europe , GetYourGuide covers: Italy, Germany, Poland, France, Russia, United Kingdom
  • From Africa , GetYourGuide covers: South Africa, Egypt, Morocco, Kenya, Ghana, Zimbabwe
  • From Asia , GetYourGuide covers: Japan, India, China, Qatar, Singapore, United Arab Emirates
  • From Oceania , GetYourGuide covers: Australia, New Zealand, New Caledonia, Samoa, Fiji.

What's Great About GetYourGuide

So I enjoy that GetYourGuide touts comprehensive features with additional perks and benefits. Here are just a few points to showcase the benefits:

  • A Wide Range of Activities : GetYourGuide includes more than 50,000 tours and activities worldwide. It also provides attraction tickets, city tours, food and cultural experiences, and many more. There's always something to do.
  • User-Friendly Interface : GetYourGuide makes your booking experience so much more enjoyable. It takes me no time to find and book tours with a user-friendly and streamlined interface.
  • Check the Customer Reviews : I'm the type of person that needs to know what the reviews say. These reviews help me understand people's previous experiences with bookings and activity tours.
  • Get the Tickets on Your Mobile : Once you book your tickets, you can directly get them on your mobile instead of getting your tickets printed. Paper-free, baby!
  • No Booking Fee : I love this! You have to pay the cost of your tours and activities, but that's it. GetYourGuide doesn’t charge any booking fees.
  • Free Cancellation : If you change your plan, GetYourGuide offers free cancellation without any hustle. But the offer is valid up to 24 hours before the event, so you still have to be on your best planning behavior.

What’s Not So Great About GetYourGuide

I've talked about what's excellent about GetYourGuide, but nothing's without flaws. I've combed through GetYourGuide reviews, so you wouldn't have to.

Let's discuss some of the problems with GetYourGuide.

  • One Location and Multiple Tours : GetYourGuide can showcase one tourist attraction multiple times. It happens mainly because various suppliers offer various touring options and prices for one tourist attraction. Even though it’s a good thing because you can choose from multiple options, it can also confuse people.
  • Confusion in Meeting Point : Sometimes, the meeting point can get confusing. However, it's not GetYourGuide’s fault since the tour organizer didn’t explain the description correctly.
  • Many Options for Tours and Sights : Since GetYourGuide offers multiple tours and activities for any city, people often get confused. For people who only want to do the must-do things, GetYourGuide is not a suitable option.
  • Not Useful for Asian Tours and Sightseeing : GetYourGuide works fine for European sightseeing. But for Asian tours and activities, it's not that useful. It happens mainly because, unlike most Asian tours, European tours require pre-booking.

GetYourGuide Reviews

As I mentioned earlier, I have to know what those reviews say. So, what exactly are people saying about GetYourGuide?

There are many mixed reviews online about the company, ranging from a horrible experience on Tripadvisor to one of the best tour companies around. Great, a mixed bag, haha.

Let's talk about the bad stuff first. Previous customers who had a poor experience with GetYourGuide recommend reading all of the fine print before booking. Others have commented that scheduled tours are canceled at the last minute, which would surely spoil your trip.

Hasn't been my experience, but I agree this would be a big bummer for my trip.

However, most of the reviews on Trustpilot tend to skew positive as reviewers mention how knowledgeable and professional the local experts at GetYourGuide are.

What's also great is how easy it is to book tours with banging deals and no hidden fees. People also seem to be rather content with the customer service, mentioning that GetYourGuide is reliable.

Is GetYourGuide Legit?

That would be most peoples' biggest concern, and it was also my first question... "Is GetYourGuide Legit?"

The short answer is yes , GetYourGuide is definitely legit! You're getting experts that know what they're talking about and decent transparency about the operation.

Is GetYourGuide Worth It?

This is the most challenging question to answer because each traveler is unique. If you're headed to Europe, I've found GetYourGuide to be worthwhile.

While its range of activities, zero booking fees, and operation in many countries, the company provides an excellent incentive for budget travelers. That being said, if cost isn't an option, it may be worth more research into local companies.

Certainly, I recommend you exercise caution and read the terms and conditions before you book the tickets. GetYourGuide specifies that it holds no liability for any third-party errors.

Also, if the tour description is confusing, turn around! The reviews show that these have underwhelmed many travelers.

Remember, each booking requires your valid email ID and proper credit card information. You must fulfill their age criteria of 18 years and above.

Generally, the legitimacy of GetYourGuide is entirely dependent on individual experiences and activities. Absolutely, worth a try if you find something that sounds amazing.

My Rating: 3.7/5

  • Free, flexible cancellation policy
  • Variety of activities
  • No booking fees
  • Mobile-friendly tickets
  • Numerous poorly described tours
  • Great only in European Countries
  • Confusing tour logistics

General GetYourGuide FAQs

Does getyourguide offer price guarantee.

Yes! In their commitment to ensuring you always get the best value for your money, GetYourGuide has a Best Price Matching policy.

Have you found the exact same activity you've booked via GetYourGuide on another online platform for a lower price? Well, you're in for a treat!

GetYourGuide will refund the difference between what you paid and the lower price you found, provided that certain conditions are met. The conditions you must meet are as follows:

  • The activity needs to be identical in terms of conditions, like the date, city, and number of participants.
  • The services offered in the activity must be the same.
  • It should be bookable with the same supplier.

To take advantage of this fantastic offer, you only need to send GetYourGuide the link or a screenshot of the cheaper offer. After they verify that the offer is cheaper, the customer service team will refund the difference, which could even be in the form of a voucher.

It's important to note that offers that are part of loyalty or trust programs aren't eligible for this price match. Keep an eye out for special deals and discount promotions from GetYourGuide, which are always clearly marked.

Is This Platform Good for Last Minute Tickets?

Yes, GetYourGuide can be a good platform for booking last-minute tickets. Many tours and activities offer availability up to the last minute.

Please note that this can vary based on the specific kind of tour or activity, and availability can change quickly.

Can I Change My Booking?

Changes to your booking can often be made, but it depends on the specific terms and conditions of the tour or activity you've booked.

What Happens If the Operator Cancels a Tour or Activity I've Booked?

If the operator cancels a tour or activity, GetYourGuide will typically offer a full refund or try to reschedule your booking, depending on your preference.

How Will I Receive My Tickets?

After booking with GetYourGuide, you'll typically receive a confirmation email with a voucher or ticket that you can print or show on your mobile device.

What Should I Do if I Have Issues With a Tour or Activity I booked Through GetYourGuide?

If you have any problems with a booking, you should contact GetYourGuide's customer service. They can help resolve issues or answer any questions you have.

What Are Alternatives to GetYourGuide?

There are many other platforms offering similar services to GetYourGuide. Some of the popular ones include Viator, Klook, Expedia, and Airbnb Experiences.

How to Measure Your Foot to Find the Right Shoe Size

Buying guide.

Follow these simple instructions to measure your feet — then check out Nike size guides to determine which shoe size is best for you.

How to Measure Your Foot to Find the Right Shoe Size

Whether you’re looking for high-performance athletic footwear or casual, everyday kicks , it’s important to wear well-fitting shoes that comfortably support your feet. Shoes that don’t fit properly can leave your feet feeling uncomfortable, achey or blistered . And unfortunately, wearing the wrong size shoe is more common than you might think.

A 2018 study from the Journal of Foot and Ankle Research found that up to two-thirds of people may be wearing shoes that fit improperly, and that wearing the wrong size is associated with foot pain and poorer foot health overall.

So, how do you know if you’re wearing the right shoe size? Finding the correct shoe size starts with accurately measuring your feet. Read on to learn how to measure your foot size and how to find your shoe size in Nike footwear. Plus, check out additional tips for picking out comfortable, supportive shoes that meet your needs.

(Related: 8 Ideas for Storing Shoes )

How to Measure Foot Size

  • For the most accurate measurement, it’s best to measure your feet at the end of the day. Feet tend to swell throughout the day and may have a slightly larger measurement in the evening than in the morning.
  • Before measuring, put on the same pair of socks you plan to wear with the shoes.
  • Tape a piece of paper to a hard floor, ensuring the paper doesn’t slip.
  • Stand with one foot on the paper and a slight bend in your knees. You can also sit in a chair, but make sure your feet are firmly planted on the ground.
  • With a pen or pencil pointed straight down, trace the outline of your foot on the paper. If possible, ask another person to help you with this step. That way, you can keep your feet still and capture the most accurate measurement.
  • Repeat the process with the other foot. It’s common for a person’s feet to be two slightly different sizes.
  • Mark the tip of the big toe and the outermost part of the heel, and use a ruler or measuring tape to measure the distance between the two points. This measurement represents the length of your feet. (For the most precise measurement, consider using a ruler with centimeters, rather than inches.) Note: Nike shoe sizes are based on foot length. If you find that a standard-size shoe feels too narrow on your foot, you may want to explore wide or extra-wide styles. There are several Nike shoe icons that are made in wide and extra-wide fits, including the Nike Pegasus and the Nike Monarch .
  • If your feet are two different sizes, use the foot measurements of the larger foot when comparing your measurements against a size chart.

How to Find Your Shoe Size

Now that you’ve measured your foot size, compare the measurements against a Nike size chart to find the best shoe size for you.

While other shoe brands may use similar size scales, it’s best to check out a shoe brand’s size charts before purchasing a new pair of shoes from them, as each brand’s exact approach to size and fit may vary.

Men's Shoes

Women's shoes.

How to Measure Your Foot to Find the Right Shoe Size

These charts reflect U.S. footwear sizes. For conversions in other markets, check out the Nike size charts below.

What’s the Difference Between Men’s and Women’s Shoe Size?

Generally speaking, there is a 1.5 size difference between men's and women's shoes at Nike. For example, if you're a size 8 in women's shoes, you're likely a size 6.5 in men's shoes. Some footwear styles are offered in unisex sizing, however, so be sure to double check the product details before purchasing a new pair.

4 Signs You May Be Wearing the Wrong Shoe Size

When a shoe fits correctly, you should be able to perform your desired movement — be it walking, running or playing a sport — with comfort and confidence in your feet. That said, there are a handful of telltale signs to look out for if you suspect you’re wearing wrong shoe size, including:

  • The toe box is too tight. If a shoe is too small, you might experience pinching or irritation on the edge of your big toe or pinky toe.
  • Your heels or ankles feel irritated. If a shoe collar is too high, for example, you might experience redness or blisters on your ankle bone (indicating a too-large fit).
  • The shoe’s arch is in the wrong place. If the shoe is too big, the arch might land too close to your heel. In a shoe too small, it might land too close to the ball of your foot.
  • Your heel slips out while walking. In a shoe that is too big, this might happen even when the laces are tied tight.

Tip: When trying on a pair of Nike shoes to assess the fit, be sure to mimic whatever movement you intend to perform in them. For example, if you’re shopping for running shoes, consider testing how they feel by taking a quick jog around the block while wearing them. If you’d like expert tips and advice from a Nike teammate, head to your local Nike store to try on different styles in person.

3 Tips to Help Kids Find the Right Shoe Size

When finding new shoes for a child, or understanding when it’s time to discard a previous pair, caregivers may need to do some detective work, as children aren’t always able to articulate certain nuances related to fit.

(Related: The Best Nike Shoes for Back to School )

Try these tips to ensure a kid’s footwear is the proper size:

  • Ask the child to stand in the shoes, then feel for the tip of their toe in relation to the tip of the shoe. There should be enough room for you to place the tip of your finger in that space. If there’s not enough room, the shoe is likely too small.
  • Observe how the child runs or walks in their shoes. Children tend to have less consistent gait patterns than adults. However, if they seem to be moving in a slightly less steady manner, they may be uncomfortable in their shoes.
  • For very young children (like toddlers), if they are constantly fidgeting with their footwear or attempting to take them on and off frequently, they may be wearing the wrong size.

4 Factors That Can Affect the Way a Shoe Fits

Using the measurement tools in this guide is a great way to determine the right shoe size, but it’s important to note that different shoes have different designs and purposes, which may impact the way two different shoes feel on your feet, even if they are the same size.

There are a handful of factors that can affect the way a shoe feels on your feet:

  • The shoe’s last and overall structure. A last is the footform that a shoe is built on, and different shoes (including different Nike shoes) are made with different lasts. For example, a Mercurial soccer cleat is made with a different last than a pair of Air Force 1s . While Nike soccer cleats are designed to fit true to size, they serve a different purpose than a lifestyle shoe, for example, so they are likely to feel different than an Air Force 1 on-foot. Many soccer players, especially elite-level athletes, choose to size down in their soccer cleats so they can feel a more sensitive touch on the ball. (Related: How Should Soccer Cleats Fit? )
  • Material. Some fabrics will have more stretch and softness than others. For example, leather might feel softer and more pliable than certain synthetic materials.
  • The closure system. A shoe with laces may allow you to loosen or tighten the fit for a more personalized feel, while a slip-on shoe will have less adjustability.
  • The intended purpose of the shoe. For athletic performance, you may want a soccer, football or baseball cleat to provide a snug, tight fit. Meanwhile, you may want a slightly roomier fit, with more wiggle room in the toe box, for an everyday shoe.

Measurements aside, shoe fit is subjective. It’s normal for preferences to vary from person to person. You may prefer extra roominess or tightness in your footwear, depending on how you like the shoe to feel. Your best bet: Use your foot measurements as a guide, but be sure to try on several pairs to find what feels most comfortable on your feet.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re experiencing pinching in the toes or have very little wiggle room in the toe box, you’re likely wearing shoes that are too small. If the shoe collar height is too high or there’s rubbing or other irritation around the ankle, you may be wearing a size that’s too big. Your heel may also slip and move around in a shoe that’s too large, or you may feel the arch support is off-center underfoot.

A child might be wearing the wrong shoe size if they are constantly fidgeting with their footwear, expressing discomfort or showing unusual gait patterns. Also, if there isn’t enough space for you to put your fingertip between the tip of their big toe and the tip of the shoe, the shoe is likely too small.

If you find that a standard-size shoe feels too narrow on the foot, you may want to explore wide or extra-wide styles. There are several Nike shoe icons that are made in wide and extra-wide fits, including the Nike Pegasus and the Nike Monarch.

To convert shoes sizes between U.S. and European sizing, be sure to check an individual retailer’s size charts, as sizing can differ from brand to brand. To convert Nike shoes from U.S. to European sizes, check out the shoe size charts on Nike.com for men’s , women’s and kids’ footwear.

Canada uses the same footwear sizing system as the U.S., so there is no need to convert U.S. shoe size to Canadian shoe size.

They create these puppets that are kind of like the characters in their songs — so they have one for themself that has a septum ring and wears bolo ties. They have some for their exes which are these hipster- looking puppets with beanies and cigarettes. The whole thing is hilarious. They posted this video of them doing puppet ventriloquism of Sabrina Carpenter's "Espresso." It's really been getting me through the week. — Isabella Gomez Sarmiento

Tyler Joseph Ellis' Instagram videos

Tyler Joseph Ellis is an actor who does recurring bits on TikTok and Instagram about catty, judgmental theater people. And as a former theater kid, this is right in my wheelhouse. It is very niche. One of my favorite bits is "POV: You approach the senior theater kids." In one he plays a senior theater kid making fun of a freshman theater kid for saying Beauty and the Beast is their favorite musical. It just tickles my soul because I've been there. I love it. — Aisha Harris

The latest Tiny Desk Contest winner, The Philharmonik

This week we announced the winner of our 10th annual Tiny Desk contest is The Philharmonik, an artist from Sacramento, Calif. Their song, "What's It All Mean?" is completely timeless. It would have made a great Stevie Wonder song. It would have made a great '90s neo-soul song. It makes a great song in 2024. In the video they submitted, they perform this song not just in front of a desk, but in an office full of desks. This is a beautiful song and it's made by somebody who really thought about the Tiny Desk in clever ways. I'm just delighted by it. Look for their Tiny Desk concert in the days to come. — Stephen Thompson

Former Random House copy chief Benjamin Dreyer is always worth listening to, but this week, he uncorked a particularly good column at the Washington Post about why "salacious" doesn't mean what a lot of people assume it does – and neither do a lot of other words.
