The Venice Yacht Club and Marina sets on the shores of Roberts Bay and makes an ideal location for water lovers and boaters alike. Our private marina, in close proximity to the Gulf of Mexico, is an enviable amenity. The connection to the water is a way of life for our members. We have the facilities, reciprocity and programs to accommodate your love of boating and provide plenty of opportunities for relaxation, social interaction and dining on the water.

We have 72 slips ranging from 25’ lift slips to a 120’ T-dock. We provide a safe harbor for all and a full-service Marina team that oversees your every need. With 100’ fuel dock, we provide our members access to bring friends by boat for lunch or dinner.

PADDLESPORTS

The Marina maintains a fleet of 3 single Kayaks, 1 tandem kayak, and 2 Stand Up Paddleboards which members and transients can schedule and rent through our Dockmaster's office. Our new floating dock gives you the perfect access to easily launch your vessel of choice. Paddlers have seen all kinds of marine wildlife while exploring Robert's Bay and Dona Bay including Manatees, Dolphins, the occasional Turtle and even Stingrays!  Take fishing equipment with you and search for Snook or Sheepshead and relax after at the Tiki Bar.  For your safety we ask that paddlers not venture further than 1.5 miles from VYC and do not venture outside the jetty.  

The VYC Marina is a State of Florida recognized Clean Marina. This recently expanded facility has 69 member slips as well as a large T-dock to accommodate visiting FCYC boaters. Our state-of-the-art docks are complete with connections for potable water and pump out, as well as up to 100-amp electrical service. Amenities include a security system, a fire extinguishing system, and a fuel dock. Our members enjoy discounted gas and diesel fuels and full time dockmaster services. The Club’s docks are in a protected area just inside the Venice Inlet.

VYC Clean Marina

VENICE – The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), together with the Clean Boating Partnership, today recognized Venice Yacht Club as the 210th member of the Florida Clean Marina Program and the 5th in Sarasota County. The program, which recognizes marinas and boatyards for their commitment to the protection of Florida’s natural resources, now boasts 216 Clean Marinas, 31 Clean Boatyards and 10 Clean Marine Retailers statewide.

The Clean Boating Partnership is a consortium of industry leaders who contribute time and input to the Clean Marina, Clean Boatyard, Clean Marine Retailer and Clean Boater programs which DEP administers to protect Florida’s waterways. The partnership includes DEP, Marine Industries Association of Florida, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, University of Florida Sea Grant Program, United States Coast Guard and Coast Guard Auxiliary.

With more than one million registered motorized vessels in Florida, environmental education within marine industries is the first step toward safeguarding the state’s natural resources. By providing green education and alternatives the Florida Clean Marina Program helps ensure a sustainable future for the environment and a billion dollar marine industry. This place is the best, great dock master, tiki bar, staff! Stayed one night at the dock on our Cat while sailing up the west coast Meet some great friends Kirsten and John Whitehead, hope to see them again soon! The food was fresh and delicious at the Yacht Club and we will be back soon!

Spending a night here on Squisita

Fun July 4th party! Snow cones, pool games and a large water slide. The food was good. We are outside in the shade. Salads and burgers.

I have written about the month long celebration I am enjoying for my birthday. This time, 2 of my friends offered to treat me here to dinner, and it was absolutely lovely. Food, service, atmosphere could not have been better. There was a pasta buffet, so many choices, I wish I had another stomach to fill, there was just so much good to choose from. You need to be a member, or guest of a member to attend, so I am definitely glad I was invited here. EXCELLENT CHOICE!

I LOVE THIS PLACE. Very nice employees. Fun environment. We have had a membership there for almost 2 years. Great place to eat, swim, hang out , have a get together with friends, good location .

Ate dinner outside by the Tiki bar. Selected the chef's special...blackened grouper with blackened shrimp. Entree came with rice & snap peas. Excellent. Nice setting, John is a friendly bartender. We have eaten here multiple times since first review and joined club as members. Great staff and amenities. Chef Josh provides an excellent variety of seafood dishes.

This place was packed when I stumbled onto the solid dock, sea legs trembling beneath me, feet stained brown by the Suns rays, cowl up protecting my eyes from its radiating reflection of off calm water. I was parched, stressed, and sore after 13+ hours of being tossed by a salty sea, granule filled water droplets pelting my skin all day, leaving crystalline drops on all of my clothing as I powered through with the hopes of reprieve on the horizon. The bar was full when I arrived, with a lone bar tender servicing the entire place by himself. Turns out, a wedding party had booked the main restaurant, and any spontaneous guests were being reroute do to the outside bar. It's really quite a nice little dock bar, with a good draft beer selection, along with all of the traditional liquor combinations you might want. The bartender, John, was overwhelmed, but very cool, and he made sure everyone knew what was going on. He was definitely skilled, and provided great service, especially considering the deluge of customers that had surged into his limited space. The chicken wings were crispy but moist, the nachos weren't bad, and the Greek salad was quite good! The food was tasty, the bartender John handled the situation admirably, provided good service, AND miraculously maintained a great attitude, and I was a satisfied customer! I hope he's there if you go- he was headed to Poland for a well deserved break last I checked....

Beautiful Club that family had a private rehearsal dinner at. It is lovely, clean and very picturesque. I enjoyed the few hours I spent here and only wish I had more time to enjoy my surroundings! If I lived in the Venice area, I would... have all my family events there. It is an excellent facility. More

Friends invited us for lunch. Food and service was very good, especially the Crab Cake BLT. Do you have to be a member or can public dine at their restaurants?

Continuing with my daily celebrating of my month of July Birthday, I was invited here together with my best friend to participate in the "Pasta Buffet", which had such a great variety of pastas, sauces, shrimp, scallops, meats, vegetables...all to be added and then cooked... right in front of you. Very difficult to choose! Doug Laudenslager, who I believe is Manager there, even treated me to my beloved mussels as an appetizer, and they were so tasty. Loved the garlicky tomato sauce they came in. Of course after that, plus the warm rolls, plus the cheese and crackers, left very little room in my stomach for that wonderful pasta creation. However....I got to take some home for my nightly midnight snack...I'm thrilled. This was a wonderful birthday celebration and I thank my gracious hosts for this gift. HIGHLY RECOMMEND - More

Pleasant setting with very professional staff. Dining experience was terrific. Our group was from the Marco Island Yacht Club. We stayed on our boats, but enjoyed the hospitality of the Club and local restaurants. If you belong to FCYC, make this one of your stops.

Visited with friends who are members. The interior is beautiful and the outdoor tiki bar great. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Food and drinks were wonderful and well prepared. Special summer membership is a great deal. No boat - no problem. Reciprocal to other... yacht clubs. More

We have frequented the VYC over the years but the food was really delightful last night. As the previous review stated the "Pasta Night" is the bomb, so if you can finagle a member to take you...be sure it's Wednesday evening!

We met friends for drinks and dinner at this beautiful facility. Incredible views wonderful drinks and great food for our group. The service was excellent and we would gladly return.

Chef Josh prepared a table side dinner for 15! Upstairs in our beautiful dinning room! We were treated to the “How to!” A great evening ! Consider joining! Great food fun social events and great fuel pricing for boats!

We had our wedding reception here. They helped us along the way with every question we had. Josh, the Chef was amazing as well. He accommodated to my "food snob" husband even. :) The view we had was just gorgeous. Of course, by time we... showed up, we didn't get to see much of the view, but our friends and family did! I really enjoy the friendly atmosphere here, and the food is very good. The service is exceptional, but then, it IS a private club. Drinks are half price until 6:00pm!

Had an opportunity to dine here. It was very nice and good food. The service was great and ambiance was outstanding.

We were there for a fund-raiser dinner for the Venice Friendship Centers and they served one of the best dinners we've ever had at a function like this. The restaurant is beautiful and looks out on the harbor. The bar couldn't be nicer with the... same view. The main course was excellent, but it's the chocolate lava cake that made the biggest hit! Seriously, think back to any big dinner you've ever attended. There were about 150 people there that night and the food came out on time, hot and was delicious! It's definitely an amazing location for an event like this! More

The dining room was busy, and a large party was being held in the upstairs room. Service was a little slow, which was unusual. However, my meal was delicious, and the atmosphere is always wonderful. the views, the boats, the bar and overall experience does... not disappoint. And it is a Yacht Club after all! More

Yacht Club Venice, excellence and luxury in Venice

In the heart of the wonderful and superb city of Venice that the whole world envies and where the people have an almost symbiotic relationship with the sea that surrounds it, is located the Yacht Club Venezia , a name known to sportspeople and sailing enthusiasts all over the world .

Located in the historic building where once the “ Gallette ” was produced for the fleet of the Serenissima. Inside the Marina Sant’Elena, the only marina located in the historic centre of Venice , the Yacht Club Venezia was born from an idea of Mirko Sguario , who aims to bring the excellence of sailing and its significant following in the heart of the Serenissima. 

Sguario soon becomes an i mportant reference point in the organization of major events . His first event in 1993, the regatta for couples “HIM and HER”, proved to be a real triumph. It aimed to involve as many people of all ages, sailors or not, attracting both newcomers and owners, who used to use the boat only for pleasure, to the race circuit. “HIM and HER” became a success destined to grow and break every record , year after year until reaching the record number of 136 boats in the 2000 edition. 

His skills, knowledge and quality as an excellent organizer led him over the years to collect one success after another as for example the Cooking Cup . The Cup was born from an innovative concept that combined the race with the preparation of a dish in the galley onboard. And more as the Aquileone Race , the Sci-Vela , another premiere in the Veneto region that was expanded with the speciality of golf.

This is how “ Golf Vela Sciando ” was born, another success with hundreds of participants of all ages and with famous champions such as Bruno Alberti and Cristian Ghedina, who participated in the 2009 edition , also as testimonials of a humanitarian project.

Subsequently with the X-Yacht Adriatic Cup, Sguario brings t he most technological and performing boats to Venice . Experience and expertise led him to become a leading light in the racing world, so much so that in 2006 he was called to the direction of the International Boat Show in Venice to take care of the sports events.

Among the new challenges, Sguario wanted to bring vintage sails back to Venice, finding a great ally in the Consulate of the Principality of Monaco in Venice : this is how the Monaco Trophy was born, in its seventh edition in 2019 .

When Stefano Costantini inaugurated the Marina Sant’Elena in 2014, Mirko Sguario sensed the possibility of organizing a great regatta like never before seen in Venice. The Venice Hospitality Challenge was born, a race by invitation only for Maxi yachts, each one combined with a 5-star luxury Venetian hotel .

The Venice Hospitality Challenge is the only regatta in the world that takes place in an urban itinerary such as the F1 Grand Prix of Montecarlo. Every year, the Venice Hospitality Challenge sees internationally renowned boats and skippers battle to win the coveted Doge’s hat, specially made by historic Murano glassworks. 

Spectacularity is always in the first place: the race course takes place in front of “Piazza San Marco” and when the fleet arrives in “Canale della Giudecca” , which is less than 250 metres wide at its narrowest point, the public is always in suspense. Last year’s 6th edition of the Venice Hospitality Challenge saw no less than fourteen Maxi Yachts lined up on the starting line and victory went to Way of Life – The Gritti Palace , helmed by Slovenian skipper Gaspar Vincec . 

With events like this, Venice confirms itself as an extraordinary city , a world reference point that pushes to more and more complex challenges but that in the end, rewards with unforgettable emotions.

• Dockmasters

The Field Club is located on the Easterly shore of Roberts Bay at marker #78 on the Intercoastal Waterway. Contact the Dockmaster upon approach for instructions. The Field Club monitors channel #16 and switches to channel #68. Dockage for our membership is free for the first night and $1.10 per foot per day after. Dockage is granted to full resident members of fellow FCYC clubs by advance reservation only. Visitors must identify themselves by presenting Club membership card. Dockage fee is $2.21 per foot per day after the first night. Electricity charges are based on consumption.

Boat Arrival

The Field Club is located on the easterly shore of Roberts Bay, three miles south of the main business section of Sarasota. At marker #78 on the Intercoastal Waterway, turn to the east and follow the club markers into the marina. Contact the Dockmaster upon approach for instructions.

The Dockmaster is in attendance from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Sunday. Showers are available. No outdoor cooking allowed. No laundry or towels to be hung on boats. Gasoline and diesel fuel available when the Dockmaster is on duty, charged to your Club. Leashed pets allowed in Marina area only. Owners responsible for clean-up. All food and beverage consumed on Club grounds must be purchased on Club grounds.

The Field Club monitors channel #16 and then switches to working channel # 68.

Reciprocity

Full reciprocity to all FCYC members except those who are non-resident members of other FCYC Clubs. Bird Key Yacht Club, Bradenton Yacht Club, Sarasota Yacht Club and Venice Yacht Club by boat only, except when those Clubs are closed.

All bills will be sent to your Club. No cash transactions permitted.

First 24 hours, no charge, then $1.10 per foot per day for Field Club members and $2.21 per foot per day for FCYC members. Minimum $8 per day. Electricity charges, including first day, based on lines used.

Nearby Anchorages

Either side of ICW near marker 78 has 5' of water and good holding ground. Other anchorages are available to the north in Sarasota Bay.
