C’est la Vie’s  interior is luxurious and inviting. Her owners have done an excellent job making her feel like home. She has four air conditioners/heaters to easily cope with the heat of summer and the chill of winter.   C’est la Vie has three private cabins and three heads with two showers. The commode has been removed from one head to increase space, but plumbing remains and the commode can easily be reinstalled in the new owner so desires.

Aft Guest Cabin / Office

To starboard and just forward of the master suite is the  aft guest cabin  with a desk, bunk beds, cedar-lined closet, drawers, shelves and an opening port. The upper bunk can fold down to convert to a sitting area. This makes an excellent office with plenty of room for a computer and can also accommodate two adults with full length bunk beds. Easy access to head and shower is just across the passageway.

Forward VIP Guest Cabin

The  forward VIP guest cabin  is all the way forward and has a large double berth to starboard with a single bunk above, an opening port, TV, countertop and easy access to head and shower.

Three Heads and Two Showers

The  master head  is accessed from the master suite and has a separate shower with bathtub, full vanity, SeaLand Dometic electric flush commode, cabinets, towel racks and an opening port.

Just forward of the master head is a  guest head  with vanity, cabinets, opening port and towel rack (the commode has been removed for more open space but can easily be reinstalled). This head shares the master head bathtub and shower (the shower and tub divide the 2 heads with locking slide doors on each side).

A  third head  is just aft of the forward stateroom. This head is separated by the forward passageway with the full stand-up shower to starboard and the head area to port. The head features a SeaLand Dometic electric flush commode, vanity, cabinets, opening port and towel racks.

Anyone considering performance bluewater cruising multihulls should have a look at Chris White’s designs, typified by the Atlantic 47 .

The Dartmouth, Massachusetts-based designer has three decades experience of drawing fast cruising catamarans and some innovative rigs to go with them.

The Atlantic series of catamarans was first launched in 1985. They are instantly recognisable thanks to their fine hull entries, forward cockpit and aft pilothouse layout.

The midship pilothouse is designed to give the helmsman good all-round visibility from both the cockpit and inside helm position. Some might view elements of the coachroof and pilothouse design as the forerunner to the early Gunboat style.

The Atlantic 47, originally launched in 2013, retains these much loved features and suits short-handed fast ocean sailing at an approachable size. The pilothouse is more voluminous than past models, which helps allow for a semi-raised galley.

The Atlantic  47 also has a dedicated workbench area in the port hull for ongoing maintenance projects.

Lengthening the design to 49ft allowed for an aft cockpit. Like the Atlantic 47, the A49 is available as a sloop, or with White’s patented MastFoil ketch rig – rotating aerofoil masts designed to be the easiest and safest sail plan possible for short-handed cruising without sacrificing performance.

Twelve of these MastFoil cats are sailing now, nine A47s and three of the newer A49s.

The new Atlantic 47 offers exciting improvements over her earlier, smaller sisters, including the revolutionary MastFoil (patented) rig, an expanded pilot house, and an innovative galley up/galley down configuration. The A47 is an excellent performer, combining fast sailing, great cruising livability and ease of handling that the Atlantic Cats are known for. All in an affordable under 50-foot length!

Hulls, decks, bulkheads and pilothouse are constructed from vacuum bagged Epoxy-Vinylester resin and high performance glass fiber laminate cored with PVC foam.

Refrigeration

A custom fabricated side by side refrigerator/freezer (approx 8 cu/ft capacity) is located in the galley, inboard side. Adjustable shelves included in each compartment. Each unit uses a separate highly efficient SeaFrost compressor with electronic control thermostat providing redundancy.

Port hull has a separate aft cabin which contains two single berths. The outboard berth folds up against the hull when not in use. A built in desk is located against the aft bulkhead with additional stowage below. A 36″ tall locker is located at the forward end of the folding berth. A deck hatch and opening port provide excellent cross ventilation.

Midship Cabins

Each hull has a sleeping cabin amidships that contains a large queen sized berth (60″ x 80′). A hanging locker, storage cabinet and bookshelf is included. A large deck hatch and an opening port provides excellent ventilation.

A47 Key Features:

Pilothouse and Aft Deck   The Atlantic 47 incorporates two key features that Atlantic Cat owners love - an aft deck behind the pilothouse and the large pilothouse with very easy access to the hulls. The pilothouse on the A47 is larger than that on the A57! This is achieved by extending the house outboard, and by raising the floor level in the aft part of the hulls. The result is a spacious, low profile and highly functional house for a 47' cat. The generous aft deck has a bench to port, a high bulwark all around and a walk-through to starboard for easy access to the dinghy and swim step.

Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small Sr., La'Quetta Small Charged

T he mayor of Atlantic City and the superintendent of the city's public school district were accused of physically and emotionally abusing their teen daughter, including an incident that left her unconscious, authorities said.

Mayor Marty Small Sr., 50, and Dr. La'Quetta Small, 47, were given several charges via summonses on Monday, Apr. 15, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said in a news release. The couple was charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

Mayor Small was also charged with third-degree terroristic threats, third-degree aggravated assault, and disorderly persons simple assault. Dr. Small was also charged with three separate counts of disorderly persons simple assault.

Prosecutors said the couple physically and emotionally abused their 16-year-old daughter several times in December 2023 and January 2024. In one incident, Mayor Small was accused of hitting her several times in the head with a broom, knocking her unconscious.

The mayor was also accused of threatening to hurt his daughter by "earth slamming" her down the stairs, grabbing her head, throwing her to the ground, and "smacking the weave out of her head." Investigators also said in another incident, the mayor bruised his daughter by repeatedly punching her legs.

Dr. Small was accused of punching her daughter multiple times in the chest, which also caused bruises. In another incident, prosecutors said Dr. Small dragged her by her hair and hit her with a belt on her shoulders, leaving marks.

In another argument, Dr. Small was also accused of punching her daughter in the mouth. The special victims unit for the county prosecutor's office investigated the accusations.

The couple's charges came exactly two weeks after Mayor Small publicly addressed search warrants executed on their Presbyterian Avenue home on Thursday, Mar. 28. He criticized the tactics used in the raid and called it politically motivated.

At his Monday, Apr. 1 news conference, the mayor admitted to some parenting challenges that he and his wife have had raising their children but he didn't specifically say what the issues were.

"There's no book and no course that we took in college to show you how to be a parent and more importantly, how to deal with the struggles of raising teens," said Mayor Small.

On the same day of the raid on the mayor's house,  Atlantic City High School principal Constance Days-Chapman was charged for failing to properly report a student's claim of abuse by their parents. Mayor Small did not say if Days-Chapman's charges were related to his children who attend ACHS.

Mayor Small supported Days-Chapman, who was his 2021 campaign manager and someone his children call "Aunt Mandy."

"We confide in her about personal details in our household and she does the same with us, so if you think that you're going to drive a wedge between us, it's not going to work," the mayor said at the news conference. "We support you, Mandy. You did absolutely nothing wrong."
