My wife and I got married here on the lucky day of 8/18/18 and from the second we walked in, we knew this is where we were going to get married. It is right on the water and has stunning views of San Diego. We checked out about 8 places between Orange County and San Diego and couldn't be happier we picked to have our special day here. Every single worker here is helpful, genuine, and willing to do whatever it takes to make your wedding day perfect. Dan Parker will be the main person in charge of helping you plan your wedding. He is one of the nicest men we have ever met. He is genuinely happy for all his couples. You can tell you are not just another number to these people. The chef Lily is fantastic. Our guests couldn't say enough about the food. The dishes are good portions and delicious. Michelle (who is unfortunately moving due to her husband being in the military) is so sweet and helped make all the guests feel welcome. And we can't forget about Pedro! While all the workers do an excellent job, he is a jack of all trades and was willing to help with anything we threw his way. Thanks again Coronado Cays! Our day was perfect!

A huge thank you to Dan and staff for our recent wedding at the Yacht Club. This is not your typical wedding venue where they have weddings every weekend- you definitely receive more personal interaction with the staff and more attention. Dan was super organized throughout the process and kept us on track with deadlines and making sure we knew all of our options. The staff was great at the event! Not one thing went wrong- it was even better than expected. The food was phenomenal and everyone raved about it. Highly recommended venue. Thank you!

We recently had our wedding here in June and this is the perfect venue for a wedding. Everything was provided by the Club, there's no no for rentals or catering because everything was provided, from the altar, tables and food. The food is 5 star quality! We order the chicken roulade, seared salmon, and Eggplant Parmesan. There were no complaints :). The event coordinator, Larry, helped us find the perfect dishes and drinks to accommodate all of our needs and requests. The place itself is surrounded by water and a view to die for! There were no fees for parking and the place is what San Diego is all about. The service was excellent and very courteous. If you are looking for venue, I highly recommend the Coronada Cays Yacht Club. Vinny and Phiny June 2014

This small yacht club serves the residents of the Coronado Cays development, where each house has its own slip. For a ritzy-seeming area, the club underwhelms. The interior is a bit run down and is showing it's age a bit. Service in the bar area is middling. They have two (usually pretty good craft) beers on tap plus (weak-sauce domestic) bottles. Free popcorn. There's a large dining area used for events, but the space doesn't "wow" except for the view of the water. The deck on two sides is very nice, with a large fire pit that has sofa-like seating around it. Even when it doesn't seem that busy inside, the parking lot tends to be full. The pool is small. The only time I've had food here is when they put on a buffet after a sailing regatta, and the food has been ok--nothing too special but not terrible. Sailing out of the club is decent: although South Bay can be dangerously shallow in places it has far less traffic than the North Bay. The views aren't great, just the commercial and Navy dockyards to the east. It takes a couple of hours to motor up to the races on North Bay (e.g., Cortez series) and even longer to get to the ocean, so if you are based here you will likely only sail around here. Fortunately there is a good Wednesday night race series and frequently Saturday races as well. Although the fleets are a tad on the small side the racing is fun and competitive (in a relaxed way).

This was the most beautiful wedding venue! In addition, Dan helped to make our planning process go very smoothly!! He was the ideal Catering Manager to work with to plan our big day with less stress!! Che Luciano scored with the food that he prepared, everyone loved it!!! The staff were especially accommodating, very professional and on top of everything. I highly highly recommend Coronado Cays Yacht Club for your wedding or any type of special event! Thank you for making our special day the most memorable!!!

We held my Fathers remembrance celebration at the CCYC. Larry the manager was outstanding and so easy to work with. The food was impeccable and delicious. chef Luciano was amazing and the staff was attentive and friendly. The venue was incredible, indoor and outdoor, with some of the best views in San Diego from the bay. It was serene, peaceful and visually beautiful. This was absolutely one of the best locations in Coronado for any type of gathering! My thanks to Larry and staff for such a wonderful day and celebration!

Surrounded by water with a refreshing sea breeze, the Coronado Cays Yacht Club was a fabulous place to hold my retirement ceremony and reception. Larry and Tish were accommodating and very helpful. Nick worked closely with me to ensure the meal was first class. Pros: -Private and secluded feeling, not teeming with tourists. -Guests don't have to pay for parking. -Guests can stay late to party until 11 PM. -Option to have gondolas bring you to your ceremony. -Beautiful panoramic water scenery. -Option to have ceremony on lawn directly under the sun or under a covered patio. Definitely recommend CCYC for your ceremony.

Thank you CCYC, for hosting the fabulous "Celebration of Life" on August 15, 2015 for my Amazing Father, Dave Murphy!! It could not have been more perfect, it accommated everyone. The kids were nearly unseen playing outside, adults scattered inside and out. The food was delicious, the staff excellent, a perfect venue for our Wake and our humongous family & friends!! Thank you in helping make our SPECIAL day PERFECT!!

Great venue on the water. Extra deals for military parties. Dan (catering manager) couldn't have been more helpful throughout the planning and execution of a graduation party with over 70 people in attendance (event went off without a hitch). I will seek them out again for future events and recommend them to others.

We had our wedding at the Coronado Cays Yacht Club and highly recommend it! Huge thanks to Larry, and Chef Luciano for helping to make our wedding perfect!! The food was absolutely delicious and the staff is very friendly and helpful! We feel so lucky we found this place, and everyone loved it!!

Junior sailing program makes a splash with summer classes, enroll your children in an award-winning sailing program that teaches a unique skill set and offers valuable life lessons—no yacht club membership necessary, carrie keyes , neighbor.

Coronado Yacht Club Junior Program coach Jon Rogers knows a thing or two about sailing. With a leader who's won four world titles, eight U.S. titles, has experience with the AmericaOne Challenge, and is a former director and instructor for J World Sailing School, it’s no wonder the Coronado Yacht Club Junior Program is considered to be the best on the West Coast.

Now Rogers and his talented staff want to teach your kids to sail. Grab your life vest and read more about splash-worthy summertime classes and the varied lessons the prestigious maritime sport offers.

From rigging boats to sailing underneath the bridge over to the ferry landing for ice cream, summer classes are available for kids ages 6-18. The Scallywags course is designed for adventurous 6- and 7-year-olds and emphasizes pirate-themed fun and comfort on the water. Sabot, Laser and Adrenaline sailing classes for 8- to 18-year-olds are also offered, among others. Rogers takes advantage of the popularity of the X Games when planning courses for older kids.

“We’re taking a bold turn toward high-performance boats like 420s and 29ers,” he said.

Junior sailing classes are open to the public; parents need not own a boat or be a club member to enroll their children in the program.

Rogers’ message is simple.

“We pride ourselves in going sailing, rain or shine,” he said. “We like to get kids on the water instead of bombarding them with classroom time. Our curriculum is measurable—it’s not just a babysitting service.”

The drill-based program “does not take a high-pressure approach.”

Rogers’ curriculum not only teaches the principles, strategies and communication specific to boating, but also teaches valuable life lessons.

“We teach kids to be mentally under control with an ‘I can’ attitude. Sailing is a moderate-speed sport that teaches patience. Kids learn to get results at a slower pace,” Rogers said.

He also emphasizes the importance of instructing participants to be self-reliant, confident sailors. As evidence of practicing what he preaches, Rogers has won the San Diego Yachtsman of the Year Award twice, and has also received the Alonzo de Jessop Service Award and the John M. Rumsey Award.

Junior Program Director Becky Nygren agrees with Rogers’ belief that sailing offers valuable lessons.

“Sailing teaches kids they must go with the strides,” she said.

Nygren believes the sport offers kids “independence and a unique sense of freedom and ability they don’t get in most sporting programs.” Program youth also enjoy a sense of ownership; each child must care for their own boat, whether rented or owned.
