Come and join us for a private charter! Take one of our three boats to a private beach or ride around the bay in style. While out on the water you will be able to see some million-dollar homes and even spot some dolphins! You will have the option to stop at some of our favorite restaurants (Chicks Oysters Bar, Bubba’s and Porch on Long Creek).

Pontoon Broad Bay Private Charter

Take our pontoon out to celebrate any occasion.  You will be able to invite up to 10 people including yourself. This boat comes with bluetooth speakers, a cooler and a sink.

5-Seater Bugatti JetCar

We allow 5 Guests per JetCar and the total weight cannot exceed over 800 pounds. If you would like to have a captain/guide to help you navigate your trip, please select the option when booking. If you choose not to select a captain/guide, you or someone on the JetCar MUST have held your boater’s card for 1+ years and must demonstrate you can operate the vessel. If you have not had your Virginia boater’s card for over a year and you select a captain/guide, you will still be able to drive the JetCar under the supervision of the captain/guide. (If you decided to have a driver you will only be able to invite 4 people including yourself)

Duration & Rates

30 minute charter $125, one hour charter $250, 90 minute charter $375, two hours charter $500.

This boat is a wonderful endeavor for a variety of events, including but not limited to bachelor parties, corporate outings, family days, birthday parties and more. This spacious Luhrs 31-foot vessel can accommodate up to 6 anglers to fish in comfort and style. The boat comes equipped a generator, microwave, dining area, bathroom, shower, and icebox to keep the catch fresh during the day. This boat fits 10 people comfortably. To rent this vessel you must have held your Virginia Boaters Card for 7+ years or have your US Coast Guard Captain license.

Rental FAQ’s

Can i bring my own food and beverages.

Yes, you are more than welcome to bring any additional food or beverages items you would like with you the day of your charter.

Can I bring my own chairs and beach towels for the beach?

Yes, we allow you to bring as chairs and towels aboard with you.

What if I want to change my current booking date to a different date?

If no other bookings have been placed or interfere with moving your reservation to another date, we offer that service complimentary to our customers. We do require a 72-hour notice to modify your reservation in certain circumstances.

What if there’s hazardous weather at the time of my departure?

We do offer day charter hazardous weather rescheduling without any additional fees.

What is included?

• All our charters come with an option for you to select your own licensed Coast Guard certified captain.
• Complimentary ice, water, and soda.

What you should bring?

• Towels if you’d like to swim.
• Food and beverages that you would like.

Are pets allowed?

We love pets, but unfortunately they are not allowed.

Am I able to drive the JetCar myself?

Yes, you will be able to drive the JetCar as long as you have your Virgina Boaters License.

Amazing experience i really enjoyed my time out on the legacy boat charter. the first time being back on any boat in a while.it was definitely a vibe , laid-back smooth atmosphere.definitely on point i went on the sunset cruise. smooth sailing down the river and watching so many beautiful scenery we came upon a private beach went to go chill an relax for a few. while on the way back i spotted dolphins. i was so happy that captain was able to go back around and let us see the dolphins definitely that was the icing on the cake for me. dolphins was literally in groups swimming next to our boat i literally was so amazed. highly recommend a smooth cruise with legacy boat charter very private and intimate so many events you can do., legacy boat charters, llc never disappoints. the owner and staff are professional and polite. the captains are skilled and very knowledgeable of the waterways. we booked a broad bay tour and purchased the beach picnic add-on. everything was phenomenal from start to finish and exceeded expectations. we had such a nice time that we booked again for a sunset cruise, which was very peaceful and relaxing with a beautiful view of waterside. these boat rides are perfect for any occasion and are family friendly. the owner is very responsive to inquiries. i would definitely book again., i had a blast for friday night lights legacy boat charter is the best the captain is so nice and fun i got a chance to interact with one of the owners and he had the same spirit a little slice of heaven in our own little hampton roads area i recommend legacy boat charter to everyone who is looking for a relaxing chill evening and might i add the sunset was beautiful and golden it was my favorite part, wow booked with legacy on a friday evening. the ride was smooth and the captain was able to entertain a few questions i had in detail. the charcuterie board added an elegant snack that was much appreciated. will definitely book again, all bookings are by reservation only.

Tommy let me and my friend sail on a beautiful summer day. His lovely wife also accompanied us. I was itching to get out of the house due to the pandemic lock down. 757 Sailing Charters provided us with a wonderful afternoon of excitement and fun. I have never sailed before, and my hubby knows little about it too. However, 757 Sailing Charters made our first experience delightful and unique. It started on the dock with Captain Robert helping us on board and giving us the safety lesson. Captain Robert gave us a history of the area and pointed out unique things at the mouth of the James River as we motored out where we could use the sails. Since I had never sailed before, I appreciated the way Captain Robert explained how the boat worked with which sails he was using and how they made the boat heel. It is a beautiful vessel and a lovely experience with the wind pushing us along. The amenities on the boat were very nice and we could sit out in the sun or inside the cabin. They were attentive to our needs and made sure everything went smoothly. Thanks for the wonderful experience that afternoon.

BOOK THIS BOAT!! I booked it for a Sunset Party to celebrate my 30th bday and it did not disappoint. The cruise was wonderful, Lisa and Marque were fantastic hosts!! Our experience with James was nothing short of incredible! We booked a short rental for our engagement pictures session, and James’ boat was beautiful, immaculate, and incredibly picturesque. James was quick and incredibly safe as well as a very skilled captain who accommodated multiple pick ups/drop offs for our shoot and did everything in his power to get the pictures we wanted. We would recommend him for photography or a nice sailing day - we will definitely be back!

GREAT experience!!! Captain Dennis was terrific. He was professional, yet fun & extremely well prepared. The yacht was clean & well maintained with all the amenities that we could ask for. Our only regret is that we did not book a longer cruise on Seas the Day.

Omg we had a great time, Shawn our captain was amazing and fun. We'll definitely do it again. He chargers for our phones, loud speakers etc, he took our pictures and he was flexible with us. It was a great experience P. S. The only rule we didn't like was the no shoes policy especially slippers lol. We thought no shoes meant heels etc so we wore sneakers, slippers etc but it wasn't accepted but once we bypass that, man let the fun begun 😂 😂

Our boats are well maintained and in good condition. We rent pontoon boats and fishing skiffs. These rental boats are lots of fun.  What you see in our pictures is what we offer for rent. We launch our rental boats at the Town of Cape Charles harbor.

We welcome everyone of all ages and experience but you must be 21 years and older to drive and operate our rental boats. We are open by reservation only to ensure availability.

The 17 mile drive across the worlds largest bridge tunnel complex; the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, is scenic and a one of a kind experience. The maximum capacity of our boats is 14 people, with 10 adults max. Anyone over 12 is considered an adult.  

A boater's license is not required, but the person operating the boat must have ample power boating experience. If the operator cannot demonstrate sufficient boating knowledge, the reservation deposit will be forfeited, and the rental will cancelled.

Cancellation Policy

Prior to 7 days from the reservation start time, the reservation can be rescheduled or cancelled for a refund of the $100.00 reservation deposit (The $8.80 booking fee is non-refundable). Inside 7 days from the start time of the rental, the $108.80 reservation deposit becomes non-refundable, unless the rental is cancelled at the sole discretion of Bay Venture Boat Rentals, due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. The decision to cancel/reschedule the rental will be made by Bay Venture Boat Rentals on the day of the rental. Bay Venture Boat Rentals reserves the right to charge the full rental amount for no shows/cancellations without 48 hours prior notice. 

In the case of a cancellation by Bay Venture Boat Rentals, the $100.00 deposit will be refunded. The decision to cancel a rental will be made by Bay Venture Boat Rentals on the day of the rental and will be communicated to you by email or phone.

The reservation may be cancelled at Bay Venture Boat Rentals sole discretion due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. We will cancel/reschedule your rental if the weather is inclement or inclement weather is imminent. We will not cancel a rental based solely on a chance of precipitation. All too often, the weather forecasts change drastically, or in a lot of cases are very inaccurate. Inside of the 7 day window, we wait until we have a high degree of certainty that hazardous/inclement weather is imminent.

We want you to enjoy your time on the water, therefore we do not want you to experience bad weather. We make every effort to reschedule your rental if the weather does not cooperate on your rental day.

Security Deposit

Does Boatsetter screen renters?

Yes. We use a system called Cognito to ensure that payment information matches the renter's identity. We also require renters taking out a captained boat to be at least 18 years old and on a bareboat to be at least 25 years old.

Is listing my boat on Boatsetter free?

Yes! Listing a boat is completely free. We only take a commission when your boat is rented. We only make money when you do!

What if I'm not comfortable having a renter drive my boat?

If you are not comfortable having a renter drive your boat, we have an expansive network of licensed and experienced captains. Once your boat is listed, you can filter through our network of captains and favorite captains in your area that you would like to operate your boat.

We offer several different tour packages available for purchase. Prices are based on tour duration, destination, and cruise availability.

Our tiki boat has a maximum of 6 passengers. This does not include the captain. This maximum capacity is a US Coast Guard restriction. Only USCG inspected “for hire” vessels can hold more than 6 passengers.

Yes, our tiki boat has a 2023 Vessel Safety Check certificate from the United States Coast Guard. Our vessel has all the necessary safety and precautionary equipment as prescribed by Federal and State laws.

Walk-on cruises are two hours long. Private booked cruises are dedicated trips where patrons can swim at the sandbar or visit local restaurants. If there is not a scheduled trip after your trip, you can talk to your captain about extending your trip for an additional fee.

Our two-hour cruises follow a nonstop route and do not permit time for swimming. Our 4 or 6 hour cruises do allow time for swimming. Patrons will be allowed to swim from our tiki boats only when the captain has anchored the vessel, turned the engine off, and has given the “okay” that you can get in the water. Permission to leave the vessel at any point during your cruise is at the complete discretion of the captain, and is based on but not limited to: tidal patterns, weather, boat traffic, water clarity, and time remaining in the tour. Patrons are not covered by boat insurance when they are off the vessel.

Our tiki boat will pick up and drop off patrons at the Lynnhaven Municipal Marina (beside Chick’s Oyster bar). TWO parking passes will be provided, as parking is extremely limited at this facility. Please carpool to the marina if possible to ensure everyone can park on site.

Up to 6 passengers regardless of age. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied with a parent/guardian or adult. Anyone under the age of 21 will be allowed to come aboard, but will not be allowed to drink alcoholic beverages while aboard our vessels, in our parking lots, or during any part of the cruise. Children age 12 or younger will be required to wear a USCG approved life jacket for the duration of the tour per VA state law.
